the most recent ask from 🐯 anon got me thinking thoughts... what about all of those at the same time? :P
leon coming home from work while you're sitting lazily on the couch, so he comes and sits between your thighs. at first hes watching your show with you, however when you rest your head on his shoulder you realize that hes so squirmy ..? in the end he tells you that was just soo pent up all day at work today but was too embarrassed to tell you!! how cute!!
so, like any good partner would do, of course you tease him saying how hes so naughty thinking of you all day while trying to do his job? wooow what a whore <3. but of course he's your whore, so he ends up with his pants + boxers off shirt unbuttoned hands ALL over his chest. soon enough you're jerking him off without even moving from your original seat (bc leon :( i'm just so tired from waiting for you all night D: OHHHH LAWWWDDD SEDATE ME)
does this even make sense? idk its my late night ramblings again... - 🐞
(loved the brittany broski reference from the last ask btw LOL she's literally the spokeswoman of being insane over fictional men)
OH GOOD GOD YOU ALWAYS KILL ME!!!
wahhh sitting on the couch w him resting against your chest after a long day :( hes so needy but doesn’t know how to say it. fidgets in your arms, nuzzles his cheek against yours until you finally ask why he’s moving so much. he’s still shy to admit it but then he feels your hands slide beneath his shirt and up his waist and soon you’re playing with his nipples :( you definitely won’t get a straight answer out of him now, the only noise he can make is a sharp inhale through gritted teeth while you pinch and thumb them. he’s nearly forgotten all about his day or what even happened before being in your lap like this—that is, until your hands fall away from his chest. suddenly he can talk again, but only to beg; i couldn’t—i couldn’t stop thinking about you today. please, just wanna feel good. want you to make me feel good, please please please.
soon you’re lifting his shirt overhead and slipping off his pants and now he’s fucking naked. the feeling of your clothes on his back only serves as a reminder of just how embarrassing this is and leon’s secretly grateful he’s not facing you otherwise you’d see just how hot his face feels. it only grows worse when you’re whispering in his ear, asking him to show you what he was fantasizing about all day. that’s when he’ll guide your hand down to his cock, lets you feel how it’s leaking and throbbing and aches so damn much. ‘s been like this all day he whines. thought about you sitting on my face and it wouldn’t go away. he’s so impatient too, humping himself in your palm, hand holding yours as he guides you to jerk him off :( and who would you be to not start pumping him slowly, licking his neck, and telling him what a pretty slut he is for being horny all day :( he can’t help but whimper at that but he can’t even complain because this exactly what he wanted! all he can do is clutch your wrist sooo tight as you jerk him off. he won’t stop squirming and cums so fucking much when you wrap an hand around his neck and squeeze <33 he just wants to be your boytoy </3

Dirty at Download
Requested by @youlightmeupfinn. More specifically Tipsy!Taylor
Summary: After Black Veil Brides’ set at Download 2022, Andy decides he’s got some pent up energy that he needs to get out. Luckily, the kids’ godfather is now free since the set is over.
Photos taken from Andy’s insta
TW: Smut, slight degradation, cursing, bondage (Very slight, but I still wanna throw that warning out there)
A/N: I haven’t written smut in so fucking long. So some constructive criticism is definitely welcome 😊
Tumblr media
Andy had just finished Black Veil’s set at Download, and he had energy he needed to get out.
His jeans had tightened halfway through his set when he ran off stage for a second to get some water and give his wife and kids kisses.
There was one bit of Amber left from her hoe days. And that was the ability to make men want her with only a kiss.
“Hey Jake, CC, you mind keeping an eye on the kids for a bit?” Andy asked and CC chuckled and Jake shook his head. They both knew damn well why they needed to babysit.
“Yeap. Bring me my godchildren,” Jake laughed and Andy walked to where he saw his beautiful wife and 2 of his 3 kids standing side stage throughout the set.
They had left Rose with Tommy and Brittany while the couple was in England for Download. Especially with her only being a few months old, it would be best if she was left home for this year’s and next year’s festivals.
When he finally got to his wife, she was smiling as their kids were air playing music as the stagehands were getting ready for the next act and rock music played over the speakers.
“Hey guys, Uncle Jake and Uncle CC want to play with you guys,” Andy told them and then he noticed his drummer coming up to them.
