Fun Facts behind TTEOTM!
Creative Team
Till the End of the Moon is the second TV drama produced by newcomer Otters Studio (獭獭文化), which was originally set up for dangai/BL drama Immortality (皓衣行), also featuring Luo Yunxi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hangzhou-based Otters Studio is a subsidiary of Nanpai Entertainment (南派泛娱), the company owned by Kenneth Xu (aka “Third Uncle" 南派三叔). Xu is best known as the novelist and screenwriter behind "Grave Robbers' Chronicles" (盗墓笔记).
A big part of TTEOTM's core creative team also worked on Immortality. And a lot of the Immortality team came from Ashes of Love (2018) with Luo Yunxi. This includes...
He Fang (Screenwriter) - Immortality
Luo Xuan (Screenwriter & Associate Producer) - Immortality
Huang Wei (Costume Designer) - Immortality
Guan Dazhou (Music Director) - Immortality
Wang Yirong (Lead Producer) - Immortality
Wang Haiqi (B Unit Director & Action Director) - Immortality & Ashes of Love
Tsang Mingfai (Makeup Designer) - Immortality & Ashes of Love
Shen Xufei (Special Effects Director) - Immortality & Ashes of Love
Hua Tian World Concept - Immortality & Ashes of Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wang Haiqi was the stunt coordinator who trained Luo Yunxi in Ashes of Love
Part of the creative team came from Huanyu (Bai Lu's management company, aka the production company of Yanxi Palace). This includes award-winning art director Luan Hexin, Huang Xinyao (Yue Fuya) and Liu Min (Nan'an).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the second time Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu have paired up in a drama. They previously played a couple in modern workplace romance Love is Sweet (2020). Bai Lu expressed interest publicly in pairing up with LYX again in a costume drama numerous times.
Tumblr media
In addition, a number of Love is Sweet actors have minor roles or cameos in TTEOTM:
Zhao Yuanyuan (Qiao Na aka Yuan Shuai's colleague who has a crush on him) plays the Moon Goddess
Cheng Chang (Jiang Jun's father) plays Ye Xiwu's father
Deng Jinghong (Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai's shady client) plays Ye Xiwu's brother Ye Zeyu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The popularity of TTEOTM has generated renewed interest in Love is Sweet on iQiyi. In the first half of 2023, Love is Sweet is ranked #5 on Yunhe's "old/classic drama" list, receiving 360M views (10M views/episode), equivalent to airing a new medium-budget drama.
Two actors in Ashes of Love also have minor roles in TTEOTM:
Wang Yifei (Shuihe aka peacock princess in Ashes of Love) plays the Devil God's lieutenant Siying
He Zhonghua (Heavenly Emperor aka Runyu's father) plays the King of Sheng, again terrorizing Luo Yunxi's childhood
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition, a number of TTEOTM actors play minor roles in the unaired Immortality:
Huang Yunyun (Yue Yingxin) plays Song Qiutong
Zheng Guolin (Qu Xuanzi aka Susu's father) plays Jiangxi
Huang Haibing (Zhaoyou) plays Nangong Zhangying
He Zhonghua (King of Sheng) plays Nangong Liu
Geng Yeting (Ye Qingyu) plays an unknown role
Production
The source novel (黑月光拿稳BE剧本) was optioned by Otter before it was complete due to strong early hype around the IP and interesting characters & premise. It's one of the top 10 most-saved web novels of that genre on the Jinjiang platform. Its title literally translates to "black moonlight is guaranteed a bad ending screenplay".
The screenplay was written for 40 episodes, which was edited into 50 episodes of probably 45 mins each. The original plan (based on governmental records) was to air 34 episodes as part 1 and 16 episodes as part 2. However, the NRTA (Chinese government agency that regulates TV) closed the loophole around airing two seasons back to back early this year, which is why TTEOTM was edited back down to 40 episodes of 55 mins each so that it could air in one go.
TTEOTM changed its Chinese title twice. It was originally named 月照千峰为一人 (The moon shines for one person). It was then renamed to 长月无烬 (long moon without Jin/ember, also a pun for without limit or endless), which is the official publication name proposed by fans of the web novel. Right before the booting ceremony, it was renamed 长月烬明 likely for auspicious reasons (especially after the LYX accident and Immortality not airing)
Some keen netizens have noticed that if you break apart the characters of its Chinese title, 长月烬明, it becomes 长月火尽日月, which literally means....
长月 (long moon) - how people refer to the drama, in its short form
火 (fire) - Chinese internet lingo for explosive or popular
尽日月 (to the end of sun and moon)
(Gotta give one to Chinese people for coming up with auspicious names)
Luo Yunxi was injured right before production began when filming his final scene in Light Chaser Rescue. He got punched in the mouth by a costar which required emergency surgery and left a scar on the top left corner of his mouth. Production was delayed as a result. Bai Lu had to film her solo scenes first starting Oct 19, 2021. The booting ceremony took place on Nov 6, 2021 after Luo Yunxi joined the set.
Luo Yunxi was the first actor to be cast, according to an interview with the producer. It is rumored that he might have even picked which novel to adapt as Otter initially optioned both "Black Moonlight" and "Black Lotus Casebook". Bai Lu is also the "only choice" for Li Susu according to Yu Zheng.
Yin Tao (Who Rules The world, Love & Redemption, and Ancient Love Poetry) was originally considered for director, but he worked on the Blood of Youth instead. In the end they went with Kuk Kok Leung, an award-winning veteran TVB director who has adapted 7 out of 8 Jin Yong novels. One of the Cantonese songs Luo Yunxi kept singing on set is the OST of the 1983 Condor Heroes where Kuk served as Assistant Director.
Sun Zhenni (Pianran) and Zhao Shiyi (Fuyu) won their roles through open casting call. Sun Zhenni was a big fan of Bai Lu, and the two became close friends during the shoot. She is 1/4 German Jewish through her paternal grandmother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chen Duling (Ye Bingchang / Tian Huan) briefly dated Xichao Wang (who plays Jing Mie, the demon god's other lieutenant). They were apparently introduced by Yu Zheng (boss of Bai Lu's studio).
Luo Yunxi and Sun Zhenni are the only actors who dubbed themselves in the drama. Bai Lu is dubbed by Duan Yixuan, who is also the voice behind Linglong in Love & Redemption.
This is the second time Luo Yunxi plays a dragon god (Runyu is the first). This is also the second time Bai Lu plays a character who leaps off the tower to her death in a costume drama.
Post-production was rumored to be delayed and then rushed due to a number of reasons, including covid which hit the special effects team hard and the last minute change of the 40-episode rule.
Promotion
During the premiere day, celebrities posted on Weibo to promote the drama in support of Luo Yunxi (usually actors only ask for this favor when it's a really important project to their career): Huang Xiaoming, Tan Songyun, Wu Jingyan, Chen Yuqi, Cheng Xiao, Victoria Song, Zhang Ruonan, Huang Xuan, Chen Yao. The most noteworthy ones were Chen Xiao (whose drama was also opening on the same day) and EDG (the esports team that LYX supports)

