Who else here listens to Signalwave/Broken Transmission type music? It’s honestly become my favorite thing to listen to for the past 6 months and is so comforting in ways I can’t really explain. Here’s some vibes I’ve been listening to in case anyone is interested:

Watch "Hallmark '87 - Quiet Storms [Signalwave, Broken Transmission, Vaporwave]" on YouTube
youtube
I am OBSESSED with this album.
It has it all!
-WEATHERSOFT!*
-Vintage EAS warnings!
-Cool lightning!
*Weathersoft is a term for a subgenre of signalwave/broken transmission, itself a subgenre of vaporwave. Weathersoft utilizes samples from The Weather Channel circa 1980s-early 2000s. Also included is international weather content from the same time period.
Samples can be from local forecasts, program indents, commercials, etc.
Honestly, weathersoft is a term I came up with. It's my personal "fetch"
I will forever try to make "weathersoft" happen!

Album Review: Transhumanism by Letzter Naucht
A nice quick 14 minute piece from the Interesting world of Broken Transmission. I love the dark vibes on this release. It’s got a mysterious technological advancement feel to it and worth checking out if that is up your ally. A few standouts include Übermensch, Cortical Devices, and Mankind’s Next Frontier. Übermensch being the shortest track on here, it still excites me whenever it comes on. To me, the strings that come on in the beginning brings in that strange vibe. Especially with the wood clanks that go on after each time the voice gets repeated just hits for some reason. Mankind’s New Frontier is another standout track from this release with it having the aspects of the repeating voice from Übermensch, but it’s not all the tracks offers. Mankind’s New Frontier also has the ambience that the majority of songs that came before it. I feel that it’s a great way to end it off. Then there’s always a sore thumb in releases, and this album’s sore thumb would Cortical Devices. Cortical Devices is the only one with a beat on the record and I’m not sure where it’s from. I feel it’s an ad for something, probably some kind of computer or car. It has that futuristic vibe that some car ads from the 80s and 90s had. Anyways, Transhumanism is fun atmospheric release from Letzter Naucht and worth checking out.
