ohh these are from an au? could you tell some details... 🥺

YES!!! there isn't a lot of info yet but i can tell you some!!

this is an au i'm making with some friends that's heavily based on a game we all like

for starters, this is a completely different universe, the competition doesn't happen here but dynamics are (somewhat) similar. the au takes place in a tiny fictional town by the sea, which is where the characters meet for the first time. the town is haunted as fuck btw and no one can figure out why

bryce is the only one out of batch 1 that ever left the town, and is moving back home for break after having left several years prior for college. his sister (stella) is missing which is what prompted him to leave in the first place. his thalassophobia plays a role in the story as despite being an aquatic mammal (leopard seal) he is terrified of water and never goes near the ocean.

airy is a mysterious long time resident of the town who mostly keeps to himself? some traumatic event several years ago cost him an eye and made him retire early, so he spends his time making and selling sculptures. he knows more about the town's history than anyone else

amelia is a part-time yoga instructor as well as attends the local college (of which she is a part of the swim team because shes an otter idk). she and airy are kind of friends but she doesn't know nearly as much as he does about the town itself

liam also attends the local college and lives in an apartment off campus. not much to say about him hes just a normal guy who is about to have a Very bad time :)

charlotte and parker are also there, and as of the beginning of the au they aren't on speaking terms. charlotte routinely goes to the local hospital to treat her infection and tends to get into a lot of trouble with the authorities

all of batch one grew up together and were childhood friends before stella's disappearance (minus charlie, who isnt present in the au, and taylor who ends up moving in and its still a teen here. she works at the gas station)

the batch 2 contestants are also residents of the town and are more minor characters. some of the season 1 guys are here as well. julien is a famous filmmaker who moved to the town to get away from the spotlight and live a quiet life but obviously that plan goes tits up because nothing good can ever happen to anyone

so basically everyone is here and they reunite with each other and it's a fun time until it's not. also airy hit and killed stella with his truck in the same accident that made him lose his eye and no one knows that this happened

the first thing that strikes me with your ships is that everyone's so down to earth and peaceful? like im 100% theyre the calmest people to be around. they just smile at you and suddenly it feels like you're healing 🥺🥺🥺 like your ships are the kind of couple to just... enjoy life with their significant other and there's no complications between them (and if there were complications, it's due to circumstances surrounding them) (e.g: th.oma and nerina being separated from each other) (e.g: n being recognized as a villain once but he's just misunderstood) if there weren't any problems surrounding them, they would be living life the happiest together. ❤️❤️

Ok wait this is too fitting so I have to share some more lore fact I just had to think of regarding this:

SO this really shows at the "showdown" in bw when Amelia arrives at N's castle and he goes "So this will be it… the legendary battle of two heroes…" and he's SO upset about it because he got attached to her and- and Amelia refuses to battle him because he's her friend now and "I know you mean well but this is not the solution, we can find another way" She doesn't want any conflicts to ruin their relationship. And uhm yeah it continues when they get together. Yes there might be some arguments like in every relationship, but they overcome that, together always. <3

Treasure planet characters react to: accidentally hurting S/O in an argument and she runs and locks a door and the character begs her to let them in and her response is "... So you can hurt me again..?" (How I think they'd react at least)

Warnings: Pretty self explanatory- angst and fluff I guess..

Characters included: Captain Amelia, Dr. Delbert Doppler (separately, although I do love those two together) Jim Hawkins, John Silver (cyborg) (S/O goes by Y/n, she you and they)

Captain Amelia:

The beginning of the movie I thought she was a bit stuck up/uptight, full of herself so I think she would think y/n was just trying to make her feel bad so they could win the argument

and that she didn't actually hurt her

But when y/n says that she realizes and her heart SINKS she doesn't really know how to handle emotions well in my opinion (I envy those who can)

She wouldn't know what to do, she'd feel defeated and doesn't make another move towards you.

