When I'm putting together a project and I need to fill it with content that doesn't exist yet, I usually turn to the tried and true Lorem Ipsum generator. But sometimes, I want to have a little fun with my projects.

So here's a list of 60+ text generators (in alphabetical order) to zhuzh up your projects. Just don't be like me and forget to replace them with something appropriate when you share them with the world (a mistake I will likely continue to make).

Note: the following blocks of text are all pre-generated. Some of them may be offensive, though I am by no means endorsing any of them! They're just examples of of what these tools generate and I’m too lazy to edit.

i have a book in the works that involves a lot of mixed media. for example, a page with a newspaper format, and another with words written in a specific corner of the page (thing house of leaves).when querying, how do i show that a certain page should be in a certain format/newspaper format/irregular format and needs some sort of graphic design work? should i have my own designs at the ready? should i make it clear in the letter?

Querying an Epistolary Novel

This is a great question! First, no... you do not need to have your own designs at the ready. If you get a book deal, the book's art (which includes epistolary elements) will be taken care of by the publisher's art department, either by an in-house designer or a contracted artist.

Before you query your epistolary novel, you will need to format placeholders for the graphical epistolary elements into your manuscript. I looked but could not find information about best practice there. I would suggest something along the lines of this:

Unless you're able to find anything otherwise, that should be sufficient for getting the epistolary elements across to the agent. To query an epistolary novel, you will include "epistolary novel" as one of the genres in the query letter. You would also mention that it's epistolary in the introduction or "housekeeping" portion of your query letter, so for example, something like:

Dear [Agent's Name], I am sending you my query for BOOK TITLE, a young adult contemporary epistolary novel complete at 62,000 words...

There is no other place where you need to mention the epistolary elements in your query, as the point of the query letter is to get the agent interested in the actual story, not what devices you'll use to tell it.
