The Magic Users Before Old Valyria, Part One: Magical Nuclear Fallout
i am positive this post has been made before but i'm making it anyway because it's eating away at my brain so let's gooooo.
We are delving into a fever dream that Dany has in AGOT, that will take us to the Pre-Valyrian magical users and their link to Valyria.
so in Dany's fever dream in AGOT, she has a vision of her ancestors:
Ghosts lined the hallway, dressed in the faded raiment of kings. In their hands were swords of pale fire. They had hair of silver and hair of gold and hair of platinum white, and their eyes were opal and amethyst, tourmaline and jade.
They look just like other Valyrians - hair of gold, white, and silver with funky colored eyes.
But note the exact gems mentioned! In TWOIAF, we get a little background on Yi Ti and their belief system. read here:
[In the beginning] a single realm ruled by the God-on-Earth, the only begotten son of the Lion of Night and Maiden-Made-of-Light, who traveled about his domains in a palanquin carved from a single pearl and carried by a hundred queens, his wives. For ten thousand years the Great Empire of the Dawn flourished in peace and plenty under the God-on-Earth, until at last he ascended to the stars to join his forebears.
Dominion over mankind then passed to his eldest son, who was known as the Pearl Emperor and ruled for a thousand years. The Jade Emperor, the Tourmaline Emperor, the Onyx Emperor, the Topaz Emperor, and the Opal Emperor followed in turn, each reigning for centuries…
When the daughter of the Opal Emperor succeeded him as the Amethyst Empress, her envious younger brother cast her down and slew her, proclaiming himself the Bloodstone Emperor and beginning a reign of terror. He practiced dark arts, torture, and necromancy, enslaved his people, took a tiger-woman for his bride, feasted on human flesh, and cast down the true gods to worship a black stone that had fallen from the sky.
Opal, Amethyst, Tourmaline, and Jade Emperors, just like her ancestors. It's not a huge stretch to say that likely, Dany, and therefore Valyrians as a whole (or at the least the Dragon Riders of Valyria) are the remnants of this ancient empire, The Great Empire of the Dawn, the same way that the Ghiscari culture is the remnant of Old Ghis - changed a bit, but with many similarities passed down amongst its people.
But who exactly is this civilization and how did they eventually turn into the Valyrians? Well, let's keep continuing with that passage about the Bloodstone Emperor:
In the annals of the Further East, it was the Blood Betrayal, as his usurpation is named, that ushered in the age of darkness called the Long Night…How long the darkness endured no man can say, but all agree that it was only when a great warrior—known variously as Hyrkoon the Hero, Azor Ahai, Yin Tar, Neferion, and Eldric Shadowchaser—arose to give courage to the race of men and lead the virtuous into battle with his blazing sword Lightbringer that the darkness was put to rout, and light and love returned once more to the world.
Basically, the people of Yi Ti believe that the Great Empire of the Dawn stretched far across the globe, and that when the Bloodstone Emperor usurped his niece, The Amethyst Empress, potentially using some weird blood magic, it caused the Long Night and the collapse of the Great Empire of the Dawn.
I think that this blood magic he was messing around with was, to use a metaphor, basically a magic nuclear bomb and I think ground zero for this - and therefore the capital of the Great Empire of the Dawn - is Asshai-by-the-Shadow. It's very notable that Asshai is so old its people don't even know what its origins are:
The ancient port of Asshai stands at the end of a long wedge of land, on the point where the Jade Sea meets the Saffron Straits. Its origins are lost in the mists of time. Even the Asshai’i do not claim to know who built their city; they will say only that a city has stood here since the world began and will stand here until it ends. Few places in the known world are as remote as Asshai, and fewer are as forbidding. Travelers tell us that the city is built entirely of black stone: halls, hovels, temples, palaces, streets, walls, bazaars, all. Some say as well that the stone has a greasy, unpleasant feel to it, that it seems to drink the light, dimming tapers and torches and hearth fires alike.
