Who needs partridges when you have surprises? And this one won’t fly away! Can you resist the temptation of the humble treat that awaits you on our advent calendar today? Go on, unwrap today’s surprise, a small part of the holiday season. It’s as unexpected as snowfall in July, as cheerful as a Christmas elf on a sugar rush, and, I daresay, as surprising as a cat in a Christmas tree. Maybe even as cool as a snowflake winning a dance-off! Today’s surprise, wrapped and waiting, promises a thrill more exciting than a sleigh ride with a unicorn. Will you dare to unwrap? Visit the calendar now! *Disclaimer: claims not guaranteed. (I just had a fun brainstorming session with Bing's Copilot and this was the result😂). One thing I do guarantee: the contents are recolorable. 🎨

Top ten Christmas/holiday songs?
That is a tough one - How does one choose favorite Christmas songs? Is it the song itself? Is it the particular recording by an artist?
Do I go classic? Contempotrary? Nostalgia?
There are so many facets to consider.
Here is what I decided on, in no particular order:
"My Christmas Card To You," The Partridge Family "The Christmas Wish," John Denver and the Muppets "Do They Know It's Christmas," Band Aid "Someday At Christmas," The Jackson 5 "We Need a Little Christmas," Percy Faith & His Orchestra "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," Andy Williams "Jingle Bells?" Barbra Streisand "I Believe in Santa Claus," Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers "Peace On Earth / The Little Drummer Boy," Bing Crosby & David Bowie "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem," The Judds "Once Upon a Christmas," Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers

“161 Street Scene In Chinatown” c. 1885.  Photograph by A.J. McDonald (from the Marilyn Blaisdell collection and the Oakland Museum of California).
Fatherly Images from Old Chinatown
Fatherhood is a timeless concept that transcends borders and cultures. Within the vibrant tapestry of San Francisco’s Chinatown during the pre-1906 era, the fathers of the community played a vital role in shaping the lives of their children and preserving the rich heritage of their ancestral homeland. Through their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, these fathers navigated the often daunting challenges of a hostile, white supremacist polity while preserving their cultural traditions and nurturing a sense of identity within the first of what would be several new native-born generations produced by successive waves of the Chinese American diaspora.

Life in San Francisco Chinatown during the late 19th and early 20th centuries represented a complex tapestry of adversity and opportunity.  The city’s first Chinese Americans faced discrimination, segregation, and the weight of economic privation. Yet, despite these obstacles, at least the photographic record presents the fathers of old Chinatown as beacons of strength and resilience for their families.

Photograph by Isaiah West Taber (Martin Behrman Negative Collection / Courtesy of the Golden Gate NRA, Park Archives also from the California State Library).  A Chinese father (or, as some viewers have more sinisterly implied, a “guardian”) for seven children and mother, posed on stairs leading to second floor entrance. A second man stands to left of the bottom of the stairs.

Merchants in Chinatown carried the weight of responsibility on their shoulders. They built successful businesses, often establishing general stores, herb shops, or import-export enterprises. These fathers not only provided for their families' needs but also played a significant role in fostering economic stability within the community. They managed the intricate dynamics of trade, built networks, and navigated the challenges of language and cultural barriers. Through their entrepreneurial spirit, these fathers demonstrated perseverance, resourcefulness, and a commitment to creating a better future for their children.

“Children of High Class” c. 1900.  Photograph by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Merchant Lew Kan (a.k.a. Lee Kan) walking with his two sons, Lew Bing You (center) and Lew Bing Yuen (right).  According to historian Jack Tchen, “Lew Kan was a labor manager of Chinese working in the Alaskan canneries.  He also operated a store called Fook On Lung at 714 Sacramento Street between Kearney [sic] and Dupont.  Mr. Lew was known for his great height, being over six feet tall, and his great wealth.  The boys are wearing very formal clothing made of satin with a black velvet overlay.  The double mushroom designs on the boys’ tunics are symbolic of the scepter of Buddha and long life.”