I think She'd probably make Jim talk to y/n for her and would keep her distance until y/n is comfortable, then grab y/ns hands and give her a very lengthy apology

She'd be rambling and would look stupid because you already forgave her 😂

Dr. Delbert Doppler:

Doesn'tt normally argue with you. (Personally I think he's a kiss up)

I don't think y/n would normally care because he's very clumsy and he's probably accidentally hit her before (like barely) when they're not even arguing, just a total accident.

But it was the way he flipped out about it is what scared her and why she ran and he already had teary eyes when she runs

(the only reason she'd say that is if she was having a panic attack)

but when she says that he just starts crying silently and just sits by the door and waits until she calms down.

I feel like once she calms down a few hours later she finally opens the door and sees him still by the door struggling to stay awake.

She'd ask him to cuddle and neither of them would talk until morning.

He'd probably try to make her favorite breakfast and would feel awful about what happened for the rest of the week

like days after it happens he keeps apologizing and she's just like "babe. I love you, but stop" 🤣

Jim Hawkins:

(I know he's literally the main character but I have no clue how to write him, still tried tho)

He wouldn't fully comprehend what just happened at first but once he does his hands start shaking.

He let out a sad apology then just leaves

He comes back to fix things after the cyborg guy (John Silver) gave him a pep talk

when she finally lets him hug her he starts crying and rambling Apologies while burying his face in the crook of her neck holding her tightly

I feel like he bottles a lot of things up so something tipping his emotions over the edge like this causes an overflow, you've never seen him look so fragile before.. 🥺

John Silver:

He's a big softy so the thought of hurting his S/O is his worst nightmare

The second it happens his eyes well up and he's like a deer In the headlights

when y/n tries to run he goes to grab her hand apologizing swearing to make it up to her but he scared her more

When she said that he just leaves her alone probably leaves for like 3 days

but when he comes back he has a

crap ton of treasure he stole jewelry/gems you name it just to make it up to her but she'd already forgiven him and was just really worried when he didn't come back

He'd definitely spoil his S/O on a regular day so something like this makes him go a bit overboard 🤏

(Just watched this movie for the first time and I'm bummed there's not a whole lot of fanfiction worthy characters, I considered doing Scroop (scorpion guy) but I'm pretty sure that character would genuinely be abusive so, No. I could have done the robot guy B. E. N, But I figured that might be awkward especially if it's before he got his brain pice back, it's really hard to envision him In a relationship as well unless she's also a robot, he is a sweetheart tho I really like his character..

in the “all i need” universe what are amelia, arthur & ruth’s favourite songs from their dad?🥺

Helloo, I'm dying about Matty's hotness but that's an everyday thing now 😅 How are you? 💙

Omg, I love this questions! You guys make me think about a lot of details, I love it!

Well, I think the kids change their minds a lot as time goes by and they understand more what daddy is talking about in his songs! When Amelia is little, her favourite song --and it's in the story-- is Sincerity Is Scary because she likes the rhythm not that she can fully understand what the song is about 🤭 Even though she never stops loving it really and even try the other two to like it.

During that period they're all very little, they like the 'happy' and pop like songs... examples: UGH!, Me and You song, She's American, Happiness ,TOOTIME, etc. ALTHOUGH I like to picture Matty telling them about his Nana and linking it a little (without overwhelming them) with the song 🥺🥺

Andddd when they're older enough to understand...the three of them has different personalities. Like Amelia is Matty's princess, she's quiet and soft; she's in love with her drawings and painting, she gets a lot inside her head creating worlds and stories. I think 'Inside Your Mind' is one of her absolute favourites because when she's a teenager and start liking others romantically, she struggles because she's introverted and quiet...she wants someone to break her walls and understand who she is, what she likes, and love her for all that. Also the instrumental ones are her favourites too.