Note that last part, about the city being built from black stone - Valyria is well known for having Weird, Cool Architecture that involves black stone, fused together by dragon fire. From ADWD prologue:
Across the wide blue expanse of the Rhoyne, he could see the Black Wall that had been raised by the Valyrians when Volantis was no more than an outpost of their empire: a great oval of fused stone two hundred feet high and so thick that six four-horse chariots could race around its top abreast, as they did each year to celebrate the founding of the city.
and again from Tyrion's POV:
The gateway to the Long Bridge was a black stone arch carved with sphinxes, manticores, dragons, and creatures stranger still. Beyond the arch stretched the great span that the Valyrians had built at the height of their glory, its fused stone roadway supported by massive piers.
And one more time F&B/The Princess and the Queen, when Aegon and Sunfyre on are Dragonstone:
Sunfyre’s scales still shone like beaten gold in the sunlight, but as he sprawled across the fused black Valyrian stone of the yard, it was plain to see that he was a broken thing, he who had been the most magnificent dragon ever to fly the skies of Westeros
rip to the hottest dragon in westeros.
It's very much a Valyrian thing, this fused black stone...yet the entirety of Asshai is built with black stone, even though the city predates Valyria, and the black stone of Asshai is just a little different - a greasy, unpleasant feeling. I think that this greasy feeling comes from the remnants of the magic that caused the Long Night - going back to that idea of a magical nuclear bomb which is poisoning the land the way radiation does. I think this because there are actually several ancient cities of mysterious origin with black stone and a greasy, oily feeling to them, all of which seem to have suffered some sort of magical nuclear fallout the way Asshai has, and they're all not too far from each other either:
The Idol on the Isle of Toads in the Basilisk Isles
Ruins found upon the Isle of Tears, the Isle of Toads, and Ax Island hint at some ancient civilization, but little is now known of these vanished men of the Dawn Age. If any still survived when the first corsairs settled on the islands, they were soon put to the sword, so no trace of them now remains … save perhaps upon the Isle of Toads…
On the Isle of Toads can be found an ancient idol, a greasy black stone crudely carved into the semblance of a gigantic toad of malignant aspect, some forty feet high. The people of this isle are believed by some to be descended from those who carved the Toad Stone, for there is an unpleasant fishlike aspect to their faces, and many have webbed hands and feet. If so, they are the sole surviving remnant of this forgotten race.
The Five Forts
The Five Forts are very old, older than the Golden Empire itself; some claim they were raised by the Pearl Emperor during the morning of the Great Empire to keep the Lion of Night and his demons from the realms of men … and indeed, there is something godlike, or demonic, about the monstrous size of the forts, for each of the five is large enough to house ten thousand men, and their massive walls stand almost a thousand feet high.
Certain scholars from the west have suggested Valyrian involvement in the construction of the Five Forts, for the great walls are single slabs of fused black stone that resemble certain Valyrian citadels in the west … but this seems unlikely, for the Forts predate the Freehold’s rise, and there is no record of any dragonlords ever coming so far east.
The Ancient City of Yeen
Maesters and other scholars alike have puzzled over the greatest of the engimas of Sothoryos, the ancient city of Yeen. A ruin older than time, built of oily black stone, in massive blocks so heavy that it would require a dozen elephants to move them, Yeen has remained a desolation for many thousands of years, yet the jungle that surrounds it on every side has scarce touched it.
And even more suspicious is the fact that Sothoryos, where Yeen is located, is known for its large wyvern population:
Most terrible of all are the wyverns, those tyrants of the southern skies, with their great leathery wings, cruel beaks, and insatiable hunger. Close kin to dragons, wyverns cannot breathe fire, but they exceed their cousins in ferocity and are a match for them in all other respects save size.
Now there's different stories on how dragons came to be, but most interesting to me is what the Asshai'i claim:
The Valyrians themselves claimed that dragons sprang forth as the children of the Fourteen Flames, while in Qarth the tales state that there was once a second moon in the sky. One day this moon was scalded by the sun and cracked like an egg, and a million dragons poured forth. In Asshai, the tales are many and confused, but certain texts—all impossibly ancient—claim that dragons first came from the Shadow, a place where all of our learning fails us. These Asshai’i histories say that a people so ancient they had no name first tamed dragons in the Shadow and brought them to Valyria, teaching the Valyrians their arts before departing from the annals.
