1. A New Work - The Logic of Color

Johanna and Annie, after everything ends, and how they fall into each other.

this is not, in fact, my newest work BUT it was the first new thing i posted in 2024 after basically taking a year off and is also my best new work so that’s why it features. i wanted a break from the behemoth and i wrote this over like two days. i feel kind of like i’m beating a dead horse when i tell you i have once again written something about grief but like. this is just about grief and also how to move on and become a person again

i am so proud of this one. i really am. it’s one of the best things i’ve ever written with an unreliable narrator and what i feel is a nuanced and realistic portrayal of domestic abuse. i know why people don’t want to read it but there’s a reason I put it on this reclist. if you like my writing and haven’t read it i do believe you are missing out.

3. An Old Work - i do love you so.

this one is just really, really toothrottingly sweet. i was like you know what would be fun. having someone romance Andy bc she fuckin deserves it and Quỳnh is back so let’s have at it. it was so much fun to write and it reminds me of the beautiful moments and community tog fandom created especially in the very early days

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

Not sure if this counts since I've written some Andromaquynh, but I hope to try my hand at something more centred on their relationship!

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Already answered, so I will pick another! This is from Eight Minutes (apologies I keep mentioning this fic, i tried to find another) and idk it stuck with me after I wrote it. Something something privacy and intimacy, something something immortal gay love...

In their single room apartment, with its peeling linoleum floor and closet-sized kitchen, nothing gets in but the rain from the one leaky window. It's a terrible flat, by any standards, but the doors lock and the fridge is cold and the mattress is small but comfortable. So rare it is, for them to have such luxuries. Joe had shed his clothes and crawled into bed, and Nicky had drawn the blinds so even the rain couldn't see in.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Also already answered, but I'll add another! Not sure if this counts but Mary surprised me with making a beautiful moodboard set for my mystery series and it's one of the best gifts I've ever received!! <3

Any relief is short-lived as they keep switching back and forth, never in the same space, and if Quỳnh can't get free from the iron coffin soon, the switches might actually be killing Andy...

Ot3 fake-dating fanfic idea:

Your main character has a top secret job that they have to travel a lot for - when asked by their date why they had to leave in a hurry, in a panic they said it's because they're actually poly/ in an open relationship and have to go home to their partner. They don't expect to get a second date after that, but lo and behold actually the date calls back and over time they get into a mostly long-distance relationship - in which the lies about their 'other relationship' quickly pile up...

Now the date wants to meet the other partner, maybe because the main character made them seem much too nice - and now they have to pretend to be in a relationship with their co-worker....

Please @ me if anybody writes this, no matter the fandom!

My top post results almost got skewed by memeing to 1 thing again! Not as badly as last year with 100% ESC content, but Goncharov definitely made it in xD even though I made most of the posts, all the non Katya/Sofia ones rly, on sideblogs... Thankfully lmao! Also # N°2!!!

Apropos top hashtags, x is my tag to separate rambling from search tags so that's obviously on a lot of posts... & It's cool that Andromaquynh is apparently still my most blogged about, or at least most tagged, ship! Though that it's the only ship in the top 10 is also rather fascinating

I was gonna say ExcUse YOu tumblr, I gave 2 gifts this year??? Then realized it might have been from a different account

Anyway I gave crabs twice, I wanted to give someone checkmarks for her birthday the second time but that wasn't possible so crabs it was!

I am telling yalls, it is hard to find pretty cast pictures for a specific colour palette, and then make a mooboard look pretty! XD I was never entirely happy with this one, so in the end I also made a blue and a pink version with those and other pictures I had found :)