With Arthur is another story because he's the perfect mix of reader and Matty. He can be so shy and timid, and then SO CHAOTIC...getting in trouble and messing with her sisters until they cry. He has this soft side along with his rebel part. I think his favourite album is self-titled....and EVEN when he's a teen he tries to copy Matty's style after finding a pic of dad looking really cool and edgy 😅

And Mathilde Ruth is the definition of chaos when she's a teen. She's a NOTES girl through and through. Ruth fights for the right cause, defends her friends at school and fight the teaches if they're harsh with her classmates. Matty and reader has to visit her school a lot; reader sometimes gets annoyed with her but both of them are REALLY proud she's not afraid to speak...as her dad taught her 🤭 I like to think 'People' is not only the song she likes, it's HER SONG haha.

To end, I think they get a little weird listening BFIAFL song's because they KNOW they're about mom lol

I love seeing you mix it up with the characters, and I hope you don't mine this request. I was thinking Penny and Rooster? She gives me such adoptive mom vibes. I know your only just back taking requests for Rooster so if you're not into this, no problem at all!

I too love emeto, lol poor Roo, so maybe from the prompts, the one about retching and losing their voice, a deep breath that triggers a cough then a gag, and the one about staying in puke stained clothes (I had an idea about this one that's kinda off from the prompt, but Roo not wanting to change its his comfort sweatershirt, like maybe an old one belong to Mav, Goose, or even Ice. Penny calling Mav frantic about how to fix a stubborn Rooster, because he NEEDS to change, and Mav just being like "he's not being stubborn, he's scared and lonely 🥺)

We're getting some more teen!Bradley, being his usual angsty self. He's sick, leave him alone.

Warnings: emeto. Rooster is still lil Bradley Bradshaw, good with words when he wants to hurt those around him. He's a little emotional but he's not having a panic attack or anything.

"Hey, Penny, I gotta- there's an emergency on base, I have to go. Bradley should be fine, but would you mind keeping an eye on him?"

Penny glanced over her shoulder at the fifteen year old curled up on their couch, an eyebrow raised.

"What do I know about caring for teenagers, Pete?"

"Just do whatever feels right; except coddle him, whatever you do don't coddle him. Gotta go, love you."

Pete pressed one last kiss to her lips, kneeling in front of Bradley on the couch.

"B," he began softly, "I gotta run to base, but I won't be more than a couple hours. Do you want me to bring something back? Gatorade, pedialyte? Soup?"

Bradley shook his head, rolling on to his side facing the back of the couch. Penny grimaced, watching Pete kiss the top of his godson's forehead anyway before legging it out the door.

Look, I should start at the start.

Bradley had been off all week- he'd been rude, then quiet, and then randomly that morning he'd burst into tears before he had to go to school and Maverick had been scared something was really wrong so he'd let him stay home. It was around the time Pete and Penny were trying to live together for the first time, before she'd met her (now ex) husband and had Amelia. She'd been struggling to bond with Bradley, as much as he was polite he also insisted he didn't want another mother nor did he want her in Pete's life for her own good. For the time being, he was reserved around her. Pete insisted it was just everything that had happened; he didn't want to let anyone else in despite both Goose and Carole knowing Penny years before he was born.

That morning, Maverick had enough of his emotional turmoil and gave in, letting him stay home from school. Sure enough, the fever started twenty minutes later and he was gagging in the bathroom within the hour. Penny felt a little panicked; she'd never had to take care of a sick teenager, she wasn't a parent, and parenting didn't come naturally to her like it seemed to come to Pete (a majority of the time).

For the time being, he was asleep on the couch, unwilling to move to his room because he'd wanted to be close to Pete. Now that Pete was gone, Penny rounded the corner into the living area and knelt by where he was curled up.

"Do you have a fever?"

"Mav already checked it."

"Do you think you could keep some water down?"

"Mav already tried."

"Bradley-"

"-look, I appreciate the gesture, but please, just- leave me alone."

"Pete left you in my care, I have to make sure you see the light of day tomorrow."

Bradley glanced over his shoulder.

"He's gonna be gone that long?"

"Hopefully not, but we both know how it goes with base emergencies."

Bradley sniffed, wiping his nose on his sleeve.

"You look a little pale-"

"-yeah, well, my stomach hurts."

