Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Count Dregon and his Generals

A prince from a peaceful planet. Twin nobles from a desert world. All three exiled from their homes, all three bent on revenge on those that wronged them. Meet Count Dregon, Nefaria and Scorpina!

Background and story stuff under the cut!

Dregon, formerly Prince Rex of Edenoi, believes in Edenoi's old ways of warfare and conquest. He was banished from the planet years ago for instigating an uprising against his peaceful father, King Lexian, that left his face scarred. Now clad in a golden mask and armor, he has conquered Edenoi after decades away and now sets his sights on Earth to follow his nephew Dex, the newest Masked Rider and sole survivor of the royal family. Dregon's ultimate goal is to claim the Masked Rider powers for himself, his birthright.

Nefaria and Scorpina were formerly members of one of the desert planet Lamari's noble houses. The two were mischievous and cunning, committing petty theft and assault often to test the limits of what they could get away with. That is until Scorpina stole three golden bands from a wealthy crime boss, the enchantment on them cursing her left arm with a disfigurement that would be hard to cover up. Instead of covering for them this time, their family heads cast them out to salvage what little reputation they could.

Years later, the two encountered Dregon in a shady saloon, telling him of their story - with some embellishments to guarantee his pity and net them some credits for the week. Dregon did take pity, but instead of simply giving them a few credits and sending them on their way, he allowed them to stay on his ship. The only condition being they must lend their skills to his growing army of Insectivores.

The twins accepted, with Dregon's army growing in number and power over time, eventually strong enough to invade Lamari. And invade they did, conquering the planet with little resistance. Dregon allowed Nefaria and Scorpina the opportunity to personally execute the families that wronged them, save for the crime boss. The one who had owned Scorpina's cursed bands had already fled far, far away, deep into space prior to the invasion.

The twins declared themselves the Queens of Lamari, appointing Dregon the title of Count. The trio then continued their conquest across the galaxy, crushing all who would defy them.

My ideas for the other Showa Kamen Riders.

Since my idea for my fan version of the first Kamen Rider show was so long I had to make my ideas for the other Showa Kamen Riders.

V3 is going to be Tri, and it's going to be another Edenoi season with Tri being the son or grandson of Battanor.

X is Crosser which is an Earth season where the Rider is a survivor of Atlantis.

Amazon is going to be Repton ties into my version of Sun Vulcan in that they both take place in an ancient animal worshipping civilization called Jungala.

I haven't thought up stories for them other than Stronger is going to be Voltar which is an Edenoi season, Skyrider is Soar which is an Earth season and Super-1 is Supremeo which is an Edenoi season.

Black is going to be Bio, and the idea there is it would have the monster plots from Black and the civilian plots from Saban's Masked Rider, and it would have the civilian characters from Saban's Masked Rider.

I would either make the Edenoi characters humans and change their names like making King Lexian into Professor Lexington Stewart, Donais, Zarius, and Farian into Donnie, Sarah and Fabian, and Count Dregon's real name would be Dr. Richard Stewart.

Black RX would be Bio Solar it would essentially be Bio season 2, alternatively Black RX would just be Solar which would be a separate season from Bio about the rebellion on Edenoi and all of the Edenoi characters would be the same.

Emboldened by there once again being stock footage to work with from the Kamen Rider series, Saban Entertainment creates a sequel to 1995's Masked Rider, this new series premieres in 2001 alongside Power Rangers Time Force, and from here our cursed timeline begins, as the legacy of the Masked Rider enjoys its ride alongside its Sentai-based bretheren.

2001- MASKED RIDER EXTREME

Prince Dex may have defeated the forces of Count Dregon and saved the world, but now a new ancient threat, from Earth's ancient catacombs, has awakened! It is up to a new hero to inherit the Masked Rider powers, now more versatile and more extreme than ever before, to tackle this new threat!

2002- MASKED RIDER TRINITY

In the aftermath of Masked Rider Extreme's final battle, people around the world are suddenly awakening Ectophase-based powers! Some are corrupted into terrible monsters who must be stopped by those who've held onto their hearts and follow in the Masked Rider legacy to become A NEW TEAM of heroes!

