i think!! arisugu met in high school!! that makes most sense to me :> i transferred into his class and got attached to him …. pretty quickly probably. Sid didn't like to think of himself as controlling. Possessive, yes. But controlling? It felt like his entire life had been manipulated one way or another by other people, and to think of doing that to another person brought a wave of nausea over him that threatened to bring him to his knees.

But Geno always managed to drag the worst out of him.

Sid's grip was tight on Geno's bicep, tighter than it probably needed to be, considering Geno was limp in his grasp and stumbling along behind him. Geno hadn't said a word since Sid had shoved himself between Geno and Jarry, glaring pointedly at the goalie until he went away. The backyard had gotten painfully quiet, and that had been enough for Sid to collect himself and remove them both from the situation, into the privacy of their home.

He had no idea what possessed him to do it. He'd just seen Jarry drop an arm onto Geno's bicep, had seen the way he batted his eyelashes up at him, and--

Sid shuddered. With how atrocious the season had been, they hadn't been scening as much together as they should be. Sid had been neglecting his needs, and it all had led up to this.

They entered their bedroom, and almost immediately, Geno dropped to his knees. Sid wished he could have any concerns for Geno's bad knee, but his mind was focused on one thing.

"No one gets to touch you but me," he said, enjoying the way Geno's whole body quaked, his head bowing until his chin rested against his collarbone. "Do you understand?"

"Yes, captain." Geno's voice held all the earnestness of a good sub, but the image of Jarry touching him flashed through Sid's mind again, and he found himself gritting his teeth. It didn't matter that Jarry was a switch--what mattered is that he had dared place a hand on Sid's property. Sid had fought his entire career, had fought management for Geno, and this was how he was repaid? A couple of shitty seasons and Geno was allowing himself to be touched by unworthy hands?

"I don't think you do." Sid's eyes raked over Geno's body, evaluating him. This late in the season, they were all thin, bodies overworked. Geno was dressed in a pair of shorts and a tank top that, quite frankly, showed off too much skin. Sid wanted to slap his hand against the spot Jarry had touched, wanted to feel his skin sting with the force of it until Geno's bicep was bruised, the outline of Sid's palm stark against the pale flesh. "You let Tristan touch you."

Geno shifted a bit. Sid was aware that he was being a bad dom, or at the very least, an unfair one. There were times where the team couldn't touch G, not without reason, but that was always broadcasted to everyone when Geno showed up to the rink with a specific collar on. There was no blatant warning that G shouldn't be touched. But he pressed on, anyways, because he felt like he was coming apart at the seams.

"You let someone besides me touch you," Sid said, resting his hand on the nape of Geno's neck, right below the collar. "You let yourself be soiled and for what? To feel the touch of someone lesser?"

"Please," Geno said, sounding a little watery, and that stroked Sid's ego. Like a good sub, Geno was disappointed at himself for breaking the rules. He wasn't going to be a brat today--he was going to let Sid dole out whatever punishment he deserved. "Please, captain, am sorry."

"Are you?" Sid asked. "I don't think you are. I don't think you deserve my collar."

There was a minute tremble to Geno's large shoulders, and if Sid had been taking care of himself, he might feel pity, might crack. But was he just so frustrated by everything that he felt incensed by the display. "What? Do you think you do?" At the shake of Geno's head, he pressed the matter, "Tell me what you want, G."

"Want to be yours," Geno insisted, choking, "Didn't mean to allow him to touch me, was accident, am sorry. Want punishment, want to show apology, say so sorry--"

"What would you do for my forgiveness?"

And Geno said the word that were the foundation of their relationship, the one that sent them down this path of dom-and-sub, "Anything."

"Anything?" Sid reiterated, and at Geno's choked sobbing, asked, "What color, G?"

"Green," Geno said, managing to collect himself. "Green. Need this, captain. Need whatever you give me."

Maybe this wasn't only for Sid's benefit. Maybe Geno, too, needed to be taken down, needed to do something that would ease the ache in his bones for back-to-back abysmal seasons.