“I’ve been sent to collect some rugrats,” he told them and scooped Tommy in his arms and held his hand out for Addy to take. With the amount of people here, Andy wouldn’t be able to have alone time with his missus if either of their kids got lost.
“UNCLE CC!” Addy yelled and instead of taking his hand, she attached herself to his long legs.
“So we’re gonna take Uncle CC for a ride instead?” He laughed, earning a nod from Addison. Tommy rested his head on the drummer’s chest, too content and a little tired to ride uncle CC’s legs like his big sister.
“Well I’m pretty sure the guys didn’t want to immediately babysit after your guys’ amazing set. Am I sensing you had something to do with this?” Amber asked, a smirk on her lips and batting her long eyelashes once the kids were out of earshot.
“Yeah, I want you now,” he spoke lowly in her ear before placing either hand on her sides, blocking her in with his arms and body. His teeth taking her earlobe between them.
A gasp left Amber’s lips before she bit down on her bottom lip to keep from moaning in public.
“C’mon kitten,” he stood eye to eye with her and Amber’s smirk deepened.
“Lead the way rockstar,” she told him, taking his large hand in hers. The same hands that would delicately hold their children could make her scream in pleasure.
Andy led them to his dressing room. Once Amber made it through the door, he turned around, pressing her body against the door, and roughly grasping her chin in his hands and bringing his lips down to her and bringing her into a kiss that screamed that he meant business.
He took her bottom lip between his teeth and sucked. Amber pressed her body on the door, using the door to support her weight as she brought her legs up to wrap around her husband’s waist.
“Learn that in dance class?” He asked her when he broke the kiss. His oceanic eyes were barely discernible from his pupil as it consumed the blue with lust.
Amber smirked.
“Maybe,” she told him and he walked backwards towards one of the couches in the dressing room, flipping them so Amber’s back laid on the couch, and bringing his lips down to her neck that she bared as soon as she saw his eyes lock on it. Andy’s skillful lips pressed into his wife’s sweet spot and a moan left her mouth and she tightened her grip on his waist.
“Did I say you could tighten your legs? Nah fuck that, open your gorgeous legs for me kitten,” he demanded and Amber closed her eyes in delight as she felt heat travel down her body and looking at her core.
“Yes daddy,” she purred and spread her legs as wide as she could with skinny jeans on. Before she could completely open them, Andy’s hands stopped her.
“Let’s see what you have on for me,” Andy unbuttoned the jeans to reveal a lacy black and red thong. Andy’s cock tightened even more, if that was even possible, behind his skinny jeans.
“You’re wearing daddy’s favorite panties and then kissed me like the slut you are for me,” he growled in her ear before his hands reached down and cupped her sex in his large palm.
“And you’re all nice and wet for daddy and I haven’t even started to touch you,”
“I’ve wanted you to fuck me all day daddy,” Amber purred, her back arching off the couch at her husband’s touch.
Andy lifted off of Amber to take his skinny jeans off, the imprint of his cock defined as the jeans fell to the floor and Amber’s mouth salivated at the thought of her husband wrecking her.
“Do your worst Biersack,” she told him, reaching for her own shirt, but he grasped her wrists in his large hands and lifted them above her head.
“These hands do not move from this spot. Do you understand me?” He asked, his breath fanning over her face. The mix of the honey lozenge and his cologne made Amber heady.
“Yes,”
“Yes what?” He asked, needing to hear the words from her lips.
“Yes daddy,” she bit her lip.
“What have I told you about biting those slutty lips of yours?”
“That you want to hear me moan your name,” Amber answered, bending her knee.
“Please daddy, touch me,” she begged and then her hands moved defiantly to try and remove her shirt.
“Well it seems like my kitten doesn’t want to listen today. So I guess I’m gonna have to make you listen,” he grasped the end of her burgundy tank top and lifted it over her head. Andy then grabbed the belt from her jeans and leaned over his wife, bringing her wrists together again and tying them to the arm of the couch.
“There you go, kitten. Now those hands won’t be where they’re not supposed to be,” he told her and began to work her weeping core with one hand and take off her matching bra with the other.
Without her hands to tangle in Andy’s hair, her back arched and legs reached back up to tighten around his waist.
“Keep disobeying me kitten and I’ll make sure you don’t cum at all,” he threatened and Amber’s eyes flew open and nodded.
