This is a 'daydream/fantasy' version of Ferdinand, otherwise he would not be smiling, and his outfit is technically from after part 4 vol 9, (it was in the colour picture depicting a certain christmas tree passed out on the floor) but I thought it looked cool so eh.

Just kind of a 'how Elvira and Florencia see Ferdinand as 'unfortunately unavailable/ineligible (*cough- associated with the temple, and alas we both have husbands~ *cough) noble bachelor' who is truly a paragon of all that makes up a noble man, calculating, ruthless, handsome, a genius, expert social manipulator, plays and sings exquisitely,' etc. As opposed to how Rozemyne sees him, (I'll probably do a more in detail comic thingy depicting her perspective at some point), which I guess she'd say something like, 'constantly overworking no concern for his health kind of disaster with demon lord tendencies and incredibly high standards'.

They really gave Ferdinand the most messed up childhood then said "self-sacrificial manipulation is his love language" didn't they. He can spin it however he wants about just playing the game of politics well, but honestly without Rozemyne there to remind him that what he wants and needs matters, I'm pretty sure he would just trick everyone into letting him self-destruct, taking out all of his and his loved ones' enemies in the process.

I think one of my biggest pet peeves as a reader is that some people/stories focus more on the romantic aspect of the plot rather than anything else. And this doesn’t just limit to fanfics, too. Like, yeah I can understand the need to give Sephiroth a lover [whether in the form of a time-travelling Cloud or OC-Insert], but??? Genesis and Angeal are right there??? Pls give him a stable support system first before diving into the romance and/or smut territory. Please.

Y'know, I started learning Japanese to see if I could learn the language before all the light novels got translated-

Which is looking like more of a pipe dream as time goes by,

But now I genuinely just want to learn Japanese, light novels aside, cause like... BOOKS. In a different language? And poetry? And Stuff? And Anime?

Besides Japanese just looks pretty. Which yes, I know is a kind of shallow reason but still-

Eh. I just like the language. It's cool. Though it makes you realise just how weird English is. I mean, I do not envy anyone trying to learn English as their second language, it makes like, no sense. I mean, it is useful, since so many people speak it, but I am also very grateful that I don't have to learn it.

Another thing that I like about AoaB is the perspectives (through short side stories)— like it gives us more of the world, the characters; and it brings out varied responses from us readers such as surprise, frustration, understanding, and even some fluff and humor.

I still remember how frustrated I was when I read Heisshitze's POV about Ferdinand's engagement. I also felt a bit apologetic to Wilfried when I read his POV and be like 'Oh, that kinda makes sense' and 'I didn't think of it that way'. It's just a real treat because it makes it easier to empathize with the characters. Sometimes, it also gives us a justification to what we feel (mostly anger/frustration) about certain characters. Sometimes, it can also make us sad because we didn't think the character we have a good impression of, can act in a way that we never really imagined. This is also one of the reasons why I like Hannelore as a character— because I can relate to her as a reader.