"You need to remember what I've given you, what I've done for you," Sid said, grabbing Geno by the hair and yanking his head back. Geno's cheeks were stained with tears, face ruddy already. "That there's a reason why only I get to touch you; why I'm the only one who deserves to."

"I'm sorry," Geno said, once in English, once in Russian. "Want you to forgive me."

"Then you're going to stay in here," Sid enjoyed the way Geno's eyes flickered, the way his mouth went slack, the subtle flinch, "You're going to stay in here until I decide to let you out. Until you remember that you are mine."

He knew it wasn't lost on Geno what he meant by in here. These types of punishment always had Geno secluded in a guest bedroom, able to move freely around it, but unable to leave. Last time this had happened, the punishment had nearly lasted a month. Sid didn't think it would last nearly as long this time--that offense had been way more severe than this, and Sid was pretty sure after a couple of sessions where he got to beat Geno's ass raw, he'd be back to his normal self--but he knew Geno was nervous that it would.

Instead of protesting, Geno just pressed his face against Sid's thigh, and let out a shuddery exhale. Sid allowed Geno a moment to inhale his scent and steady himself, before he hooked him by the d-ring on his collar and tugged him to his feet. "I'll check on you, darling," Sid murmured against his cheek, "and if you at any time need to stop, you tell me."

"Yes, captain," Geno muttered, eyes growing foggy. Sid smiled, and guided Geno down the hall.

"Be good for me," he said, "and it won't be long."

Geno dropped to his knees in the room, unable to look up at Sid. The sight soothed a bit of Sid's ruffled feathers, but not enough for him to reconsider his choices. He shut the door, and fished out a key, locking it before rejoining the party.

Most of the older guys--the ones who'd been around for a while--were unsurprised by Sid's reappearance and Geno's disappearance. Kris quirked an eyebrow at Sid before turning away, raising his cup to his lips. Jarry was gone, which Sid found interesting. Oh well, not his problem.

As Sid grabbed a drink out of a nearby cooler, a shadow fell across him. Karlsson, Sid thought, and sure enough, the Swede was there, an edge of concern at his eyes.

"Where's G?" Karlsson asked, prompting Sid to smile, wide and predatory.

"No one touches what is mine."

Small Incendiary Update:

T-minus 24 hours until Chapter 10 of Incendiary drops!

I've made some dialogue edits and added additional scenes in Chapter 10 that makes this chapter bump up to 9.4k words from it's previous 8.4k, oops sorry not sorry. :) But that definitely makes this chapter tie almost neck to neck with the longest chapter in Incendiary so far, that title taken by Chapter 3 at a whopping 9.5k words!

Let this make up for the fact that I may not be releasing Chapter 11 for some time, since it's still very much in the rough draft phase of writing and I'm still writing the beginning part of it. By some time, that I'm not really sure of. It entirely depends on how soon I manage to get a new job, or not. It may be a month, it may be a few weeks. But as of right now, I'm actively writing Chapter 11 during my downtime every day!

If I have a feeling that it might take a while to release, I may drop a teaser here on tumblr for you guys to read as an early sneak peak so you aren't left completely high and dry, cause I know how that feels being a reader too. And I love all of y'all. <3 Thanks for reading this update!

okok so first of all; general hcs !!

he likes art!! loves art!! this one is canon to me i just think he is so interested in any and all of humanity’s creative outlets and ofc art is the most prominent one. he loves all different forms of art — from sculptures to paintings to writing to video games (HEAVY on the latter btw i think he's so entranced by new technology) and so on.

and on that note!! i think he paints and writes himself :3 hes been alive for so long, learned so many languages, there's no way he didn't have time to pick up a paint brush. i think he paints to release stress!! and his styles vary but there's something mildly macabre abt all of his pieces. tends to gravitate towards expressionism above all else, especially the abstract kind.

i also feel like he sincerely enjoys ”bad” art like low budget movies and modern romance fiction and goofy video games…… he just thinks they're fun. def gets a good laugh out of them (this man canonically had a whole comedy phase he just wants to have fun!!)