Septon Barth later writes that he believes Valyrians used wyverns and blood magic to make dragons:
In Septon Barth’s Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns, he speculated that the bloodmages of Valyria used wyvern stock to create dragons. Though the bloodmages were alleged to have experimented mightily with their unnatural arts, this claim is considered far-fetched by most maesters, among them Maester Vanyon’s Against the Unnatural contains certain proofs of dragons having existed in Westeros even in the earliest of days, before Valyria rose to be a power.
So to sum up basically:
Dany's vision shows us her ancestors, who are almost definitely the rulers of the Great Empire of the Dawn
We know several cities - Asshai, Yeen, the Isle of Toads - that have an architectural resemblance to the fused black stone that the Valyrians used, but their structures predate Valyria.
We know Septon Barth believes dragons were made through blood magic with wyverns as a base stock and that there are a lot of wyverns in one of these ancient places, Sothoryos/Yeen, where the black stone architecture is found.
The people of Yi Ti believe that a magical calamity of some sort caused the Long Night.
THEREFORE: The Great Empire of the Dawn had its capital in Asshai, and used blood magic to start the Long Night (by accident, most likely), which caused a huge magical calamity that affected the entire world, and while their people never recovered from it, they brought their magical knowledge with them to their new home in Valyria, where they made more black fused stone architecture and turned their wyverns into dragons. Meanwhile, the "ground zero" for much of this magical calamity still experiences the magical fallout of this calamity.
OKAY. That's part one because this is getting super long winded. Part Two will be....JUST HOW BIG WAS THE GREAT EMPIRE OF THE DAWN ANYWAY?

two touhou characters who could easily be playable in future danmaku games: Minamitsu and Futo
Minamitsu would be a spread-shot type; her shots are water splashes like those that a ship makes in the ocean. Her spell card/bomb is just the fucking Palanquin Ship charging through the screen
Futo would be a gimmick type; her shot is essentialy the same as Marisa's B weapon in Subterranean Animism (it fits because its based on Wu Xing which is a basis for Feng Shui)

Bomb Palanquin

Inktober Day 28: Float
I don't know how they float so high up, but they do! I mean, without spontaneously deciding to combust at a completely inopportune time like they do in dungeons. But, it's one of my favorite mounts, so it's cool. Though, I imagine Lunaire's first time on the mount went more like, "Oh gods, oh gods. Sweet Menphina, let me down! There are no safety measures on this palanquin!" And everyone laughed as the Warrior of Light cried like a child while she was only a few feet in the air.

The Boyz - Checkmate (Other version I watched)
Aight. Y'all knew this was coming and we are here now. We are HERE. NOW.
God okay let's start first with the literal opening shot. Remember Danger? Round one? Swinging pocket watch, the hat?? The flashy costumes, the confidence?? YEAH DUDES BRING IT BACK!! And not only that but they connected it to Reveal and Quasi una fantastia. Once again guys, we stan continuity. Literal story arc.
The conscious decision to start with Younghoon who ended Quasi. The conscious decision to have the barren tree burst into full bloom, only to melt into the fiery background of Reveal. Juyeon's entrance with the crown that he took back at the end of Reveal. Continuing on to Q who had the crown stolen from him at the beginning of Reveal, having him take it back and open the performance with a small solo dance as he did in Danger. (Side note, that ripple stop effect with the backup dancers? Beautiful.) I know Q did the jump off in Sword of Victory but Sunwoo did the major stunt in Danger and just that pass off, including all the elements. I'm screaming!!
Climbing up the staircase to the shadow screen throne was a beautiful touch. I've complained about this before with other groups and I've praised TBZ time and time again for this but their story building and concept execution is probably the best I've ever seen. I think a lot of 4th gen groups tend to struggle with creating cohesive story lines but TBZ does it really well. I wouldn't say flawlessly but as performances, excellent job.
