Currently Reading: Okay like six things at once technically but the main ones are: The Hobbit because that's what my students are doing for summer reading and I gotta rework my lesson, The Lost Tales of Sir Galahad because my brother let me borrow his copy, and I'm still stuck in House of Leaves because I refuse to let that book defeat me but I need so many more spoons to get through it.

Last Song:

This album had one song that I wrote to last night and now I'm starting all of it and this just killed me. Ask me why and I'll tell you about my deep Scarlet Hollow sorrows.

Last Series: I caved and watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to talk about it with my mom which was fun but also like watching the television equivalent of like...frosting? Like it was very easy to consume and an enjoyable enough show so it makes sense why it got five seasons but it was definitely...kind of lackluster at times. (Basically on the other end of the spectrum for how well it handles queer identity in its story from A League of their Own the series which I watched before it and LOVED).

Last Movie: Barbie!!! I wept. My friend wept. I laughed at odd moments. I now own a Barbie drink floaty that looks like a mermaid tail and blew it up with my friend while the previews played. Please for your own good go watch Barbie. Greta Gerwig should be given all other little girl intellectual properties she's crushing ME with them.

Currently Working On: In place of the grad school application I've been failing to write for two months I now have two fics in the works.

A still title-less Nimona fic that's a 5 + 1 of post-canon for five times Nimona turns into Ballister and Ambrosius doesn't realize until it's too late and the one time he knows the whole time (it's turned into a large Ambrosius character study of course so we haven't even hit the five and one scenarios).

And God Loves You, but Not Enough to Save You which I have been writing nonstop for two days (including this morning when I got up to take my dog out and it refused to let me go back to sleep).

There is no "last video game" option but if you are looking for something to eat your brain go buy/play Scarlet Hollow! Please!! You need to talk about this with me!! A visual novel with dating amidst the terrors, phenomenal horror writing/illustrations, a crazy good mystery, and characters like Tabitha!! Your cousin who hates you but is so blorbo that I am now writing a whole fic about her. I would (and have) sacrificed a lot for her. I do believe this is resurrecting my fic writing career from i love you you dope burnout.

1.) I have been on television or on camera more than once in my life, usually in the background and I have no idea where it did float around (Spanish Christian channels if it was my guess)

3.) I have stayed in the same town my whole life (I did move houses when I was like two and it was just to a house two blocks away)

4.) I don’t like pickles or anything pickled, I think I just can’t stand vinegar like that

10.) my earliest form of revenge was being 5-6 and during a family vacation to Texas where we stayed at a family friend’s house. The only kids were teens so obviously I couldn’t do everything with them and I think I got annoyed at being excluded from something. So as I saw them dump a whole bucket of legos outside because it had been sitting outside overnight during a rainstorm, I took my chance and stole one singular Lego figure. Just one. I’m sure they’re still looking for that Lego.

fear headcanon: i think he might be afraid of going to sleep after having particularly bad nightmares/prophetic dreams

musical headcanon: he actually can't play any instruments at all but is scary good at arrangement

food/cooking headcanon: he found out in his 30s that he can't drink/eat as badly as he used to in his 20s but he defiantly perseveres anyway. what a dumbass i love him

shopping headcanon: i mean. first episode. but also when he found out that the exact model of tshirt he always buys and has like 50 of was discontinued he actually cried

childhood headcanon: i like to think he spent a lot of time outdoors! looking for lizards and snakes all by himself, never getting home until it turned dark. he strikes me as someone who was quiet but very observant. once he found an alligator by a stream and they just chilled sitting across from each other. he never told anybody.

sleep headcanon: never sleeps with a shirt on, uses at least 2 pillows sometimes 3, likes napping indiscriminately, never wakes up before noon.