and and and!! this is self indulgent as hell but i also think he cooks. there's just so much to learn when it comes to different cultures and their cuisine and i think they all interest him. but i hesitate to say that he's a good cook bc i feel like he’d make really weird fucked up food combinations just for the hell of it…. he's a freak. 100% the type to mix orange juice w black coffee just to see how it tastes.

i also hc that he has a soft spot for children, seeing as he literally carried and birthed one of his own LMAO... i just think he admires the innocence of childhood !! that childish and simple hope that adults tend to lose. he's very good w them too!! gentle and patient. and in geto’s body he has the softest nicest voice so i feel like kids gravitate towards him (i'm just thinking abt that One scene where he blows bubbles at a playground and all the kids chase them… they love him i just know he's a regular at that park)

OH AND……. idk if i’d call this a hc exactly but i just wanna see kenny in more feminine clothing. he literally has All the genders i don't think for a second that he cares abt gender norms. one moment he's in that tacky middle aged divorced father core hawaiian tshirt (he's so Me), the next he's wearing a purple floral dress or a puffy turtleneck <33 i just think he could pull anything off.

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF……. relationship hcs <33333 hes a whole red flag but hes also my silly pookie bear just trust me on this

FIRST OF ALL he's huge on quality time. if he's in a relationship w u then that means he sincerely enjoys ur company and therefore has a tendency to just bring u with him wherever he goes. otherwise he gets bored and starts whining abt it (silly silly man) hes a lonely guy ok </3 i feel like he gets very sudden urges to explore new places / do new things and he’ll make sure you’re right there w him !! you’ll wake up in his arms only to find you're in a snowy forest or some shit and he just WILL not tell u where he's taken u bc its ”a surprise ^_^” LMAOO

he also takes on a teaching role in the relationship and i think that's where hes happiest !! gets a kick out of it but it's also kind of special to him. especially if you haven't seen much of the world, or if you're just a naturally curious person — preferably both. he just enjoys teaching you new things, leading you towards new sights, drinking in your expressions and reactions. it's precious to him. something to cherish.

ON THAT NOTE i think he has this unquenchable curiosity that gets temporarily sated when he tries to like . Dissect you. see inside your mind. it's like hes solving a puzzle that never runs out of pieces. hear me out riko but i see him as somewhat similar to makima, he's detached and has trouble connecting w people and handles you almost like a math equation….. but since he unlike makima is a human being, i think he still has the capacity to grow to care for you and treat you like an equal (or something close to an equal). he genuinely does love you, but he's rusty. kenjaku just wants to know all there is to know about you — every single thing. he’d dig into your brain if he could, but he’ll settle on just brewing you tea, listening to you speak about your fears, hoping it’ll give him the same insight.

he's a little possessive . kind of a Lot. idk i just think he feels a pang of jealousy when he sees u laugh and have fun w someone else (he's like a preschooler getting pouty bc his bestie is playing w someone else LOL) and that makes him Uncomfortable so he just waltzes in and steals u away w a smooth smile and a hand on ur waist. pretends like it doesn't bother him in the slightest but if u tease him too much he drops the smile and gives u a Look (it's scary as hell so u immediately shut up LMAOO) and god forbid someone else is like… teaching u something… a subject they're knowledgeable abt while u sit there listening happily to their rambling……..... ohhh he gets so jealous it's funny. researches that particular subject in frightening detail JUST so he can correct your little friend and teach u abt it himself <33 weirdo. freak.

also (this is extremely important to understanding kenny's character) he's both mother coded and father coded but in the worst possible ways.

