Were people weird abt the gfs and later wives of the members of mcr? How did ppl feel about them? Bc i know w some bands/famous ppl, fans will hate the women they’re with for no reason.

Did ppl actually believe in “frerard”? Like I’m aware that there are hardcore speculation/theorizing posts out there and they were especially common when I was newer in the fandom, but how were things in the early days?

Ok, so NO. They weren't!! It was kind of weird? A lot of us LOVED Jamia because she kept so private and Frank gushed about her constantly. She just seemed super chill and beautiful.

No one knew anything about Kat, so ppl liked her. But then Eliza came around and was. Eliza. People fucking hated her because her and her ~crew~ brought so much drama and would throw around racist fucking words for ~lolz~. People were meh about Lindsey - mostly ppl liked her cuz she wasn't Eliza and her and Gerard seemed genuinely fucking happy. This is also before anyone knew anything about Lindsey, btw.

YES! They did!! A lot of people actually thought they had a genuine ~thing going on since around 2004. They were always really handsy and all over each other plus they were so vocally supportive of LGTBQ+ (this was a different time as well, btw. still a time where if you supported LGBTQ+ you were bullied for BEING LGBTQ regardless if you were, didn't know, or weren't). No one knew WHAT was going on, just that something was. Also before Eliza, a lot of people thought Gerard was gay. Who knows how he identifies himself, but because literally no one had ever seen Kat and given his stage persona, people just kinda.. drew conclusions. Also, when the eliza stuff first started people thought she might have been a beard? It was weird.

People were super supportive!! I actually have all of the first prints! No one saw it as a cash grab because we all knew where Gerard came from, and we wanted to support him any way we could. Same with Frank and Skeleton Crew/Leathermouth. TUA didn't actually pick up a lot of attention until later :)

InSANE. Like. Actually insane. We couldn't believe it!!!!! Like holy fuck where did the hot vampire priest freak GO. I remember it actually turned a lot of people off? Not sexually, but in regards to being like WHO ARE THEY STANDING UP FOR NOW kinda thing. Black Hair and Eyeliner was like. THE emo/alt look and now the like. Idol of that movement now has short ass WHITE hair? Plus change is hard for a lot of people.

a lot of people think the scorpion was franks first tattoo, it wasn’t the jack o lantern was his first tattoo bc his birthday is on halloween. Im pretty sure he got the “keep the faith” done later

the “hope flame” and “x jamia x” have both been covered up by his new chest piece (idk why tho) but they were both for jamia, im pretty sure he got the “x jamia x” like a Month after he met her, and he got the hope flame right over his heart bc “his heart burns for her” or sumn

his weird little wrap around tramp stamp, i don’t think theres any special meaning behind the “search and destroy” but the swallows are what i wanna talk abt, people theorize that the swallows are supposed to be him and gerard, hes the one w the horns and gee is the one w the halo idk tho there’s no concrete evidence but based on the way he idolizes gerard i wouldnt put it past him.

the “rising sun” tattoo got a LOT of controversy bc it looked like the japanese imperial flag which is Not what it was, it was an homage to gerards art and his obsession w sun imagery, you can even see the guns like the mcr logo but recently he’s let that tattoo fade and covered it up

imo they were probably fwbs bc gerard is generally very private about doing things w/ppl he's actually got the romance feelings for & not just physical attraction- like compare # of references hes made to sexual activity w/bert compared to lynz- & there was a point at his relationship w/bert where he stopped doing that but bert continued & they were obvs still close & imo thats when g caught feelings- definitely he & frank have done stuff but not in a romance love way

personally i have a hard time believing they were 100% fwb and feelings never got in the way, like frank has talked so much about Knowing he was gonna marry jamia from the second he saw her so if feelings never got involved w gee why would his rship with him be so messy sometimes? (like the pro rev fight). my view of his rship with bert was that it got too unhealthy at some point and gerard knew he had to stop for his/their own good

I'm the original anon about jamia. Work was hell sorry but I'm back to elaborate. I can't provide sources, bc it's hard through ask. Anyways, frank wrote one time how he was telling lily to pick up her toys, she wasn't listening, and jamia ignored frank and assisted lily in whatever she was doing instead. He also wrote how he was telling jamia to clean the bottom of a oven after cheese dropped on it or whatever and all she did was laugh and brush him off like she didn't care (1 of 2)

This fic follows Frank as he leaves Pencey Prep and joins My Chem in 2001. The author changed a lot of details though, so I recommend thinking of it as an AU in how the band formed. Unless you want to yell at your screen at 1am for it getting the timeline wrong (like I did).