【Exclusive Interview】 Xiao Zhan: The hard road is the uphill road.
Tumblr media
The interview with Xiao Zhan was late at night. On this day, he was busy with the training camp for the new movie during the day, and participated in the promotional program of the new drama at night, and it was nearly 12 o'clock after recording. In the lounge that was temporarily converted into an interview room, there were two sets of clothes he was wearing today hanging, two pairs of white sneakers on the floor, a machine rack, and the lights were turned on, so there was almost no room to move around.
After recording the show, Xiao Zhan changed his clothes and tidied his hair as quickly as possible, and walked into the lounge as quickly as possible. When he came to the door, he paused and walked in slowly. Say hello calmly and sit down quietly. Surrounded by the busy figures of the staff, adjusting the lights and confirming the radio, he held the interview outline and watched carefully, as if a chasing light was cast on his head, separating him from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, leaving only immersion and thinking.
Holding paper things in his hand seems to be Xiao Zhan's habit. Yang Xu, the performance director who has cooperated with him many times, once described him as "always holding the script at any time". On the one hand, this comes from his anxiety about the role, and on the other hand, it also comes from his awe of the role. As an actor with a non-professional background, Xiao Zhan has always held a cautious attitude towards acting.
This kind of posture is still running deep, and it has helped him realize some changes from quantity to quality. In the past 3 years, Xiao Zhan has participated in the drama "Dream Like a Dream" continuously, with tens of thousands of words in each scene; every year, he has a stable output of film and television dramas, from ancient costumes to modern times, from fantasy to realism; in June, the TV series "Where Dreams Begin” was broadcast, the audience saw a more mature actor Xiao Zhan.
In this drama, he wears a military overcoat, speaks Beijing dialect, rides a 28th pole, starts from the small Shichahai, and interprets a life of struggle spanning 30 years, outlining the endless life of that generation. Fighting youth. Xiao Zhan uses the word "nostalgia" to describe his "dream" - for Xiao Chunsheng, who he plays, this dream is born and raised in the city of Beijing, and it is also the original intention and persistence that has never been compromised.
Becoming Xiao Chunsheng is also a dream. In the dream, Xiao Zhan saw the characters and the times; he also saw himself and the present.
If you think it's right, you stick to it
Xiao Zhan first got the script of "Where Dreams Begin", and was attracted by Xiao Chunsheng's full growth line. "He has been through a lot in life, there are many twists and challenges, but he always chooses to rise to the challenge."
As a TV series about the struggle and growth of Beijing youth in the 70s of the last century, "Where Dreams Begin" has the idealism and romance unique to that era, and the chief planner Ye Jing and director Fu Ning are also masters of telling Beijing stories. The story begins on the eve of the resumption of the college entrance examination, when 6 young people meet at the Shichahai Ice Rink: the intelligent and unruly Xiao Chunsheng, the gentle and quiet Tong Xiaomei, the generous and righteous Ye Guohua, the proud and bright He Hongling, the sober and rational Ye Fang, and the studious Chen Hongjun. They each have their own ideals and constraints in life. Starting from this ice rink, they embarked on very different and intertwined life trajectories.
In the following 30 years, Xiao Chunsheng and his partners experienced the ups and downs of life, and also struggled and grew in the clarion call of reform and opening up. Family affection, friendship, love, challenges, opportunities, successes and failures, these keywords build the portrayal of ordinary people in extraordinary times.
Xiao Chunsheng, played by Xiao Zhan, is one of the most "axis": in the early stage, he was the eldest brother in the group, with ideas, courage, ideas, and the chivalrous courage of a young man; In the middle of the year, he aspired to make a career in the army, returned home lonely after being injured, and rose again with the support of tenacious faith; In the end, he walked out of Shichahai and experienced ups and downs in the business sea, but still cherished his original intention and realized another life value.
"I think the most similar thing between myself and Xiao Chunsheng is that I can always stick to what I think is right. In the play, Xiao Chunsheng has made many choices with social changes, but what he really insists on in his heart has not changed, including his friends, his family, and the career he cares about, and he is a person who is more mortal. Xiao Zhan told reporters.
The role is simple and carries a lot of energy throughout; But the role is also complex, and rollercoaster-like situations require actors to show a very different mental outlook.
The scene that impressed Xiao Zhan the most was the clip of Xiao Chunsheng returning to Beijing after being injured, "That scene requires the actor to immerse himself in sad emotions, and at the same time to make some different levels in this emotion, the difficulty is to show this change and progression." ”
With his legs injured, his father dead, and his lover leaving, Xiao Chunsheng got on a train to Beijing with a triple blow. In Xiao Zhan's view, Xiao Chunsheng was very uneasy at that time, "He was so proud and stubborn, he was actually in a wheelchair and was pushed into the car, so I would think, if it were me, I would do something." Xiao Zhan saw a pole next to the train door, so he helped the pole and got on the train. "I think this is what Xiao Chunsheng will do, because the stubbornness in his bones is: others can trouble me, I can stick a knife in the ribs for my brother and the people I care about, but if I am allowed to trouble others, it will cost my life." Xiao Zhan said.
After getting off the train, Xiao Chunsheng saw his sister, and the siblings hugged each other with tearful eyes, and this scene touched many audiences. In fact, this scene simply walked one bit, and when the filming officially started, the emotions were already in place, and the two actors naturally released all their grievances, distress, and unwillingness - real emotions cannot be rehearsed.
To complete this sense of scene, one requires the actor to be 100% familiar with the script, and the other requires the actor to fully enter the role. "Where Dreams Begin" is a jump shoot, and the before and after scenes may not always be smooth, so you must take the time and effort to sort out the order and performance of each scene, and do your homework on the script.
In Xiao Zhan's view, this is a challenge, but also a necessary way to become an actor.
Tumblr media
Actors speak with their works
Xiao Zhan is a "post-90s" actor, and "Where Dreams Begin" tells the story of his fathers. Referring to the influence of his parents on himself, Xiao Zhan told reporters: "I inherited their strength." Most people in Chongqing have a very strong and tenacious energy. ”
This energy runs through his acting path so far. Two and a half years ago, he was filming the TV series "Ace Troops", entered the group in advance to participate in military training life, went out to exercise at 5:30 every morning, and practiced running under the scorching sun. The director of the play, Liu Yan, has 3 words to describe him simply and accurately: "Can endure hardship." ”
Liu Yan's other evaluation of Xiao Zhan is also 3 words, "can think". For each role, Xiao Zhan always has to do his best to explore to find a support point in performance. When discussing his performance experience with reporters, Xiao Zhan said: "I prefer to do some preparation work outside the script, such as this character, what the environment he grew up in, what people and things have the greatest impact on him, these things are all outside the script and need to be excavated by themselves." ”
Each character already has a short biography of his or her own before filming begins. "Writing him out through your own understanding will help the interpretation of this character." This is Xiao Zhan's experience.
"Do you hope that when others mention Xiao Zhan in the future, they will say what kind of person he is?" The reporter asked him.
"He's had a good drama recently." He replied with a smile.
This is his ambition to be an actor who stands on a foothold in drama. In recent years, Xiao Zhan has increasingly felt the bond between performance and actors. often return to the hotel after filming, thinking back to the shooting of this day, there is an inexplicable sense of satisfaction, "will be very happy, will feel oh, in fact, this scene is really okay, all the hard work is worth it"; There will also be reflections, "or feel that the state of this scene is not very good, it would be better if it were done again."
"As a non-professional actor, with so much attention, the audience will inevitably look at you and evaluate you with a more rigorous eye, what do you think of these comments?"
"Just treat it normally, just like a line in "Where Dreams Begin", 'The hard road is the uphill road'. That's right, then I'll absorb it myself, and then correct it next time. For me, an actor speaks with a work, so everything serves the work. ”
Three years ago, at an event commemorating the 110th anniversary of Mr. Cao Yu's birth, Xiao Zhan had a conversation with Wan Fang, Cao Yu's daughter. Xiao Zhan asked Wan Fang a question: "Is sincerity the most important thing in creation?" ”
Wan Fang replied with a line from her work "Winter Journey": "There is no road to sincerity, sincerity itself is the road." ”
This sentence was deeply remembered by Xiao Zhan. He knows that the attitude towards performance should also be this way - there are no shortcuts to good performance, only sincerity and perseverance can be accomplished.
Don't be humble and focus on the moment
Before entering the entertainment industry, Xiao Zhan was a college student studying design, a diligent "Party B" in the company, and because of his work experience before the age of 25, he always had a professional consciousness, such as when talking about the drama "Dream Like a Dream", he described himself as a screw in the team.
Xiao Zhan told reporters that almost every year he is asked about future plans and goals, but in fact, he is not a person who likes to list plans. "It's about doing things well in the moment and living in the moment."
Now that it is the graduation season, Xiao Zhan recalls his career along the way and is very emotional. "After graduating from college, I first worked in my own major, and then jumped into the industry, and I was able to empathize with the anxiety that some graduates may have now. After coming out of the campus, the social environment has changed, the work content has also changed, everyone will encounter different difficulties and challenges, and after one difficulty, there will be the next. He said, "But you still have to adjust your mentality, don't be humble and unassuming, don't worry and worry too much, do what you have at hand, and the trouble will be solved." ”
At the beginning of 2020, Xiao Zhan attended an award ceremony, and on the podium, he wrote a "JIE". That was his small expectation for himself: "Don't be arrogant or impatient, stay up late, break the boundary and cross the world to break into the world." ”
From a designer to a singer, this is a beautiful and unexpected turning point in Xiao Zhan's life; from a singer to an actor, he has continuously broadened his career boundaries and gradually gained his own starlight; Accumulated with many works, consolidated ability, and moved forward steadily. At the end of the interview, Xiao Zhan said that he would not set a life plan too high and high, and that all the future comes from this momentary self.
About life, time will give the best answer.