“Yes daddy,” she let out as Andy took his hand from her core, making a whine come from Amber’s throat at the loss of contact. Andy gave her a wicked grin and kneeled in front of her, nipping at her thighs before attaching his lips to her clit, making her cry out.
“Daddy!” Andy grinned wide, not letting up on his wife at all, meeting her eyes as his tongue took over where his fingers left off. His hands reached up and rolled her exposed nipples between his forefingers and thumbs.
“Please don’t stop,” Amber cried out. She was starting to see stars before Andy came off of her with an audible pop and brought his lips to hers in a kiss. The taste of her on Andy’s lips made Amber breathless, and she tested the restraints on her wrists.
“Ah Ah Ah Kitten,” Andy chuckled.
“If I let you go, you’ve gotta promise to listen to daddy and not misbehave. Can you do that kitten?” He asked, pressing his lips to her sweet spot.
“Yes Daddy,” she breathlessly let out and Andy released the belt.
“Lay down daddy. Your kitten has a present for you,” Amber purred in his ear, and Andy smirked.
“Is it those pretty red slutty lips around my cock?” He asked, and she nodded.
“Tell me,” he demanded.
“It’s my slutty red lips around your nice hard cock,” she purred in his ear as they switched places.
Amber’s hands reached for Andy’s boxers, her lips pressing desperate kisses to his thighs as her fingers worked the fabric down his long legs. Finally free from the boxers, his erection is released and is dripping with precum, making Amber salivate even more.
“Do you want my slutty lips all over your rock hard cock daddy?” Amber asked, batting her eyelashes.
“Yes baby, wrap those slutty lips around my cock,” he told her, leaning back on his forearms.
Amber looked up at him, keeping eye contact while she kissed around his upper thighs, before wrapping her lips around him.
A low growl left Andy’s lips as his wife began to suck him dry. As if she was a woman stuck in a desert and his cock was the only thing that would provide her water.
He moved his weight from his forearms to his palms as he wrapped one of his hands through his wife’s deep brown hair and made a makeshift ponytail, making the woman at his feet moan out, the vibration making Andy’s head spin.
“Fuck kitten, you feel so good around my cock,” he ground out as she continued to suck, her hazel eyes never leaving his face as his head leaned back in pleasure.
“Switch with me kitten. I need your pussy around my cock, now,” he growled and Amber obeyed, laying on the couch. Andy grasped her hips in his hands and placed her where he wanted. Without warning, he aligned himself with her wet core and entered her, a cry leaving Amber’s lips and a hiss to leave Andy’s.
“Fuck kitten. Even after giving birth to three of our kids, this pussy is tight for daddy,”
“All for you daddy,” she moaned as he started to pick up the pace, her tits bouncing as Andy pounded into her. The only sounds in the room being the slapping of flesh and the sounds of pleasure coming from Andy and Amber’s lips.
“A-Andy, I’m gonna c-cum,” Amber slipped up, her toes starting to curl.
“What’s my name,” Andy asked her, noticing the slip and slowing down.
“Daddy,” she answered and Andy slowed down even more.
“I couldn’t hear you. I want you to scream my name,”
“DADDY!” Amber yelled and that spurred Andy on, resuming the pace that had his wife about to fall over the edge and about to make him bust.
“I’M GONNA CUM!” Amber yelled, and Andy smirked.
“Cum for me kitten,” Andy brought her earlobe between his teeth as he felt his wife fall apart, gripping his cock in a vice before he felt his own release, filling Amber to the brim. Andy rode out their highs before laying next to his wife and grabbing the soft blanket that was hanging over the couch and wrapping them both up in it.
Once Amber was able to catch her breath, she rolled over to lay her head on Andy’s chest.
“I love you Kitten,” he told her before kissing her forehead. She looked up to meet his eyes.
“I love you too liontári,” Amber listened as Andy’s heartbeat went back to normal, and Andy tightened his grip on Amber. Meanwhile, she was tracing the tattoos on his chest, her tattoo of the Greek translation of Lion in his own handwriting meeting her eyes.
“Remember when we got these?” Amber asked, grasping her husband’s hand that had the word Kitten written in her handwriting on his hand between his thumb and forefinger.
“Yeah, I think this was one of the first matching ones we got,” he told her, rubbing her back and checking his phone, being met with a message in a group chat with Jake and CC.
