“
“Triple header,” he says, heaving a sigh. “Here we go again.”
Callum nods, refraining from commenting that they are probably not even going to get home in the coming triple headers, considering they are going to be in Asia and the Americas. In fact, he is having someone to take Poppy up to England this very afternoon, just so his family could look after her, considering he is going to be absent for long stretches, and considering their plans for the run-in of the season.
Instead he chooses to comment on their outlook for the rest of the season. “Let’s wrap it up with something good.”
“Is that a challenge?” Mick waggles his eyebrows as he responds.
Callum smirks. “Absolutely.”

Rahal ends six-year pole position drought at Indianapolis | IndyCar
Six years since the last time he started on pole position in the IndyCar series, Graham Rahal will start up front once again at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Rahal will lead an all-Rahal Letterman Lanigan front row in tomorrow’s 85-lap race around the grand prix course, with Toronto Indy winner Christian Lundgaard starting alongside him.
Lundgaard was holding onto provisional pole in the waning seconds of the Fast Six session, before Rahal surpassed him after the chequered flag and took the top spot with a time of 1’10.113, a tenth of a second clear of his Danish team mate.
For Rahal, it’s his first IndyCar pole since the first race of the 2017 Detroit Grand Prix. Rahal went on to sweep that double-header weekend, which is also his most recent IndyCar victory.
It was also a much happier return to the Speedway for Rahal, less than three months after he was bumped from the field at the Indianapolis 500 – on a day where all three of RLL’s full-time runners had to go through the Last Row Shoot-out. Rahal eventually made it into the race as a substitute for the injured Stefan Wilson.
Behind Lundgaard, who won pole at the same track in May, an all-McLaren second row sees Alexander Rossi third and Pato O’Ward fourth.
Devlin DeFrancesco, who has looked less and less likely to return to Andretti Autosport next season, recorded his best-ever IndyCar qualifying result in fifth place, ahead of Romain Grosjean in sixth.
Championship leader and Indianapolis GP winner Alex Palou missed the cut to fight for pole position in the second round, but he will start eighth tomorrow, alongside his Chip Ganassi Racing team mate Marcus Armstrong.
Crucially, Palou will start 11 places ahead of his nearest title rival, Josef Newgarden, who hadn’t been able to get up to speed since the morning’s practice session. Newgarden, visibly frustrated with his result, will start 19th.
Palou enters this weekend with an 84-point lead over Newgarden with four races left this season.
Jack Harvey finished eighth in qualifying but will take a six-place grid penalty for an unapproved engine change following the Music City Grand Prix last week, which demoted him to 14th on the grid and allowed Palou and several others to gain one place on the grid.
Helio Castroneves and David Malukas are also serving identical six-place grid penalties which will demote Castroneves to 18th on the grid, and Malukas to 27th and last, barring any additional grid penalties that may come before tomorrow.
This means Felix Rosenqvist will start ninth, ahead of Scott McLaughlin, Colton Herta, and rookie Linus Lundqvist, in his second race filling in for an injured Simon Pagenaud.

Tagged by @alexpalou thank you <3
1. Why did you choose your url?
Because I wanted to have a racing url for the feeder series and uni-virtuosi had my favourite line up last year when I was changing it so I thought why not.
2. Any sideblogs?
Yes, I have a figure skating sideblog that I do not use right now but I wanted to make another one so I might have 2 soon.
3. How long have you been on tumblr?
Just over a year now, although I did use it inactively before.
4. Do you have a queue tag?
No I do not, I queued a post once by accident and panic deleted it cause I do not enjoy the queue.
5. Why did you start the blog in the first place?
I started my blog because I originally planned to write and post some of my writing on here from football tumblr, but it took me less than a month to transition to F1blr after the season started.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
Because I made an icon for a driver I used to like that got cancelled, so I quickly changed it to Mr Callum Ilott and I have not changed it since.
7. Why did you choose your header?
Exact same reason I think.
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
This
9. How many mutuals do you have?
Anyone who has willingly interacted with me counts as a mutual to me so around 50 ish I would say?
10. How many followers do you have?
228 :)
11. How many people do you follow?
234 :)
12. Have you ever made a shit post?
Yes, I think so.
13. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog?
Once because of how insensitive the person was around the circumstances last weekend. Other than that one no, not even with anons.
14. How do you feel about the “you need to reblog” posts
If it’s information about a topic we need to know more about (i.e. Palestine) then I will but those ones for luck I absolutely hate because I feel guilt tripped into it, although I have now stopped.
15. Do you like tag games?
Yes
16. Do you like ask games?
Yes
17. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
A lot in comparison to me, but I don’t know if you can really be “tumblr famous” lol
18. Have you ever had a crush on a mutual?
No.

OWard wins Iowa 300 after Newgarden crashes out of race lead | IndyCar
Pato O’Ward took his second win of the season in the second, 300-lap race at Iowa Speedway after Josef Newgarden crashed out of the lead.
After leading 148 laps, Newgarden looked on course to claim a clean sweep of both wins at the short oval. But his race came to an abrupt end when his car suddenly snapped away from him at the exit of turn four on lap 236, sending him into the wall.
Newgarden was unhurt, but was distraught after his unexpected accident which cost him the opportunity to take the lead in the championship standings. He was credited with 24th place.
But one driver’s misfortune became another’s potential season-saver. O’Ward took the top spot, held his lead after the final restart, and began pulling away from second placed Will Power gradually as the laps ticked down. He went on to win the race by over four seconds.
And after a win and a second place finish in this weekend’s Iowa double-header, O’Ward’s championship chances – which looked remote after consecutive retirements at Road America and Mid-Ohio – have been refired. With five races left, O’Ward is now within 36 points of points leader Marcus Ericsson, who had another strong day and finished sixth.
Power, who led 80 of the first 83 laps from pole position, finished in second and he gained ground in the standings after two podiums in one weekend. The 2014 series champion is now just eight points behind Ericsson, second in the table.
Before the first caution of the race, when Kyle Kirkwood hit the wall at turn two, Power and Newgarden were running first and second at a searing pace, at one point all bar the two drivers closest to them a lap down.
Scott McLaughlin bounced back from yesterday’s misfortune with a loose wheel, to finish in third place behind his senior Penske team mate.
Following them were a trio of Chip Ganassi Racing cars: Scott Dixon in fourth and Jimmie Johnson with a career-best fifth place after overtaking Ericsson, who came in sixth. Alex Palou finished just outside the top ten, in 11th.
Felix Rosenqvist was seventh, rookie David Malukas recorded his best career finish in eighth. Ninth-placed Romain Grosjean was the first of the Andretti drivers, followed by Takuma Sato in tenth.
The top six in the IndyCar standings are now covered by 44 points with five races remaining: Ericsson, Power, Newgarden, Dixon, O’Ward, and Palou.
It’ll be a quick turnaround for the next race, the season’s second race on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, which is part of a joint weekend with the NASCAR Cup Series. Colton Herta won the spring race around the Indy road course earlier this year.