Selected excerpts from Xiao Zhan's Global People interview
Tumblr media
Our interview with Xiao Zhan took place in the depths of the night. During the day, he had been busy with training camp for a new movie, and at night he attended a taping of a promotional program for his new show which ran until almost midnight. In the lounge which had been converted into our interview space hung the two outfits he wore today. Two pairs of white trainers sat on the ground. Once the equipment and the lights had been set up, there was almost no space to move.
After he finished the taping, Xiao Zhan changed as quickly as he could, fixed his hair and hurried to the lounge. Near the door, he stopped for just a moment, slowed his steps, came in. Greeted me coolly, sat quietly. Staff bustled around him, adjusting lighting, checking the mic. As he picked up and carefully read through the interview outline, there seemed to be a spotlight beaming down from above his head, separating him from the noise of the outside world, leaving only a man immersed in thought.
It seemed to be a habit of Xiao Zhan's to have some paper on hand. Acting coach Yang Xu, who has worked with him many times, once described him as "constantly with a script in hand". This comes partly from anxiety about the role, and also the respect he has for the character. As an actor with no professional training, Xiao Zhan still maintains a conscientious approach to performance.
This attitude, lurking beneath the surface, has been crucial to quietly helping him make the transformation from quantity to quality. In the past three years, Xiao Zhan starred in the play A Dream Like A Dream, with more than ten thousand characters of dialogue; there have been a steady stream of releases, ranging from costume to modern dramas, from fantasy to realist; when the TV series Where Dreams Began was released in June, audiences saw a more mature "actor Xiao Zhan".
Tumblr media
"I think the way in which I'm most like Xiao Chunsheng is that if we decide on the right thing to do, we will persist with it all the way. In the show, Xiao Chunsheng had to make a lot of different choices as society changed around him, but the core of what he insisted on never changed, including how he is with his friends, family, and his life's work. He's kind of an obstinate person," Xiao Zhan told us.
Tumblr media
"When people talk about you in the future, what do you hope they'll say?" We asked him.
"That show he was in recently was pretty good," Xiao Zhan says, smiling.
This is his intent, to be an actor who is known for his work. In recent years, Xiao Zhan has increasingly felt the special connection an actor has to the act of performance. At the end of the work day, back in his hotel room, he would often think back on the day with a strange sense of satisfaction.
"I'd feel really pleased, like oh, actually that scene was decent, all that hard work was worth it." Or he'd reflect, "that scene wasn't my best, if I could do it again I'd do better."
Tumblr media
"Audiences tend to have a harsher, more critical view of non-professionally trained actors who attract a lot of attention like yourself. How do you view these comments?"
Three years ago, at an event to commemorate 110 years since the birth of the playwright Cao Yu, Xiao Zhan had a conversation with Cao Yu's daughter Wan Fang. Xiao Zhan asked her: "is truthfulness the most important thing in doing creative work?"
"With equanimity. Like the line from Where Dreams Begin, 'the more difficult road is the one heading up'. If their comments have merit, then I'll take them on board and make changes next time. For me, an actor speaks through their works, so everything should serve the work."
Tumblr media
Wan Fang replied with a line from her play 'Winter's Journey': "There's no single path toward truth, truth is its own path."
Xiao Zhan carried this answer with him. He knew that this was also the attitude one should take to performing - there are no shortcuts on the way to a good performance; it can only be achieved through sincerity and persistence.

[Exclusive Interview] Xiao Zhan: A difficult road is an uphill road

When Xiao Zhan first received the script of “The Youth Memories / Where Dreams Begin”, he was attracted by Xiao Chunsheng’s full storyline of growth. “He went through a lot in his life, there were many turning points and challenges, but he always chose to face the difficulties.”
As a TV series about the struggle and growth of youths in Beijing in the 1970s, “The Youth Memories / Where Dreams Begin” had the unique idealism and romantic colors of that era. Chief planner Ye Jing and director Fu Ning were also masters in telling Beijing stories. The story began on the eve of the resumption of the college entrance examination, where 6 youths met at the Shichahai ice skating rink: the smart and unrestrained Xiao Chunsheng, the gentle and quiet Tong Xiaomei, the generous and righteous Ye Guohua, the proud and vivid He Hongling, the sober and rational Ye Fang, and the studious and meek Chen Hongjun. They each had their own ideals, but also had their own constraints in life. With this ice rink as the starting point, they embarked on completely different and intertwined life trajectories.
In the next 30 years, Xiao Chunsheng and his friends experienced the ups and downs of life, and also struggled and grew up in the clarion call of reform and opening up of the country. Family, friendship, love, challenges, opportunities, success and failure, these were the key words that constituted the portrayal of the ordinary people in extraordinary times.

Xiao Chunsheng, played by Xiao Zhan, was the most “pivotal” of them: in the early stage, he was the big brother of the group, with ideas, courage, thoughts, and the chivalry of a youth; in the middle stage, he was eager to make contributions in the army but he returned to his hometown lonely after injury, and then he stood up again under the support of his tenacious beliefs; in the end, he walked out of Shichahai, experienced ups and downs in the business world, but still embraced his original intentions and realized another type of value for his life.
“I think the most similar thing between me and Xiao Chunsheng is that I can always stick to what I think is right. In the drama, Xiao Chunsheng had made many choices as the society changed, but what he really insisted on in his heart did not changed, this included his friends, family, and the career he cared about, he was someone who was more obstinated.” Xiao Zhan told interviewer.
This role was simple, and it was full of vigor from beginning to end; but this role was also complicated, and the roller coaster styled situations required the actor to portray completely different mental outlooks.
The scene had the deepest impression on Xiao Zhan was the scene where Xiao Chunsheng returned to Beijing after being injured. “That scene required the actor to be immersed in sad emotions, and yet at the same time to create some different layers in this emotion, the difficulty was to display this change and progression.”
His legs were injured, his father passed away, and his lover left him, Xiao Chunsheng took the triple blows and boarded the train bound for Beijing. To Xiao Zhan, Xiao Chunsheng was feeling very uneasy at that time, “He was such a proud and stubborn person, and yet he was actually carried onto the car in a wheelchair, so I thought, if it was me, what would I do?” Xiao Zhan saw a pole next to the train door, so he supported himself using the pole and got on the train. “I think this was something Xiao Chunsheng would do, because the stubbornness in his bones would be: others can trouble me, and I can do things for my brothers and those who care about me, but if I need to trouble others, this will be the end of me.” Xiao Zhan said.
After getting off the train, Xiao Chunsheng saw his sister, and the two siblings hugged each other with tears in their eyes, this scene touched many audiences. In fact, this scene was just a simple movement of positions, when the filming officially started, the emotions were already in place, and the two actors naturally released all the grievances, heartache, and unwillingness — real emotions cannot be rehearsed.
To achieve this sense of presence, firstly it would require the actor to be 100% familiar with the script, and secondly it would require the actor to be fully one with the role. “The Youth Memories / Where Dreams Begin” filmed out of sequence, and scenes before and after might not always be in sequence, so it takes time and effort to sort out the sequence and performance of each scene, and do enough homework on the script.
In Xiao Zhan’s view, this is a challenge, and even more so it is the only way to become an actor.

Actors speak with their works
Xiao Zhan is a “post-90s” actor, and “The Youth Memories / Where Dreams Begin” told the story of his parents’ generation. Speaking about the influence of his parents had on him, Xiao Zhan told the interviewer: “I have inherited that strength of theirs. Most Chongqing people have this very strong and tenacious energy.”
This strength penetrated throughout his acting career so far. Two and a half years ago, he was filming the TV series “Ace Troops”, and he entered the group early to participate in military training life. He went out to exercise at 5:30am every morning and practiced running under the scorching sun. Liu Yan, the director of that drama, had 3 simple and accurate words to describe him: “can endure hardship.”
Tumblr media
Liu Yan’s other evaluation of Xiao Zhan was also 3 words, “can think”. For each character, Xiao Zhan always tried his best to explore, so as to find the support point of the performance. When discussing performance tips with the interviewer, Xiao Zhan said: “I like to do some preparation work outside of the script more, such as this character, what was his environment like growing up, what kind of people and incidents would have the biggest impact on him, perhaps such things are outside of the script, you need to dig them out yourself.”
Each character already already have a small biography of its own before filming started. “Writing him through my own understanding will help in the interpretation of this character.” This was Xiao Zhan’s tip.
“What kind of person would you hope people will say about Xiao Zhan when they mention Xiao Zhan in the future?” The interviewer asked him.
“His recent drama was good.” He replied with a smile.
This is his ambition, to be an actor based on acting. In recent years, Xiao Zhan had increasingly sensed the bonds between acting and actors. Often when he returned to the hotel after filming, when he recalled this day’s filming, he would always feel a sense of satisfaction, “I’d be very happy, and I’d feel that sigh, in fact, this scene was really okay, and all the hard work was worth it”; There would also be reflections, “or feel that my state in this scene was not very good, and it would be better if it did it again.”
“As an actor with a non-professional background, coupled with so much attention, the audience will inevitably look at you and evaluate you with more critical eyes. What do you think of these comments?”
“Just treat it with a normal mindset, just like a line in “The Youth Memories / Where Dreams Begin”, ‘a difficult road is an uphill road’. Those that are right, I will absorb it myself, and then correct it next time. For me In other words, actors speak through their works, so everything is in service of the works.”

Three years ago, at an event commemorating the 110th anniversary of Mr. Cao Yu’s birth, Xiao Zhan had a conversation with Cao Yu’s daughter Wan Fang. Xiao Zhan asked Wan Fang a question: “Is sincerity the most important thing in creation?”
Wan Fang replied with a line from her work “Winter Journey”: “There is no single road leading to sincerity, sincerity itself is the road.”
This sentence was deeply remembered in Xiao Zhan’s heart. He knew that he should have the same attitude towards acting — there is no shortcut to a good performance, only sincerity and persistence can complete it.
Be neither humble nor arrogant, focus on the current
Before entering the performing arts industry, Xiao Zhan was a university student studying design, as a diligent “contractor” in the company. Because of his work experiences attained before he was 25 years old, he always had a professional self-consciousness, for example, when talking about the drama “A Dream Like A Dream”, he described himself as a screw in the team.

