one thing that just breaks my heart about byler is that Will has been loved unconditionally all his life. by Joyce, by Jonathan.

but Mike has been brought up in a family where he constantly has to prove himself worthy of this love.

I can just imagine their relationship teaching Mike that love shouldn't be conditional, and that he's worthy of it no matter what he does, just for who he is.

funny thing I noticed recently:

in Welly Boots, there's a line that says 'what do you mean, you've lost your scarlet welly boots, do you know what they cost?'

initially I thought it said 'what the cost', which brings a much more serious element in: as though there's danger in not having your scarlet welly boots, rather than just having to buy some more, because they're expensive.

this is very characteristic of the amazing devil: taking something with double meanings, one mundane, one graver.

it just makes me wonder if Joey pronounced it ambiguously deliberately!

just listened to episode 100 of WTNV (I'm slowly getting through them all) and dear god I am EMOTIONAL. it was so sweet!!

I love how they slowly but surely revealed what they were celebrating. it went from some vague party to a celebration of Cecil and Carlos to a wedding with each different character, in true Night Vale fashion.
