Mornings. Valerie had never been a morning person in her life.  But she had to admit there was something extra special about that in between space before truly getting up for the day and sleep with Thomas.
(nsfw links) It was that time where lazing was okay. They weren’t going anywhere in particular. They’d been together despite the doctor’s warnings. She’d have him hold a pillow against her loose tummy so it wouldn’t hurt when she rode him from the jiggling wound as she bounced. Thomas was always so loving finding other ways to pleasure his wife. There was no holding Mrs. Laveau’s libido back when she wanted her back injured or not. Lucky man. They had fed the triplets a couple times, managed to get them to sleep again, and no rush now for a thing as the quiet settled in. The blinds were closed but she could still tell it was morning by the soft glimmer of light coming through the blinds. She knew just behind that was the beginnings of the silver thaw of her winter. She noticed the austere drizzles in the moonlight the night before.
She couldn’t help but think about what all that extra moisture would be doing to the land. Her thoughts drifted to muddy bogs and what fun that would be. They just needed a couple ATV’s again and it’d be a party. They hadn’t left for much, but Valerie still heard the rumors, got texts, saw the local weather.  So many people thought it was those new, rich, folk doing something eccentric like fake snow as a ski resort would considering it seemed to politely stop so close to the property lines.  The meteorologist had no explanation for the sudden but confirmed natural weather front that would show the storm on the satellite coming from the skies.
This brought back a few of those old Laveau witchy rumors from the internet. Valerie didn’t care. She didn’t plan on waltzing around announcing she was any kind of sorceress or goddess to these folks of New Zealand. She also didn’t plan on ever making herself small again to fit in. She spent a year getting acquainted with this life, but she was tired of that. If their Scouty insisted on continuing with this public school nonsense then so be it. But, if they were going to be forced to mingle with people that weren’t always of their own choosing then Valerie was done with the low key life. She thought she could handle it with just her and Thomas alone, but that’s not how all this played out. Real life took over a lovers’ self contained fantasy for the better.

Mornings were starting to grow on her.
A private moment just to admire him before hot drinks, before sun, before voices, before anything, just them.
These moments were usually kept in such silence and serene until something of the outside world demanded true waking as she remembered dreaming. Should she tell him as he suggested or just write it down? She thought she’d whisper it unsure how awake he really was. She’d still write it down. She’d write them all down always so he could keep them. She did worry she might lose it if she didn’t say it now and she didn’t want to get up from this warm wonderful space. So whisper she did.
“I dreamt of you.” She began which wasn’t always the case. So, it was rather fun to start her gift that way. “We we walking in a garden. Everything was too bright, too colorful. The flowers were all wrong. It wasn’t ugly. It was just jarringly orange and yellow. It was blinding. It wasn’t pleasant. I kept hearing Diana’s voice say ‘The girl in the yellow dress.’ it was also in unpleasant manner clear of her distaste. I said back, ‘Oh god she isn’t here is she? I should have brought the dogs.’
“Then suddenly everything was gone. That’s how dreams do sometimes. It just changes on you and it makes no sense. No garden. Just one tree in the dark. It was a big purple wisteria tree. Real flowy. Somehow lit in the middle of the darkness. You were dressed very dapper like when we go to the theater, top hat and all, but you kept looking down at me so strangely. I finally look down and I’m in this amazing yellow dress. You say, ‘I’ve never seen you in yellow before.’ I say, ‘Me either.’ Like I am also shocked not recalling putting it on myself.
“Now in real life that’s not exactly true. I have an Amy Winehouse vintage dress that’s yellow, but it’s nothing like this gown I had on, so bright. Plus, it’s not really a me go-to. You’re gawking like you’re stunned at how gorgeous I am and I’m just watching this dress blowing so flowy in the breeze just as graceful as the wisteria branches, and my long hair, hard to describe like a scene from a southern plantation, when I see Diana again in the distance. Still, the last thing I want to be is ‘the girl in the yellow dress’ considering how she says it. She looks really upset. ‘The girl in the yellow dress.’ Like it’s me. I’m the girl in the yellow dress. Weirdly, Spock brow up, you look at her through a monocle, very sexy by the way, and then cup your mouth like you’re about to holler something back at her. But the dream went black or I woke up a minute and went back to sleep or something because it was gone. I never heard what you what said. Dreams like that are sort of the weirdest because they’re almost like a story...almost. But, you never get to find out the ending.”
