Reminder that the creator of the sunset lesbian flag is an exclusionist and anti-mspec lesbian. They are no longer an ace exclusionist but are still against mspec lesbians thus still an exclusionist and its important to at least be aware of that. There is a four stripe lesbian flag with no harmful aspects associated w the creator of it (based on a Sappho poem) but also I do believe sunset lesbian flag is at least better than the original (lipstick lesbian) one as the sunset one has considerably less harmful aspects attached to the creator than the lipstick lesbian one.

Sexuality and romantic attraction are complicated things, as well as gender. Chances are that most of the people who pick labels, multiple or otherwise, that fall outside of the standard binary structure of the L, G, B, T, are all doing it in good faith and because they find it helps to describe them.

If people finding words and labels that don't harm anyone but that you think aren't necessary, inherently harmful, or should be criticized/questioned if they "really" belong causes you to roll your eyes, get upset, and even go as far as to be violent towards the other person;

Then I don't want you on this blog, and I don't want you interacting with my posts. If you can't just let people exist in their own communities, if you can't just go "I don't understand it, but it's not up to me to decide whether that means they belong or not," and instead feel the need to debate the existence and validity of that identity;

I. Don't. Want. You. Here. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you don't support all queer identities, no matter how contradictory or obscure they may seem, then you instantly have more in common with a bigot and exclusionist than an inclusionist, and I don't want that type of person around here.

It's either full inclusivity, or none at all. You can't cherrypick which identities are valid and which ones aren't and still call yourself inclusive. Sorry if that's a tough pill to swallow, but it's true.

Whenever looking at the sides of a debate, always look at the beliefs of those on each side. If one side has horrific, hateful, and downright demeaning beliefs, while the other is literally "we just want to live our lives and be able to express ourselves", which side would you really rather be on?

But anyway,

TL;DR don't touch my posts, especially my positivity ones, if your beliefs are actively negative towards another identity. It's gross, makes me uncomfortable, and people need to stop thinking they have the authority to debate or have a say on whether real people are valid in their identities or not.

like listen i have nothing but bad experiences w the pan community myself but u can prefer the pan label over the bi label nd not be biphobic. the pan community itself is honestly still super biphobic but hating on individual pans is beyond shitty. like idk how you can support nb microlabels, but hate on sexuality microlabels?? to recognize the gender binary is shit is also to recognize that not everyone vibes with common sexuality labels, and that isn’t necessarily for -phobic reasons

ppl just get so caught up in their own experiences that they dismiss the experiences of others... it’s really sad. i used to be the same way til i grew the fuck up nd stopped assuming shit about other ppl. everyone has different unique experiences nd to dismiss ppl’s experiences just bc they don’t align with ur own is bigoted at best.

and reminder that this is coming from someone who has had nothing but terrible experiences w pans nd is uncomfortable with the label as a whole as a result. pans gave me immense internalized biphobia nd transphobia and in general nothing but internalized self hate. SO, if i can put aside my discomfort to be supportive to ppl who identify differently from me nd have different experiences, then why cant other people? to hate on other lgbtq+ people is the exact opposite of what needs to be happening. it just feels too similar to hating on lesbians bc of t/rfs or smthing.