‘We had to put ear pro on the kids, you loud fuckers’ CC texted them.
‘At least we’re at a rock festival and not their house. We were able to pass off the ear pro to the band on the main stage,’ Jake responded.
“I didn’t think we were that loud,” A blush danced over Amber’s tanned cheeks.
“We? That was all you kitten,” he told her with a smile before pressing his lips to hers in a sweet kiss.

Michael’s speech throwing Brittany under the bus was definitely strategic, but you can’t convince me 60-something days of pent-up annoyance didn’t sneak it’s way in there 😂

He arched a brow down at her. Deciding to test it a bit, Giyuu squeezed her thigh firmly. "Are you sure?" He asked, eyes darkening with pent up lust. Giyuu has been dreaming of this moment since the day he laid eyes on Brittany.
Slowly, he moved his hand up a bit higher on her leg, judging her reactions. A smile spread over his lips when he heard her soft sigh. "Open them for me then, Brittany." His tone was soft, but full of command. "If this is what you really want, then you better be ready." Giyuu grabbed her chin and turned her head to meet his lips. "Cause once I start. I won't be able to stop."
Sparks flew when our lips met, my body already becoming hot. It was needy and full of want. In this moment, I didn’t want anyone else but Giyū. I wanted all of him. I wanted him to continue touching me, exploring every inch of me. I wanted to be under his full control.
I wanted him to have me.
“Then don’t.” I whispered onto his lips, unleashing the beast.

hello! hippohead here. this is a random ask out of the blue but i was wondering if you'd pick 3 random smaller klaine moments that you love and tell us about them and why you love them 🥺 just feel like being soft about our fav boys
hi there!! i couldn’t pick just three, so i’m going to give you five, if that’s okay...also somehow they all ended up being from season 6 bc that season was a gold mine for cute pining!klaine scenes.
1. kurt talking about blaine to brittany in 6x03.
the whole scene is gold, but i especially love when he says that watching brittany and santana sing reminded him of his own relationship with blaine. the way his mouth automatically curves into a huge smile (bottom left gif) when he says blaine’s name is so precious 🥰
3. their looks during ‘all out of love’ in 6x05.
6x05 had a lot of incredible blink-and-you-miss-it klaine moments, but my absolute favorite would be their sweet smiles toward each other at the end of the ND’s competition - especially blaine’s. i personally believe that this is the moment when blaine realized that he forgave kurt.
even after all those months of pain, just spending 24 hours with the man he loves was enough for all of that pent-up resentment to just fade away like it never existed at all, until all that was left was the endless amount of love that blaine felt for kurt.
just look at blaine’s face melting into that smile!!! he’s so smitten and my poor dead heart can’t handle this 🥺
3. their hug during 6x06.
i think that their brief hug that we got when blaine showed up to brittana’s engagement party is the most adorable thing ever for the following reasons:
kurt specifically makes sure that he’s the one to open the door because he wants to be the one to greet blaine 🥺
blaine not-so-subtly checks kurt out before he goes in for the hug.
that hug is the most comfortable and relaxed that they’d been with each other all season, and to me it proves that they’ve properly re-established their close friendship.
their sweet smitten smiles toward each other 💞
the way they linger for a moment longer than necessary after the hug is over, and the way kurt leaves his hand on blaine’s shoulder for a second bc he just has to touch him.
kurt looking at the hallway to check that karofsky didn’t come with blaine, and his cute attempt at a poker face after realizing that blaine came to the party alone 👀
(listen, they unfortunately weren’t featured very much in this episode, but you bet that i’ll milk the hell out of their 8 seconds of screentime!!)
4. kurt turning the wheel to blaine’s name in 6x07
something i don’t think we as a fandom talk about enough is how kurt actually moves the wheel in 6x07 so that he can have blaine as his duet partner, and it’s such a shame because that moment is so damn precious!!