he's mother coded in the sense that he's a smidge controlling, good at coaxing you into doing things outside your comfort zone, an expert at making you feel guilty by acting especially sweet and gentle, has the ability to make you cry w one disappointed look etc etc

and he's father coded in the sense that he's easily offended but pretends not to be, wants to see you succeed so bad that it's almost more for him than you, forces you to have really deep onesided philosophical talks at 2am when you just want to sleep, sucks at voicing his love for you out loud so he just buys a bag of your favorite fruit, cuts them into slices and calls it a day. etc etc. he's awful actually. i need him

but !!! as for more soft hcs i think he's honestly an affectionate guy deep down… like deep deep down but it's there. he just likes having u close. preferably touching him. not constantly bc that’ll annoy him but he wants you to stay near so he can pull u into his lap whenever. loves reading to u while u rest ur head on his thigh, playing w ur hair and lulling u softly to sleep <3333 (it's the geto kinnie in him) AND idk why this came into my mind but i think he likes nose kisses. just bc ur face scrunches up and he thinks it's cute. he can be sweet !! probably.

OHHH AND he loves playing board games w u <33 everything from chess to monopoly. he thinks it's fun + a good bonding activity but it's only fun in the beginning. he's condescending if u lose and petty if u win but he’ll still ask u to stay up w him all night just so u can finish the game (he's insufferable actually) if u decline he’ll huff and play by himself while shooting u petty glares until u feel bad and join him. then he's back to being all suave and calm and mature ohhhh i hate him

he wants to be the mature stoic indulgent person in the relationship sooooo fucking bad but he’s plagued by silly impulses day and night. he’s just good at hiding it. but deep down he is and always will be a silly nerd <33

and finally; i think that in a no curses au he's significantly less of a freak but still weird and obsessive and a lil mean. bullies u just a tinyyy bit and acts condescendingly sweet but he cares for u a whole bunch. probably struggles w showing it in a way that isn't too overbearing or mildly alarming… maybe through writing. poems and paintings of u… sculptures…. just wants to portray the beauty he sees in u (can u tell artist!kenny makes me go a little crazy)

overall hes a weirdo hes a freak (def wants u to kiss his brain just to see how it feels) and he may or may not be a bundle of red flags but i love him dearly <333 hes a silly goose. i want to study him in a lab

Long post incoming!!

So quick plug of an old blog that established a lot of my HS godtier opinions early on dahniwitchoflight so you can see a lot of where my context originates (esp. the godtier aspect masterpost) but with that out the way here we go

In terms of godtier opinions, I don't believe in gendered classes. I think that, socially, there may be a bias certain genders may have to certain classes (Muse and Lord, for example). But I don't believe that's an absolute. For one, there are more genders than the binary and people don't always identify as one forever. Secondly, I think to say that, for example, Lord is always aggressive and therefore only men can be Lords is uhhhhhhh,,, very stereotypical and simply doesn't encapsulate the range of human expression. Besides, isn't it more fun for the classes to be non-gendered using gendered human words? Who's to say the game mechanics of SBURB/sgrub are in english? There's gotta be some kind of translation errors or approximations going on in lore lmao

Related to this is that a godtier is meant to be a culmination of a character arc, the end reward of the 'ideal self' a character can be. This is not referring to 'ultimate' selves (i sincerely don't want to touch that concept at all) or even 'morally correct' selves - merely the best kind of self a character would want to be. The best you that you wanna be! Whether that means embracing your flaws or overcoming them, the godtier is the symbol of your growth as a person. Hence why to 'go godtier' you have to fuse your dreamself and awake self together, finally bringing together the two separate experiences you've lived as a player before this; your 'normal' life and your SBURB life. This also follows why death is a consistent theme and in fact needed for godtier ascension. You are killing or accepting the death of your former self in order to ascend into your new self, via combining everything you've learned into everything you'll be. It's supposed to be a positive, if traumatic, experience. Like changing and growing in life already is! Just faster lol

On a brief design point, I do think godtier outfits should also therefore change to fit the wearer and what they're comfortable with. I don't necessarily think that it should be like, witch skirt for girls but trousers for boys, I think that if a godtier outfit is your ideal self it should automatically change into whatever you'd be comfortable wearing. So if someone is a Witch, but doesn't mind wearing a skirt, then they'd ascend into the default Witch outfit. If they then wanted to change it they could through a thought. But if a Witch ascends and they hate skirts or maybe just cannot imagine wearing one then maybe it changes into shorts or something lol. I've actually done some alternate designs of godtiers along this line as it happens which you'll see in this post.

