Nicole Kidman stars as a World War II–era mother whose imperiousness masks a terrifying pain, as she keeps her light-sensitive children enshrouded in darkness on her country estate. The arrival of three new servants punctures her insular world—and seems to disturb the balance between the living and the dead. Angela is writing her thesis on violence in media and its effects on society. She meets Chema, an outcast in her class who's obsessed with underground violent films. Angela stumbles upon a snuff tape that she watches with Chema, they recognise the victim as a student at their college who disappeared two years before. They start an investigation to find out who made the tape which puts them at risk of being the killers next victims....

Fantastic spanish psychological horror/mystery film. Incredibly well filmed and extremely creepy. The film does a great job at building up credible suspects so you dont know who to trust. Angela is a great main character, very likable and great performance from Ana Torrent. Chema is initially dislikable but loved the way the relationship between him and Angela progressed. Brilliant movie, will watch again.