i love that at this point kurt was actively interested in blaine, but blaine was still with karofsky, so kurt managed to find a subtle way to let blaine know that kurt was still interested in him while still being respectful of his relationship. and kurt’s face while spinning the wheel is so, so cute - that clever mf pretending like he didn’t manipulate the wheel to land on blaine’s name is adorable af 🥰
i like to headcanon that kurt specifically practiced spinning the wheel so that he knew how much force to use to get it to land near blaine’s name...so that he could have an excuse to spend more time with blaine 😌
5. kurt smiling at blaine when schue mentions kids in 6x11
there’s this quick moment in 6x11 when schue talks about how one day, everyone will be watching their own kids win awards, and then kurt turns at the mention of kids and gives blaine the biggest smile in the world 🥺
this is perhaps the softest moment of love that kurt has shown on the entire series bc it’s nothing but pure delight at the idea having a future with blaine. it’s so clear by the way that the smile takes up his entire face that he’s just ecstatic that he’s married to the love of his life and so, so thrilled that he gets to raise his own children with this man that he loves so much. he spent most of s6 believing that this future was out of reach, but now it’s back and it’s real, and kurt just can’t control how happy that makes him 😭
- - -
tysm for the ask, this was so much fun to do!!! i love thinking about them and although i really appreciate the complexity of their angstier stories, it’s the softer moments that i’m here for. it gives me so much comfort knowing that they’re out there living their life with their successful careers and their family, because knowing that they’re happy makes me happy 🥰

prompt number 11 for brittana!!
It's not that Santana hates her life. She actually loves a lot of it. Her parents, her Abuela, the rare but nice enough visits from her tía's. She loves school because she's popular and fawned over, and being on the Cheerios! is a good extracurricular that keeps her fit, looking good, and also busy so she doesn't have all of that pent-up rage at the end of the day.
It's just that she never quite feels as content with her life as she does whenever she's with Brittany. It's been that way since the first day she met her, but it's only been a recent discovery why she feels that way with her. Why just being wrapped up in her arms makes her feel so calm and peaceful.
She just can’t say it out loud. She isn’t sure if Brittany knows or not, but it feels an awful lot like she does when she kisses her, all tender and loving. Then again, that’s just Brittany all of the time.
“I should go home soon,” Santana murmurs, then buries her face in the space beneath Brittany’s chin and closes her eyes. Her skin is always warm, and soft., and she always has this faint scent of apples about her that she just can’t resist.
Brittany gives a disappointed little hum in the back of her throat. More of a whine, really. It goes straight to Santana’s heart. She squeezes her arm around her and tries to cheer her up. They always hate saying goodnight and having to leave each other.
“Stay over,” Brittany pleads with the voice of a siren. She could talk Santana into doing just about anything with one word. Or in this case, two.
It would’ve worked on any other night.
Santana sighs. “I can’t. I still have that stupid assignment to complete for Spanish, and I would do it in the morning, but my Abuela’s taking me out before school. I wouldn’t mind failing Spanish but even Coach Sylvester is threatening to kick me off the team at this point.”
“That sucks,” Brittany says with that pout in her voice.
It feels nice to have someone on her side. Her parents agree with Coach Sylvester and Principal Figgins about taking her of the team if her grades drop any lower, and she knows her Abuela would be so upset with her if she knew. It’s practically a threat for her parents to arrange those plans tomorrow with her in order to make sure Santana sticks to their agreement.
She takes a deep breath - the scent of apples and that new Christina Aguilera perfume overwhelms her in the best way - and she cuddles further into her, pressing a tiny kiss to the base of Brittany’s throat. It makes her giggle, which in turn makes Santana smile, and all thoughts that aren’t of this moment leave her mind entirely.
“It’s okay, though,” Brittany continues. Her fingers brush through Santana’s hair as instinctively as stroking Lord Tubbington. Not that Santana minds one bit; she would be purring if the humiliation of knowing she had done it wouldn’t kill her.
“Why’s that?” she asks mindlessly.
“Because we’ll have tons more chances for sleepovers,” Brittany says matter-of-factly. “Especially when we’ve got our own house together. It’ll be like one eternal sleepover that never ends!”
Santana chuckles. “Eternal kind of implies neverending, Britt, but I - I get what you’re saying. But, uh, when did we decide we were going to live together? Not that I don’t want to, obviously, because I do.”
“It’s just one of those things that’s going to happen eventually,” Brittany says. “You know, an inventuality.”
“Do you mean... never mind. Go on.”
“Like...” Brittany shifts slightly to rest her chin on top of Santana’s head. “There are things that are just going to happen, no matter what gets in the way or who tries to stop it. Like Lord Tubbington becoming president to take over the world, and the ice caps melting, and ice cream becoming a mandatory food to eat for breakfast. They’re all going to happen. Just like how we’re going to move in together, and you’ll be my wife one day, and we’ll probably have like twenty-three more cats because Lord Tubbington doesn’t have time to look after his kids, what with him being president and all.”
