While not at “peak”, loosely defined as when the greatest variety and number of wildflowers are blooming, the subalpine meadows at Paradise already have a range of wildflowers to enjoy. In areas where snow was late melting out, avalanche lilies are still dominating.

Areas that melted out earlier have mid-season flowers like magenta paintbrush. Look for excellent displays of Jeffrey’s shooting stars along creeks. Many plants, like rosy spirea, are just getting started. (“Peak” bloom is typically in late July/early August.)