I'm a tiny bit puzzled as to why Sunwoo fell from there but (theory time) I could see it as a fall from grace and then Checkmate being a struggle to reclaim the crown again. Kind of like how they fell from 1st place in round 3 and now this live round is their stake in clawing their way back up to Kingdom again.
The backup dancers were on! point! I know in the other performance I watched (linked above), TBZ did everything themselves but in this case they obviously couldn't do that. So having the backup dancers create that tension with the stop and go choreo was a good decision. I loved their costumes as well! All black but still fitting with the theme, the hats particularly got me to think like ah, this is royalty.
Sunwoo is such a performer holy shiiiiit. Facial expressions on point! I loved the kind of gothic hallways the LED screen had on. Checkmate is a darker song than any of the ones they did before. Danger and Reveal are both exciting, energetic songs whereas Quasi was really beautiful and not gentle necessary but passionate? But anyways Checkmate starts in a minor piano progression and the LED screen change just served to bolster that feeling.
Three-way chess hehe. I wonder how you play that? Did y'all know there's like a 5 dimension time travelling chess game on Steam? Physics folks are scary.
Juyeon's complete freeze when Hyunjae has his line is incredible. Same with Hyunjae when Juyeon starts singing again! The discipline!
YOOOO okay I had to rewatch the performance for this part but if you look carefully on the chessboard, it looks like none of the three sides have their king piece!! I was drawn to that when Younghoon says Check your king, like okay!! Go off!! They just know for a fact that people like me exist who scrutinize every detail dhjkf
Sunwoo looks so clean in his lines and his dance. Kevin being pushed around is both hilarious and also impactful because his line is I ain't never satisfied, and the image + vocal cue brings up the image of both a spoiled royal and also an ambitious one. They just flipped the table for Hyunjae to stand on so I'm like. What happened to the pieces?? Lmao, they probably just shoved them off to some backup dancers or smth but that was funny to me.
I like their continued use of swords as well. TBZ used a katana for their 90 sec performance but obviously with this performance being more medieval, makes total sense to have more European style long swords.
Since Checkmate is obviously a chess term, they did a complete chess royalty concept and I adored it. The costumes are everything, I love the detailing in the beading and chains! The split between black and white! Silver accents!!
Their chorus dance was so good, aughghghgh.
Once again, the backup dancer army. Just. Wonderful additions to creating the world of the performance. And again, similarly to Kevin on the chair, Sunwoo on the chair being lifted like a palanquin just continues to reinforce the idea that they're the best, above everyone else. Sunwoo commands the soldiers (dancers), tells them to go this way or that. He is the king and there's no question about it.
Sangyeon, Q, Jacob and Eric. Please. My heart. One thing about this section, I love that they really used the full extent of the stage. They didn't hesitate to use the audience stands too, which I think most groups would be too scared to consider. (I also wonder if it's an intimidation tactic lol. Did you see ONF's E-Tion and Wyatt?? Jaw: dropped) When Jacob and Eric are doing the sword fight, the lights flipping was really interesting because it reminded me of how you can see light reflected off metal when it clashes but also it gave me a vague illusion of fighting while darting between shadows, half blind, chasing each other??
YES PLEASE LIFT NEW UP HES IS BEST BOI. Continued appreciation of backup dancers. I know they did this so everyone could move into the next position which is why I think it's fine. But overall, even though I appreciate the dancers and think they're amazing, I always feel a little questionable when it's just the backup dancers doing something on stage. Personal nitpick though.
THE BOX. THE FUCKING BOX. DUDE MINATURE SCALE IT AND HAVING THE BLACK AND WHITE KINGS INSIDE?? AND THEN!! ON STAGE!! THE BIG BOX!! TRAPPING JUYEON AND HYUNJAE!! BITCH PLEASE!! WHAT THE FUCK HOW DO YOU THINK OF THIS!! I loved that they included a ribbon to "force" the two together in a struggle, and just artistically from a dance perspective it's pretty bomb. It restricts the kind of movements you can make so they did a beautiful job of going back and forth in a literal confined space, tied together. The perspective of the walls of the box also gave a really neat illusion of endless hallways on all sides, like they're in an infinite space. I loved it. So much.