She’s still talking without noticing that Santana froze up a few words back. She pulls back and moves to sit up, looking down at Brittany in confusion.
“Hold up and back up,” she cuts in. “Did you say I’ll be your wife?”
Brittany smiles that genuinely innocent smile and nods, raising a shoulder in a shrug. “Yeah. I mean, it’s going to become legal in 2018, which means we’ll be out of high school by that point and probably old, so we’ll be able to get married. I’m still not totally sure who takes who’s name with two girls, though.”
Santana can’t even answer that last one right now - not that she’s entirely sure either, actually - because she’s too caught up the rest of it. Brittany’s absolute confidence that all of this is inevitable. That they’re going to...
“Britt, you know I love you, and I love our sleepovers, and of course I want to live with you when we leave this place-” Santana starts, trying to set her straight as her heart pounds with the lies she’s going to have to tell in order to do it.
“Great!” Brittany grins, not giving her a chance to finish as she then sits up to kiss her. When she talks, her lips are still brushing Santana’s and her voice is so soft she barely hears her say, “I love doing this with you. And we can just... do it forever, whenever we want to. Isn’t that great?”
She kisses her again, then pulls away to lay back down. Her arms stay open for Santana to follow, which she does without thinking. She still doesn’t say anything, even as she tucks her body perfectly against Brittany’s again and listens half-heartedly to her talk about aliens or space cats or something.
Is she right? Is that really something they could have together? Without anyone caring or whispering or judging? Is she even allowed to want that?

Ya know what these self-indulgent Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow posts need? Self-indulgent banner art, that’s what.
Tumblr media
Spoilers for issue #4!
Let’s start this off right with CREATOR CREDITS. Issue 4 of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is titled “Restraint, Endurance, and Passion.” Written by Tom King, Art by Bilquis Evely, Colors by Matheus Lopes, Letters by Clayton Cowles, and Edited by Brittany Holzherr. (w/ Assist. Editor: Bixie Mathieu & Senior Editor Mike Cotton)
THE STORY:
Right, so this? This issue? Best one yet.
Also the bleakest of the bunch thus far; even though we don’t always see the brutality of the space pirates that Kara and Ruthye are following, there’s...the suggestion of it. The aftermath. And how Kara responds to it.
Okay, getting a little ahead of myself. BASIC PLOT SUMMARY: Ruthye and Kara continue their pursuit of Krem, who has taken up with Barbond’s Brigands.
The Brigands basically just. Murder and terrorize people, for profit.
Each planet they visit brings new horrors, as well as people who need Supergirl’s help.
And help she does.
KARA-CTERIZATION:
I yell a lot about the art on this book, and have, in fact, openly admitted that I’m primarily here for Evely and Lopes.
Well, that wily son-of-a-gun King went and wrote some of the best ‘Super’ stuff I’ve ever read and dang it, dang it, now I gotta yell about the words too. XD
Specifically, I wanna yell (in a good way!) about some words that occur towards the very end of the book.
Kara and Ruthye have Seen Some Things; things like genocide and mass grave sites and horrible violence, and upon reaching a planet where peaceful monks were slaughtered, Kara’s had enough, and needs to leave because if she screams, she’ll destroy what little is left of the monks’ monastery.
Here’s the text in full, because my gosh. It’s so good:
“What I write next I write based on my observations in those long-ago days at the side of the greatest warrior in the history of this august reality we all call home. It is important to note that my assertions do not rely on anything Supergirl said. It was not a subject we ever discussed or even approached, but nonetheless I believe it to be as true as the turning of worlds. You see, what is not well understood about the daughter of Krypton is that her power was not one of action but one of restraint, endurance, and passion. She did not choose to fire a beam from her eyes, or have breath of ice, or run faster than a speeding bullet. Or any of her other well-documented miracles. No, she held back her heat vision to look you in the face. She warmed her breath to converse with you. She slowed herself to walk by your side. Ever moment of every day, she suppressed the forces churning inside of her. All of the energy of a dead world that strained against her many barriers, eternally demanded to be released. I believe this effort hurt her. I believe she lived her life in pain. But I reiterate again, for I think it important enough to repeat--These beliefs are based on my time at her side, watching her as she moved through strife and sorrow. If you were to have asked her, I have little doubt she would have claimed that such as assertion was absurd. She would say she felt fine and well and then she’d as you if you needed any help.”