From Gabe’s POV, and it’s done flawlessly. It somehow emulates the same feeling one gets from stumbling across an overlooked short film at three a.m. on youtube. The one you can’t help but wonder about, how it is that you’ve never heard about it before. Like it is in its own bubble of existence. Feeling afraid to even breathe or look away, afraid that it’ll disappear at any time, that it was too good to be true. Something you shouldn’t be able to hold in your hands. This fic feels incredibly personal to read. Gabe’s longings of intimacy, the hopelessness at parts. I could feel my fondness for the characters grow enormously in this fic. The first time they went over to Mikey's house, Mikey tossed her a beer and said, "My brother might come up. Maybe not, though. He gets weird in the middle of projects." She found out what he meant halfway through Dawn of the Dead, when a bundle of black fabric barreled from the basement door to the refrigerator and back down to the basement without saying a word to either of them.

Anti-Sex (It Comes Around remix) - The first time Frank ever really talked to Mikey's brother it was at a house party somewhere in the shitty part of the Oranges. Before that, Gerard was just Mikey's weird older brother. In Frank's mind, their interactions were always relative to Mikey, spinning out from him, Mikey first, Gerard a trailing but connected afterthought. At that party, though, Mikey's brother was a little buzzed and cheerful with it, talking with a charisma and charm Frank hadn't seen before. 

Here’s a v 2018 relevant part: “Hey, you bring me my voter's registration, I swear I'll turn it in." "You're not even registered to vote?" Gerard said, and brought a hand up to run his pinky across his eyebrow like it was all just too much, and Frank laughed. 

Crooked Crown - There's always a voice in the back of Frank's head, tiny and barely registering after years of shrugging it off, but still present nonetheless. It says things like, this is a bad idea, and it's satisfying now, but there'll be consequences later. Or, this is the line and you're about to cross it. Someone had once said that Frank had no conscience, which wasn't true because hi, voice in his head. He totally did have a conscience - it was just that he wasn't much of a slave to it.

In any case, the voice dampens out even quicker than usual this time and he's then free to scribble 'BALLS' in Sharpie over each page of Gerard's brand new issue of Hellboy before stuffing it back underneath the seat to be discovered later on. 4k

So, while her over-caffeinated, white-faced sobriety of today was a welcome change, Frank still felt like they were all on the edge of disaster, that everything they'd worked so hard for could still collapse around them. 10k

Frank is jammed in between Gerard and the wall. He made Gerard check the entire basement for spiders before they turned off the crazy-bright fluorescent strip light, but he’s still wrapped himself up in the blankets like a burrito, jamming the edges under his body until he’s fucking airtight. “If you stretch you’ll pull the blankets out,” he says, muffled because his face is pressed under Gerard’s chin. “And then the spiders will get in, and then I’ll have to kill you.”

Can’t remember who wrote this description (it’s on my to-do list) (was it disenchanted?) but THEY PUT IT INTO WORDS: “I don't know how to begin to describe this one... It's written in an unusual format - ie. a lot of it is told through newspaper articles and webpages but it's one of those super haunting fics that stays with you for days. I don't think there are any triggers listed so be warned there are character deaths and supernatural stuff.”

