Tbh I didn’t notice mihawk apologising to shanks in marine ford and god. Luffy really means EVERYTHING to shanks. He put all of his faith into that boy and the new era. At least that’s how I’m interpreting that scene. As even bigger confirmation of shanks complete believe in Luffy that he probably spoke to so many people about 😭 I want to know why, why he sees him like that? What did roger said to him, because I’m sure it’s connected
yeah, that’s absolutely how i interpret that scene, and the way shanks talks luffy up to everybody he can—that shanks met luffy, and something about that encounter hit him hard with the feeling that this kid is the one. and everything he’s done since then has been setting the stage for luffy to do his thing. (…whatever that is.)
now, i’ve gone on the record before as not wanting to speculate too much when the available information is so sparse, and that’s still true. oda’s not subtle when he withholds things from us, so we know we’re missing some pretty important information on this front.
i for one am pretty sure the ultimate answer to the question of what it is that shanks sees in luffy lies in a combination of things: the conversation roger had with shanks before he left, and luffy’s secret dream. (you know, the one that only shanks, ace, and sabo knew about, before he told the strawhats in chapter 1060?) but what exactly those things might be, i really have no idea.

verdict: extremely cool visuals, certain new actors had VERY big shoes to fill and did not fill them and i'm annoyed about it but tbh i can't fault the actors for lacking that kind of gravity... and yeah, that conclusion was amatonormative as hell and eye-roll worthy to boot. lots missing that should have been there -- not sure if cut for runtime or some other reason?? i felt like there were some less than perfect cuts in places too just in general so that definitely could be it i guess

in an older post (Top 5 Brocedes moments) you said that back in 2008 Nico had a favourite Brit and it (probably) wasn’t Lewis and Lewis had a favourite German (Adrian Sutil) but it (probably) wasn’t Nico. This got me wondering who was the favourite Brit and why that person? Sorry for bringing this up but the question won’t leave my head.
Hi! I’m going to be honest I actually cannot for the life of me remember who I was talking about in that post but if I had to guess I think the favorite Brit (in terms of people on the grid/associated with f1) might have been Jenson? Just based on what I could tell from the research I had done (doing activities off-the-grid together, general camaraderie)… I think I said that based more on how the media would sometimes play up the friendship between Nico and Lewis and how their level of friendship during that period in time (pre-Mercedes) actually (probably) wasn’t as best-friends-since-childhood as ppl make it out to seem…

sorry i am so incredibly pissed off i just saw someone say that german shepherds shouldn't exist bc theyre too dangerous. like. god youre all so fucking stupid. i literally live w three of them and theyve never maliciously hurt a human in their lives. and you know why? bc we don't train them to and they're treated w the respect any living being should be. like genuinely you sound like the idiots who think bully breeds are just born as pit fighters. and if your version of acab includes innocent animals being eradicated then i think you should be the one who is put down, actually.