“So then I just lay there imagining things like why in the world would I dream that, or what you might have said, what happened next.”
She kept smoothing her hand over his beard scruffles, and around his ear, through his hair, “Now I’m never going to get this vision of dancing and picnicking under a wisteria tree all fancied up out of my head even though that’s not what happened in my dream because it looked perfectly set up to do so. Like a dream.” She giggled softly. “So it was.”
Then she’d turn with those images so vivid in her head even though the story line might not make sense. Dissecting dreams was an art, a skill her mamma taught her. She sometimes thought about the symbolism but sometimes it just ruined the beauty of the imagery in her head. Being so fluent in those “witchery” skillsets it was often hard not to see the simple language of the symbolism and pushing it away was as much of a talent and skill as making the decorative masks she wears to bottle things down. “Papa, Dr. F. He’d have a field day tearing into that one with me curled on his lap.” She had to chuckle. She couldn’t help it.

Warmth of a Star
Chapter 1: An Arctic Scavenger Hunt
The first chapter is finally ready! Chapter 2 should be out soon since I’m out of school.
Disclaimer 1: I own nothing except my OC, Stella.
Disclaimer 2: The story mostly follows the MCU timeline, but with some changes here and there.
Word Count: 2,375
Summary:
Steve woke up scared and alone in the 21st Century. He had to adjust to this new world on his own. He had to deal with the grief of losing his home and almost everyone he knew. He had to deal with the trauma of war, of losing Bucky, of losing everything that was familiar. And yet, Steve couldn't let anyone see how much Captain America was suffering. He had to be strong for his team and for his country, with no one to support him.
But what if Steve had someone to help him? What if he had someone who understood that he was dealing with more trauma and grief and loneliness than anyone could imagine? What if he had someone who saw him as more than just Captain America, who saw him as Steve Rogers?
The passengers of the ATV were quiet as they traversed the arctic landscape. The only chatter came from the radio. The two men up front occasionally contributed to that conversation. The driver, Lieutenant William Hope, was too focused on following the ATV ahead of them to respond. When he absolutely had to speak, Agent Phil Coulson, who was sitting in the passenger seat, would hold out the radio for him. The final passenger in the back seat was Stella, a young intern for the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or S.H.I.E.L.D. as it was more commonly known. Coulson had personally recruited Stella to be an assistant. She showed remarkable skill with technology and quickly learned some basic combat, so Coulson promoted her to Intern Trainee. This was Stella’s first mission.
This was a low-stakes recon mission. All the team needed to do was meet with a search team about an unknown object that was found in the ice. Normally, a few lower rank agents would conduct the examination. But the size and shape of this object caused some alarm from the people who found it, so a couple of the higher-ups came instead. The ride in the ATV was surprisingly smooth, even in a blizzard. It was a slower ride because of limited visibility.
A small, red light stood out in the distance. Lieutenant Hope gradually slowed down the ATV in sync with the first one. Both vehicles stopped in front of a man holding a red lamp on a pole and wearing a bright red parka.
Agent Coulson and Lieutenant Hope jumped out of the ATV with ease. Stella had to clamber over the passenger seat, then climb down the side as the wind whipped her around. Her left foot slipped on a patch of snow caught in the treads of the tires. For a terrifying second, Stella thought she was going to fall. Her right foot was close enough to the ground that she didn’t fall more than a couple of inches. She remained upright the entire time, so if anyone had been watching, they didn’t see her slip. Stella was terrified that if she was caught making a mistake, that she would be demoted back to an assistant and lose her training privileges.
The man in the red parka, who they assumed was the leader of the search team, spoke first. He had to shout to be heard over the howling wind. “You the guys from New York?”
“You get many other visitors out here?” Coulson joked.
The Lieutenant rolled his eyes with a sigh. “How long have you been on site?”
“Since this morning,” the leader answered. Up close, they could just barely make out the name "Adamson" sewn above his breast pocket. He gestured for the trio to follow him. Despite the agents having ice tread boots, they all struggled through the deep snow. “A Russian oil team called it in eighteen hours ago.”
“How come nobody’s spotted it before?” the Lieutenant wondered.
“It’s really not that surprising. This landscape’s changing all the time. You got any ideas what this thing is exactly?” Adamson explained.
“It’s not a weather balloon?” Lieutenant Hope wondered.
Adamson shook his head. “No, it’s much bigger. We don’t have the equipment to extract something of that size. You guys would need a hell of a crane to pull it out!”