I also like the Aspect counterparts, that each one has an opposite, and while in canon that doesn't have much of an effect on the godtier design beyond the kids, I actually like the accessories and shoes on godtiers taking on the colours of their opposite Aspect. I like that it symbolises that even their opposite has an affect on the Aspect in question.

Now, this is all some lovely prose but what am I going on about? So, like all great and real scientists, I'll use myself as an example first.

Me - Sylph of Heart

So I've gone through many, many iterations of godtier introspection (started in Hope, have moved to Heart, Sylph has stayed pretty consistent but I still have doubts) and, of course, being a real life person this is the one that's evolved and changed the most as I have evolved and changed throughout my teens and adult life. But for the sake of analysis, I'll give my 'sona' or 'self-insert' the godtier to separate myself from the analysis and come at this more honestly.

Heart as an Aspect is all about Emotion and the Soul. As the opposite counterpart to the Aspect Mind (which is concerned with the brain, reason and, y'know, the mind lol), Heart players are more impulsive and driven by personal goals. It's all about the Inner Self, the Individual, what makes You Unique as opposed to everyone else in the world. It's Passion, it's Empathy, it's Understanding - about people, mostly. It's about Knowing Yourself and what you like or dislike. Your Heart, in a lot of ways, is the emotional centre and Heart players follow it to a T - and often to the detriment of everything else. It's not inaccurate to say Heart players come across as self-obsessed b/c they are concerned with discovering themselves and their own identity. None of these things come without drawbacks of course and none of this means Heart players don't care about others. They simply assume everyone else is just as obsessed with Finding themselves as they are. I mean, at their best, Heart players are compassionate, imaginative and a steady presence in life. But, uh, at their worst they can come across as dismissive, rigid or nosy lol Personally, as someone very driven by emotion and with a tendancy for introspection, to the point of contantly overthinking my feelings and second guessing my impulses, I feel comfortable in the Heart Aspect.

So Sylphs are talkers. Chatterboxes you could say. They're also one of two 'healer' classes and the active counterpart to Maid. Which yeah I'm aware I have a tendency to ramble. Sylphs are known to love talking about their interests to an audience, whether the audience is interested or not lmao. For a Sylph of Heart, that's mostly concentrated into the subject of Love and Relationships. Sylphs are also nosy little meddlers and so one interpretation of Heart could be a cupid-like matchmaker of sorts. I don't personally see that for myself but it's a valid interpretation.

Personally, I see myself as a person obsessed with Connection and the Relationships that make these connections stable. Friendship, romantic, QPR, you name it, I'm interested in the dynamics. In fiction and in fandom, this makes me a prolific shipper yes haha but most of all I love character interactions. I love filler episodes! And beach episodes! And regency romance! And slice of life isekai anime! B/c all those things prioritise character interaction and personal character arcs over plot or action or whatever haha. I love gentle drama and harmless gossip, I love watching two people get to know each other and be forever changed for having met one another and! I!! Love!!! My!!!! Friends!!!!!!!

Also the sylph outfit is cool af actually. In this image I've actually redesigned it to be a little more gender neutral hence the billowing trousers but I love the no sleeves and the curled shoes and the ribbon-y capelet thing lol. And the bangles!!

I have some ideas for godtier powers but they're not fleshed out yet, but for Sylph of Heart I imagine they'd have to power to 'heal the soul/heart' so to speak. To keep emotions steady in the heat of battle and to help heal mental or emotional wounds. They sound like a support class, like a buffer or healer.

Oh god this got long, I have some ideas for lands but I'll be honest it's almost entirely based on this post from dahni years ago (literally 10 years ago oh gods how long have I been here) b/c i really vibe with it so I have nothing new to really add lol. Maybe there'd be like pink lakes or maybe i'd have a coastal type planet with rough seas that symbolise riding the waves of emotion or something lmao