Father and child c. 1889.  Photographer unknown (from the Jesse B. Cook collection at the Bancroft Library).
On the other hand, fathers working as laborers in Chinatown faced arduous working conditions and limited job opportunities. Many found employment in industries such as laundries, restaurants, or as laborers on the Central Pacific Railroad. These fathers toiled tirelessly to ensure their children had a better life than their own, often enduring long hours and physically demanding work. They displayed immense determination, resilience, and selflessness as they braved harsh conditions and discriminatory practices.

Young girls crossing the cable car tracks on Clay Street at the northeast corner of its intersection with Dupont under the watchful eye of their father, c. 1890.  Photographer unknown (from the Marilyn Blaisdell collection).
Tumblr media
“S.F. Chinatown 1898.”  Photographer unknown (from the Martin Behrmann Collection of the GGNRA).  The daughters’ festive attire suggests that this image was taken during the Chinese New Year holidays.  The incline of the hill, the appearance of the lanterns hanging from the double-balcony façade of the Yoot Hong Low restaurant at the right of the photo, and the cable car tracks in the background indicate that the trio were walking east on Clay Street and crossing Dupont Street from the southwestern to the southeastern corner of the intersection.
Regardless of their occupation, fathers in Chinatown shared a common goal: providing for their families and instilling values in their children. They recognized that education was the key to unlocking doors of opportunity and breaking free from the confines of poverty, if not segregation. Despite facing language barriers and limited resources, these fathers encouraged their children to pursue knowledge and acquire skills that would help them succeed in the ever-changing landscape of America.

Chinese American men and child in front of building with hanging lanterns, Chinatown, San Francisco, c. 1896 - 1906.  Father and infant conferring with a smoking man on the sidewalk in front of a store.  Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).
Fatherhood in old Chinatown was also a testament to the unwavering support and sacrifice made for the well-being of the family. Many fathers left their homes and families behind in China, enduring years of separation to seek better opportunities in the United States. Their commitment to their families was demonstrated through their remittances, which provided financial stability and, for a lucky few during the Exclusion era, allowed their loved ones to join them in the new world.

“A Holiday Visit” c. 1897.  Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  According to historian Jack Tchen:  “The baby is wearing Western shoes.  The girl with the balloon is a member of the SooHoo family.  She was one of three sisters and four brothers.  She later married a Jung and had eight children.  After the earthquake, her father was a carpenter for white families who needed skilled craftsmen to restore their houses.”