Penny glanced over, locating the bucket Pete had thankfully left by Bradley's side just in case. She'd been hearing that phrase my stomach hurts all morning, and it was usually followed by a round of vomiting. Sure enough, he sat up and she handed the bucket over, hesitantly rubbing his back. Bradley rested his arms on the rim, wincing as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. Penny cleared her throat.

"It might help if you take a deep breath, sometimes you can breathe through the nausea and you won't get sick," she offered. Brown eyes glanced up at her, and then she heard him try to get a full breath in. The deep breath triggered a cough and Penny winced when he retched, dry heaving into the bucket.

"Oh god, fuck, I hate this," he croaked hoarsely. Penny went to move her hand over his back but realised he'd sweated through his hoodie and slowly retracted, grimacing.

"You're burning up," she murmured. Bradley glanced up from where he'd had his head in the bucket, eyes darting around the room nervously.

"What is it?" Penny asked.

"It hurts," he complained. Penny frowned.

"Your stomach? I thought we'd established that-"

"-no, my throat."

Penny reached for the water bottle Maverick had left with him, offering it to Bradley as she took the bucket from him.

"You weren't actually sick, you need to drink something."

"Don't make me."

"Bradley..."

"Penny, dammit, I'm not drinking anything, okay? Nothing sits right, at least I won't bring anything up."

"It can tear your throat. It already hurts; the pain of tearing it is excruciating. Please, just a couple sips. I'm pretty sure Pete would dump me if he came home and you were worse."

"That's true... fine, hand it over."

Penny passed him the water bottle, watching him take a couple of hesitant sips. It must have clicked how dehydrated he actually was because before she could stop him, he was downing the whole thing.

"Do you think you should change your shirt?"

"No."

Penny knelt by where Bradley had migrated to the toilet bowl, grimacing as he looked up at her. She sent him a sympathetic look, but tried to keep it casual. Pete said not to coddle him, but to be fair she didn't really know how to coddle a teenager... or not coddle him. She reached for the hoodie again but Bradley tightened his hold on it.

"I need it, please leave it."

Penny raised an eyebrow, looking over the older hoodie. She wasn't sure where it was from but it had a familiar cologne on it under the- well. The reason she was trying to get him to take it off.

"Bradley... it's covered in puke."

"I don't care, Penny."

"Okay. Okay, alright."

Penny got up, carefully backing away from the bathroom. Bradley sniffed, shivering on the bathroom floor. Penny made her way through the house, locating her phone sitting on the kitchen counter. Pete was notorious for forgetting his, but she had to hope he'd remembered because she really needed his help.

"Maverick."

"Pete, it's Penny. Uh, how much longer do you think you're going to be?"

"Is Bradley worse?"

Maverick immediately sounded concerned, and she could almost feel him about to leave base against orders. She winced, glancing at the bathroom door that was now closed.

"No, he's- he's in this hoodie, it's covered in puke, and I keep trying to get him to get changed but he won't. His stubbornness is killing me here, Mav, what do I do?"

Maverick was quiet for a moment.

"What colour is the hoodie?"

"Uh- green? Dark green. Why?"

"It's Goose's. When he's really sick or feeling vulnerable, it comes out of his closet. I've been dousing it in Goose's cologne for years. Uh, look, don't worry about it. I should be home soon, we're still trying to get things under wraps here."

"He's just so stubborn."

Maverick chuckled.

"Penny, he's not stubborn, he's scared. This is the first time he's been sick without me or either of his parents there, and as much as he's trying to prove he's an adult he's still just a kid. I know he has his reservations about you being in the house, but he's a teenage boy and he's never adapted well to change so don't take it personally."

"How do I get him to not be scared?"

"You don't. Is he keeping down fluids, is he sleeping, have you been able to get him to eat anything?"

"He can keep water down for a couple hours, but it seems to come back up. He's been sleeping for the most part, and I haven't tried to get him to eat anything, he said even the smell of something solid will make him puke."

"That sounds normal. Okay, alright, look, I'll be home as soon as I can. Please just... be kind to him."

"I will. Thanks, Pete."