A long chunk of words, I know (this comic is DENSE!) but like. This is it. This is one of the defining attributes of the Supers--all that raw power at their disposal and they choose to help people, to be kind, to suppress that power for the benefit and safety of others.
HNNNNNNNG.
Hope, Help, and Compassion for All.
Whole lotta folks claimed at the outset of this book that King did not understand Kara, that he was a bad fit. And that may be so, I suppose--there’s a whole other discussion about like. The violence and swearing and ‘does that belong in a Supergirl book?’ But the characterization? Getting that Kara and Clark are just good people?
King gets it. He got it in Superman: Up in the Sky and he gets it here, in Woman of Tomorrow.
Other things King gets! Kara is stubborn! Kara is passionate! Kara is going to fix things, even if the effort of doing so hurts her, physically, emotionally, and mentally!
(Fuuuuuuun fact for the crowd saying that Woman of Tomorrow is vastly superior to the CW show: TV Kara is ALSO all of those things! King isn’t pulling this stuff out of thin air. It’s almost like...gosh. I don’t know! Both the show and Tom King are pulling from the character’s comic history, or something!!!! HOW NOVEL.)
Like, seriously. There’s a lot of overlap. Stop pitting Karas against each other!
Tumblr media
Anyways!
I promised art, so here is art!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, right, forgot to mention, Kara literally THROWS HERSELF INTO THE SUN to express her grief and anger, so as to not cause that unnecessary destruction. She gives new meaning to the phrase: Set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.
More art yelling: GOTTDAMN, the way Evely draws Kara just colliding with the surface of the sun and then the way Kara’s hair like...becomes the flames...
I am FEELING FEELINGS. HOW DARE.
Also, props to King and Cowles; King for deciding to have that initial scream, Cowles for the way the letters burst forth from the point of impact on the sun, and then back to King who decided that it would just be...devastating silent screaming from Kara, for the remainder of the scene.
Back to the characterization, I just wanted to highlight something I mentioned...earlier on, I think? In these posts? But haven’t brought up recently, and that is how this book has not once brought up Zor-El, and I think Superman only got a quick mention in issue 2.
Honestly, I think that’s gotta be some kind of record.
It’s so refreshing. Not because I think there should never be mentions of Clark, or anything--I love that boy--but because so much of modern Supergirl comic drama is mined from the same like, angsting over her place compared to Clark, or her crazy sometimes-a-supervillain dad.
There is no Clark and Kara drama here, no manufactured friction, because it’s just. A cool Supergirl story!
Gonna keep going, but let’s do it with some more...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTT!!!!
Once again, Mat Lopes is all over the dang place with his palettes, it’s marvelous.
Each new planet gives Evely the opportunity to go hog wild on the worldbuilding and design, and similarly! Each new locale is an opportunity for Lopes to set the tone with colors. Like, here, towards the beginning of the book, we’ve got a planet bathed in this warm, pale yellow/orange light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Quick note: “Sure, yeah, I get it. We all have our duties. And it’s mine as a neighbor to do what I can to help you with yours. Please.” A+ Kara content. We love to see it. And then locating the remains of the alien’s daughter, so that they can go visit the grave site and have some emotional closure???? It’s just. So. Touching.)
Anyways, back to colors.
Tumblr media
Like!!!! LOOK AT THAT JUMP. From the soft, almost pastoral feel of the delicate oranges and yellows to HARD GREEN, PINK, AND PURPLE. (Difficult colors to pull off in print, I might add.)
(This is also an interesting scene, character-wise, because I think it helps re-contextualize some earlier stuff with Kara. Like, I’m mostly thinking that incident on the bus, where she was swearing at the passengers as the space dragon was about to destroy them. Here, we see Kara kind of...goad this alien woman into releasing her pent up emotions by yelling at her/getting her to fight, and you can clearly see at the end of it that Kara did not mean the things she said, because check this out:
Tumblr media
She goes and gives her a hug once the woman is able to finally cry.