Xiao Zhan told interviewer that he would be asked about his future plans and goals almost every year, but in fact he is not someone who likes to list plans. “It’s about doing what’s right now, living in the moment.”
It is the graduation season currently, Xiao Zhan recalled his career path with emotion. “After graduating from university, I first worked in my major and then jumped into this industry, I can empathize with the anxiety that some graduates may have. After leaving the campus, the social environment has changed, and the work content is also constantly changing, everyone will encounter different difficulties and challenges, and after one difficulty, there will be another one.” He said, “But you still have to adjust your mentality, be neither humble nor arrogant, don’t be too worried and troubled, and do your best in the matters on hand currently, the troubles will also be solved.”
At the beginning of 2020, Xiao Zhan attended an award ceremony. On the podium, he wrote “JIE”. That is his small expectation for himself: “Don’t be arrogant or hasty, refrain from staying up late, break boundaries, cross domains and explore the world.”
From a designer to a singer, this was a beautiful and unexpected turning point in Xiao Zhan’s life; from a singer to an actor, he had continuously broadened his career boundaries and gradually gained his own starlight; from fresh in the industry to gathering himself, he spent 3 years to train his stage performances and accumulate many works, he consolidated his abilities, and moved forward steadily. At the end of the interview, Xiao Zhan said that he would not set a life plan with ambition, and that the future came from this momentary self.
About life, time would give the best answer.

