I think more people need to get on the asexual Rose Nylund hype train I’m driving
- First of all, she had 56 boyfriends in one year but she didn’t go all the way but she did bring them to fevered pitch of screaming ecstasy.
Now an allo might think that’s proof she’s allo, but it sounds to me like a very curious sex favorable asexual just trying to figure things out if you catch my drift
- then of course you have the fact that it was like five years of having sex morning and night before she ever had an orgasm which she did because “it was nice being close to Charlie.” I mean…
- then there’s that fact that often times her brain does not leap straight to sex when the others make a joke or a reference and she’s often left asking what they mean, which is probably supposed to be a dumb thing but still
And there a thousand more things I swear this woman is unknowingly ace

Rose Nylund from Golden Girls is asexual. And there’s not shit else there is to say about it.
She said that before she was married she never really thought about sex. And when she lost her virginity, she didn’t really understand sexual desire. And she calls Blanche a “hypersexual bitch,” which i cannot wait to fucking call people whenever I’m upset too. 😂

Asexual Awareness Week, Day Three.
Finding relatable stories and characters in media can be tough for Asexuals and Aromantics. When I started making this list, I found maybe four right off the bat. I thought this was going to be surprisingly easy. What I didn’t realize was how many asexual characters were either cold-hearted and evil... or androids...
So after a long afternoon of gathering a list of the more respectable asexual characters and finding quotes from either the writers or the characters themselves, I present:
10 Asexual/Aromantic Characters in Fiction
Jughead Jones - Archie Comics - Jughead’s sexuality had been in question since the comic first started in the 1940s, but he was canonically confirmed as an asexual in a 2016 comic. In response to another character saying “You just don’t get it cause you’re asexual…” Jughead responded with “Yeah, well, it’s why I can think clearly and see this administration for what it is! I’m not hobbled by these hormonal impulses! I mean, look at Archie! Guy’s lost his mind over Betty and Whatshername so bad he can’t even tie his shoes!”
Charlie Weasley - Harry Potter Series -Author J.K. Rowling was quoted in a 2007 documentary as saying “Um, no, I don’t think Charlie’s gay. Just more interested in dragons than women.”, and while that might not have be a lot to go on, many fans accepted asexual Charlie Weasley as canon. Recently, Rowling may have shot herself in the foot on the  subject of LGBT+ representation, but most fans still hold onto Charlie as an asexual character.
Poppy - Huge - Camp counselor Poppy showed no interest in romance, saying “I can’t imagine being like that… So intensely passionate about another person.”. She then came out to a fellow camp counselor, saying “I basically identify as asexual.”
Sherlock Holmes - Most Versions - The original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle version, and most of the subsequent adaptations, showed signs of asexuality and is generally considered asexual. In the 1891 short story “A Scandal in Bohemia” Dr.Watson writes "All emotions, and that one particularly [love], were abhorrent to his cold, precise but admirably balanced mind."
Todd Chavez - BoJack Horseman - Feeling confused about his sexual orientation, Todd told his friend "I’m not gay. I mean, I don’t think I am, but I don’t think I’m straight, either. I don’t know what I am. I think I might be nothing." at the end of season three. Todd’s discovery of asexuality was also a large part of his character arc through season four.
Rose Nylund - The Golden Girls - Rose’s inability to understand sexual innuendos was usually played as a joke, but led many fans to see her as asexual. She also had many quotes that lead fans to the same conclusion... On the fact that she had had 56 boyfriends before she met her husband but still remained a virgin until marriage, she said “You can have a boyfriend without having to go all the way!”
Raphael Santiago - Shadowhunters - Confirmed as asexual by writer Cassandra Clare, this character discussed his lack of interest in both the 2016 show and the original book. He openly expressed his disinterest in intimacy, saying “I’m not like that. I’m just not interested in sex.” and insisted that it was not due to him being a vampire, but that he had always been that way.
Valentina ‘Voodoo’ Dunacci - Sirens - An openly asexual character who discussed her sexuality more than a few times. One of the shows creators said this on the subject: "It was an interesting flip on the convention of will-they-won’t-they. It’s an entirely new spin on that issue, because you have a character who won’t.”
Lord Varys - Game of Thrones - While Lord Varys is a eunuch, he makes it clear that he had never experienced attraction. After confirming that he never liked men, Lord Varys goes on to say “But I was never interested in girls either…” And when asked what he was interested in, he responds with “Nothing… When I see what desire does to people what it's done to this country, I am very glad to have no part in it."
The Professor - Gilligan's Island - He ignored the sexual advances from the women on the island, and confessed to Ginger that he had never experienced romantic interest. When ginger asked “Didn’t you ever meet a girl who’s house had a porch swing?”, The professor responds  “As a matter of fact, I did. Oh, but she was quite impossible. I tried to start intelligent conversations, but all she was interested in was hugging and kissing, kissing and hugging! Well, if that’s the way to win Erika, then I’m afraid I haven’t got a chance. I don’t even know the first thing about it.”

Valid Asexual Characters
I appreciate the spirit of this post, but Rose Nylund was happily married and then in a passionate relationship with Miles?
Hi! Rose definitely has had relationships and sex, however Rose has stated that she doesn’t really get sex or sexual desire in general. That would place her on the asexual spectrum, though possibly closer to the demi- or grey-sexual end.