The four of them were close enough to the mysterious object that they could see the arctic sun’s dim glow reflecting off of it. There were a handful of people scattered around, one of which was on top of the object with a flashlight. Some of them were placing lamps identical to the leader’s around the object. Another was trying to convince the person on top to come down.
At first, the object looked like a giant disc leaning in the snow. But the lamps extending from the back suggested it was much larger. Adamson guided them around to the back where more metal could be seen under the snow. Various other chunks of metal were strewn behind it.
“It looks like a plane,” Stella observed. Coulson chuckled when the other two men jumped in surprise.
“Who the hell are you?” Adamson asked.
“This is Stella Smith: Intern, Agent Trainee, and my personal assistant,” Agent Coulson beamed.
“Isn’t she a little young to be going on missions?”
“Don’t let the baby face fool you, sir,” Stella replied. Adamson looked Stella up and down, then exchanged glances with both Lieutenant and Agent. Lieutenant Hope nodded and sighed again, but Agent Coulson was smiling widely.
Adamson ignored Stella’s comment and continued. “This thing’s resting on some very thin sea ice. It’s a miracle it hasn’t slipped under the surface yet. We think it has a few more days before it sinks, so we’re hoping to get a grip on it before then. After that, you guys can haul it away."
“Isn’t it too big for a crane, though?” Agent Coulson reminded him.
Stella chimed in again. “Your best shot might be to hook the main body of the plane up to an air carrier so it can stay near the surface. The ice breakers could help steer it out. The rest of the pieces should be hooked up to ice breakers as well for the same reason."
Adamson glared at her. “I think I know how to do my damn job, kid. Look, why don’t you just go build a snowman or something, and let the men figure this out.”
Stella rolled her eyes, but continued to follow her mentor and the rest of the group. She was worried if she split off from them, that she would be left behind in the arctic. But if she was, then maybe she’d find the legendary Captain America? It was better than waiting around to be eaten by a polar bear. Stella was pulled from her thoughts when one of the team members approached Adamson with a glowing tablet.
“Mr. Adamson, the ice underneath is too thin for us to dig through. If we get halfway down, we’ll break apart the damn arctic. Our scans show it’s some sort of plane, but it’s upside down. We might have to lift it out airily, sir,” the team mate explained. The name on his parka was "Lee."
“We don’t have a strong enough plane for that. Look, let’s just send a couple of guys in to scope it out, see if there’s anything worthwhile,” Pearce ordered.
“It’s too unstable, sir. The weight of three, two hundred pound guys won’t help that,” Lee said.
“Would it support the weight of one, one twenty-five pound trainee?” Stella offered. All four of the men looked at her in shock and, in the case of Adamson and Hope, exasperation.
“That could work. We could hook you up to a pulley. If something goes wrong, we can quickly get you out. It should hold your weight easily, but there’s no guarantee,” Lee suggested. “Are you sure you want to go in there?”
“Absolutely,” Stella agreed, her eyes focused and her voice steady.
Adamson finally snapped out of his daze. “Surely you can’t be serious! You’re not qualified to do something this important.”
“I am serious. And don’t call me ‘Shirley,’” she replied.
Lee started laughing. “Nice to meet you, Stella. I’m Jake. Let’s go get you set up.”
****
By the time Stella was completely equipped with the gear, the team had laser-drilled a hole in the middle of the plane. It was the most submerged, so the ice would keep it steadier than the front half which was angled to slide back under the ocean at any moment.
Stella's equipment included a helmet, a face shield with a gas mask and air tank, thicker gloves, a flashlight, and a belt with thigh loops which would be attached to a pulley. Jake hooked her belt up to two cables on the pulley. She only needed the one, but Jake clipped her to the second one, just in case.
"You doing okay? No shame if you wanna back out," he offered.
"I can do this. It'll just take a few minutes," Stella assured. Now that she was staring down at the deep drop into an icy chamber, she was starting to become anxious.
"Alright. We're going to slowly lower the cables, alright? We'll keep doing that while you're down there so you can explore. You can radio us for whatever you need. Now, if the radio doesn't work, what do you do?" Jake checked.
"Two tugs for more slack, three tugs for extraction," Stella recited.
"You have clearance. Ready?" Jake asked.
"Ready," Stella agreed. Jake signaled to the pulley operator to start.
Stella held tightly to the cables as she was jerked off of her feet. The pulley held her directly above the hole. Stella watched it come closer until she was safely lowered through it. She glanced around the interior of the plane, then landed somewhat gracefully on the icy ground.
