#i’m gonna have a very therapeutic lay on the ground for an hour tonight #i’m so fucking exhausted #also unrelated but vaguely related #the other day i told my supervisor i didn’t know how to do something she asked me to do #which was very hard for me! bc i’m not good at asking for help bc i don’t like to be annoying #anyways i asked her on friday and she never responded and i was like ‘ok she’s probably gone for the weekend and she’ll answer on monday’ #then i looked today and she just reacted with a 👍 to my message instead of. telling me how to do it #so i’m still stressed out about that but. girl i am so tired #i also promised myself i won’t get high in the middle of the week this week. so this is a test from god #and i may fail that test #we’ll try again next week #personal

#tomorrow i either pass clinical psych or i don't pass. or i get a 3 and i'm forced to consider if it's worth trying again or not #that's fine. then i try to do something with the school psych assignment over the weekend #then i do a bit of preparing for the stupid fucking neuropsych online exam. so I don't go in blind #you gotta know how to cheat and how to use your notes y'know what i mean. #and then i start studying for the comprehensive exam and also work on the research paper #and if i fail clinical psych i can try again one or two weeks later (can't really do one bc i don't want to be back here that week) (so two) #and if i fail the comprehensive exam (or if it's crap like it's a 2 or a 3. bc it kind of needs to be a 5 bc of the degree grade) then i #try again on may 7 #and if i don't manage to finish the research paper by may 6 for the first check‚ i still have until the 19th to do it #i will make it through if it kills me.. and it shouldn't like if this tests my limits then i deserve to be hit with a #giant hammer until i die 💀

He had done his best.

But like anyone in his situation, seeing his child in danger...he may have panicked a little more than necessary- alright. He lost it. Just a bit.- He'd just finished up picking up some soda for the fridge (note: to celebrate his son deciding to begin training to attend U. A.), when a villain had attacked. It wasn't anything grand- anything out of the ordinary.

He'd been bogged down by life- by the whole 'save' day in and day out, the duality of his existence. Ever since the 'accident', he'd been forced to remain home more...which wasn't all that bad. He had the green-haired kid's smiling face to come home to, though sometimes he'd seen tears...he tried his best- he always tried his best- but he was pulling apart at the seams.

Work, work, work, work...it had consumed him, most of the kid's life...but he still did his best, tried to be there...and now, tracking that sludge villain, he'd seen something he'd never hoped to see as a father.

His son, being suffocated by a villain.

Perhaps he'd put too much force behind his punch, perhaps Midoriya was just on the edge of consciousness- whatever the case, it didn't matter. He'd gathered the sludge villain into the soda bottles (after emptying them, sorry son...)- and turned his attention towards the KO'd kid.

Wake up wake up wake up wake up wake up,--- and now here he was, gently slapping Izuku's cheek, praying to the stars that the boy's eyes would open. He'd even taken the time to sign Midoriya's notebook- the thirteenth in a long line of notebooks that he'd watched the kid develop over the years... That he'd helped with, on occasion. But even as 'All Might's personal assistant', he'd never managed to find a good time to snag the notebook so 'All Might' could sign it- so when the opportunity presented itself to make the kid's day...he hadn't been able to resist.

Finally, seeing those green eyes flicker back to consciousness, he pulled his hand back- smiling that big smile, though it may have been a hint bigger, at the moment. His wrists were covered by white bands- he was glad he'd thought to wear them today, otherwise the dots may have been connected.

"Ahah! Thought we lost you, there!" He had to stop himself from hugging Midoriya. I'm All Might, he had to remind himself- I'm All Might. Though he knew, once he 'got home from work', he'd be pulling the kid into a hug- explanation be damned. "Glad to see you're alright, kid!"

before taking my road test i did genuinely think everyone who said some of them will try to trip you up or be overly harsh were just sorta stretching the truth, but after how stupid my test was i understand.

i ended up autofailing bcz it was a two lane (same direction) parking lot where there were signs and cones saying one side was for the road test & one was for regular vechicles EXCEPT FOR ONE VERY SMALL AREA ONLY AT THE BEGINNING. but then she proceeded to make me continue on and do a parallel park, making me assume i didnt do anything wrong, and then have me circle back to the beginning and THEN fail me.

not only that, but she.. lied? about me not using my blinker when either going in or leaving the park????? which i straight up did do????? 🥲

#i think id have been less devastated by the fail if the just immediately told me to turn back around bcz i failed at the bad signage #i genuinely think that if anyone else saw that signage theyd be confused too. in fact im pretty sure my instructor didnt even know #bcz we needed to turn right but instead of going over to that tiny area that clips into the road test section #we went the long way around so we didnt go in that lane #the lesson i went to before my test was two hours and heavily inconvenient for my sponsor so to go through all of that and autofail.. #odds are w her id have failed anyway. i genuinely dont see why she lied about the blinkers but AT LEAST if i went through the whole test & #failed it wouldve hurt but at least i could walk away knowing it wasnt as stupid as it was #now i have to renew my id bcz i wont have a license. and renew my permit. and pay $200+ for another test bcz i dont have #a car that can be used for the regular rmv. and now im paying rent for a place i cant even go to yet bcz the next rmv appt is in MID MAY #(the rent thing is normal and i did plan for it. but if you havent experienced rmvs 'post' covid.. you dont even do the test there. #you 'check in' and leave to do it at your house.) #i may try to beg my ride that i now 100% need to drive me to a further out one but. sighs. who knows #i ❤️ lifeeee #diary #sorry this is so long lol. im not as inconsolable as yesterday but now im just annoyed #i also wish to stress that while i love my car i fucking hate driving #my reward for getting my license is high car insurance and paying a ton for gas? Math is not going well

One thing I’ll always have to give the Pokémon franchise credit for is their refusal to shy away from dark subject matter

Being the highest grossing franchise ever I feel like it’d be SO easy to just dumb down the stories and concepts to make it more palatable for younger audiences, but Pokémon’s pretty much always had sinister undertones from the start and has stuck by them since, be it with darker storylines or the occasional ominous Pokédex entry

#like they may have toned it down *a little* in the semi-recent games #but then comes games like Legends Arceus #where they straight up go ‘yeah if you fail this test we’re gonna exile you from our village’ #‘and you’ll either succumb to the elements or be eaten by wild Pokémon’ #and then there’s scarlet/violet too #which tbh I’d say is even darker than legends #dc talks #ANYWAY. that’s all my thoughts that I had to get out #pokemon