Note: My interesting take on the couple and how they came to be.
Tumblr media
I felt Minghao's grip on my arms as he tried to hold me back. His pheromones put me on edge once I got a whiff of his scent. He smelled sweet yet bitter. He smelled alluring...
He smelled delectable.
I opened my mouth as I felt my fangs sharpen. I wanted to bite him. I wanted to feel his skin against my lips and his blood pour into my mouth.
I wanted to suck him dry until he begins to moan out my name.
"Jie, stop!" He yelled.
He called me by my real name...
I used to hate it when he called me that, but I've grown used to it. He's the only one who calls me by my birth name, and it was his way of pissing me off.
Atleast, that was his intention before... now it just rolls off his lips like it was natural- like he wanted to talk to the real me before I got my international name.
I liked it when he said my name. The more he said it, the more my body ached for him.
"Say my name again," I tell him.
I felt drool come down my lips. I wanted his blood. I wanted it so bad.
Minghao stared at me with wide eyes from my words. He gritted his teeth with narrowed brows as I pushed him back. He wasn't strong against me since my kind were strong against nobles vampires- the original ones.
He fell backwards onto the bed while I continued attempt to bite his neck. He pushed me back with all his might, but I was persistent.
This is what he gets for visiting me. He should have just stayed away when I told him to. My absence was a warning for my hunger towards him because of this damned curse put on me.
Turning into a vampire made it difficult to be near anyone I had strong feelings for, and now for him to show up when I told him to leave me alone- this is all his fault.
He shouldn't have came here, because now... I don't think I can hold back.
I felt warm against his cold body. Our bodies were pressed against each other and I felt goosebumps run over me. He was so close to me.
"Minghao!" I growled his name with my mouth still trying to bite into his skin.
He struggled under me. "Jie! You need to calm down!"
I stared deeply into his eyes as if his dark orbs were jewels. I couldn't stop gazing at him. He looked so handsome when he struggled under me. His look of distress tantalized me.
I lost my sense of control the moment he came close to me, and right now, I don't know if it's wrong or right for me to puncture my fangs into his neck.
I wanted to see him in pain when I bite him. I wanted him to hold me tightly while I felt his warm blood inside my mouth. The texture must be great- the flavor must be amazing.
"Fuck, you look so delectable," I said.
My eyes wouldn't get away from him and he stared at me with fear.
"What the hell's wrong with you!? Get a hold of yourself Jie!" He yelled at me. "Fuck! Stop trying to bite me! Have you lost your fucking mind!?"
I shook my head with a smile I can't seem to hide. My heart raced with the way he gripped my arms. The way he was so close to me was making me lose my mind. I want him.
I want him right now.
"Let me bite you," I say with a growl. "I want you Minghao. I want you so bad. Just let me fucking bite you!"
His eyes widened. His grip never loosened.
"Stop with the bullshit!" He yelled at me. He sounded annoyed but also embarrassed.
"You're so annoying when you talk!" I yelled at him. "But fuck, your voice makes me want you more!"
His pale complexion slowly became red from my words. He gritted his teeth and tried to avoid my eyes. He seemed even more embarrassed.
"What wrong with you?" His voice became less rough but instead agitated. He sounded confused and annoyed, but also bashful.
His neck became more visible with the way he rotated his head. His muscular section with his collar bone put me on edge. It was like he was invited me.
A sudden feeling came to me once I tried to bite him.
I twitched as I tried to control myself. My subconscious was finally taking over my intrusive thought. What I was doing-
I pulled away from him and tried to calm my thirst. I couldn't stop drooling and I closed my eyes to get his image out of my head.
"Stop...stop... please just fucking stop," I whispered to myself.
I closed my ears and tried to get into a clear state of mind. But then I smelled him. I smelled him getting close to me.
I opened my eyes and saw Minghao with an unreadable expression. He was reaching out to me with his arms, but I pulled away.
I have to get out of here.
I need to get away from him.
I need to run.
But his hand gripped my wrist. He held onto me tightly, and I quickly attempted to pull away.
Although I'm stronger than him because I'm a turned vampire, his words is what made me stop struggling against him.
"You tried to bite me..." his once rough voice became soft. "Do you have any idea what that means?"
I stared at him. I knew what he was implying, but I was too stubborn to accept it.
"Nothing Minghao, it means nothing!" My voice came out rather loud in fear of what was going on between us.
I refused to accept the fact I like him. I refused to acknowledge it even if I lose control just from his pheromones. Even if it just happened- it's too embarrassing to admit.
I'm supposed to hate him.
But I ended up like this.
He pulled me towards him once he noticed my guard was down. I collided with his chest and he wrapped my waist with his other arm. Once I noticed I was trapped in his embrace, I tried to pull back.
I felt my wrist get pulled towards his face from his hand that remained on me. I stared in horror of what I know he'll do next.
"Don't you dare bite me," I snap at him. "You damn vampire."
If this was his way of showing dominance over me for my lack of control, it was pissing me off.
He opened his mouth showing a bit of his fangs. But instead of biting me, he began to speak with his lips close to my bare skin.
"I could bite you," he says aloud.
His eyes looked down at my wrist that was vulnerable before turning to look at me.
"But I won't," he says.
I narrowed my brows at him. "So why pretend you are?"
The way his breath tickled my skin made my heart race, but I tried to hide it. If I ignored it, he might not notice.
He put his thumb on my wrist and leaned his face towards me.
"I can feel your heart racing," his voice was low just like his eyes.
The way he looked at me was taunting yet seductive. I hated how he suddenly became so bold towards me. He usually just insults me or teases me, but I usually always win.
Yet somehow I felt weak against him.
How can I deny it? He knows. He fucking knows.
He tilted his head down to whisper in my ear. "Jie."
His warm breath tickled me. My breath hitched, and I felt my mouth water for him once more.
"What," I tried to control myself, but he wasn't making this easy. "What do you want? I told you to go away."
I felt his lips curl from the way he spoke.
"You want my blood right?" He suddenly says.
Blood...
My eyes grew big and my mouth watered from the thought. His warm red liquid...
I felt my mouth open as I tried to bite his neck that was so close to me. But I kept trying to fight it. Seungcheol taught me better than this.
But Minghao's neck looks so vulnerable...
It's right in front of me.
"Bite me," Minghao says.
His voice was demanding yet alluring. I narrowed my brows as I tried to stop his temptations. I can't do this.
I shouldn't do this.
I closed my mouth with all the control I had in me and rested my face in his neck. His scent may put me on edge, but my self-control was one of the best for my kind.
I tried to calm my adrenaline while I breathed him in.
Minghao was silent for a moment. His grip on me softened and he slowly pulled away. I fluttered my eyes to look up at him.
His lips were close to mine.
His eyes looked down at me with half lids. He suddenly looked tempted by me.
He let go of my wrist and moved my strands of hair that covered my face. He seemed different from the Minghao I always argued with. He looked at me as if there was some sense of fondness.
But why?
Why did he look at me as if I was some painting.
As if I was something valuable in his eyes?
Like I was the only thing in his world...
"Why do you look at me like that," I speak my thoughts aloud.
I watched his eyes widened as though he realized what he's done. This time, it was his turn to try to pull away from me. But I held onto him. My hands held onto his arms so he couldn't get away.
I didn't want him to go.
I wanted an answer.
He looked deep into my eyes while I tried to read his. This man has been on my mind though anger and joy and it bothered me. His existence bothered me.
Everything he did bothered me.
"I told you to leave me alone yet you came here." My voice somehow came out tender with wonder. I couldn't help but feel angry yet confused.
My hands made their way to his face. I held onto him so he couldn't turn away from me. He stiffened from my touch, but he remained still.
He brought his hands up towards my forearm, but he didn't touch me.
He didn't know how to respond or react. He was dazed.
"Minghao," I call out to him.
His face seemed more handsome than I remember. He looked at me with so much confusion and hesitation, but I saw a hint of affection.
I felt my gut twist and turn. My heart raced from this sudden feeling I had.
"Do you love me?"
My question surprised him as much as it did me. But I wanted to know. I wanted to know why he would come to me when I pushed him away. Why he always bothered me when I ran from him?
Why?
Why did he always want a reaction from me?
Why did he always appear during my time of need?
Why Minghao? Why?
His dark orbs remained focused on me and his brows narrowed as though he tried to find an answer to my many questions that ran through my head.
He looked down and avoided my gaze before moving his hands to hold onto my forearms.
"I..." he said. His voice wavered as he struggled speaking.
"You what...?" I ask him.
My face came close to his. His scent filled me like a drug. I was getting high just being this close to him. His eyes met mine and there was a look I didn't expect him to make.
Did he yearn for me?
His grip on me tightened. He stared at me intensely with parted lips.
"What if I do?" He says. "What if I do feel this way towards you?"
My heart raced and my breathing hitched. Somehow our faces shorted the distance we once had between us.
He moved his hands off my arms before carefully holding my face like I did with his. Our eyes couldn't get off each other. And my lips parted from the way his breath was so close to mine.
"Minghao..." I whispered.
Our foreheads touched and our lips were so close together. I stared at his mouth that was so tempting to take in.
"What is it...?" He whispered towards me with wanting eyes.
My breathing became heavy as my fangs began to take shape. I tried to calm my breathing but we're so close together. I can't help but want him.
"Kiss me," I whisper.
I felt his lips collide with mine and I narrowed my brows from how his cold body suddenly felt so alive. I moaned from how deep he kissed me while I tried to keep my balance from his stature.
He wrapped one arm around me and he pushed me back by his kiss. I held onto him as I tasted his lips against mine. I walked backwards from the way his body pushed against me and I felt myself hit a wall.
He pushed me against it as we fought for dominance with our tongues. He moved his hands towards my thighs and lifted me up so I could straddle my legs around him.
I felt a dent forming within his pants and it rubbed against my woman's hood. I wrapped my arms around his neck before letting out a sigh of bliss from the way he made me felt.
He took the opportunity to attack my neck. I felt him lick my bare skin with his warm breath before sucking on it. My hands came to his hair, and I softly pulled his black locks.
"Minghao..." I whispered from the sensation.
I felt him leave a mark on me while he continued to makeout with my neck. I couldn't stop myself from releasing soft whimpers and moans. My body felt like it was melting from his touch.
"Fuck, you feel so good against me," he whispered before sucking his lips against my skin.
The sudden sensation cause me to arch my back. I leaned my neck out and my grip on him tightened.
"Oh fuck... Minghao," I say aloud.
I began to rub my body against him. My crotch rubbed against his and he let out a soft groan. He began to move his hips against me and his dent put me on edge.
"I need you," I tell him while he kissed my collar bone.
I felt his breathing grow heavy. He carried me off the wall and pulled his face away from my neck. I took the chance and slammed my lips against him. He groaned from my action and I felt his thumb caress my thighs. I felt a chill run down my spine and my womanhood desire him.
He brought me down to the bed and placed himself over. He pulled away and I watched as he stood upright. He took off his black sweater to reveal his upper torso.
His pale yet toned body cause my adrenaline to kick in. My mouth watered to puncture his body.
Minghao looked at me with low eyes. His black bangs covered a bit of his orbs causing his demeanor to become very dominant.
He kneeled down to crawl over me. His face came close to mine and my thirst for him felt immense.
He looked deeply into my eyes and I couldn't help but push him down to the bed. I straddled him. His bulge pressed against my weight and I winced from the sudden feeling.
I parted my lips with a bit of my fangs ready to attack him. But I kept fighting against it.
I closed my eyes and brought my head low.
I shouldn't do this to him.
I felt his fingers rub my cheek. My eyes shot open to see his face that stared at me. He wasn't scared nor was he worried.
He lifted a bit of my upper lip to see my fangs. I began to drool from his touch.
"You can bite me, Jie," he tells me.
His voice was deep and low. It was like he wanted me to. He seemed to have no regrets from his words.
I narrowed my brows.
"Why?" I ask him. My voice came out confused and low.
He sat up with hand still caressing my face. His eyes remained on my lips for a moment before looking back up at me. He had a tender look.
"Because I want to be the only one to feel it."
His words made my heart race. Did I hear that right?
Minghao wanted to be the only one to feel my fangs?
No...
"Stop kidding yourself," I whisper to him.
His brows narrowed. He didn't seem happy to hear my words.
"Do you think I'm joking?" His voice came out rather upset with slight irritation.
The way he looked at me. I know he wasn't.
And it scared me more. He was serious. He wanted me.
He wanted to be mine.
"If I bite you.." I whisper to him. I looked deeply into his loving eyes.
He listened to me carefully while he rubbed his thumbs against my lips causing butterflies to scatter all around my body.
"...I won't be able to stop," I say.
I watched his lips curl up upon hearing my words. He seemed amused. Maybe even more turned on. His dent rubbed against me and I felt my eyes lower towards him.
His eyes stared at my lips. He craved me.
"Then don't stop."
My eyes widened. My adrenaline kicked in and my heart raced uncontrollably. Did he really say that? Did he mean it?
He laid back down onto the bed as if he was presenting himself towards me. I stared at him with hunger. He had to be serious.
I felt drool come out of my lips again while my eyes remained focus on him. His bare neck looked so delectable...
"Bite me," he tells me.
He tilted his head to show more of his neck. His skin stretched in front of me. My throat suddenly felt dry. I wanted him. I wanted to taste his blood.
I opened my mouth. His veins drew on his pale skin like tempting lines.
"Minghao," I whispered to him, my voice getting low to a growl. "Don't tempt me."
He smiled seductively from my threat. He looked alluring yet taunting.
"Bite... me..." he said slowly with a low sexy voice.
I felt my impulse take over me. My body moved on its own and I found my lips on his neck. My fangs punctured his skin causing drips of his red liquids to enter my mouth.
I felt him stiffen from my bite and a soft groan escaped his lips.
His pheromones- his scent.
He smelled like the forest. He smelled sweet like berries with a hint of pine.
His blood. It was thick in texture but sweet in flavor. I held onto him as I drank his warm liquids.
"Jie," I heard him say.
One of his hands pushed my head deeper into his neck while the other wrapped around my waist.
I couldn't stop. He was like candy and I had a sweet tooth. I felt drunk. I felt high.
I felt light.
I pulled away from his neck with drops of blood coming out of my mouth. I began to lick his liquids that pours onto his neck. I heard his sigh in bliss from my tongue that danced on his surface.
"Fuck..." he whispered. He groaned once he felt my hot breath tickle his neck.
I sat up once I cleaned up all I could before rubbing the drops of blood off my face. I looked down and saw stains of blood on my clothes along with Minghao's pale skin become pink and red.
He was healing from my bite.
He sat up again and pulled me in for a kiss. His tongue rubbed against my mouth causing him to taste his own blood. But he didn't wince from the stains he cleaned off me.
He kept going.
He kept ravaging me while he unbuttoned my black sleeveless blouse. Under me, his dent remained up and the way his touched me made me rock my hips.
He groaned while he kissed my neck. He helped me toss off my blouse before staring at my breasts that was held up by my black bra.
He stared intently at them before wrapping his arms around me. He placed his face into my cleavage and I felt his lips against my skin. The feeling left a chill run through me.
I felt him unclip my bra. I took it off and he quickly made work on my chest. He sucked and fondled each of my breast with so much love and attention.
I softly moaned from the sensation while I played with his hair.
"Mhm..." I bit my lips.
He then pulled away and traced my curves with his hands before resting on my hips. He helped me move them to match the rocking of his.
His shaft felt so hard against me. I tried to hold back my moans, but I can feel the shape. I was trying to remember everything about it.
It felt so good against me.
But what about it inside my lower lips? What about inside my body?
Minghao rolled me over to the bed and I watched as he brought his body over mine. He crawled off me and helped me take off my blue denim jeans.
The cold air hit my skin and he tossed the clothing elsewhere. He brought his hands to my thighs. His finger tips felt electrifying.
He caressed my legs and left kiss marks. His breath felt so warm against my skin while he made his way to my woman hood.
I felt myself getting more moist from his touch. If I was wet before, then I was pouring now.
He placed his tongue against my womanhood that was covered by my underwear. I could feel the sudden sensation take control of me.
My back arched and I let out a moan.
"Minghao," I call out his name with closed eyes.
I was focusing on everything he was doing to me. The way his tongue danced against the cloth and his nose pushed against my clitoris.
I let out a loud moan once I felt his two large, long fingers slide inside my hole. My walls clamped onto him while he slowly moved in and out of me.
I held onto Minghao's hair as he continued to go down on me.
"Ugh... Minghao!" I yell from the way his fingers felt.
I looked down in excitement. I wanted to see him. My eyes met with his, and that's when I realized he's been watching me this whole time.
I bit my lips and watched him pull away before removing my underwear. He began to unbuckle his belt and take off his black tactical pants. I can see his shaft peak over his black boxers and I grew more aroused.
His muscular, lean body was captivating. He began to take off his boxers and I saw his large head stand upright.
I sat up and reached out to touch him. He winced from my touch. His dark orbs watched my hands carefully hold his shaft that required two hands. He let out a heavy breath upon feeling his penis in my grasp.
I brought my head down and began to lick the precum from his tip. He groaned from my tongue and brought his hands towards my face.
He moved my hair and held it up so I wouldn't have any distractions. He was being courteous towards me, and I couldn't help but smile.
I brought his head into my mouth and stared up at Minghao. He looked so aroused I wanted him to see his reaction from the amount of pleasure I was going to give him.
I began to bob my head and stroked his shaft. I kept a steady pace and his eyes slowly closed with his lips parting.
"Oh fuck!" He groaned.
His hands adjusted so they would hold my head. He began to control my movement and he thrusted against my mouth. Once I was able to get his full length in me, I held his hips and gagged as I deep throated him.
He let out moans that slowly got louder. He sounded so hot, I was losing my mind. It was like music in my ears.
"Jie. Jie! JIE!" He called out my name.
I could feel his length twitch. He was going to cum. I was ready for him to pour it all into me.
He continued to moan and his pace quickened. My head shook vigorously from the way he thrusted into my mouth and his hands pulling me in and out.
"OH FUCK!" Minghao yelled.
I felt it. The liquids squirted into my mouth and I drank every last drop of it. Minghao watched me pop his shaft out of my lips before licking every side of his shape.
He caressed my cheeks with half closed eyes. His face was red from the amount of energy he used.
He looked a little tired, but he still had some energy in him.
I let go of his shaft that become soft. He came down to my level and kissed me. I felt his body press against mine and his weight pushed me back onto the bed.
He held me tightly while he rubbed his face into my neck. He continued to fondle me. I held onto him.
"I want to feel your walls," he whispered. "I want to feel all of you, Jie."
I held him tighter. He made my heart race. The thought of him penetrating me ran through my mind.
His pheromones were getting stronger.
I bit his neck from the amount of desire I had for him. He winced from my bite and I continued to drink blood from his neck. He felt so good on my lips. His blood was as sweet as ever.
I sucked his neck while he groaned. I felt his shaft slowly get back up. Minghao's breathing was getting heavy again.
I pulled away from his skin and he kissed me. His blood was still in my mouth but he still danced his tongue against mine. He drank his own from my lips. I felt a bit drip from my mouth but he licked it off just like before.
I moaned once I felt his shaft get back up. He was rubbing it against me. We were both growing impatient.
He pulled away from me and lifted my legs towards my sides. He had a full view of my wet folds and I saw his penis get up.
I held onto his forearms and he began to rub his dick on my entrance. His tip left shocks throughout my body and my heart pounded with every stroke.
"You look so fucking beautiful," he says.
His voice was low while he eye fucked me. I stared into his dark orbs with wanting.
"Fuck me, Minghao," I tell him. "Fuck me until we both forget our names."
His breathing hitched and I felt him slowly enter me. My grip on his arms tightened. I tried to watch our body connect but his shape felt immaculate inside me.
I threw my head back and let out a groan. I couldn't contain the sensation I was feeling. He felt so good.
And he hasn't even started thrusting.
"Oh fuck!" I yelled.
I felt Minghao pushed his weight onto me with his length filling me to the rim. He penetrated me so deep I was drooling.
"Minghao, baby..." I call out to him.
He was making my mind get foggy. He brought my legs to his shoulders and moved my hands above my head. He was dominating me and the look he had was so fucking hot.
"I'm going to give you more than you can imagine," he growls.
He began to move his hips and let out a moan from the way my walls held so tightly against his large rod. It was like I was desperately holding onto to it so I can feel all of him.
He slid in and out of me with a shake of the bed. My hands formed into a fist and I couldn't keep my eyes on him. I threw my head back as he began to pick up speed. He continuously rammed into me and I let out moans that followed his beat. He reach so deep into me that I knew my insides would never be the same.
"Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!" I couldn't help but yell with each thrust he impaled.
He sucked my neck while he ruined me.
The sound of our skins slapping was loud as everything else going on. Bed framing hitting the wall, the moans we both yelled like a duet, and the creaking that shook the room.
We were making a symphony.
My heart raced from the tune that matched the amount of pleasures I felt.
Minghao pulled away from my neck and kneeled up right. He lifted my hips and he thrust faster than before. My body arched so he can hit more angles.
His eyes looked down at our connection before looking back at me.
"Damn it!" He yelled. "You feel so good!"
His mouth was parted with his face red. He was watching me lose my mind. I shook as each thrust left me wanting more.
He lifted me up and we switched spots. I straddled him while he held my hips. His rod dug deep into me while he helped me move my hips.
I matched his pace and my hands laid on his muscular chest. He watched me ride him and I bit my lips.
"Minghao!" I moaned as his length kept hitting me.
Our hips moved with such speed the room felt like it was going to break apart. Minghao opened his mouth and he moaned the more I shook my hips.
"Just like that baby," he tells me. "Just like that!"
My eyes met his and he looked so handsome and captivating, my heart raced more. His black bangs kept moving from my thrusts and the way he focused on me made me melt.
I whimpered. I felt my climax coming. I fell onto Minghao and he wrapped his arms around me. He continued to thrust while I moaned into his ear.
"Oh fuck! OH FUCK!" He moaned.
"Baby! BABY! PLEASE!" I yelled.
He rocked my body and I shook while I held onto him for dear life. I wanted him to release into me. I wanted to feel his warm liquids.
I lifted myself above him with my face close to his. I tried to use every ounce of my energy to see his face. I wanted to know what he'd look like knowing he'll be breeding me.
"Give it to me! GIVE IT TO ME!" I yelled while I held his face.
He opened his mouth and continued to moan as he disorganized my organs.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" He held my hips tightly and slammed his dick aggressively into me.
I closed my eyes and the feeling began to kick in. I was cumming.
"BABY! PLEASE!" I begged him as he caused chaos throughout my body.
He rammed his lips into mine and I moaned against him. I couldn't stop moaning and screaming for him. He held me so tightly that our bodies felt crushed together. The way he held me-
"BABY!" I yelled
I was cumming.
Minghao continued to pump me with all his strength and I shook from all the pounding. The ecstasy made my eyes roll back and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I held onto him so tightly that I may have left claw marks on his back and shoulders.
"FUUUCK!" I screamed.
My voice was unsteady from the impact he left on me.
But he didn't stop thrusting. He didn't stop railing me.
He sat up and continued rock his hips against me. I couldn't speak anymore. I just kept moaning. My head flung back while I shook from his strength.
He pushed me down to the bed and pressed my thighs to my sides while he rammed into me unendlessly.
I left incoherent sounds as I orgasmed. I don't know how many times my body shook from his dick. I don't even know how he could last this long.
I was going to pass out.
"B-Baby..." I say with little strength.
He tugged my legs to wrap his waist and I heard him groan. His length twitched and I knew he was cumming.
"OH FUCK!" He yelled.
I felt his warm liquids entered me and my eyes shot open from the way it felt. I shook once more while he held onto me.
He collapsed on top of me and I held onto him. My eyes shut and I felt drained. His lips touched my cheek and I fell asleep.
The next thing I knew it was morning...
~
My blinds left the place dark, but I saw a bit of light sneak its way in. When I opened my eyes I found myself in my bed covered in a blanket.
My head felt blurry but I was able to recognize my room. I felt someone's arm wrap around me. I turned my body and saw the man whom I slept with.
Minghao laid next to me fast asleep. His bare body was close to mine. I felt myself get flustered remembering the events that happened.
I covered my face as I tried to regain my composure.
I attempted to leave his grasps, but he didn't budge. Instead, he pulled me in closer to him.
"Why run?"
My heart raced from the sound of his voice. It was deep and drowsy. His morning voice was too alluring. It was so charming and seductive. Even if I tried to forget it, I wouldn't be able to.
"You're awake." I stared at him.
He slowly opened his eyes to look at me.
"And you're trying to run away," he whispered.
He was too hot. I just woke up. I can't feel like this.
It's too early for this.
"I wasn't running away," I mutter. My eyes avoided his stares. "I was going to use the bathroom to clean myself up."
It wasn't an entire lie...
Minghao smirked and rest his head on his hand. "Really?"
He moved his other hand off me and motioned me to go. I stared at him with hesitation. He seemed too calm.
It bothered me how I didn't bother him. I was still embarrassed from last night. Yet here he was acting as if it was completely normal that we had sex even though we hated each other before that.
Or... somewhat hated.
I narrowed my brows at him. He stared at me with confusion.
I leaned my head on my hand and mimicked him.
"Since you seem so comfortable on this bed... I assume you don't want to shower with me?" I dare tease him.
I watched his eyes grow wide from my words. He face grew a bit red and he scowled at me.
"Jie, don't tempt me," his voice was dangerous low.
I smirked. "That was a yes or no question, so I'm taking that as a no."
I quickly got off the bed. I heard him get up as I almost got away. He pulled me back into the sheets and I fell into his arms.
He held me tightly.
"That's a yes, Jie," he tells me with an annoyed look. "That's a fucking yes!"
I smiled from his response and expression. I'm happy to know last night wasn't a fluke.
"Alright, Minghao," I gazed at him. "Or do you prefer Baby?"
His eyes widened upon hearing the endearing name that I used towards him from last night. He didn't answer me right away since he seemed to shock.
His face grew red and before he could response I rolled out of his grasp and got out of the bed. I got ready to run from him.
"You're too slow!" I tell him. "I'm just going to call you Minghao!"
I began to ran to the bathroom. I can hear him stumble as he tried to get off the bed. He was chasing after me.
"NO!" He yelled. "CALL ME BABY, DAMN IT!"
I laughed. It was strange to know I once hated this man. But now, when I see him or even hear his presence.
I can't help but crave him.

