How I organize this blog.
This is a post specifically for writers and kink-writers. I'm gonna be talking about how *I* organize my stuff and a system that I feel works well.
It doesn't mean my way is the only way, but it IS a way I've found manageable and as someone with 200+ fics, being easy to navigate is my number 1 concern.

Tagging system
This is my touchstone, my everything in this blog. I have three "categories" of tags I use.
Character Tag: So I tag my sickee in every fic. JUST the sickee/whumped charcter. I try to use the full name (Lucas Atwood) or the nickname that is easier to come to mind (Vince Monacelli).
Why is this important? One day you're going to get an anon saying "hey I'd really like to read all your fics with John". And then you'll have to go and hunt for all your fics with John. One day you'll be writing something and be like "is Mary allergic to peanuts?" and then you'll want to go back and read just the Mary fics. This WILL happen and you'll be glad you can just click the "Mary" tag and go through all your Mary fics.
Organization Tag: I use #mywriting for every single fic I write, tiny or large. Other tags I also use #myocs for all questions I get regarding them and #ocsfaces for everything I've ever posted regarding their appearance. I also use #meta for everything regarding the act of writing.
Why is it important? Sometimes you'll want to reblog other creators' works or you'll go on an answering asks spree and then suddenly, if someone was to stumble in your blog, your writing is actually in page 3 or 4. This is why #mywriting is important, so people can go straight to that, sorted by the most recent piece. Also, updating your masterlist is a pain in the ass, but tagging is easy. You WILL get asks about your OCs eye color, height, whatever, this is the reason for the other two tags.
Please Notice Me Tags: Well, I write sick fics, so everything is tagged #sickfic, #emetophilia, #flu... etc etc. This is just so other likeminded people will find your stuff in the tag! It can also serve as an organization tag if you remember that you always tag "#stomach flu", but I sometimes flip flop between how to tag each illness so in my case is not for organization, is more for marketing reasons.
Why is it important? Well, you put time and effort into this! You want people to read it <3

Pinned Post
This is already common practice around these lands, but here are some things I think are important.
Add your tags (character and organization, only. Not the marketing tags) to your pinned post, so you can easily find them. My pinned post has every character I have tagged, because its easier for ME to navigate my own blog this way.
Please, for the love of god, assign a name to yourself. It doesn't have to be your name, hell it doesn't have to be even A name, it can be "Book/Seven/Cool Dog Name", it just makes it so much easier to interact with other creators when I don't have to call them "kinkmasteremeto102" every time I reblog from them.
Either have your masterlist under a "read more" in your pinned post or add a link to it. I recommend having a link to your masterlist, it has worked to me and this way you can reblog the masterlist without having to reblog your pinned post with more personal info every time.
If there's something you absolutely don't write, don't want requests, this is the place to put it! Make it clear from the get go to avoid exhausting interactions.
In my case I know people mostly come to my blog for emeto, so I mark my fics that have no emeto with **, but that's just personal preference, it doesn't actually make my life easier.

Archive
One day, maybe next week, maybe in six months, another tumblr scare "the website is going down" will happen. And then you'll freak out and cry, if you're like me and doesn't wanna lose your fics in case this website goes up in smoke.
I HIGHLY recommend saving your fics elsewhere, as well as tumblr. Not to have a reader base there, just for safety. Here are some options:
Archiveofourown, tagged as original work: it's a fucking hassle to put up, but if you're starting to post works, it's actually very easy to maintain. In my case, with 200+ fics it didn't work bc I didn't have the patience to upload all of them there, but as a creator who still has a small number and working your way up, I think this is a good one!
Google Drive. Scary, I know, because Google is watching over you, but this is the method that worked for me. Here's how I do it: have a google account JUST for my kink stuff, that has no ties whatsoever to my real person. Not the security email, not a similar password, nothing. Only use it in an anonymous tab and then you can use the entire Drive Suite to upload your fics in a big document, your OC info in a google sheet, etc etc.
Waybackmachine. I haven't actually ever used this one, but I know its an internet archive and you can take "snapshots" of your blog, so they're saved there forever. Unsure how it works, though.

Oh ANOTHER thing. Always tag your anons if they sign their stuff. I know it's common practice already, but doesn't hurt to reiterate.
If you get an ask signed as - 🙈anon, tag the fic/request/answer with "# 🙈 anon" as well, this way the anon can later easily find their question in your blog. 💛

Hello everyone, we may be back, we'll see how long we can withstand Tumblr bugs and failures!
A few changes as this blog tries to continue despite Tumblr:
Because people can no longer see the original poster, and only the one who reblogged it to you; the original artist's name will always be added and linked at the bottom so that you can find them. (This depends on browser types, sometimes the original poster's name and avatar is visible, sometimes not. This will be for just in case.)
Unfortunately, this is impossible to do retroactively, or may cause confusion if the original blog's name changes, however you go to the post on someone's blog, you should be able to see the correct original poster.
Art that may be upsetting with themes of body horror, extreme violence, and so on will have Community Tags. If you think these tags are in error, please comment why you think so, so that the decision of whether to tag it or not is clearer.
Drugs and sexual nudity are rare, but will be warned of, for those at work, school, or near others who may be upset about art that's different than what they want to see.
If you want to help support the artists directly, it is recommended you look up 'Commission' art, or Blaze the artist on Tumblr directly. Also checking out Artist's linked stores, art blogs, or other projects will help show them you enjoy their work.
Due to the backlog while vainly hoping Tumblr would be improved, artist or artpiece suggestions will be on pause. In a few months, please check if that's available again.