Small thing but the confetti being the same dark color as the walls. Good shit.
Facial expressions ON POINT while walking through the salute. The aggression, the glower. Jacob especially looked really cool and intimidating and sexy?
Yeets chess piece. Jokes aside, that's a good impactful ending, and the continued messages on screen behind them just. Ugh. Literally so good. So. Good. Continued emphasis on the moon, on being kings. Having the army in front in formation like a crown. TBZ standing so tall.
I don't even think I really have any complaints about this performance. It's just that good. Everything was amazing.
Score: 10/10

5, 15, 22!!
                                   [ Final Fantasy XIV Ask Meme ]
5. Favorite character(s)?
Though I’ve a few there is one character who when shows up always tends to bring a smile to my face. Count Edmont, AKA dad.
Tumblr media
15. Favorite mount?
This one is difficult because my choice is always changing. Were I to give an answer tomorrow the mount would be completely different from today’s.
It’s the bomb palanquin, simply for it being my first exposure to the absurdity the mounts in this game tend to reach.
Tumblr media
22. You obtain one in-game item to use/wear IRL, what do you pick and why?
The answer came surprisingly quick for this one. A bottle of Fantasia simply because... shenanigans.

Theory: Steven’s Passenger
Okay, so not only does it seem like we're going to see more of Steven's adventures, but that he's about to spend the next set of them with a plot-worthy new friend!
More below the line.
So, not only did the SU:F climax not feel very climactic to me, but the part about Steven striking out on his own just kinda felt weird to me.  I mean, I guess in hindsight I can see how it was being led up to, but at the time it still felt a lot like it came out of nowhere. ^_^;  That said, that feeling seemed to be be based on some other, underlying feeling that 'no logical/sane person would do that'...
Tumblr media
...and I think I've found out why.
One of the major plot points of SU:F was how Steven was struggling with PTSD, with the symptoms brought on partially by the fact that he was losing a lot of his supportive relationships, and that he either didn't reach out to, or couldn't be helped by the friends that stayed around.  Maybe he's gotten past a major crisis, but I can pretty much guarantee that his problems haven't simply vanished like that.
What Steven would really need is to get help from his friends, family, and/or a therapist or something, at least until he can handle his trauma better.  Until then, he's basically a time bomb, ready to go off as soon as something bothers him just a little too much.  It might be one thing if he had asked his friends to come with him, but NOPE!
Tumblr media
He pulled a Cookie Cat and decided to strike out entirely on his own. =/
I can't emphasize this enough: Steven NEEDS someone to be there!!  And I can't imagine Steven just meeting random people being enough... or all that interesting, really. ^_^;  He needs a road trip buddy.  And I don't think a convoy would work... not on its own, anyway.  I think he needs someone IN the car, to talk to whenever, about whatever.  Someone he could trust to talk about things - including Gem stuff and whatnot - without them freaking out or whatever.
And given everything that's been going on, I think I know who that buddy needs to be.
There's only ONE person...
(Yanno... since all the others have tried and failed and also been left behind. ^_^; )
Okay, first off, I've been paying attention to the moon for quite awhile now.  The SU series is one of the rare cases where - among other things - the moon appears in the day.
Tumblr media
And on top of that, when the moon shows up appears to be far from random to me: I believe that a Gem is trapped in the observation orb in the Diamond base.
Tumblr media
Like how Lapis could see through the mirror, I believe that this Gem can see things through the orb, and I think that the moon showing up is just one of several signs that this Gem is watching.
That said, the moon tends to show up a lot - and is often brighter - for certain types of events, including, but not limited to:
Steven and Amethyst's wrestling matches
Beach-a-Palooza (seems to be big on entertainment)
Steven and Connie being together
Rose and Greg being together
Garnet's wedding (appears to be a 'shipper)
Pink Pearl (I don't like the name "Volleyball" XD;;; ) coming to Earth
The Rose Buds coming to Earth
The whole fiasco after Steven found Pearl's phone (i.e. the whole "Rose was Pink Diamond" thing)
On top of that, when this Gem is paying extra close attention, it can affect the color of the moon, or even the sky without the moon...