I recently got sucked into the TGCF fandom, and now I have a rabid story bunny on the loose in my head.
It's a reverse role fanfic, but the thing is, almosy every time I reverse a role, a name changes.
Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are reversed (of course)
Hua Cheng's name becomes Xu Hong (since he's part of the Xuli royal family. Original, I know). I realized that Xie Lians's official title, Xianle, doesn't fit Xu Hong, so I had to create a name for him: Ying Guan (Flower Crown -- just a rough translation since Chinese characters have more than one translation per character. Keep that in mind for the other names and titles)
Xie Lian becomes Fang Cheng (Beautiful City), though Ghost City's moniker is Hua Cheng (Flower City). Only people who don't know what it is call it Hua Cheng (sometimes locals will call it that to mess with humans). Fang Cheng is also nicknamed HuaHua by the locals (Hua Chengzhu when they're being really mischievous). They call him that (and the city that) because he's always covered in flowers and wraith butterflies, and the city is covered in flowers as well.
I'm still deciding on how they look.
I made Feng Xin, Xie Lian's maternal cousin. Qi Rong is Xu Hong's assistant (becomes Xuan Zhen when he ascends). Mu Qing is Xu Hong's guard (Nan Yang when he ascends).
He Xuan becomes He Sheng and the Water Master (Shui Shi Sheng). His little sister, He Baihe, becomes the Wind Master (Feng Shi Baihe).
Shi Wudu becomes Xuan Shui (mysterious waters), the equivalent of He Xuan.
Nangong Jie (former Ling Wen), was a female general of Xuli and ascends as Ming Guang Jiangjun after the Xuli rebellion -- that still happens, though Xuli doesn't officially falls until a century later.
Pei Ming was a shoemaker in Xuli, and he ascends as Ling Wen.
As you can tell, the three tumors are already a riot.
The hardest part comes in the form of Jun Wu. His original name (in this fic) is Wu Yong, and he never became a god. His wife, Wu Jianlan, did (goddes of forges -- Lin Long ((fine jade dragon)) ). Her new official title became Long Jun (Prosperous Lord) after she crowned herself as Empress.
I like everything I've made so far, but it's going to be a pain in the ass to write because of how the characters are going to change and thus the circumstances are going to change.
The fun part is when I go to post on AO3 and have to figure out the tagging, lmao. The relationship tags are going to make EVERYONE cringe, I can already tell.
If you guys have any ideas, feel free to add to this!