"*Stella? This is Agent Coulson. Do you read me? Over.*" her mentor called through the radio.
"I read you loud and clear, sir. Over."
The inside of the plane was covered in a thick coat of ice, several inches thick along some walls and near the tops of poles. The ground must be covered in at least a foot and a half of ice, if not more. Stella couldn't see the floor through it! It reassured her that she may not cause the plane to sink again.
Stella walked towards the cockpit, where she assumed anything valuable would be. The windows were smashed with ice creeping into the plane. It was over the control panel and most of the chair. Stella could just barely make out some of the labels, but they were all in German.
The trainee was going to head the other way when something bounced the beam of her flashlight. She scanned the area again and found a small metal disk. It was round and, judging by how well it stayed afloat, hollow. Stella picked it up. It left a shallow impression in the ice, but only if one looked closely enough. She had to take off her left glove so she could open what she assumed was a locket. Her hand still had a thinner glove underneath, but it wasn't enough to stop the cold from ambushing her.
Stella managed to open the locket, only to discover it was an old compass. In the lid of the compass was a photograph from a newspaper with three people smiling at the camera. She recognized that photograph from her history textbooks. It was a photo from World War II. The person in the middle was none other than Captain Steve Rogers. Which made the man on his right Sergeant Bucky Barnes and the woman on the left Agent Peggy Carter.
Stella suddenly realized that if this was Captain Rogers' compass… that this must be the plane he crashed. And if this is the plane, the Captain must be here somewhere! Stella turned back around to start looking when she saw something red in the ice. She hoped it wasn't blood as she wiped away the hoarfrost to get a better look.
She jumped back from the shock of what she saw and ended up sliding a few feet across the ice on her back like an upside down turtle. Once Stella regained her balance, she approached the figure again. There, just under the ice, was Captain America's shield.
"Agent Coulson, do you read me? Over," She asked.
"*I read you, Stella. Is everything okay? Over.*"
"This is Captain America's plane. Over," Stella breathed, wiping away more of the frost.
The line was silent for a minute. Then, "*Stella, are you absolutely sure? Over.*"
"I am staring at the Star-Spangled Man with a Plan himself. He's encased in some thick ice near the cockpit. Looks to be about 2 feet, tops. Over," Stella clarified.
"*Alright, Agent. We're going to start lifting you out in a moment. We won't start until you're under the hole, though. Over,*" Coulson explained.
"Roger that. Over." Stella turned back to the Captain for a moment. "I'm not stealing this, I promise. I'm just gonna hold on to it until we bury you to make sure the museums don't get it like they did with everything else. I swear I will give this back to you. And until then, I will guard it with my life."
Stella slipped the compass into one of her interior coat pockets as she walked back to the hole.
****
The next hour passed in a blur for Stella. Once she was safely on the ground, Jake and another team member scrambled to get her unhooked and remove her equipment. At the same time, Lieutenant Hope and Adamson were preparing to see the inside for themselves.
After she was free, Agent Coulson escorted her back into the ATV. He kept an arm around her the entire walk, which Stella was grateful for. Without the 50 plus pounds of gear weighing her down, she was worried the winds would blow her away.
Inside the ATV, her parka and snow pants were removed, then Stella was wrapped up in a foil blanket along with several wool blankets. Her mentor helped her hold a thermos of coffee in her trembling hands. She wasn't that cold. When she said something to Coulson, he told her the shaking was likely from shock.
Now, Stella was laying in the back of the ATV. It was chilly, but she was warm enough to sleep if she wanted. But she couldn't. She couldn't stop thinking about Captain Rogers. She hadn't seen much of his face, but she did see he was actually blue: like an extra in Titanic, but scarier. Stella couldn't imagine what it must've been like to crash that plane. She just hoped Steve had passed away on impact so he wouldn’t have had to endure drowning or freezing.
Stella retrieved the compass from her pocket to look at the picture again. That was when the reality of the situation sunk in for her. She didn't find Captain America like she hoped; she found his body.

I love vintage mountain bikes from the '90s when designs got crazy and everybody had enough money to fund whatever popped into their heads. None of them are as good as a cheap bike made recently, but they're from before the corporate holding companies owned everything and are great because of the freedom that allowed. Profit means nothing in the face of doing weird shit for the giggles.