And I really don’t have more to add. I don’t even want to say anything more because honestly for this fic, the less you know the better. For me the experience of reading it was made a hundred times better just by the emotional rollercoasters I was put through. Lol. Trying to figure out what was going on/going to happen next was really fun.

ok so i know you already know who gerard is but let me introduce you to him a bit better

this is gerard, as you already know. married to lynz way of mindless self indulgence, father of bandit way, and brother to mikey way. he was the artsy mastermind of the group. he sang, of course, and was really the one to put the emo aesthetic into mcr. he did comic books before he did music, has a huge man-crush on morrissey, and used to be the king of emo twitter until he suddenly stopped tweeting last summer. i highly recommend searching up his old tweets. he’s had too many hair styles to count, is a Huge Fuckin Nerd, and loves pancakes and cats. after mcr, he released one album by himself (hesitant alien) and toured with it. after that, he has stated he’s been working on more music, but it seems that lately comics have been his #1 focus. he’s some DC series with some other writers and artists, like doom patrol, shade the changing girl, and cave carson has a cybernetic eye. he had an alcoholism problem toward the beginning of the band, and stopped cold turkey at the end of summer of 2004. he deals with chronic depression.

mikey way. brother to gerard way, husband of kristin colby way, huge hockey fan. he played the bass for mcr and was definitely the quietest member even though he was definitely more outgoing than gerard. people like to disregard him most of the time because they think he’s not that important to the band, but he was definitely the emotional rope that held the band together. he learned bass by being in mcr. he has major stage fright. he dealt with drug addiction for a long time, and finally went to rehab after mcr broke up and successfully came out sober. his issues tend to be buried in bandom bc people talk about gerard’s alcoholism more frequently. he released an ep and a full length record with electric century after mcr, and has kind of become friends with the band waterparks. idk much about that though. also, fun fact, he came up with mcr’s name when reading irvine welsh.

ray toro is mostly known as being the musical mastermind in mcr. husband of cristina toro, and he has a son but i don’t think he’s ever told us his name. he is incredibly talented at playing guitar, with lots of technical skills. despite this, ray toro’s solo album after mcr broke up didn’t involve lots of guitar solos or riffs - it’s very laid back and soft and emotional (the album is called remember the laughter). he loves iron maiden with a passion. he went to high school with gerard and was known before mcr to be one of the best guitarists in new jersey. people like to ignore ray, too (and it’s likely assumed it’s because people don’t find him as attractive as gerard and frank, which i think is utter bullshit imo), even though he was just as vital to the band as all of the other members. i love him v much and i really don’t think he gets the credit he deserves.

finally, frank iero. husband of jamia iero, father of lily, cherry and miles iero. he’s been in too many fucking bands bands to count (i am a graveyard, pencey prep, mcr, blood nuns, death spells, leathermouth, frnkiero andthe cellabration, frank iero and the patience. so 8 i guess)[edit: apparently i missed a few:Hybrid, Sector 12, the Pole Smokin’ Five, Give Up the Ghost, Reggie and the Full Effect, and Love Cats (a cover band of The Cure). so that makes it 14]. he played guitar for mcr. he had a much more punk playing style than ray, who was more technical, so it didn’t really make sense that they’d be in the same band together. but, as you’ve heard, their guitar parts are AMAZING. frank can come up with stuff ray could never think of, and vice versa. that makes mcr’s sound really versatile and unique and UGH its so good lmao sorry haha. he will tour and play as many shows as he can until his body no longer lets him, that’s the kind of person he is. during the beginning of mcr he used shows to just let everything go, he was a fucking energizer bunny you know? and then he started getting more anxiety and stomach problems (he has a lot of fuckin health and stomach problems) and it was harder for him to be so energetic on stage, but he would still leave everything he had on the stage. i’m realizing that i’m writing way too much about frank iero but i can’t seem to stop? people will try to tell you otherwise but his last name is pronounced eye-ear-oh. got it? get it? good. he and the patience were in an accident in australia in 2016, but they have recovered and are now on the road again. 

