The (Almost) Perfect Day feat. everyone's favorite King of Kyrat

It was weird to not hear screaming, gunshots or even the occasional dynamite exploding in the background. For the first time in, what was it? Well it was Thursday so…

For the first time in an astounding six and a half hours, it was quiet. One could even hear the birds without having to shush or shoot people in the vicinity, whichever got them to keep it the fuck down first.

Pagan sat at the head of the dining table, expecting to see fire rain down or what other poetic visual you could compare the backdrop of a raging civil war to, yet there was absolutely nothing.

Nada. Zip.

He might as well had been in, I don’t know, Hawaii or something. Even Yuma reported a whopping figure of only three prisoners captured that morning, and that was only because they fucking tried to sneak into the prison to rescue their friends.

Hilarious. 

And with Eric making all of his public appearances and touring around the different forts in Kyrat, Pagan was actually free to relax, not having to manage anything behind the scenes.

Because there was nothing to manage. It was just so damn… He laughed. He couldn’t even say it.

Peaceful!

Ha, there!

Peaceful and Kyrat? Two things that shouldn’t even be in the same essay, let alone in the same fucking sentence. 

Pagan glanced at the television in front of him, seeing his body double wave at the Royal Army and shake hands with the superior officers. Hmm, it seemed the camera did add ten pounds.

Note to self, have Eric lose ten pounds.

Maybe twelve to be safe.

The chef arrived with the delicious-smelling Crab Rangoon and Pagan’s first instinct was to glare at him. He tapped on his wrist impatiently, obviously not actually on his watch. That thing cost a fucking fortune.

“There you are!” he yelled. “Where have you been? You’re already five minutes lat- wait hang on.”

Either he had to fire his watchmaker and go through the trouble (AKA ask Yuma to do it) of finding a new one, or, and this one clearly couldn’t be the right answer…

The chef was actually on fucking time.

The chef - JR or something or other - smiled all weasel-y at Pagan as he carted the Crab Rangoon to the head of the table and placed it in front of the self-proclaimed King. “It’s still fresh,” he said quite nervously and honestly, what was there to be so nervous about?

Hesitantly, Pagan reached out to the still steaming and delicious smelling Crab Rangoon like how one would approach a dinosaur they wanted to pet.

At least, that's what he thought approaching a dinosaur would be like. Elephants he could pet without worry. But a fucking t-rex? 

Hmmm note to self: find a Jurassic Park scientist.

Anyway where was he? Ah yes! Crab Rangoon!

He took a small piece - and wow it was still hot! - and popped it into his mouth.

He chewed.

And chewed.

And oh heavens, yep. Yeah, that was good Crab Rangoon.

He didn't even realize he'd scooped up some more on his plate and was already reaching for the rice.

Yeah, Eric was definitely going to have to make more appearances for him, at least until the real Pagan got some exercise in.

Which reminded him to hire a trainer. 

He loved Yuma, she was an angel, but he wasn't going to ask her to do it after the last time he brought her along as his, quote unquote gym buddy. They would not have a remake of the treadmill incident. He still shivered just thinking about it.

He gobbled up his meal quickly and topped it off with some fresh orange juice. Ha, see! He could be healthy.

He used the napkin to carefully wipe his mouth and only then did he realize that the chef was still in the room with him!? 

Pagan blinked at the man who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but around him. Oh the silly man, he was basically invited to the cool kids table. He should be honored!

Pagan gave a boisterous laugh. "This was an excellent meal, my good sir! Give my compliments to the chef, which, you know, in this case is you!"

The man gave this little hesitant squeaky laugh that reminded Pagan of a mouse and oh my God he still needed to talk to Gary about setting up mouse traps around his room.

"T-thank you, sir," the man squeaked out.

Pagan waved his hand. "Well go on, you're dismissed. No dessert for today." Look at him, on a diet already!

The chef bowed before taking the plates and carting them off quicker than the Golden Path retreated during raids.

Alone once more, he pondered on how much of a damn relaxing day he had. One in a million really. Not one of those "I'm taking a day off but I still need to work" days, it was just… quiet.

Pagan hummed thoughtfully before deciding to stand from his seat. He did hear standing after a heavy meal helped stop bloating for the day. Hopefully not another lie he read on some fitspo's Instagram post.

He breathed in the air of Kyrat. Quiet, unpolluted with the sounds of gunfire Kyrat. 

And he smiled, a genuine one this time.

For all the days Kyrat chose to leave him in peace, it had to be that day, huh?

Taking a deep breath, Pagan took one last look at the clear blue sky of his kingdom before walking. He had a date to keep, after all.

So with no one around to bother him, he stopped by his little angel's shrine, bringing a fresh bouquet of flowers with him, pink and purple in color.

He placed it on the altar, pausing to stare at Lakshmana's portrait.