Tumblr media
In 1991, Dan invented this 6061 aluminum “Extreme Terrain” bike, featuring up to 10″ wide tires. At the time, many enthusiasts pushed the boundaries by riding in conditions that would be impractical on conventional mountain bikes. The E.T. was originally designed to be ridden in snow, sand, or any surface one could find on two wheels. A company named Skat-Trak provided the ATV-modified tires, shaving upward of eight pounds of rubber off the tires to reduce weight.
Tumblr media
I had a Manitou FS for about a year before I sold the frame to a friend. Why not put front forks on the back? The suspension has no damping so you just bounce and wobble everywhere (it's also made of rubber pucks that don't compress at all when they're cold). I don't regret getting rid of it because it's not a pleasant ride, but it it's such a cool, goofy thing. The CNC machining is beautiful. I still have a Manitou HT from 1994 with Manitou EFC (oil damped instead of undamped) fork. The frame's made of such thin-wall aluminum I rarely ride it because it's one of the few left in the world without a cracked front-triangle.
Tumblr media
The Trek Y-33 has the bottom bracket as a part of the rear triangle which was supposed to make it less bouncy than traditional full-suspension. It was not. Probably the coolest looking bike. I love the way those Spin wheels look but '90s carbon is a little dicey.

Wild Boar ATV Parts - Riding With The Fam
Riding ATVs can be an exhilarating bonding experience for the whole family. Exploring scenic trails and embracing the great outdoors together create lifelong memories. With some preparation and planning, you can make ATV adventures a cherished family tradition.
One of the best parts of family ATVing is watching your kids develop new skills and independence in the fresh air and sunshine. Start them young with child-sized "quads" and adult supervision. As they grow, consider larger youth models with safety features like speed limiters. Stress the importance of protective gear, even for short rides around your property. Lead by example - always wear your own helmet and riding gear.
Plan beginner-friendly trail rides to build confidence. Look for wide, flat trails without steep inclines or mud holes. Go slow and take frequent breaks. Consider a "follow the leader" formation, with adults fore and aft. Stop to point out scenic views and interesting nature sights. Pack a picnic or trailside snacks to make it a full day of family fun.
Involve the kids in pre-ride preparations like reading trail maps and checking tire pressure. Teach them basic maintenance like cleaning air filters and lubricating cables. Have them help pick out fun decals to customize their ATVs. The more invested they are, the more eager they'll be to participate. John Kittrell
As skills progress, you can tackle more advanced trails together. But always put safety first - avoid risky riding and insist on protective equipment, even for teens. Refresher courses and practice riding help instill good habits. Consider two-way radios to communicate if you get separated on the trails. And never indulge in riding while impaired - set a good example.
ATVing is a year-round activity. Bundle up for brisk fall and winter rides through snow-covered forests. Come home to hot chocolate by the fire. In spring and summer, carry sunscreen and plenty of water to stay safe. Let the kids invite friends along to create a whole crew of young ATV enthusiasts.
When the leaves start changing color, take the ATVs out to enjoy the fall foliage. Ride through rustic backroads and wooded trails to see vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow. Stop to snap photos of your kids playing in piles of leaves. End the day with some hearty chili back home.
Once snow blankets the landscape, switch to snow-compatible ATV tires and tread carefully on snow-packed trails. See who can make the first "snow angel" when you stop. Grab a sled or tube to tow behind an ATV for some downhill fun. End your winter adventures with mugs of hot apple cider.
As temperatures warm, explore trails lined with spring wildflowers. Pack a lunch and have a picnic surrounded by nature's beauty. Bring kites and a Frisbee to take advantage of windy meadows. Head home tired and happy after a full day of family fun. Wild Boar ATV Parts
When summer arrives, hit the trails early before the midday heat. Take frequent water breaks to stay hydrated. Cool off at a swimming hole or stream along your route. Bring bikes for the kids so they can ride ahead or fall behind at their own pace. End your summer ride with juicy watermelon slices.
The changing seasons provide endless opportunities for year-round family adventures on ATVs. Enjoy nature's transformation on scenic trails. Make memories that will be treasured for years to come.
With the right approach, ATV outings can build family bonds for a lifetime. Children gain confidence, learn responsibility and develop a passion for an active hobby. Time together away from electronics strengthens communication and relationships. And exploring the outdoors fosters an appreciation for nature.
