It starts with us making love atop

our hurricane supplies.

We’ve been here before—

saying goodbye with our mouths & tongues

& other wet, rotten parts. As if to

preemptively deluge our belongings—

our bodies—into ruination. Devastation

on our own terms this time, we say,

like the world isn’t on its knees. Like

the only record left to break isn’t annihilation.