Mysterious Lotus Case Book
Year : 2023 | Country : CN | Nb of episodes: 40
My rate: 7/10
Synopsis :
Ten years ago, Li Xiang Yi, the master of the Sigu Sect, dominated with his superior swordsmanship and was a symbol of light in the martial arts world. However, he suddenly disappeared along with Di Fei Sheng, the leader of the Jinyuan Alliance, after they arranged to battle in the East Sea.
Ten years later, Li Lian Hua is a countryside doctor who travels dragging around a lotus tower. He accidentally becomes "famous" and gets pulled into the pugilistic world that he no longer wants to have any connections with. Fang Duo Bing, a passionate youth who dreams of becoming a hero, realizes that Li Lian Hua is not a simple man and vows to find proof that Li Lian Hua has been impersonating a famous doctor. Meanwhile, Di Fei Sheng, who has always regarded Li Xiang Yi as a fierce enemy, has also reemerged in the pugilistic world and recognizes that the unremarkable doctor Li Lian Hua is none other than Li Xiang Yi.
After a series of cases, Li Lian Hua, Di Fei Sheng and Fang Duo Bing gradually come to forge a deep friendship and join hands in solving mysterious cases to uphold justice.
Main cast :
Cheng Yi as Li Lianhua (voiced by Cheng Yi) / Li Xiangyi
Xu Wei Luo as Li Xiangyi (teen)
Xie Zi Mo (谢子墨) as Li Xiangyi (child)
Zeng Shun Xi as Fang Duobing (Fang Xiaobao)
Lu Jin Hao as Fang Xiaobao (young)
Xiao Shun Yao as Di Feisheng
Xu Jia Xi as Di Feisheng (young)
My thoughts on this drama :
From the reviews I had read online, this was supposed to be as good at The Blood of Youth. For me, it was not. Don't get me wrong! It is a very good drama. The overall absence of romance is a big plus (it's there in the background but has no direct impact on the story itself more than in a few flashbacks that I enjoyed skipping).
What bothered me most is that the second hero was such a dimwit. All muscle no brain. Yes he's pretty young and all, but that wannabe detective was just dumb. He relied completely on Lianhua's deduction before finding the solution to all cases (but still taking all credit for solving it heh...). It took a bit too long for the big reveal of the main lead's identity, and I found truly ridiculous that his old pals did not recognize him as soon as they saw him. He was pretty much walking out there looking the same as ten year prior, sometimes wearing a mask that hid nothing.... but that's a common trope in Cdramaland so.... Big thumb up to the redemption arc of the initial "villain". The friendship born of it was amazing to see, and I was very much rooting for more interactions between the three main characters. The side characters also did their job, adding drama and comic relief to the story. The backstory that unraveled slowly up to the finale was splendidly executed, and I felt terrible for Lianhua when he realized the whole truth. I have a small regret though: for a Wuxia drama, there weren't that many awesome fights, and the rare ones were so short they lacked impact.
Anyway, it  is still a good drama, Cheng Yi prove once again that he's a true talent of this generation, and I hope to see him take one more dramas and movies (no dumb romcom) to showcase his impressive capacity to show emotions with his eyes and micro expressions. He convinced me back in Immortal Samsara, now I'm just another fan...

Unshakable Faith (2023)
Episode 3 Breakdown
Nurse Bai befriends Officer Hongmei who in return encourages Nurse Bai to sing for the upcoming Experts Pledge Ceremony. Ji Danyang and Police Captain Chen find her practicing and the men banter at Officer Hongmei's expense.
Tumblr media
The sniper and accomplice plan to bomb the ceremony, and an explosion at the blasting site causes multiple injuries and an investigation brings to light a discrepancy of 5kg of missing explosives. For his help in the investigation, Ji Danyang negotiates terms with Officer Hongmei to some leniency in her constant shadowing of him, allowing him free reign at the factory and a 20m distance when offsite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The team of arriving experts have their train delayed while the police team investigate an AWOL explosives team member and check the rail lines for sabotage.
Tumblr media
Nurse Bai wants to help her new friends but wants to avoid more rumours, so she secretly gifts them traditional medicine by hiding it in their lunchboxes, but this backfires when Officer Hongmei causes a scene in the cafeteria. When the medicine is cleared as genuine, Officer Hongmei visits Nurse Bai to apologise and thank her, sharing some of her family's story with her and Dr Bai.
Tumblr media
......................................
Nurse Director Ge is our next favourite side character (Xu Baihui, who was also Fang Duobing's mother in Mysterious Lotus Casebook), seen stamping down the rumourmongering among the nurses and checking in on our popular math man after he donated blood for those wounded in the explosion.
Tumblr media
Li Xueyi gets his first math montage of the show, they've got to jazz it up somehow because calculus is far more of a mental superpower than a visual one.
Tumblr media
It's fun to see the friendships forming, you just know that Hongmei wont forget the jabs from Ji Danyang and Police Captain Chen, but oof, that scene in the cafeteria was just uncomfortable. Hongmei, please learn some tact, and soon.

Completed 'Surname' Polls
This is where I take several characters from different Chinese media (mostly cnovels and cdrama) and run a poll on which one is the 'best'. What does best mean? It's up to you! Whether you love them, are intrigued by their characters, love to hate them, or they're your '2 second blorbos whose personality you made up wholesale', these are all reasons for you to vote for your favs!
NB: the surnames are not exactly the same in all the cases, as often they will be a different character. I am, however, grouping them all together otherwise things got more complicated.
This post is for the polls which have finished running and can no longer be voted in (since I have realised that I'm quickly approaching the limit for hyperlinks in the original masterlist).
If you want to see the currently live polls, they can be found here

Misconceptions about Wu Zetian
MISCONCEPTION 1: Wu Zetian was favoured by Li Shimin.
This one is mostly due to the Empress of China C-drama. In reality, though Wu Zetian was given the art name 'Mei' by Li Shimin, he never promoted her during her twelve years in his back palace. Consort Xu Hui, who Li Shimin did notice, was promoted several times to the second rank.
This indicates that though Li Shimin might have liked her for a short period of time, she was not a long-term favourite.
MISCONCEPTION 2: Li Shimin didn't favour Wu Zetian because Wu Zetian had a strong personality, and he only liked gentle women.
This one is more widespread than Misconception 1, and even I used to believe this one.
This comes with another misconception, that Empress Zhangsun was a meek submissive obedient housewife who only knew how to please men. In reality, she was a skilled advisor and helped Fang Xuanling outline the Xuanwu Gate Incident.
As for Xu Hui, there is no record that indicates that she was particularly virtuous. The records focus on her intelligence, creative talent and ability to petition Li Shimin.
In reality, Wu Zetian likely just had bad luck. Most concubines would never be favoured, and she was simply a part of the 90% or so of concubines that weren't favoured. In fact, Li Shimin seemed impressed with her strong character, as Wu Zetian remarked that Li Shimin "praised her bravery" after the horse anecdote.
As well, during the 640s, only Princess Yang of Qi had any children, and Li Shimin had a lot to deal with. He was likely having fewer favourites, and he simply didn't have the time to favour many women.