Tumblr media
Namely, it turns pink.
Now, I'll also note that I figured that White must've had mind-affecting powers long before her name was dropped: namely, after the Wanted arc (before Dewey Wins came out).  I came to that idea because corrupted Gems - namely Centi - had their memories affected by the Diamond Song, and neither Blue nor Yellow showed any signs of using or probably even having such powers, with their powers already shown as being over emotion and physical forms, respectively.
I also noticed that it was shown that some things actually CAN reach through Rose's shield.
Tumblr media
So if a search robonoid's beam can get through Rose's shield, then you can certainly bet that White Diamond's powers could, and if White Diamond's powers could get through the shield, then there's no guarantee that the Gems were fully protected by it, if at all.
And if White Diamond's mind-control powers can affect Gems' memories, then there's no guarantee that that anything the CGs remember is completely untainted, or even really based in reality...
Tumblr media
...or that Rose Quartz was really Pink Diamond.
Even Steven's powers and such don't seem like a full guarantee.  Did you notice the color of his Diamond-pupils?
Tumblr media
White.  Not black, like Yellow's, Blue's or Pink's - WHITE.
Like... well, White's.
Tumblr media
I believe this is a sign that White not only tried to tamper with the memories in Steven's Gem, but also the powers and such, trying to give powers that shouldn't even be there, and/or amplify what little bit of Pink might actually have been in Rose.
Which... honestly, could explain a lot about why Steven's so unstable. ^_^;
But... yeah.  Basically, I believe that White tried to make Rose/Steven into a replacement for the real Pink... who I believe to be the Gem trapped in the Earth's observation orb.
Release of a Prisoner
While people were trying to figure out "who shattered Pink Diamond?" I came to believe that Pink wasn't shattered at all, but was imprisoned on the moon... by White.  (WARNING: REALLY OLD AND OUTDATED POST!)  The narrative appeared to be that she and Rose were secretly working together to try and save at least one planet, with Rose rebelling openly, and Pink secretly feeding Rose info, pretending to be a tyrant.
It seemed to me like Pink was probably the only one who couldn't be controlled by White, having grown more powerful than her, as indicated by their murals.
Tumblr media
In general, I figured that it would be a bad idea for Pink to have rebelled openly, or to have tried to convince the other Diamonds to stop taking planets (still do).  I also figured that she also plain didn't want to fight directly against her family... and now, I'm also thinking it's possible that she might've been too afraid to do it. ^_^;
Since not long after A Single Pale Rose came out, I've also believed that Pink trying to fight a rebellion AS ROSE and not get noticed would be logistically impossible, what with all the going back-and-forth she'd probably have to do for Homeworld not to worry about her... and all the chances of getting caught by either side. XD;
But I've also long believed that she actually was caught: somehow, White managed to figure it out... and naturally was't happy.  Pink was probably actually standing on the upper ledge behind her palanquin when she got dissipated, trying to reveal what she'd actually been doing before White managed to stop her.
Tumblr media
(Hence the palanquin leaning forward, knocked over by the shockwave of Pink being poofed.)
White, however, still cared enough that she couldn't break Pink, and stuck her in a convenient prison, instead.  Meanwhile, she hatched a plan to try and replace Pink, so that the Diamonds to stay together with a controllable, "Pink" free to keep expanding their Empire.
Since then, the real Pink has been stuck, able to watch what's going on, but unable to participate in it.
Tumblr media
(Pic originally posted here.)
Heck, I wonder if her powers are the only reason the corrupted Gems were corrupted, instead of destroyed. =o
I've basically wanted her to be released ever since I figured she'd be stuck in there.  To me, she was a hero who tried to do whatever she could to try and preserve a planet and give Gems some freedom - or in case she failed, to at least preserve a bit of the planet's people (thus, the zoo).  I've seen ways she impacted the lives of the CGs... including Amethyst's before she had even emerged.  I've wanted it to become known what kind of an impact she'd had, and for her to be able to have a positive impact again.