Tumblr media
“New Year’s Day in Chinatown” c. 1900.  Photograph by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  “Nearly half of Genthe’s Chinatown photographs were taken during some community holiday,” historian Jack Tchen has written.  “The merchant and child are walking westward up Clay Street just above Waverly Place. The lantern directly in line with the boy’s head is a sign for the Siyi [四邑; canto: “sei yap”], or Four Districts, Association located at 820 Clay Street.”
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
“Paying New Year’s Calls” c. 1900.  Photograph by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  The two men and children appear to be walking south on Dupont Street and crossing to the southeastern corner of its intersection with Clay Street.
One can infer from the many photos that Arnold Genthe and other photographers took of fathers and holiday-garbed children that the photographers captured activities around the second day or “beginning” of Chinese New Year (開年; canto: “hoi nien”; pinyin: “kāinián”), including paying visits (or 拜年; canto: “bye nien”) to relatives for the renewal of family ties and to close friends for relationship-building.
Tumblr media
“Scene in Chinatown San Francisco” c. 1900.  Photographer unknown (from a private collection).
Tumblr media
Photograph by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Historian Jack Tchen wrote about this image as follows:  “. . . In [Genthe’s book] Old Chinatown this photo was entitled ‘He Belong Me.’  The bull’s-eye sign further down Washington Street indicates a shooting gallery. This block was only half Chinese.”  The window signage seen in the immediate background shows W.D. Hobro, “Gas & Steam Fitting,” at 728 Washington Street, across from Portsmouth Square, ca. 1897.  “Hobro ran a lucrative plumbing business serving the Chinatown area,” Tchen has written.  “Chinese were not allowed into the plumbers’ union until the late 1950s.”
Tumblr media
“A Family from the Consulate, Chinatown, San Francisco,” c. 1900-1906.  Photograph by Arnold Genthe from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.  A father and son (with a balloon), attired as befitted a merchant family, walking west on the north side of Clay above Dupont Street. More modestly-dressed passersby stare at the pair, perhaps in recognition of the man’s status as a consular official.  The long vertical signage parallel to the drainpipe in the left-hand part of the image has been damaged.  Other photos from this period show the complete sign as 包辩酒席占点心餅食俱全  (canto: “bow bin jau jik tin dim sum behng sihk geuih chuen”) or 包辦酒席 “= can host banquet;” 點心餅食 “= dim sum bakery;” 俱全 “ = both or complete.”   The writing on the lanterns at the ground floor identifies a restaurant as 悦香酒樓 (canto: “Yuet Heung Low”).  The shuttered storefront of the Yoot Hong Low restaurant’s premises at 810 Clay Street indicates that the building was closed for the New Year holiday.
Tumblr media
A father walks with his family north on Ross Alley, no date.  Photographer unknown (from a private collection).
Tumblr media
Ross Alley from Jackson Street, c. 1898.   Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Historian Jack Tchen:  “The wooden box affixed to the wall on the left was for disposing of paper scraps.  Genthe inaccurately entitled this photograph ‘Reading the Tong Proclamation.’  According to many guide pamphlets and books written during this time, these notices proclaimed who would be the next victim of tong ‘hatchet men.’  In actuality, they reported a variety of community news.”
Tumblr media
A Chinese merchant with his two children in Ross Alley of pre-1906 San Francisco Chinatown, c. 1902. Photograph attributed to Charles Weidner (from a private collection).
Tumblr media
Chinese merchant and his children.  Photographer possibly by Charles Weidner (from the Cooper Chow collection at the Chinese Historical Society of America).  This image appears to be a continuation shot of the same trio of father, daughter and son Weidner took in Ross Alley.  All three are wearing the same clothes and posing in front of what is probably the father’s business premises. Outside of his store, the merchant shows more of a smile as he looks directly at the camera lens, perhaps more familiar with the photographer.  Even his son has started to show the beginning traces of a smile.  This implies that the photographer either followed the trio from Ross Alley to the father’s place of business or encountered the merchant and his offspring for another photo.  Prominent advertising signage appears above the doorway to the business which reads from right to left as follows:  廣珍號珍珠玉器金銀首飾男女新衣蘇杭發客 or roughly “Guangzhen Pearl Jade Gold and Silver Jewelry Men’s and Women’s New Clothes Suzhou and Hangzhou” (pinyin: “Guǎng zhēn hào zhēnzhū yùqì jīnyín shǒushì nánnǚ xīn yī sūhángfā kè “; canto: “Gwong Zun ho sunjiu yok hay gam ngan sau sik nam neuih sun yee so hong faat haak”).  The barely discernible calligraphy on the upper-right pane of the store window frame bears the probable business name, 廣珍 (“Gwong Zun”).  Magnification of the window reveals at several photographs that can be seen through the window.  At least four framed photos are visible on a wall behind a desk.  On the most discernible of the photos, a figure appears to be seated and holding a fan – a pose commonly used by Chinese subjects in the studio portraiture of the late 19th century.  The figure could be an ancestor or even the merchant’s wife, as photos became essential evidence to overcome the hurdles to the effective denial of entry to the US by Chinese females after the enactment of the Page Act of 1875 which purported to bar the immigration of prostitutes.  A couple of wooden shutters appear behind the merchant and his son.  The panels would have been used to cover the window as a security measure.  A similar set of shutters also appear at the far right of the photo frame, indicating the merchant shared this alleyway or street with other businesses. Unfortunately, the signage (appearing in the upper right-hand corner of the frame), for what appears to be a street number or street name is illegible.
The fathers of old San Francisco Chinatown were unsung heroes who forged a path for future generations. Whether as successful merchants or hardworking laborers, their contributions to their families and community were immeasurable.  Their legacy is deeply ingrained in the history and fabric of modern-day Chinatown and the mythology of Chinese America itself, where their sacrifices and contributions are remembered and celebrated.
Tumblr media
A father escorts his two children across Dupont Street, heading west down the hill on the south side of Clay Street, c. 1900.  Photographer unknown (from a private collection).  The trees of Portsmouth Square park can be seen in the distance.
Today, the descendants of these fathers continue to honor their heritage, proudly embracing their Chinese American identity while embodying the resilience and determination that their fathers instilled in them.

“A Proud Father” c. 1900-1905.  Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  A  father and child are seen crossing Dupont Street at its intersection with Clay Street from the northeastern to northwestern corner.  The lanterns and balconies of the Wauy Sin Low restaurant at 808 Dupont can be seen in the background at right.   According to historian Jack Tchen, “[a] man’s elbow has been etched out of the photograph.  The object hanging above the street is an electric street light attached to a pulley.  When the bulb burned out, the light would be pulled over to the side of the street and changed.”

“Man and boy walking on street” c. 1900-1905.  Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Based on his dress, the man appears to be a merchant. The boy’s festive dress indicates that the photo was taken during a holiday.

“Waiting for the Car” c. 1904.   Photo by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Historian Jack Tchen writes about this photo as follows: “The Sue family at a Dupont Street corner.  Mrs. Sue is shown with her eldest daughter, Alice, with Elsie sandwiched between them.  Her brother-in-law is holding Harris.  Alice is wearing strings of pearls and semiprecious stones on her head dress.  Mrs. Sue is wearing a black silk-on-silk embroidered outfit.  Married women generally wore dark, subdued clothing that distinguished them from prostitutes.  Elsie and Harris are wearing leather shoes; however, Alice and her mother wear Chinese-style footwear.  Mr. Sue, who died after the 1906 earthquake, ran a doc sic guun, or “boarding house,” which fed male workers at nine in the morning and four in the afternoon, while Mrs. Sue took in sewing.  (Information provided by Alice Sue Fun.)”

“Dressed for a Visit”  c. 1896 - 1906.  Photograph by Arnold Genthe (from the Genthe photograph collection, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division).  Historian Jack Tchen:  “This photograph happens to capture the sign for the ‘Chinese Newspaper/War Kee’ at 803 Washington Street, just west of Dupont Street.  The War Kee was founded in 1875.  Although the names J. Hoffman and Chock Wong appear as the publishers of the first issue, a Yee Jenn has been cited as the founder.  The War Kee, which was the first successful Chinese weekly published in Tangrenbu, folded in 1903.  [Note: The Langley directory for 1876 contains a listing in its newspapers section for "Oriental (Chinese) Chock Wong & J. Hoffmann, 817 Washington." This address would have placed its first offices on the south side of Washington Street across from the southern entrance to Ross Alley.]

Demonstrating Sustainability – Social Sustainability
Introduction
Hello, my name is Scott thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Today I will be writing this blog that is about 2250-2750 words to introduce and give you reliable information about social sustainability I will explain what is Social Sustainability and the areas around it like the business social sustainability, festival social sustainability and food these are just a few things that this blog will contain and I hope you learn from reading my blog
Social Sustainability
Firstly let’s talk about what is the definition of social sustainability. “Social sustainability is a variously defined term that generally refers to the social dimensions of sustainability. In a normative sense it refers to the social goals of sustainability strategies” (Partridge, E. 2014). until recently social sustainability was looked at in a not important manner however many companies and many aspects rely on having a positive sustainable social standard.
Social sustainability can also be described as a process to create successful places to promote wellbeing to understand what people need/necessities they need to live and also at their workplace. What is well-being though you may be asking? Well, well-being is described as a state of happiness or feeling comfortable both physically or mentally well-being is influenced by many factors including social relationships and taking care of your well-being is very very extremely important because to lack of well-being can lead to many dark paths (Bing n.d what is wellbeing). for example, depression could occur due to poor well-being and depression can be caused you many bad factors like procrastination this is why social sustainability is so important so people don’t feel alone and fall into the hole of bad mental health/bad well-being.
Moving on mentioned before social sustainability is often overlooked as an aspect of sustainability due to a lot of people don’t find it as a worldwide issue and should be addressed more as a worldwide issue social sustainability is described as a process for creating sustainable places that promote peoples mental health and wellbeing by understanding what are the essentials people need and the area people live in and what industry people work in social sustainability is a combination of two different parts. The physical realm of social sustainability and the social world What I mean by the social world is that some people fear that when living in an area some people may be scared that people will not be very kind to different cultures so to combat this I believe if we teach people more about the social impact people will be more kind towards other cultures
Social Sustainability from a Business Prospective
Secondly, social sustainability from a business perspective is explained as knowing the impacts of cooperation and society and in the business sector there are huge issues with social sustainability due to not all jobs being fair and equality(UNSDG 2023) is still a huge issue in most places for example gender pay gap you may be asking what it is well in one source I have found describes it as. “Gender pay gap refers to the difference in salaries earned by men and women” (Indeed Career Guide)they also state women get paid 15% less than men so some businesses can abuse this and get away with paying people less which is not very sustainable for people and can cause for argument however from another source it states is about “12%”(European parliament 2020) are woman are paid less than men so I would say on average is about 12-15% due to comparing both pieces of secondary information so what does this mean for society. The standard for society in 2023 is that everyone should respect each other no matter the gender and this issue should be pressed forward a lot more to ensure equality for both genders male/female
Identifying Festival Social Impacts
Firstly festival social impacts have a variety of good social benefits, there is a saying called the public culture which is described as a way for voices to be heard. (p. 100 Black, N. (2016) Festivals are one of the best ways to bring the community together for example festivals teach us new ways to learn about others and strengthen relationships and can bring the community together very easily (www.cfra.org. n.d.) an example of this is pride Glasgow were thousands come to celebrate LGBTQT+ equality (Anon, n.d. Pride Glasgow). Festivals can bring many cultures together and people can showcase expression by dressing in traditional cultural attire another thing is people can showcase food from their culture to shoe others new foods and tastes, however, there are negative sides of festival social impacts, for example, traffic congestion, overcrowding and vandalism (Small, K.E.2023) first off an example of this is Woodstock 1999 were there were many bad incidences one of the big things that happened was that there was a lot of garbage at the end of the festival that wasn’t recyclable and also due to Woodstock 1999 have great weather during it there was a lot of complaints about the smell of the trash there was 1,261 tons of solid waste and caused an outrage at the festival (Somers, J.2021) not only that Woodstock had riots and vandalism happen young kids were making fires, smashing equipment, and fighting and in the conclusion of all this they were causing a massive ruckus. They say this happened due to Limp Bizkit egging on the crowd however in my opinion it was bound to happen either way but take this as you will.
Cultural exchange/Food tourism and events as tools for social sustainability
Now I will be talking about cultural exchange and how it allows people/visitors to experience different traditions and allows people to engage with local communities and form a bigger appreciation among people from diverse backgrounds. Food can bring people together for example food can be used as an act of hospitality and can forge meaningful connections and gain trust from others (Chloe 2023). Another thing is food events are often used as a tool for sustainability for example through food tourism (www.proquest.com. n.d) some people visit other places just to try new food which can bring people joy/happiness enhancing mental well-being for one’s mental health.
Community Empowerment
Secondly, I will be talking about community empowerment is a saying that refers to the process of enabling communities to allow people to control their own lives and empowerment refers to the process that people control there own life and to shape there own paths/shape in life (World Health Organisation 2021) Community empowerment is mainly about groups come in together as a community and the groups that are involved are inclusive and organised (Anon,n.d.).
Social inclusion
Thirdly I will talk about social inclusion. Firstly social inclusion makes it so events can be designed to be inclusive and accessible to all this promotes social equality and can help others to foster other cultures and different backgrounds. the main benefits as stated before are promoting equality and eliminating discrimination, How to promote social inclusion is by encouraging community participation in social/cultural/political events (Building Better Opportunities’.). However, many more benefits are looking at in gov. uk they state that it increases the opportunity for the community and allows communities to participate in society more (Charity Commission 2001)
Corporate social responsibility or sustainability in music festivals
Now I am going to be talking about Corporate social responsibility or sustainability in music festivals firstly working with partners means we can achieve a lot more and has a real potential to make a real difference in people’s lives, (www.rospa.com.n.d.). positively this would mean people will get more help and support if needed and security measures will be in place to ensure safety is the top priority. But you may ask who benefits from corporate social responsibility(CSR) well A CSR partnership with RoSPA can help your organisation tremendously and give a boost in positive social change. If you want to make a difference in society through a programme of CSR activity, you’ll find many more massive benefits that come with CSR. For example, the biggest benefit you get from (CSR) is that it gives media exposure therefor can help with marketing there for helping promote the festival with a massive impact there are also more benefits for example it can improve the public image/increase employee satisfaction/increases creativity and finally increases customer loyalty (Russell, K.2018) all theses benefits help by providing a lot more recognition to the festival and can bring a lot more attention to the social side of the festivals in general but at the end of the day (CSR) is a win-win company need to understand that having corporate social responsibility implemented into there festival/event will allow growth for the festival and it’s a key opportunity to showcase core values and create a much more safe space for customers and employees.
Social sustainability equity
Now I will be talking about Social sustainability equity what is Social sustainability equity? you may be asking well it means that when people think sustainability they think saving the planet however the concept of social equity is about community and it is part of the UN 17 sustainable development goals and it is to reduce inequality’s this goal was put into place to give society a wider opportunity’s and let people grow as individuals however currently some cultures face discrimination which closes the doors for opportunity’s and this is why the goal is put in place to ensure all people can have the option to do what they want to do (Mrs Greens World.2019)
Social health and wellbeing
Now moving on to social health and well-being, firstly what is the importance of social health well there are many main factors why social health is important for example it can increase your ability to build healthy relationships and the quality of relationships can be to a high standard by doing this it will overall improve your quality of life and you will have people there that you can trust well as if you have poor relationships you might become lonely and research shows that ongoing loneliness can cause chronic stress and can be linked to many physical problems and strong social connection can lead to a longer life span as well so this makes it a very important topic (Waters, S.2022 What Is Social Health). So the Link between well-being and social health is there and there is a saying for this called Social wellness there are many different ways to improve your social wellness firstly by self-care what this means is looking after yourself, for example, having good sleep and not abusing your body forcing it to stay up another thing you can do is do sport/excises this will mentally be challenging but the reward is there that it makes you fit and active therefore allowing you to feel more comfortable and confident in your skin allowing you for more social opportunity’s.
Social Impact Investing
Now i will be Talking about social impact investing, What is Social impact investing? well it is a way for a government to address social issues in collaboration with non-profit organisations and for profit sectors through a focus of outcomes and the outcomes supports innovation and provides major flexibility to better meet the needs of individuals it also ensures a lot of beneficial factors from this ‌(Investment, O. of S.I.2023).
Conclusion
In conclusion from all I have spoken about there are many aspects to social sustainability that hopefully you have learnt by reading this blog and how social sustainability links to many aspects for example well-being and community is a key factor when it comes to the topic and I have made sure to include this. In my personal opinion I find it fascinating that there are so many different elements but my favour element is the equality aspect because people don’t realise how important it is and there is so much information about it and how inequality still happens in the modern era another thing I would like to say is how important community empowerment is this is another overlooked aspect of social sustainability and how communities allow people to gain control of their own live and shape how they live due to feeling safe within a community and I find this very important personally because I relate a lot to it I believe that having people there to motivate you through hard times is beneficial and this also then links to wellbeing witch is also connected to social sustainability die to wellbeing is linked to social heath and how if your lonely it can damage your mental heath a lot but if your in a community or have people around you it can boost Ur work ethic and motivation by a huge amount. The reason why I’m mentioning all this again is to prove that social sustainability links to most things around it and how its such a big topic for discussion however it doesn’t seem to be mentioned to much through out the government or in general terms either.
To sum up my conclusion I think that the government should focus on the aspects of what I have spoken about in this blog to spread more awareness through out society and to implement this topic in the education system to show everyone how important having a good social life or social knowledge can help you through your career and life in general I heavily do wish for this to happen and I hope that you do to i really hope you enjoyed reading this blog I put a lot of effort into it and also hope you find it informal and fascinating and will share it to others if you wish to do so my name is Scott Lewis and thank you for reading.

COUNT CLAUS AND THE 12 UNWELCOME GIFTS
By Derrick Zurn
Tumblr media
Late one Christmas after another successful toy run, Count Claus settled down in his cozy chair, as warm as a cinnamon bun. He and his orb headed friend Credence were gleefully partaking in a hot cocoa binge, a happy, quiet, peaceful evening in the making. They talked about the goodies they delivered the previous night, how little Sondra got her new porcelain doll and Johnny got a brand new polka dot kite. When all of a sudden a grand knocking was heard from the nearby door, as the noise continued, the Count declared that he couldn't take it anymore! He ran over to the door as fast as a rabbit to put an end to the loud door knocking habit. He opened it up and to his surprise, a parade like procession started piling into his home of great proportion and size. It was a gift from his wife, the great Countess Claus and what the Count saw next would deliver many oohs and aahs!
Tumblr media
It was a cantankerous pear tree with leaves galore and on his head, an annoying partridge was perched which made his brain quite sore.
Tumblr media
Next were two turtledoves with feathers and hard shells which jangled when tapped on like the sweetest of bells.
Tumblr media
Three hens from Paris, Sacrebleau! The phrases they were saying, God only knew!
Tumblr media
Four calling birds all chatting on their phones, some with loud, squeaky voices, others with low speaking tones.
Tumblr media
Next flew in five shimmering gold rings which you wouldn't want to put on your fingers, they were like piranhas, the nasty things!
Tumblr media
A six headed goose laying a green and red egg. Be sure not to disturb it or it may peck off your leg!
Tumblr media
There were seven swans swimming in a giant bath tub getting feathers and water all over the room, rub a dub dub!
Count Claus' temper was rising, he couldn't put it to words. He finally mustered up the strength and shouted ENOUGH WITH THESE BIRDS!
Tumblr media
And Count Claus never expected next, the odd creature which finagled it's way into his home, causing chaos and wrecks! It was a massive spotted cow with utters spewing white milk and on it's body, the heads and arms of eight crazy maids, the despicable, scary ilk!
Tumblr media
Something pleasant was next, though also quite odd. A dancing lady with nine heads, pirouetting and giving a nod.
Tumblr media
And if the house wasn't crowded already, in jumped ten leaping lords, they just couldn't be steady. There was a frog lord, a dog lord, a grasshopper, gazelle, a rabbit, spider, reindeer, monkey, horse and kangaroo that bounced like hell!
Tumblr media
In came the band, eleven alien pipers playing. They all blew on different flute like instruments, swinging and swaying! Toot, foot, swizzleroo boot, dootdoot prizzleboo, razzirazzi root!
And as Count Claus prepared to kick everyone out of the house with his cane, in floated a massive drum and he thought he had gone insane! Then floated twelve sets of flying hands and heads each with drumsticks, the most ghastly of dreads. They took their sticks to the drum, parup abum bum! The Count's brain was going numb!
Tumblr media
Parup abum bum, they played more and more and the Count got dizzy and plummeted to the floor. All he wanted was a quiet Christmas evening, that's what he enjoys, but now he had all these unwelcome guests making all this horrible
NOISE NOISE NOISE!!!!
Finally, the Count rose to his feet, his eyes burning like yule logs, his howl was as fierce as that of a dog's. He put his arms in the air, prepared to shout and finally let out a earblasting....
Tumblr media
GET OUT!!!!!
Out flew the drummers, the fluters and leapers, the nine headed dancer, the cow with it's housecreepers. Out with the pool party swans and the egg laying goose, the piranha rings, the chatty birds on the loose. And out with the french hens, out with the reptilian doves! And last of all, out with the pear tree with the partridge above!
Out with everyone, Merry Christmas to all! It's been one heck of a night, I've had quite a ball! Now I want to rest, take a much needed nap. I've certainly had enough of this ruckus and boisterous crap!
So he returned to his cocoa, to his cozy evening chair. And for the rest of the evening, the peaceful sound of a crackling fire and wind outside filled the air.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM DERRICK ZURN'S MOON OF TOONS!