Name: Fang Ono Species: Hunter (Slayer) Occupation: Hunter for Hire Age: 30 Years Old Played By: Elle Face Claim: Jessica Henwick
"Doesn’t matter who or what gets in my way: I’ll always come out on top."
Born in Singapore to a Chinese heiress and a British-Chinese engineer, Huifang Xu (徐慧芳) was orphaned at a young age when a car crash caused by a yōkai took from her the only family she ever knew.
They were on a vacation in Japan, which the family had been putting off for months because of her father’s busy schedule at work. It was actually Huifang herself who pleaded for them to go, only to regret her whims when the tragedy struck. Although she survived the accident, she would have been devoured by the creature, if not for the timely arrival of a local hunter named Hiroyuki Ono (小野廣之).
Inside the overturned car, Huifang watched the hunter efficiently slay the yōkai. After the intense fight, the hunter was surprised to find the girl, whom he later dropped at a police station with his local law enforcement contact, thinking she would then be reunited with relatives. Three days later, however, the same contact informed Ono that none of the relatives wanted the girl back.
Apparently, the girl’s familial relationships have always been terrible. Her father was already distant to his own family before he ever married her mother while her mother was disowned after she decided to marry her father instead of a wealthy heir to a family business in Singapore. None of her immediate relatives wanted to take her in because they believed she’s bad luck, a belief she would subconsciously ingrain in herself, preventing her from making new relationships easily and sabotaging current ones.
Thus, the hunter took it upon himself to adopt the orphaned foreigner. Under the older Ono’s tutelage, Huifang, now calling herself Keiho Ono (小野恵芳), became an efficient hunter, ridding Tokyo and even Osaka of dangerous yōkai. The father-and-daughter pairing were fast becoming a nightmarish problem for the local monsters, which was why they enlisted help from an outsider, a monstrous gaijin, that was more than Hiroyuki’s match. Keiho could only hold her mentor, her father, in her arms as he breathed his last, promising to avenge him despite his wish for her to stay safe.
Through their contacts, she later found out where her father’s killer had disappeared to: Wicked's Rest, Maine. Using a shortened form of her birth first name, Fang, with her adoptive Japanese last name, Ono, she made her way to the other side of the world, shacking up with an old friend, Sara Fukuhara, at Harborside, intending to track down the undead that killed Hiroyuki and fulfill her promise of revenge.
But that was five years ago.
Huifang Xu Keiho Ono Fang Ono has failed in her crusade. Her father’s killer had long been dead, exterminated by another hunter, the news of which was brought to her too late. With nowhere else to go, Fang decided to stay in town, offering her services, the only set of skills she believes she has that’s worth any amount of money, to anyone and everyone.
What else was she going to do? Get a job at the boathouse? Become a fisherman? Nah, she’d rather make (un)life a living hell for the creatures that destroyed her life and get paid doing just that. It is what it is.
Character Facts:
Personality: Greedy, inconsistent, unpredictable, anarchic, independent, dynamic, self-confident, individualistic
She was born in Singapore to a Chinese heiress and a British-Chinese father, but when they died in a car crash due to an accident involving a yōkai while on vacation in Japan, she was adopted by local hunter Hiroyuki Ono (小野廣之) who saved her. Fang has since taken his last name.
Her birth name is Huifang Xu (徐慧芳) but she changed her name to Keiho Ono (小野恵芳) while living with her late adoptive father in Tokyo. She is currently using a shortened form of her birth first name, Fang, with her adoptive Japanese last name, Ono.
Non-supernatural strangers tend to refer to her as Huifang or Keiho while the more supernatural circles, such as fellow hunters and her victims, know her simply as Fang, sometimes exaggerated as the Fanged Oni.
She currently lives with an old friend, Sara Fukuhara, on the second floor of the latter’s electronics repair shop, Fukuhara Electronics, at Harborside. Sara’s shop employs two other women: Micaella Kikuchi and Nobu Aoki, who are both curious at how Fang survives without a day job but are too hesitant to delve deeper. Only Sara knows the truth about Fang being a hunter because one of Sara’s close relatives was also a hunter.
As a hunter, her weapon of choice is a katana with an oni hilt that her enemies had named the Oni’s Fang, though she is also well-versed in the usage of an ōdachi and a tantō. She has a naginata displayed in her room, which was given to her by Hiroyuki, supposedly a family heirloom.
She also wears a face mask that resembles an oni’s lower face when out hunting. Apparently, this was its whole thing back in Japan with Hiroyuki and a few others.
She has a dragon tattoo over her right arm. Do not ask about it. She won’t answer you anyway.
She has a soft spot for seafood, especially butter crab and sashimi. She also loves oden and has a personal tradition of eating chikuzenni every new year.

Early Mid-Autumn Festival: Sweet Tangyuan Little Daoist
This latest shipment of figs all seems to be JZEUniverse, which is just fine by me - I have a special place in my heart for these figs!
This sparkly-eyed, heart-eyed little Daoist priest is of course Gong Jun's Dong Fang Yuechu from Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Yue Hong.
Tumblr media
The inspiration for this fig, as in many others of the figs we have of Yuechu so far, comes from behind the scenes shots during filming.
Tumblr media
It's a little hard to see, but if you zoom in you can see the bowl of tangyuan in front of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, the watermark says, Junzhe is Always in Love.
Tumblr media
Since these pics are pretty far away, here's a closeup so you can see the top pattern of his robes and also his guan.
Tumblr media
This fig was limited to 850 and sold out in less than a minute. And that was slow compared to the other Yuechu fig sold at the same time (Early Mid-Autumn Festival: Moon Rabbit Lantern Daoist, stay tuned for that one!), which sold out in seconds. Those were some wild times!
Tumblr media
Our hungry little Daoist arrived toting his own bench with him. Like many fig benches and chairs, this one arrived pre-worn in and ready for fig tush to go in fig seat.
Tumblr media
I tried propping him up in the chair, but he slid right out. I tried some putty, which wasn't sticky enough, and then some museum wax, which worked perfectly.
Tumblr media
Here he is, happily eating away! I love his big happy mouth and smiling heart eyes.
Tumblr media
This is a great angle to see the pattern on his robes. You'll also notice that his asymmetric guan has the long tall spire on it on one side only. The hair sticking up on the other side is just that, hair sticking up - the character Yuechu is identifiable by his two individual hairs that stand up on his head.
Tumblr media
I think it's cute that his feet don't touch the ground - mine sure don't when I sit on benches!
Tumblr media
Sometimes I spin them one way, sometimes the other way. I just realized I'm not very consistent! I guess it doesn't matter as long as you get the full views all the way around, right?
Tumblr media
He's all hair and a little bench from this back angle! You can see how one side of his guan is his guan, and one side is his two standing hairs.
Tumblr media
Another hair-forward pic here. This looks a lot like A-Xu's hairstyle, doesn't it?
Tumblr media
Those are some cute little boots!
Tumblr media
Alright, coming back around. You can see his little bowl of tangyuan here too.
Tumblr media
And we're back! This an even better view of his bowl and treat. You can also see the drape of his shawl collar on his inner robe here, and this is a nice view of his guan. Although not as nice as this view...
Tumblr media
There you go! This is a very difficult guan to render in fig form - a complex asymmetrical free-form metal design is complicated! Kudos to the fig maker for taking a very solid go at it. I can't wait to see his costume and the guan in the show. The light violet oval in the hair crown looks like a beautiful sparkling jewel in the actual still.
You already got the bottoms-up shot earlier in this post, so let's move to the box card:
Tumblr media
And happily, this set came with a box sleeve design as well! No plain white boxes here!
Tumblr media
In the epic tradition of fig box spoilers, here you go! All of these figs are making their way across the ocean to me now, so you'll see allll these Yuechus at some point! Look forward to it please - I am!
Material: Resin
Fig Count: 265
Scene Count: 19
Rating: Sweet as sugar!

Happy STS!
Does your WIP have a theme song? If so, what is it? What about your main characters or main relationships? Choose one song each to represent them!

Happy STS!
Honestly I don't do a lot with music. I don't make playlists for my stories or my characters. But behold, my ABBA Extravaganza, because I do pick an ABBA song for each of them. (And also, just sometimes, Fall Out Boy. But 97% of the time it's ABBA so that's what I'm giving you here).
The Deadlands
Marghe & Genevieve - Ring Ring
The Desert of Claw and Fang