Well, I think that time is finally coming.
I've mentioned before that Pink would be a REALLY good person to help Steven with his powers and his PTSD (and other issues).  I still think that this is true, and that now would be the BEST time for that to happen.
That said, I also think it would be good for some help to be had in the other direction.
Pink's Problems
Aside from the obvious complications of revealing that Pink didn't become Rose after all - which, actually, could be delayed while on the road, which might actually be a good thing (more later ^_^; ) - I think that Pink is going to have some struggles of her own.  I'd noticed before that, while the moon tends to show up a lot to support Steven and such, it actually tends to DISAPPEAR if a conflict begins to escalate.
At the time, I just labelled it as "anxiety or something," but now I'm pretty sure what that "something" probably is:
PTSD.
I mean, think about it: she'd been involved in a GINORMOUS conflict for 1,000 years, controlling both sides and having to keep it secret.  Maybe Pink even shattered a few Gems on purpose, because if she DIDN'T it would risk blowing her cover, which could blow her entire operation and leave the creatures of Earth with zero chance for a future... but of course, it would've pained her GREATLY.
In general, I always figured that the war would've been INCREDIBLY stressful for her... but that she always had Pink Pearl to help her through it.
Tumblr media
(Pic from this old fic.)
And then she got stuck in the orb. =(
In the orb, Pink is well and truly alone; no one even realizes that she could be up there.  She can watch events, but if they get stressful for her, there isn't an way for her to get any comfort or help.  And she has to experience it after the war had be left with a painful sort of resolution.
If Lapis was affected badly... ho boy. O_O;;;
A Time for Healing
But yeah, if Steven and Pink both have the same kind of issues, then maybe it would help them both understand how to help the other.  It could also help them feel a bit of solidarity; give them something to bond over.
I think it could also solve this:
Tumblr media
Well... Pink isn't exactly Steven, but all things considered, she might be close enough - and maybe also different enough -  for him to have what he needs. XDD  At the very least, I suspect that they're both helpers, and that having someone with the same issue could give them a way to help themselves by healing the same thing in somebody else.
And hey, now the "other Steven" (i.e. Pink) could also have Steven, too. ;3
I think this could also help Steven with his "finding out who his is" stuff.  In a way, Pink could be like a part of Steven that he never even knew he had.  Maybe, by learning who she really is, he could learn about himself as he sees it reflected back at him - or at least, I think he could find aspects of her that he’d be proud to aspire to emulate, and she could FINALLY stop being someone for him to be plain embarrassed to be related/compared to. XD;
As for the two meeting...  I figure White's gotta be involved - maybe finally try to confess - but other than that, it's pretty up in the air. XD;  White does seem like she might be realizing that she messed up BIG TIME, given some of her recent behavior.
Tumblr media
I've honestly expected Pink to lash out if White is involved - if so, I suspect that she wouldn't be able to finish it. XD;
As for accepting Pink... well, if there's anything left of Rose in him, I've imagined that Steven might break out crying in relief of seeing her alive, even if he doesn't recognize it, or understand why.  ...Or, even if not, he might be a bit relieved - if confused - about not having inherited Pink's Gemstone.  At the end of it, though, I think that he'll see her as someone new - someone he doesn't know - and who needs help, who may or may not share some of the same troubles as him.
...And if, by any chance, Pink knows how to calm him from a panic attack, that'll certainly be a nice bonus. XD;
But yeah, even if striking out on his own is technically a HORRIBLE idea on its own, I think that it'll turn out to have been the best choice.  Like I mentioned, the two could travel, get to know each-other, and sort a lot of things out - just the two of them, keeping it simple before they add other things to their plate... things like the mess that'll happen as soon as the Gems find out. XD;
After watching the Earth for so long, I do think that Pink will likely want to experience it, so the timing of the road trip is good for her - it might even be one of the (many) meta-reasons why Steven is leaving (though I'm not ruling out that he's not entirely sane right now XD; ).  I wouldn't be surprised if Steven even offers to let her ride with him - maybe even allow her to drive, sometimes. =3
And really after so much stress, I think that the two walking bombs softies really do need some time to party, relax, and generally have fun.