He had several others with him but this one… She looked exactly like the royal princess she was always meant to be.

"The only thing that would make this day perfect was if you and your mother were here to celebrate it with me." Pagan whispered. "Happy birthday, my darling."

Self-Indulgent Sunday

Tagged by @shallow-gravy (ty💜) to share something I might be proud of....and since it's self indulgent, I'll share a wip I've shared a sneak of, but have finally finished.

Whitehorse finally took her out on a call, at Boshaw Manor of all places. When they arrived, Sharky Boshaw, the local pyromaniac, according to his mile long file, was dancing sans pants, on the roof of his trailer, firing a gun and blowing up gas jugs littered around his property.

As they approached, Boshaw put away his gun, and hollered.

"Get the fuck outta here johnny law. I know my rights, I ain't doin' nothin' wrong!"

Loralai couldn't help but chuckle. Here was a grown ass man, blowing shit up in a hoodie and undies, telling them to fuck off. Clearly he has balls, she thought giving him a once over. Whitehorse gives her a pointed look and shakes his head.

"Just responding to a call Boshaw. Now do I have to remind you of the noise ordnance, or would you like to spend a night down at the county jail?" He put his hand on his handcuffs, while tilting his head to the side, awaiting an answer.

"Sir, no sir!" Boshaw salutes with a middle finger and shot off another round.

"I mean it Boshaw! If I get another call today I'll come back and set you on fire myself. Rook, write him a citation and let's get the hell outta here." Whitehorse let out an exasperated sigh, grumbling about retirement as he walked back to his truck.

Flipping out her pen and pad she began writing the ticket. She didn't know him but he seemed suspiciously quiet. "Cat got your tongue all the sudden?" She inquired. When he didn't respond she quirked a brow. "Nothing? Seriously?" He still didn't answer so she pulled herself onto the roof of the trailer.

"You know I feel like I've lived here forever, truth is it's only been...a few months maybe." She notices him staring from under his hat. Satisfied to have his attention, she continues.

"I've never been to this neck of the woods. Most my visits to Hope county before moving here were to the f.a.n.g center, or hoofin it through the trails in the mountains." She paused a moment, curious why she was evening rambling. "Anyway, I just wanted to say you seem entertaining. I mean I don't know yo-"

"Entertaining, right. Something tells me that's not a compliment coming from someone like you." He scoffs, removing his hat to run his fingers through his hair and pulling over the lawn chair to sit. "Just go ahead, write me a ticket. It'll burn like the rest of 'em."

She noticed his eyes now that his hat was off, then her eyes travelled to his flame tattoo, which brought her eyes to his bare thighs. 'Right, he's not wearing pants. Is it hot- shit I'm staring.' She cleared her throat and scratched out what she had started writing, replacing it with her number instead.

"I'll ignore whatever that's suppose to mean. Maybe just this once, you should read the ticket before you decide to burn it. Enjoy your evening, Mr. Boshsaw." She said giving him a wink.

Loralai jumped down from the roof, looking back over her shoulder as she reached the truck. When she got in Whitehorse did not look amused. "What the hell took so long? And what was that about Rook?" He asked mimicking her wink.

Oh, so he saw that. "Nothing, told him I left my number on the ticket, but really it says dear dumbass, go fuck yourself." She let the partial lie slip right off her tongue. As the sheriff turned the truck around, Boshaw yelled. "Yo shorty are you for serious!!?"

Whitehorse let out a bark of laughter, "Good one Rook. Let's note, this stays off the record. He'll be back to his antics in a day or two. Normally I'd arrest him for what happened back there, but...you'll learn that sometimes it's just better to walk away."

Semi-Permanent Hiatus

I legit don't know if I can handle this anymore, I thought I could stick it out to the end of the year, but holy shit.

I don't blame Brett or Aleks at this point, nor most of the former members, but I don't know if I can continue to participate with how toxic the fandom (and some of the former creators even like omg) has become.

I am going to be emptying my queue and just closing up shop for now. I would never delete this blog willingly, but I can't see myself participating very much anymore. However, I am still participating in the CC secret Santa, and so that will be posted sometime around Christmas. I signed up for it, and I am going to complete it.

If I see any more news about the state of Cow Chop/big announcements, I will be sure to reblog it, but as of this moment I am moving to a semi-permanent hiatus.

I will probably still watch the videos as they come out, so if you would ever like to talk about Cow Chop, I will always be willing to do so. I only ask that you do it in the form of non-anonymous questions or through the chat feature here so we can talk privately, I would hate to annoy my remaining followers with constant anons lol.

Sorry guys. I will still be over at Alphatwohaywood for Misc. Roosterteeth content, and Closecry for Far Cry content if either of those interest you. I am also still active on my Instagram, Ein_chop.
