[Caption: gifs from The Vampire Diaries. Caroline and Liz are alone at the Grill, face to face, both aware that Caroline is a vampire and Liz already knows about it. Caroline talks, while Liz looks overwhelmed, near tears. Caroline tells her she "explained [the supernatural] to [Liz] once", but she had to compel her to forget because she was scared of what Liz might do about it. Caroline starts walking towards Liz, who stays in place but leans her body away. Caroline tells her she doesn't want to lie, and states that she's not going to be afraid of Liz anymore. Caroline grabs Liz's closed fist and holds it in her hands, saying she doesn't want Liz to be afraid of her either. Liz shakes her head imperceptibly, holding back tears and a sob; Caroine tells her, her voice cracking, "I'm still your little girl. It's me.", hugging Liz. She repeats "It's me. Mom?", and Liz finally hugs back, crying on Caroline's shoulder, who smiles with relief and hugs her tight.]