Tumblr media
...As long as they don’t both panic at the same time, they should be okay. =D;;;
(Hoping for a running joke where they get mistaken for a couple. X3)
For the longest time (~3 years?), I have been seeing ways that finding Pink could happen within the next few eps (relative to whenever I was writing).  Now, I believe we have signs that finding Pink NEEDS to happen... and soon!
(I mean, I always kind of figured that finding Pink needed to happen "and soon," but now it seems even more urgent, and for a LOT more pressing reasons. ^_^;
And besides... everything really does seem to be pointing to it now - at least, as far as I can tell. XD;)
Ultimately, I'm thinking that the trip will be memorable for Steven less because of the places he experiences, and more because of the one that he's likely to experience the trip with... and what he experiences because of her. =)

The MogMog Collection - Help Our Moogle Friends
Information about the event is located
>> HERE << This Event Begins May 30th and runs until the release of Patch 5.0!
So there are MANY goodies to be had with this event and turning in the Irregular Tomes is going to be how you can collect some juicy rewards. I myself would LOVE to get a lot of these but there is one problem... while I don’t mind running a dungeon with 4 people that will only yield one of these amazing tomes... the best way to go about it? Well... from the list of things you can do you get the following
1 Irregular Tomestone - Dungeons (4 Man/Light Party) The Tam-Tara Deepcroft Copperbell Mines The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak The Sunken Temple of Qarn The Stone Vigil
2 Irregular Tomestones - Raids (24 Man/3 Full Groups) The Labyrinth of Ancients Syrcus Tower The World of Darkness
3 Irregular Tomestones - Trials (8 Man/Full Party) Castrum Meridianum The Praetorium
As you can see there is... one amusing thing about this. To get 3 Tomes we need to run the LOVELY trials/full groups where we CANNOT skip the cutscenes and the MUST be run at level! So no trying to be cheeky and solo anything. However... let me share some of the glorious rewards you can get should we collect enough tomes for these crazy moogles.
100 Tomes will earn you the Namazu Earring (Which can be seen on Rowena in-game now)
50 Tomes will get you the following: Pegasus Whistle, White Lanner, Rose Lanner and the Answer Orchestration
30 Tomes will net you these lovely rewards: Drake Horn, Laurel Goobbue Horn, Elbst Horn, Bomb Palanquin Horn, Direwolf Whistle, Aithon Whistle, Boreas Whistle. For anyone not interested in the slog of the ARR Beast Tribes or punching Primals in the face for horses (IE: Ifrit and Shiva)
15 Tomes will get you some precious pets: Magic Bucket, Baby Brachiosaur and the Pegasus Colt
7 Tomes will get you more cuties to follow you on your adventures: Wind-Up Calofisteri, Toy Alexander and Construct 8. It will also get you some snazzy cards: Brute Justice Card, Calofisteri Card, Alexander Prime Card and the Yiazmat Card.
Basically what I am wanting to do, to help the community out is to offer up myself to do the 8-Man painfully time consuming dungeons so that we can get the most bang for our buck. I really want the Pegasus Mount, Answers Music, as well as the Minions and cards I do not have. But I don’t think my brain can tolerate going through THAT many dungeons just to get everything.
I have some friends that are more than willing to help as well with the wonderful @theaetherhealerffxiv @talechaser-ffxiv and @skyysinger already offering to help out! And for anyone who wants to get through this quickly well I’m here to help  out whenever I can!
I will do the 4-man Dungeons, I will do the 8-Mans and I will EVEN try to do the raids if we get enough people! For me, what matters if helping everyone get the items they want in a quick manner that is the most profitable as far as tomes go! So if you are interested, feel free to Reblog this and let me know!  Spread the word! Let’s help each other out and gives these moogles what they want!
@mooglemeet
Special Thanks to @home-halone who inspired me to make this post with their amazing Ivalice groups!