and here i am editing in yet another addition that i forgot to include: during like 2009 or something, frank had like a myspace account or smth? and he went under the name F.T.Willz and he wrote lots of poetry and everyone knew it was him but he kept denying it. i highly recommend looking up f t willz

via Today Bharat AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Saturday demanded the government allocate a Rs 10,000 crore development package for the Old City. Participating in the debate on the Budget, Mr Owaisi demanded the government strengthen the Wakf Board and set up Sewage Treatment Plants and check the mosquito menace. Speaking on the issues related to minorities and the Old City, he pointed out that the TRS government has cumulatively allocated Rs 6,589 crore in the last five years for minorities and released Rs 4,723 crore (71.68 per cent of the allocation), while the expenditure stood at only Rs 3,839 crore (58.26 per cent). The MLA pointed out that only Rs 3crores was earmarked for pre-matric scholarship. ldquo;The amount spent on minorities is not even 1 per cent of the state expenditure,rdquo; Mr Owaisi said. ldquo;Even you admit that Muslims deserve 12 per cent share in all fronts. I will not demand 12 per cent share in the budget for Minorities, but would like to demand 2 per cent to 3 per cent share in budgetary expenditures,rdquo; he told the TRS chief. ldquo;We were standing with you and are equally responsible for our people. We have to answer to them. Assure us of releasing the allocations. The CM has announced that minorities will get benefits on par with the SCs/STs and BCs. Government has issued GO identifying 16 schemes, but none of them were implemented for minorities. Who do we present our grievances to?rdquo; Mr Owaisi said. He said that though the government has given Urdu the second official language status, justice has not been done to the language. ldquo;Only Urdu translators were appointed, but the script does not appear on signboards or buses. The city’s Frere Hall was the venue of an enlightening conversation on Karachi on Friday highlighting some of the highly positive aspects of the city that we all tend to ignore in our “one-sided” criticism of the city and our discontent with the umpteen civic problems that continue to dog the citizens -- problems of civic utilities, street crime, insanitation, and problems which all the same are very real but in their wake we just forget to see the positive aspects.Arranged by the ADA (Architecture, Design, Art) which started out as a journal but is now a civic forum, speakers traced the history of Karachi from 230 BC and all through the pre-British era India, the British period, and the post-1947 scenario.Noted architect and town planner Arif Hassan, with the help of slides, traced the history of Karachi since 1729 onwards and showed the site of 29 Hindu temples. He said that before Partition, Karachi was a predominantly Hindu city.He showed slides of the Ram Mandir where, as legend has it, Ram and Sita stayed the night on their escape from Ceylon on their way to the Hinglaj temple in Balochistan. He even showed slides of a Jewish graveyard and the umpteen Muslim shrines in town.It was almost a refresher’s course in history as he narrated how 200 people in the city were exiled to the Andamans for their part in the First War of Independence in 1857 by the British and were left to die there. He also showed slides of horse-pulled tramcars along MA Jinnah Road.Talking about the inhibiting factors, Hassan cited unbridled immigration into the city. He said that another decade and Karachi would need four million jobs to bring about calm in the city and mitigate the cycle of violence which resulted to a great extent from joblessness.He wondered where these jobs would come from. He totally disapproved of the hush-hush behind-the-scenes planning whereby the citizens’ groups and stakeholders were not taken into confidence and were just “presented” plans without being consulted.In this regard, he mentioned the 80 million dollars that had been received from the World Bank for Karachi’s uplift but none had the slightest of idea as to how that was going to be utilised. Sixty-two per cent of the citizens, he said, lived in informal settlements while only 23 per cent lived on residential lands.Durriya Qazi, head o the Visual Arts Department, University of Karachi, read a highly informative paper on the Karachi of yore, made all the more interesting by her style which engendered a very sentimental narration.She mentioned how in the days immediately following partition, one could easily get a Steinway piano from Hayden and Company on Elphinstone Street (now Zebunnisa Street), Steinway piano that nowadays costs something like five million rupees. She spoke very nostalgically of all the entertainment joints in town and how they contributed to the pulsating aspect of the city.Roland deSouza, a noted figure in civic affairs, notably Shehri (Citizens for a Better Environment) spoke about the Christians in Karachi and their contribution to the civic life and social uplift.He narrated how the Goans came to Karachi in Dhows because in Goa there were hardly any jobs. With the help of slides, he showed various Christian landmarks that came up in Karachi, like the Holy Trinity Cathedral on Abdullah Haroon Road, The St Patrick’s Cathedral, Karachi’s Anglo-Indian School in 1847, St Lawrence’s Church, and the Karachi Goan Association.He narrated how the Christians had contributed to the city’s life as teachers, doctors, academics, medical personnel, police and army officers. Azhar Zaidi of Grohe, an organisation specialising in water technology gave a talk on the way water was becoming a really precious commodity in the city. He said that most to blame was the citizens’ apathy.He warned that by 2025, there would be a crucial shortage of water. He cited the case of Jamia Darul Uloom of Karachi where, he said, GROHE had installed 106 Euroecocompatible faucets which switched off automatically after the person stopped using them, to avoid wastage.A noted architect and one of the founders of The Citizens’ Foundation (TCF), Shahid Abdullah, just debunked all the negative talk about Karachi that seemed to have become fashion and with the help of slides showed what a philanthropic city Karachi was.He said that it all resulted from donations from the public and today with the blessings of The Almighty, the TCF had 1500 schools countrywide. He said that Karachi was known to be the most philanthropic city of the world.He said, “We did not go out to any foreign organisation asking for funds. It was allon the basis of self-help by our compatriots and we managed one of the most philanthropic organisations of the country.”He narrated, with the help of slides, how the TCF had converted the most dilapidated quarters of the city into suave parks for the recreation of families and how those were being by the residents of the areas where families were going for relaxation and recreation.He outlined plans whereby they would soon be turning the Nehr-e-Khayyam in Clifton’s Boat Basin area into a clean waterway and rid it of the sludge to make it an attractive recreation spot.The tenor of his talk was that instead of just lamenting the umpteen drawbacks in the city, we should also look at the brighter side of things and do our bit to exploit the tremendous potential.He also narrated how the TCF had rebuilt houses in the upper reaches of the country ravaged by the killer earthquake of 2005 and provided running water in there, something that previously was not there. but like i said in a pervious ask, the person who uploaded the hq of this didnt keep up the domain. or whatever. so we cant see it as big as i did when i fist saw it and deciphered theres a star-type shape under there. but this pic is from october 2006 and you can tell he has a chest piece of some kind under that shirt.

so anyway yea still same timeline. sometime between mid 2005 and mid 2006 most likely for the (assumed) pentagram and baphomet. and sometime between mid 2006 and mid 2007 for the coverup to have started.

im not as into franks music as you, so maybe that influences the way i interpret his lyrics, but i personally dont think every time he addresses someone in his lyrics he's talking about a specific person. maybe some of those lines are just made up and that's fine (i don't like speculating about his marriage but i don't blame anon, frank can be pretty vague about stuff)

oh i don't like speculating about his marriage either, to be clear, i ignore almost every ask i get with jamia's name in it, like even innocent people randomly mentioning her, bc she has no place on my blog as she is not a public figure.

and yea writers do make stuff up, but to me as someone who has studied gerard and frank under a microscope for a long time, i feel like gerard is more the one that makes shit up in his lyrics. he's a story teller no doubt. i never got that same vibe from frank. i do think he's talking about specific life experiences and people in his lyrics. bc the emotions that come along with them seem so strong. and his lyrical style is sooooo much different from gerard's. like i said gerard tells stories. and i have a hard time interpreting most of them bc they're really abstract and seem a lot less like based in reality. frank on the other hand is like you hurt me and here's how. it feels a lot less like a made up story. and i do like to speculate who they're about sometimes and i think i am usually so correct <3

Funny how Frank says he met Jam back in the days and that... never wrote her a song apart from "I am sorry darling you deserve a better song"("For Jamia" are covers if I am correct). Quite interesting that he made tattoo on his right hand while leathermouth after G got married and than covered it with glove ever after during shows. I see them more like friends and mates. But you know..."My heart breaks for the artist","someone i love threw me away"... that is clear.

i dont know what you want me to say to this...i don’t talk about her or their relationship, i felt ok answering the last ask about when they met because frank has talked about all that stuff in the past. but speculation on their relationship crosses a line for me bc she’s not a public figure. i think lots of lyrics reference her and their relationship though.

and even if i’m a frerard truther i will Never discount their relationship, i know he loves her like crazy.