Reminder: I won’t be tagging any kuro spoilers aside from the new monthly manga chapters.
If for some reason you are following me but don’t want to see stuff related to the new kuro anime, either bc you don’t want spoilers for it or just aren’t interested, you can blacklist the tag #book of weston as that’s the tag I’ve been using for all of the anime-related posts. That’s not the official tag so it won’t block other posts connected to the anime in case for some reason you just don’t wanna see mine lmao 🤣
Keep in mind that *may* catch some manga-only posts bc once I start using an anime tag for kuro i often stick with it for ease (I used to separate them but not anymore lol).
I also try to tag every post that may be construed as #sebaciel if I feel like it may make someone uncomfortable who doesn’t like the ship so it’ll get filtered. If it’s ambiguous or the artist has asked not to use that tag then I won’t.
On the other hand, if you’re here and don’t want to see any post that IS NOT kuro related, you can blacklist #not kuro. I’ll admit I don’t tag EVERY single non-related post that way (sometimes i’m too tired), but I would say I tag about 90% at least.
If you ever have questions about my tagging system, you’re free to ask any time, even on anon.
I tag for myself mostly bc I get twitchy if I am not organized, but I don’t mind using certain tags if you’re reasonable about your requests and not a dick. ;)

Should I make a sideblog for my fandom stuff?
This blog has a bunch of stuff going on, and I'm wondering if I should separate it out a bit. This would remain my blog for whump writing stuff, and I would put my fandom stuff on my sideblog. I'm sure my whumpblr friends would like to be bombarded with fewer dpxdc crossover posts!
But in the same thing, I have a bunch of followers on here for the fandom stuff specifically, which makes me hesitant to do the sideblog thing. So, poll time.

Q: What are your other socials?
A: I have all the main ones I most actively use listed on my website!
Q: Are you ok with reposts? What about people making stuff based on your posts (fanfictions, art, expanding on your posts etc.)
A: I'm not ok with people reposting my art. Please don't do that. As for the rest, as long as I'm given credit- I love it! If you make something based on one of my posts, drawings, AUs etc. please let me know! I'd love to see it!
Q: Are you still working on [insert project]?
A: If you don't see me actively post about a specific project, it's likely either on hold, on hiatus or just straight-up cancelled. Asking me to keep working on it isn't going to change my mind. I do these things for fun! When I get bored or demotivated, I stop working on it till I have more motivation.
Q: Why haven't you answered my ask?
A: Full disclosure: months often go by before I answer my inbox. I open it sporadically and eventually answer all my asks in a batch when they pile up. It's a really bad habit I had since I started using Tumblr years ago, I really apologize for the wait.
Q: Why do you delete posts sometimes?
A: I mostly do it for aesthetic reasons! I enjoy scrolling through my blog like it's a little gallery (very normal I know), and some posts are a bit of of an eyesore or just not that memorable so I eventually got rid of them.
In case you you are wondering what happaned to all the text posts from my main blog @/katzone- I deleted them bc I repurposed that blog to be art-only, similarly how I got rid of basically all my reblogged posts on this blog (aside from specific posts like signal boosts or promo or reblogging gifts ppl made for me) when it was repurposed to become a sideblog for rambling/doodles.
Also I have decided I will no longer post about stuff that makes me upset or angry, not because I think expressing negative emotions is bad, but bc I think doing so online is bad for me personally (it really negatively impacts my mental state and brings out my worst traits).
The same goes for posts expressing my hot takes or negative opinions. I don't think the internet is a good place to post my every waking thought, especially knowing how often I reconsider my opinions as my understanding of things develops and changes!
So I basically deleted all of those posts, regardless of whether I still agree or disagree with them, I don't want that negativity on my blog!
Q: Can you tell us more about yourself?
A: The age of having info in my bio has ended. Solve my riddle.

I don’t know how many of you have it or if this would be interesting enough, but I got the Blu-ray to both the original and Legacy. I know the 82’ movie at least has a TON of bonus features like the cut love scenes and some more stuff. It’s early 2000s so it has a wonderfully cheesy Home Screen too. I recommend it.
Anyways— would you guys be interested if I shared all the bonus stuff with everyone?
