god i hate smug athiests so so much
if you go around saying shit like "lol religion is stupid and only idiots have faith" you are just as much of an obnoxious asshole as christian proselytizers sorry
if you wanna have a real discussion on the merits of faith you need to start from a good faith perspective where you DON'T assume everyone who disagrees with you is a moron who can be disregarded. consider for two seconds that you arent the super genius you think you are, and something that is present in literally every human culture throughout history might, in fact, be slightly more load-bearing than you think.

Hey there, i just read a shard of ice and its really good! Also your love for the witcher series <3 Do you think Vergil would do what Geralt does with his last wish from the djinn? Where he binds his and yen's fate together? Thank you!^^
Helloooo! Oh I'm so glad you enjoyed that one, it was really personal to me ^^
And YES, I love The Witcher!! I have to go back reading the books - Yen and Geralt's relationship is one of my favourites even if it isn't perfect. I'd argue it's precisely because it isn't perfect.
Plus, I love Geralt's adventures as a witcher around the world. It's always a treat to read ❤
Now, regarding your ask about Vergil... ABSOLUTELY. He's a dramatic storm that is approaching, 10/10 would do that.
But let's dive into it!
For those who don't know, in the first book of The Witcher series, The Last Wish, our dear Geralt de Rivia falls for Yennefer and, as she is about to be killed by a djinn who is very much pissed at her (long story), Geralt has a last wish to be fullfilled by said djinn. He ties his fate to Yen's and thus the djinn cannot kill her - saving her in the proccess. She thinks he is out of his mind because she sees what he just did as a way to doom himself, but he doesn't care. Of course, Yen falls for him but she's too proud and prizes her freedom too much to officially tie herself to Geralt.
Like I said, they are complicated and less than perfect. It's wonderful ❤
Now to our beloved Vergil.
He would NEVER do it to a loved one if there were other alternatives to save their life. BUT, if that was the ONLY choice, he would.
Since the whole last wish thing is with Yen, not Ciri, I'm going to take a look at Vergil's relationship with a romantic partner ;)
Of two things we are certain about him: Vergil can survive virtually anything and drag his body through the most adverse of situations by sheer will; and he is traumatized and afraid to lose those he loves/being unable to protect them.
If by any chance he and his s/o ever found themselves on a situation where the only solution is to tie his s/o fate to his for them to survive, Vergil would do it without flinching.
After all, he spent his whole life in a mindless quest for power to be able to protect himself - and others, even if he tries to deny it with all his might. He is indeed powerful and able to protect himself against the most vicious of foes - he can't say the same about his s/o. So, if his s/o's fate is tied to his, it won't be by his death that they will perish. It will never be by his death.
Of course, does he take into consideration the heartache that such a powerful bond can create? Like our dearest Geralt, no. Vergil is cold and calculating, sure, but he has a short temper streak just like his brother. The only difference is that, unlike Dante, Vergil doesn't go all out screaming and going in a volcano flaming demon frenzy - he glares and goes in an ice cold demon frenzy. But they are both short tempered, no one can change my mind on that one xD
Vergil can and will use logic and calculate everything. He will be cautious, observing and swift when dooming his enemies. But, if you take him by his heart, you'll have controlled-by-emotions Vergil. He doesn't really know how to deal with those, so they are mostly dreanched in anger, hurt, trauma, melancholy and protection instinct. His logic is out of question, the only thing left is a tunnel focus on being powerful to protect the one thing that can break his glass-fragile heart once more.
He can't afford to lose the very few things he has. He is 100% emotion driven, he does whatever he must (you know, like the whole DMC 5 ordeal to friggin' survive). When he's back at himself again, their fates are already tied.
And honestly? That can be his death sentence - it can shatter his heart, tear his soul apart, cause him grief and mourning in the long run... But he doesn't regret it. He never will.
It might end like Yen and Geralt in the books, or Yen and Geralt in the games. Either way, he would consider himself lucky to, after everything he did and lived through, love and be loved in such an intense way, be its end bitter or sweet.
Gods, I LOVED your question. HAHAHA thank you for sending it! It was surely a lovely thing to think about! I hope you have a great week ❤

The constant overhyping of anything and everything Connor Bedard does is ridiculous and it’s going to come back and bite the NHL in the ass.
If you tell a literal child that he’s the best thing since ice was invented and then ask him to lead you to victory, you’re either going to get:
A Harry-Potter-esque asshat with a raging savior complex that will be the thorn in the side of every team he’s on from now until retirement
OR
A person so emotionally crippled by Former Gifted Kid Syndrome that he ends up either fading out sadly or blowing his career to smithereens because it’s too much pressure.
Possibly both.
Also to be very real, other players have had better debuts. Auston Matthews, for example.

Did you see Coral’s entire section… especially her “history” scroll? What’s your opinion?
I'm just honestly in love with how Tui writes her as being so full of herself and completely ridiculous. It's really fun. I don't know how people still think Coral is at all a halfway decent person when she literally acts like this (and also is a abusive parent)(and a horrible queen). She's very silly here and I just think it's really nice characterization. A funny little comedic section.
"There are some scurrilous alternate versions of this truth being spread around by a few spiteful NightWings and SandWings. Do not listen to them! There was a plan all along and Queen Coral was definitely in on it." God I love her. She wants to be so important and seen as the best queen ever so bad and it's just so good.

Interacting with that post about Ovorwxtch's dubious canonicity really poisoned my fyp with a lot of Ovurwetch content, ironically including ppl being Super Mad at apparent inaccuracies in that original post... except I'm already seeing those fans disagree with each other over what is and isn't canon, which I can't help but feel kinda strenghtens Prokopetz's point.

thoughts about the unity news
even if they will reverse the decisions/changes they announced about the extra pricing, this has woken unity devs up from their loyalty to the software (or just generally, opened up the gamedev and public eyes to how.... unity is a commercial company)
honestly surprised ppl were still using it for 2D games, like i get it. official support and other plugins etc,but from what I've heard from other devs they always had issues w unity for 2D games and those took more time to fix vs having a dedicated 2D games engine that maybe took longer to learn
anyway, I guess I'm glad I never got too into it beyond school and other collab projects?? commercial software companies always do stuff like this, as I remember the first time I'd quit Photoshop around 2010, so opensource seemed better in many ways in the long term, and this applies to gamedev software too. yeah, ok, living is more expensive in general, maybe they really just want to make more money for their own devs... but either they saw this coming and are intentionally trying to tank the company (CEO selling the stocks ahead of the announcement?) or they are just really inept at business.

"theres too many words for sexuality now" lovey these issues are online for the most part. 1. no one has an issue irl if I use sub-section words to deeper describe me, a complex human being, who experiences many things because that is the curse of brains. In fact they tend to embrace it and say 'oh okay i get it, i understand you more now'. 2. until online fuckers (and many irl ones) can get over themselves about shit like lesbian being an umbrella term for anyone who experiences lesbian feelings, YEAH we're gonna be a little divided. Separatism is like. a known issue. There are books about it. Lani's biphobia shield wasn't just for protection from the cishets. Bears are divided and sub-divided. The Sex Wars? Anyone? Radical Feminists stabbing at studs and butches still? IDK go read Dykes to Watch Out For, you sound like Mo.

Setting aside deep thoughts about the two fandom communities themselves because other people with more energy and skills are doing it better than me, it is on some level darkly and deeply hilarious as something of a d20 outsider to watch the loud minority of absolute dipshits get up on their haunches about the possibility that Matt Mercer might not "respect the established fanlore" that is 1. A queer headcanon shared by about 10 loud people and 2. About people made of literal candy. People are crying and throwing fits and insulting a man directly in public about what they feel he might or might not do - not even what he's done! - over sugar with sentience. It feels like satire of itself, like the inverse of actually watching a show about sugar people and the brutality and horror within it. But at least that has the excuse of being a story. These people are showing their asses to living, breathing people in real life... over candy people.

As I start posting Type O Negative stuff I want it known that I do not like Peter Steele as a person. Great voice, great music, doesn’t look half bad. But if some sort of twisted curse brought him back to life and I met him? I would at least try to deck him in the face. I am here for the music and for the music alone.
Any and all attempts to talk to me about Peter Steele being hot or the shit he said being excusable will be met with mockery. I know this is one hell of a thing to say but I am glad he’s not amongst the living anymore.

I don’t have context for this yet, but a white horror author attacking the work of a latinx writer by way of mocking fans of her works is a really strange way to go about things

I know there’s a bunch of people in the world who act wild as fuck, entitled, snotty, overbearing, just straight up insane.
And I think a significant percentage of them would stop their bullshit if more people in their lives responded to their insane shit by looking them in the eye and calmly asking them “What the fuck is wrong with you?” If their justifications for their behavior sounds unhinged, ask it again.
Remaining calm and maintaining a flat delivery is important. Any hint of emotion will spur the offending person to be even more obnoxious.

I think one of the funniest things about the twitter refugees is gonna be watching them learn about the block button
like on twitter you can block someone for being a neonazi asshat who called you twelve different slurs within their character limit and you still get shit for "censoring alternative opinions"
on tumblr, someone can be like, "I love anchovies on pizza" and you're like "nah that's some red flag shit" and you block them

A brutally honest take on Ukraine from a U.S. Army Veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq that is also a Purple Heart recipient (edited):
I have never and will never support the war in Ukraine. I now understand the Military Industrial Complex and the trillions spent off of the lives of US, the people.
If you do support the war, this post is going to offend the shit out of you.
And I honestly don’t care what you think. Some of you may agree, and some of you probably truly need to hear this.
I have been shot at, blown up, returned fire, everything imaginable. War is serious shit. This is not Call of Duty, this is real fucking life. The term “War is hell”, is coined for a reason.
First: I will start with NATO and Europe.
Why the hell are we in NATO if they don’t barely lift a finger for shit? Why is America always the one that will carry the burden of these asshats. Even President Trump commented TODAY and was almost begging for an end to this. To NATO: If you want this war so badly, then grab a compass and head due East.
Second: You can say whatever you want about President Trump. You can like the man, or you can hate him. However, you cannot argue the point that none of this bullshit was going on when he was President. Just throwing that out there. This is an undeniable fact.
Third: Why is it that it took an Airman to leak classified documentation to totally disprove the efforts in Ukraine? Don’t you notice how this story has been completely wiped from the mockingbird media? They are concealing the truth as well. American taxpayers have been lied to since this began.
Fourth: Where is all of our American taxpayer money going? Let’s be honest about it. How do you “over-calculate” over $6 BILLION DOLLARS of our money for this effort? Where exactly is it going? Into Politician or Zelenskyy’s pockets? If any of us made an “accounting error” on our taxes, we would all be in prison now. This is fraud, waste and abuse putting it lightly.
Fifth: This brings me to another point. Are politicians making money off of this war effort? If so, sorry to say, but you belong in prison. Plain and simple. And that is bipartisan speaking. There are Americans working 2-4 jobs at times just to make ends meet. People are recovering from a lockdown that YOU created.
Sixth: To the Americans backing this war. Why don’t you book yourself a flight to Kyiv and partake in this fight? It’s easy as fuck to be okay with war, while you’re chilling with your Starbucks in your comfortable environment. You love to criticize our country but have never contributed a fucking thing to it.
Last: Why are we not discussing diplomacy? There have been ZERO attempts to sit down like grown fucking men and come to an agreement. None. It is all too clear that they want this war to continue.
I sure as hell don’t claim to know everything, but this bullshit has gone on long enough.
To the dickheads who will inevitably cherry-pick this tweet know this, your opinion does not matter to me. You can comment, but I won’t give you the benefit of replying. Thanks for playing.
I know this is a very long-winded post. But if you took the time to read, thank you for listening.