Molino, Florida's Wild Boar ATV provides the gear, parts and accessories to make ATVing a family affair. Their extensive inventory includes youth-sized models, safety equipment, winches, lighting packages and more from trusted brands like Warn, Gorilla and ITP. Owned by avid riders, Wild Boar understands the ATV lifestyle.
They aim to deliver excellent customer service and the lowest prices nationwide.
"When Wild Boar didn’t have the tires we ordered in stock, Courtney went above and beyond to ensure we were still able to get some comparable tires for our SxS quickly. There were multiple texts and phone calls made on her end to make sure we got what we needed and that we were happy with what we ordered. Her customer service was top-notch and we appreciated it so much!" says satisfied customer Kim Pickens.
Michael Roberto, another happy customer, raves "Wild Boar is really holding it down on the Tire/Wheel kits, best 20” mud tires with best 20” chrome rims, very fast delivery and excellent customer service and support every day!”
Grateful customer Jill S shares, "I knew I couldn't buy the radiator relocation kit with light bar online with two separate forms of payment so I called and spoke with Blaze. SHE WAS AMAZING!! She placed the order for him using two pre-paid gift cards with kindness and in less than an HOUR, UPS sent me shipping information! Amazing company, amazing employees and one happy country boy and his big boy toy!”
So gather the family and head for the open trails. Start slowly, prioritize safety, and make each ride a new adventure. Stop often to take in beautiful vistas and let the kids look for wildlife. Pack a camera to capture special moments. With some thoughtful preparation, ATVs can provide hours of wholesome outdoor family fun. The experiences and memories will last long after the ride is over.

ECO FRIENDLY WINTER ADVENTURE IN LAPLAND
Fat bikes, including electric fat bikes, are specially designed for winter conditions, with wide tires that provide stability and grip on snow and ice. Unlike snowmobiles or ATVs, which run on gas and emit harmful pollutants, fat bikes are powered by human effort and electric power, making them a much more sustainable option for exploring the winter wilderness.

Gorilla silverback tires 30x9x14 review
Tumblr media
Out law ain't shit they ain't aggressive as the silver backs not even close Had a set of 31s on a custom 7 inch lifted king 300, completly stock motor and i ripped the tread off, and now have 29 laws and they are a million times better than the silverbacks I have a eiger 400 with custom 7" gorilla lift, 700 king quad motor bored and stroked, hmf exhaust and snorkel, and ive had outlaws, 589's, edl's swamplites, nothin touches the silverbacks, were im from muddin is all we have and i go everyday riding and not only enjoy the sound of my 700 and the ground clearance, if it wasnt for the silverbacks when they came out i wouldnt even built my custom quad i love them good in snow, swamps, ponds, mud pit, pulls, and gettin 1st in show evertime i go i love the outdoors and think god everyday for making the wilderness how it is love the tires keep up the good work When he tried to back out the laws barely got him out after pulling back and forth, I went in and backed right out and then went on through as he went around!!!! Unbelieveable traction, I was so impressed my daughter finally told me to quit bragging on them cause I was embarrassing her!! LOL Went to red creek offroad this past weekend, through the same mud hole the gorillas climbed right through, the outlaws couldn't pull him out, he tried 2 times, I went back around after he gave up and went through it again. Ok my buddy has the outlaw 28's and I had the 28 silver backs on 2 identical 09 700 polaris rangers. Little rough ride but acceptable considering you won't get stuck So they are suppose to be a bad tire huh.I ripped the tread off of them, yet i didnt break anything on my honda. Trac grabber

TRAC GRABBER INSTALL
With an average of 689 deaths attributed to hypothermia each year in the United States alone, Trac-Grabbers, like a spare tire, should become standard automotive safety equipment for every vehicle. With the abundance of severe winter weather in 20, the need to develop an application for all types of vehicles becoming stuck and disabled in the ice and snow became a primary focus. They were developed for the outdoorsmen and adventuresome off-roaders, to give them peace of mind and confidence to explore and venture into difficult terrain without the fear of getting stuck. Trac-Grabbers were originally designed for trucks and SUV’s. With the pending patent, Trac-Grabbers are the only product of its kind which is strapped to the wheels of a vehicle to enable it to get unstuck under its own power. Once the vehicle is back on stable terrain, the Trac-Grabbers are then removed from the wheels and stowed away for future use. Trac-Grabbers are attached to the wheels and continue to provide traction as long as it may take to reach stable terrain. The problem is that it is very difficult to get them under the wheel when the wheel is stuck and often times the wheel spins and throws them out the other side.