"See you soon."

Penny hung up her phone, tucking it into her pocket. She was surprised when she turned around to find Bradley leaning against the kitchen counter, sniffling.

"Sorry," he finally said. She crossed her arms, but she couldn't stay mad at the poor kid.

"It's okay. I'm sorry too."

"It might be gross to you, but I can still smell my dad on it, and I miss him."

“I know that now. That’s Goose’s hoodie, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Alright. How about I get you some paper towel, and we can make it tolerable until you feel well enough to wash it.”

Penny was already rounding the corner into the kitchen, producing a roll of paper towels followed by dish soap from the edge of the sink. Bradley regarded her for a moment.

“Soap?”

“Not going to wash it, I’m just worried about it staining. Can you give me the end of your sleeve? Either side.”

Reluctantly, Bradley stretched his arm out and let Penny dab at the stained fabric, frowning when she reached for the dish soap.

“It’s not going to change the smell, right?”

“Other than the barf smell, no. Mav told me this is the brand your mom used anyway, so if anything you get both parents.”

Bradley’s eyes watered and he reached his other sleeve up to frantically swipe at them. Penny glanced up at him.

“It’s okay to cry. I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now.”

“I miss them,” he choked out hoarsely, voice gone from vomiting and crying. Penny put a hand on his shoulder but didn’t push it, focusing on the puke stains.

“Is Mav mad?”

“What- no! No, Bradley, he’s just really worried about you. He’s coming home as soon as he can.”

He stifled a sob, abruptly getting up and walking away. Penny watched him for a moment, sighed, and suddenly had the urge to call her father and apologise for being so difficult after her mother died.

"Penny? Pen, Bradley?"

Maverick dumped his jacket and duffel bag at the door, kicking off his boots. Penny was asleep under a blanket on the couch, snoring softly, but she looked peaceful. Maverick frowned, rounding the corner to Bradley's room. He too looked asleep at first glance, but Maverick knew he had to check his fever so he carefully navigated the mess on the floor to kneel by him and put a hand to his forehead.

"Hmmm... Mav?"

"Hey, kid. How are you feeling?"

"Like shit."

"Your stomach is still upset?"

"Not like it was. I think I'm out the other side."

"Your fever's lower, which is a good sign. When was the last time you puked?"

"I think it was around eleven, nothing since. I can't really remember what happened since then; what time is it?"

"Nearly two am."

Bradley hummed, yawning. Rolling on to his side, he reached out and Maverick wrapped him in a hug.

"Wait; where's your hoodie?"

Maverick glanced around the room frantically when he realised Bradley was in a simple black t-shirt, no green hoodie to be found. He gestured toward the bedroom door.

"Penny managed to peel it off me, she said it was going through a recovery process and should be good to go in five to seven business days."

Maverick stifled a snort, pressing a kiss to his godson's temple.

"Alright then, I'll make sure it gets back to you. Go back to sleep, I'm only down the hallway."

"I know Mav, thanks."

Bradley yawned again, before burying himself back under his blanket. Maverick made his way back out of the room, grimacing.

"B? This weekend, if you're feeling a little better, can you pick up a little?"

"Sure thing Mav," Bradley replied drowsily. The way he replied told Maverick he'd have grounds to deny the conversation ever happened.

"Hey, what time did you get home?"

Penny wandered into the kitchen the next morning, stretching as she yawned to herself. Maverick offered her a cup of coffee and a kiss, smiling at her.

"Good morning. I got in around 2 but I went straight in to check on Bradley. I hope he wasn't too much yesterday, I'm sorry for leaving you like that. I could have taken him to Ice and Sarah's, I was just worried-"

"-he's been moved around enough already, Pete. If you ever need me to, I'm happy to watch him. He's a good kid, just fighting his own demons."

Maverick's eyebrows raised, and then he relaxed. He suddenly looked a lot more like the man she knew when she was in her twenties, fun-loving and kind. Ever since Carole died, he'd constantly frowned.

"Thank you," he finally said, "thank you."

