Trying out one of my new Christmas present tension rings and suddenly the way everyone else crochets (mine usually looks like a left handed knitter is trying to crochet) is much easier to do!
Also starting to understand why all those tik tok crocheters can craft at the speed of light now.
From the original pile of colours (22) we’re now down to 8 to finish this thing off, not bad!

This c2c crochet lap blanket is folded in half, but the rainbow just keeps going lol
When my niece saw it, when it wasn’t yet complete, she told me it was for her.
So. It was for her! I finished the c2c stitches, crocheted an edge around it to finish it off and handed it over the next time I went by my brother’s place.

Merry Christmas, @the-honk! I was your WoT secret Santa!
To fulfill a request of Siuan/Moiraine angst, I kinda went in the opposite direction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a crochet corner to corner piece inspired by a pixel form of Aes Sedai my sister and I designed for cross-stitch. We hosted a cross-stitch class at JordanCon this year and shared this pattern with other WoT fans! Cross-stitch and corner to corner are so similar that this seemed a fitting way to show off some Siuan/Moiraine love!
To highlight a few items, I based Siuan’s design off the image of Sophie Okonedo in the golden outfit in the Hall of the Tower. In the show, her Amyrlin stole was more of a hint in the colors of the collar, but I included the actual stole (Red, Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown, and White).
Tumblr media
Moiraine is also sporting her kesiera—a custom observed by Cairhienen nobles.
Tumblr media
The piece is rather small so can be a tapestry on a wall, a table runner, a pet blanket, to name a few.
Tumblr media
I love how it turned out (though it’s far from perfect). It was such fun to create this piece!
I hope you love it, too!

NEW Bean Stitch Corner to Corner C2C Stitch
Looking for a stitch that looks like a bubble wrap? The Bean Stitch Corner to Corner feels just like it. The stitch that Mikey has developed creates thick beans between the gridwork of the corner-to-corner concept. The bean stitch used has 5 steps, but you can reduce your bean stitch that is talked about in the tutorial not to be as thick. Once you get this concept, making the beans is pretty…

Giraffe Corner to Corner Crochet Baby Blanket
Corner to corner seems to be on everyone's minds in the crochet word currently. The question is, how? I have seen so many advanced beautiful creations with this technique. Here is a much simpler one that can be used as a tutorial for any corner-to-corner masterpiece you choose!
Each square is a slip stitch into your chain 2 chain space, then chain 2, then 3 half double crochets
Each increase and the start of your project will be a chain 5 and half double crochet into each chain to the bottom for a total of three half double crochets
Each decrease is a turn, and then slip stitch into each stitch at the top of your square until you slip stitch into the chain space. Then do your square as usual (chain 2, 3 half double crochet)
For the puff stitch border, chain 3 with your desired border color, then half double crochet into the next stitch (with enough distance for each puff, this will be up to your discretion). Make sure that all of the loops of this half-double crochet are pulled loose to match the height of your last puff. Then you will pretend to do three half-double crochets around the back of the post. (DO NOT PULL THREW UNTIL YOU HAVE SEVEN LOOPS ON YOUR HOOK) Pull threw all seven loops and admire your puff.
Was that hard for you to follow? No worries, here is a YouTube tutorial that I put together just for you ;)

This is the graph I created/followed for this beautiful pattern, which is also pictured below.

And it’s time to put it all together!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used the join as you go method I learned from Jayda in Stitches. Instead of the traditional three double crochet (granny square) cluster, I did two double crochets.
https://m.youtube.com/c/JaydaInStitches
I added a multicolor border using the same two double crochet cluster.

It turned out more beautiful that I imagined! And it’s huge!