TRAC GRABBER INSTALL
Before Trac-Grabbers, the only product offered other than a winch (which is expensive and impractical to install on most vehicles) and a tow rope (which requires the assistance of another vehicle) was a type of traction matt which is placed in front of a wheel for better traction. There are very few products on the market which address and offer viable solutions to the problems and dangers of being stuck and disabled. Models for larger commercial vehicles are currently in development. One size for passenger cars and ATV’s and another for trucks and SUV’s. 2021 -Grabbers are currently offered in two sizes. 8 Tips - Buying a Used UTV - Things to Consider - Accessories to Look For
Tumblr media
Whether a first-timer or an experienced off-road enthusiast, you would like to save some bucks when buying a used UTV.  No matter your reason for opting out of a new purchase, there are pros to contacting an independent seller.  But just like any large purchase, it's essential to know what to look for and what questions to ask before buying a used UTV.  Here are a few things that I've learned from my experience and some tips that I've picked up along the way: Check Your Budget When it comes to buying a used UTV, budgeting is essential.  First, determine how much you can afford to spend monthly.  It will help you choose the loan amount you can get.  Once you have that number, think about what will happen with your current vehicle if the new one is too expensive.  Also, consider how much money it would take for an insurance company to replace your existing vehicle. Finally, look at accessories and consider whether or not they're necessary for using the vehicle as intended.  For example, some buy winches so they don't need straps when pulling trailers home from far away locations.  Others believe in extra seats so their families can join them on adventures without worrying about finding space for everyone.  There is a wide variety of UTV products to choose from that are available in the market.  Pick what suits you that might come in handy if you want some addons on your UTV. Decide on Size and Style When choosing the right used UTV for you, it's essential to consider how you will use it.  You can find a few different types of UTVs and should choose one that fits your needs. UTVs come in three main categories: - Sport: These small vehicles are designed for racing and competition.  They're usually lightweight, with high-performance engines and suspension systems.  They often have limited cargo space and seating capacity, but that's not always the case.  Some sports vehicles can carry up to six people comfortably for long distances without straining their engines. - Utility: These models are suitable for work because they have more cargo space than sports utility vehicles.  They also have larger engines than sports models and can tow heavier loads over longer distances without breaking down quickly.  If you need something that works well as a recreation and a utility vehicle, look for a used utility model instead of purchasing two separate cars. - Recreational: Such UTVs are designed with families in mind.  They offer plenty of seating capacity while still being able to withstand bumps along trails. Riding Terrain and Capabilities Whether you are buying a used UTV for work or pleasure, knowing what you want the vehicle for is essential.  So the first step to buying a used UTV is figuring out how will use it.  For example, do you want an ATV?  A side-by-side (SxS)?  Or another style? Once you decide what vehicle to buy and where to operate, it's time to determine where and how often you will drive your vehicle.  For example, if you plan on driving in deep mud or snow with steep inclines, having a four-wheel drive may be beneficial for more traction.  Additionally, if it is primarily used around town or at campgrounds, having all-terrain tires could save money over high-performance tires. Check Miles on the Unit When looking at a used UTV, inspecting the vehicle is crucial.  You may find that the miles on the UTV are higher than you are comfortable with, thus: - Check for any damage to the unit.  Look around areas to see whether there was an accident when off-roading. - Check that all parts, including seats and windshields, are intact.  If anything is damaged, it could mean having issues down the road with this unit.  Also, it might cost you more money in repairs than what you originally paid for it! - Make sure tires are not worn out!  If they look worn out from being used many times on trails, then chances are they won't last long if purchased.  So be beware when buying older models. Street Use Registry If you're serious about buying a used UTV, you must ensure it has been registered for street use in your state.  A quick check of the VIN will reveal if it was ever towed or driven on a highway.  If there are no signs of registration, then this UTV was probably never registered for street use and is not road legal. The title should have "roadworthy" printed, along with information about how many miles were put on during its life cycle. Registration papers should also be present when purchasing any UTVs.  These documents show proof-positive ownership rights within specific jurisdictions around North America, where laws vary regionally. Warranty for the UTV A warranty is a good idea and often a good investment.  Check if the warranty is transferable, as this could save you money in the long run.  A warranty does not guarantee that your UTV will never break down on you, but it does give you peace of mind.  It may allow you to bring back a malfunctioning vehicle without worrying about losing money. Some companies offer "limited" or "powertrain" warranties that cover only specific components of your vehicle.  