"Is there waffles?"

Bradley wandered into the kitchen, but paused in the doorway when he realised Penny and Maverick were kissing.

"Oh, for fuck's sake. I just stopped puking."

"Bradley!"

I’ve been reading your fics (besides the ones I already knew*) and I really feel like I opened a treasure chest and I’m taking out gem after gem.

I have to talk about some of them, otherwise I will explode:

I Will Always Be There For You, Brother - when I thought that I wouldn’t tear up more than I did after that scene when Carlos tells Lando that he can go and reunite with their parents, the last chapter made me cry in the middle of a public transport (glad I wear a mask, so I could cover it up a little). Carlos saving Amelia in the accident, he telling her where her parents are…together with his parents… My eyes are filled with tears again just remembering it. Carlos and Lando as brothers is just beautiful. Carlos and Nico are just perfect (I wanted to hug Nico when he opened Lando’s eyes). Lando and Sacha are so so sweet, loved the Sacha’s pov chapter 🥰 I understand why this story is your baby. It’s perfect!

About Dreams - when they see Mariella for the first time 🥰 Really this story is so so sweet. Mariella and Amelia are so so sweet!

Carlos and his boys - 🥵 My. God.

Until your birthday - this one has such a romantic movie vibe 🥰

Those spoilers make my head hurt. Not a single decent storyline in so very, very long. Yet audience's are choosing to kill EE instead of fleeing ED and giving us the hope of a new producer. I hate this time line. 🥺

I mean…is Eastenders any better? All I hear is how terrible that is too.

I was thinking about the run down of all of the stories and how I feel about them. Mostly they’re all just empty.

We have Faith’s terminal cancer story which is just depressing because it means we’re losing a character I do actually like. But it also feels silly that we were just here a year ago with her arthritis story when she was lying to everyone and Brenda and Eric were covering. I kind of liked that better even if I have enjoyed the Moira and Faith scenes for the most part. I liked all of the older characters being friends. I want a bit of that back before she goes. Give me that Mary/Faith friendship I deserve. But the real problem with this story is of course her monster children who have become so unlikeable at this point that I don’t blame Faith in the least for not telling them and I dread them finding out because I’m sure they’ll still be extra annoying but in new ways. So that part of the story makes it really hard to care.

The Noah story is…okay? But obviously I don’t care about Chloe as an actual character. While I hate everyone yelling that Kerry and Amy are hypocrites for wanting Noah to get what he deserves, they’re not totally wrong. It would be better if they were more self aware at least. I don’t completely hate Mack’s involvement but I hate how Charity keeps getting mad at him and their relationship is terrible and I want them to break up. I do also think it’s weird that Vanessa hasn’t even so much as commented on all of this considering she was essentially Noah’s step mom for a few years. I mean I think this story would be a perfect way to bring Vanity back together a bit because it would make sense for Vanessa to weigh in but they’re too busy isolating her with Suzy is way more there for Leyla’s story. And lastly, I still just want to know if this Noah stuff is going to drop off after the sentencing or just escalate.

The whole Jamie saga is infuriating because if Alex Lincoln isn’t coming back then what is the goddamn point? Even if he does come back for a cameo or more, like who cares? His exit wasn’t really all that interesting except for that one shot of him with Millie in the end. Just let him win and leave him be. He’s not an interesting character. And all this being tied into Kim and Will’s relationship? Ugh. I still do not buy them as a couple. At all. So I don’t care. Kim needs someone to really thaw her and sweep her off her feet or really challenge her and she still mostly treats Will like a business deal.

Leyla’s coke addiction story isn’t bad as a concept and I think Roxy is doing well with what she has to work with. I just think it all could have been executed better. I mean I understand that she’s experienced a lot of trauma recently, with Leanna’s death and dealing with Liam’s grief and then the miscarriage and not really being able to grieve that. And then getting shot by Meena. I can see how she might turn to drugs, I just wish we saw it. I’d rather have seen her trying to manage a wedding and losing it and Suzy being there because she was working the event with her and being like “I have something to take the edge off” and then going from there. You still could have had the reveal of her dating Vanessa to Leyla and everything after that would have been the same. It’s just that the viewers would have known longer but it all would have felt less random.

