Despite Ratchet's knack for being a grouch, he usually doesn't mind letting Botmom snuggle up against his chassis at night. I rewatched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and it will never not be funny to me how Wheelie instantly responded to Mikaela talking to him in a soft, sweet voice.

In the movie Bumblebee, Bee also seemed to respond very well to Charlie talking to him in a very gentle tone.

WHICH HAS GIVEN ME THE HEADCANON that Cybertronians actually LOVE when humans talk to them like this. Maybe something about it just sounds nice to their audio receptors and so it drives them to respond to it in a more affectionate way.