In contrast, others provide more comprehensive coverage for all parts and components, including electronics.  It means that when shopping for used UTVs with extended warranties, ensure they're worth something! Look at the Accessories One of the first things you should do is look at accessories that come with the UTV.  Some UTVs come with more accessories than others, so it's essential to ensure you get a good deal.  Plus, if any missing parts or items need replacing, this is also something to consider before buying a used UTV. - Check if all the accessories are still in good condition. - Please ensure they are compatible with your riding terrain and weather conditions. - Make sure they fit on your machine. Extra Equipment Check for any equipment needed to get the UTV running again.  It includes spark plugs, batteries, oil, and coolant.  Also, ensure you have a spare tire, a tool kit, and a spare key in case one of them is lost. Also, check for missing parts on the UTV, such as seats or handles.  The last thing you want to happen when buying is for it not to start up because someone forgot an important part!  If possible, inspect the underside of the vehicle.  Rust can be an issue with these vehicles, so make sure there isn't too much rust damage on the bottom of your new purchase. These Tips Can Make Buying Decision Hassle-Free While you might be tempted to buy a UTV on Craigslist, we strongly recommend that you take the time to research before making a purchase.  It would help if you were sure that the vehicle you're looking at is reliable and sturdy enough for what you want to do with it.  So take the time to look into the vehicle's history and any problems it might have had.  We hope these tips will help guide your search and give you some idea of what accessories might improve your riding experience. Choosing the Right Kind of Tent for Backpacking
Tumblr media
Backpacking involves hiking and camping in remote areas and a backpacker should have the right gear. This includes the right kind of clothing, footwear, cooking accessories, and any medicine. One of the most important items in a backpacker's gear is their tent. There are various kinds of tents for backpacking available these days. Tents for backpacking should be chosen with care.
The Different Components of a Fantastic Tent
A tent for backpacking usually consists of the tent body which is the material the tent is made of. The rain fly is a net material that fits over the tent body to protect it. The tent also needs poles to fix it to the ground. A tent bag is the hold all in which you can fit the various components into snugly. Tie down cords are helpful when you need to fix the eco tent more firmly into the ground.
Factors to Consider when Choosing a Tent
Lightness
The backpacking tent has to be made of lightweight material that can be carried easily. Backpackers usually trek for miles during the day and the lighter the tent, the easier it is to carry. Heavy duty tents are only recommended when there are pack animals, ATVs, or extra people to carry the additional weight.
Durability
The tent material should be lightweight, but it should be tough enough to withstand any kind of weather conditions. It should offer protection from the rain, snow, wind, and insects. Tent materials are available in light nylon that is tough but hardy and can stand up to the most adverse weather conditions.
Easy to Use
The tent should be easy to construct. A backpacker will be tired by the end of the day. When it is time to make camp, the backpacker shouldn't have to struggle with poles and nylon. They should be able to erect the tent easily and with little hassle.
Size
The size of the tent for backpacking should be small and snug enough, so as not to take up much space in the backpack. The backpack will also have to hold the other items that the backpacker needs for the hike. If it is large enough for three to four people, one of the backpackers can carry the tent with a few personal items. The other gear that is needed on a camping trip can be distributed among the backpacks of the other campers.
Types of Tents Available
There are single person tents which are just little more than glorified sleeping bags. But they offer protection from the elements and they are easy to carry. There are two to four person camping tents which are tremendous for family camping trips. Seven or more person camping tents are much more spacious though heavier to carry. The type of backpacking tent you choose depends on the type of backpacking or camping trip that you prefer, covet, or are planning on going on.

IT’S IN ENGLISH! And has location data! And the location’s on private property! Where I have permission to go!
AKA it’s in my back yard but about six miles round-trip hiking unless the road is dry, then maybe just a four mile ATV ride and a two mile hike. Fossil fern roots look pretty nifty too, definitely something I’ve never seen before. I have been near that area but never to it, as there’s a lot of effort and/or sketchy terrain involved. Nice to know where I’m going and what I’m looking for before setting out on a all-day scavenger hunt.
Never underestimate the power of primary lit. If I could change one thing about reality, it would be to make all primary lit more than ten years old available for free to anyone. This paper was purchased from a rare collections bookstore in Seattle, after I drew a complete blank looking for a digital copy. Not surprising, given that it was published in Germany almost 70 years ago. Now how a Michigan academic studying in Oregon published in Germany is anyone’s guess...