It’s not ‘Kara is being mean, Kara is swearing at her’, it’s, ‘Kara has an unorthodox solution to a problem, and she’s gonna FIX that problem, NO MATTER WHAT.’
Circling back to the bus thing--again, that could be an instance of ‘unorthodox approach to a weird situation that Kara is going to handle because lives are at stake.’)
But also, DIG THAT KIRBY KRACKLE, BAY-BEEEEE!
And a little Strange Adventures easter egg! The Pykkts!
(I think those guys are unique to the Black Label series, rather than deep Adam Strange lore, but don’t quote me on that.)
Moving on to YET ANOTHER PALETTE, one I’ve dubbed, ‘Treasure Planet Purple/Grey’
Tumblr media
Love Ruthye’s snoozing against the door, waiting for Kara.
Also, just as striking as the colors of the environment, are the colors used on Kara.
If you compare this page with the previous one, Kara’s eyes are a paler shade of blue, and the red-rimmed look on her eyes here is not as intense as the red-rimmed look we saw back in issue one, when she was confronting Krem.
All of which to say! There’s a pale, haunted quality to both the linework and the colors. Like. We know Kara has Seen Some Things. But she’s shoving all that stuff down to protect Ruthye, to save Krypto, and to stop these monsters, and you get all of that WITH COLORS AND LINES ON A PAGE.
I love it, I love it so much.
OTHER BOOKS WISH THEY HAD THIS LEVEL OF CHARACTER ACTING, I TELL YA! THEY WISH THEY HAD THIS BEAUTIFUL ALCHEMY OF INKER, COLORIST, AND WRITER WORKING IN SUCH TIGHT TANDEM!
Ahem. XD
Alright, last bit of art, lest I just. Post the whole issue in here. (Which I’m honestly always tempted to do but Strong Feelings about Piracy hold me back.)

JUST HECKIN’ LOOK AT THAT BLUE, MAN. JUST LOOK AT IT. S’BEAUTIFUL.
And more stunning character acting from Evely. Like. Bottom middle panel. The expression, the tilt of her head and the shadows on her eyes...
*insert silent flailing here*
Oh, also, KRYPTO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVESSSS (for now).
I’m never right about these things, so I’m glad the one time I’ve correctly read a thing is when it involves Krypto not, ya know. Being dead. XD
Also absolutely love that Kara’s instinct is to send Ruthye home to protect her--once more leaning into that whole, ‘I’m going to protect you, even at great cost to myself’, though of course we know that she can’t send her home, not here, not now, just halfway through our journey.
ERRRRRRGH, so mad we’re not getting twelve issues of this! CURSE YOU, POOR SUPERGIRL TRADE SALES! CURSE YOOOOOOU!
That said, King’s pacing? Has been phenomenal. I feel like Strange Adventures and even Mr. Miracle kinda...I’m not gonna say dragged, that’s not quite right. But it is more build up, I guess. Takes a while to get to the payoff.
Here, I think King is pushing things steadily along as he doesn’t have the benefit of an additional four issues, so he has to get to the point, so to speak. Keeps everything moving.
SOME FINAL, MISC. STUFF:
I’ve sort of glossed over the darker stuff from this issue, and I just wanna note that like. This is a book that features a bad guy getting stoned (in the death sentence way, not the drug way) on panel. Like. I can’t recommend this to children.
I can’t even really recommend it to some other Supergirl fans, because I know that the King elements will be too off-putting.
It never feels like the book is going too far, though. At least in like an...exploitative way? If that makes sense?
The violence is handled with discretion, I guess is what I’m trying to convey. This could very easily tip over into like, gross shock factor territory, if not handled well, but I think the creative team pulls it off.
...Still wouldn’t hand this book to kids, though. XD
As mentioned, we’re halfway through this series! Can’t wait to see where it goes--every time I think I have this book figured out, it surprises me. So, like. Bring on the Dinosaur planet! With no sunlight! I wanna see how Lopes handles THAT. XD
(But Oh, OooooOOooh, we gotta wait until NOVEMBER.)
(Hhhnnnnng!)
(Then again, maybe that’s good; we’ve got the TV show in the meantime, and then once it ends we can pick right up with new Supergirl content just a few weeks later.)
(...Aw. Made myself a little sad, thinking about the TV show coming to an end.)
:C
So as not to end on that sad note, here once again is tiny, smushed Kara:
