RA Opportunity at Harvard Business School
Perceptions of Algorithms
How do you make decisions?  With the rise of big data, algorithms (mathematical calculations) are being used more and more to help people decide many things from who to date (OkCupid) to where to invest money (Betterment).  We are examining when people rely on advice from algorithms versus other people.  This semester, we are starting a project to test how people respond to performance feedback from algorithms versus from people.
Tasks will include all aspects of the research process such as: - Creating and piloting surveys - Creating literature reviews - Presenting research results - Paying participants  - Proofreading manuscripts - Obtaining permission to conduct research with human participants - Attend and participate in lab meetings (1hr/week)   Hours per week: 8-10 hours (including lab meeting) Mentor: Jenn Logg, Ph.D. Please send resume to: [email protected] http://www.jennlogg.com/