The Suzy/Moira/Holly of it all is still just odd. I mean yes it can give Moira closure but Moira has so much else going on with Faith and Cain’s inevitable anger that I don’t know that she needed this too. And do I really care about Suzy’s guilt? No.

Amelia’s story isn’t bad but I still feel like they haven’t done enough with the teens as a group to really establish proper friendships and dynamics between them. They’ve all mostly had a story or two to know them a bit as individuals but they were all pretty isolating stories so we really never see them interact so it’s harder to care now. Leyla snapping at Priya due to the drugs feels more impactful because of their years of friendship that we’ve seen compared to Amelia snapping at Cathy who five minutes ago was an internet bully herself.

Mary being a lesbian I saw coming the moment she told that story about her neighbor friend that died. I get why they waited till Pride month to do it and honestly, it’ll probably be at least better than the sad and terrible pride episode last year because at least there will be focus on an actual lgbt character. So there’s that. But we’ll have to wait and see. Not thrilled with Rhona outing her. Side note: can Mary and Kim have a thing because I’d rather that than Kim and Will. Haha.

Marcus and Ethan continue to move at light speed for seemingly no reason which just leaves us waiting for the other Pierce shaped shoe to drop. They’re cute all now but there’s no depth and the vague ominous possibilities looming in the future make it hard to invest. Also the whole racist attack story seemed to only exist to give them a reason to move in together and that’s…a choice.

This Nicola attack story in a vacuum is not the worst idea even if it is incredibly random. But the one article I read said it’s going to be more focused on the aftermath and how she feels/ptsd etc. And my issue there is twofold. One, she’s not like Seth in the classic episodes, getting mugged by a couple of teen girls and then not wanting to tell people or leave the house. She’s Nicola King, she’s tougher than that. Two, we just had this Billy attack and then the Ethan attack and neither one of them are getting a ptsd story. We’re just moving on and forgetting it even happened. And then you have Priya and Leyla still having ptsd effects from the Meena stuff so they’re sort of already telling those kinds of stories. Do we need one more that’s so random? Which I suppose brings me to a third point, back to the Seth example, that was a rare occurrence. Now everyone is getting attacked that it hardly feels like a major thing. It is just Tuesday in Emmerdale and then we move on. It feels empty and like they just lack the imagination to come up with something different.

There’s David’s money problems that have come out of absolutely nowhere and to what end? They already did the covid slump story with the pub. If they’re not going to actually give me a new shop owner or something to shake things up the way they didn’t with the pub, then tell me why I should care? And the David/Vic relationship stuff really is dead in the water and they should give it up. So if this story does that, then fine but I doubt it will.

The Marlon story I still think is doing well at least. That has had better pacing than everything else for me at least. He hasn’t been miraculously healed in two days but he’s making enough progress each time we see him to keep the story moving along and to show that some people do come back from this. And the Mary/Marlon scenes have been nice and it’s given April a bit to do too, far away from Cathy.

There’s the idiotic caravan story with Sam and Lydia, which I recognize half my hatred for comes from just not liking Sam due to my dislike of James Hooten and his politics. But aside from that…I do think it’s good to have small stakes comedy stories. I just think my threshold for Dingle hi jinx has long since been passed. But also it feels like something that should be like a one to two week comedy subplot, not something that’s going to span the summer. Like who cares?! And where did Lydia’s sudden caravan obsession come from? Also, I feel like Lydia and Sam don’t work as well as they used to. When they first got together, she was much kookier and fit with him better but now that she’s been transferred into more of the Lisa roll of the Dingle Clan, it feels more like she’s just managing a child and…blech. We have enough of that with Chaddy and Charity and Mack.

Then there’s still the Cain and Al feud lying dormant that I hear is going to stretch till October somehow and wow do I not care or want to see it.

So yeah…new producers when?