This Season was the first to be made by Disney, having inherited its pre-production phase much like they did with Power Rangers Wild Force >:)

2003- MASKED RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT

Because I'm lazy I'm just gonna say this went roughly like how our timeline's Kamen Rider Dragon Knight went. Basically just uhh... if Dragon Knight was filmed in New Zealand instead of whereever the fuck it was filmed. Oh yeah, and Xaviax comes from mirror universe's Edenoi, instead of Planet Karsh.

2004- MASKED RIDER ZERO

The Smart Brain corporation is on the cutting edge of technology, but one day, an experimental scanner goes awry, transforming a local artist's pencil sketches into monsters! Smart Brain selects a candidate to don their experimental Ectophase-based gear, and erase the peril as their prototype warrior, Masked Rider Zero!

Now they must hone their musical skills and rise to the level of a whole organization of musical wilderness heroes, the Masked Riders!

2007- MASKED RIDER OPERATION HYPERSPEED

Planet Earth is under attack by evil shapeshifting aliens! And in the event they're uncovered, they have access to Ectophase-based hyperspeed. But ZECT is an organization that's known about them, and have been working on a counter, thanks to reverse-engineering tech from a mysterious benefactor. Now they just have to recruit a new team of Riders to fight this threat!

Also btw it's revealed the ZECT Rider suits were reverse engineered... from the Beetleborgs lol

2008- MASKED RIDER SERPENTINE

Because trains are apparently not popular in the US, Disney tries to pass off the Den-Liner as a powerful robotic serpent. The serpent and her minions are just one of many powerful beings who wish to conquer earth, but our main guy tricks the minions into taking over the world, through heroism! To save the world, our hero must keep up a balancing act until he can convince his tricky benefactors to fight for good, for real!

2009- MASKED RIDER MOONLIGHT

Going for broke, this series mixes the Masked Rider heroics with trying-to-get-a-piece-of-the-Twilight-pie teen drama. Unlike with its Power Rangers counterpart, RPM, the production doesn't come together and ends incomplete.

2010- MASKED RIDER (Re-versioned)

The classic Masked Rider with silly effects and censorship ONLY ON ABC KIDS!!!

2011- MASKED RIDER DECADE

Saban Brands buying their stuff back from Disney includes this ever-classic series, and in the rush to make the new season for Nickelodeon, they basically just do a direct translation of Kamen Rider Decade, with some tweaks such as haphazardly replacing Kamen Rider names and references with Masked Rider ones, censorship, and also comedy segments with the return of Ferbus!

2012- MASKED RIDER DUO

The series gets booted to Nicktoons, and so low on budget, it's a pretty basic reshoot/adapation of Kamen Rider Double's first half.

2013- MASKED RIDER DUAL DUO

The second half of Double adaptation. In keeping with how Toei staggered whennew Rider premieres and when Sentai premieres, Saban follows suit by turning Masked Rider to also use Power Rangers' 2-year model! Basically it's a straight adaptation of Double's second half.

2014- POWER RIDER

A shady scientist tries to recreate the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' power coins, via Ectophase-based technological innovations. But the new power coins... are alive, infused with the spirits of animals. All of whom swiftly decide it's time to conquer Earth! But the ever-tricky Ectofalcon has a trick up his sleeve, he's chosen a sucker-I mean, hero, to bestow a fraction of power to, to defeat the rest!

2015- SUPER POWER RIDER

In the second season of Power Rider, the scientist has perfected his process, and successfully created dinosaur-based Power Coins! Our heroes will have to step up their game, and even use some of these new coins for themselves, in order to win this!

Includes a big crossover to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Masked/Power Rider series!

2016- POWER RIDER FRESH!

Wow who would've guessed they'd skip series here too? When an evil alien gang suddenly takes over the world, a group of teens, with the help of a defector, gain armor that fuses alien tech with Earthly fruits! With these powers, they fend off the powerful aliens. Their hometown is now the last hope for humanity! A different, yet still just as exciting season as it's source series!

2017- POWER RIDER SUPERFRESH!

The Fresh Riders have been protecting the last city on Earth for a while, and it's revealed that the defector has been playing both sides, this was all a sort of game and test for everyone involved. Things begin to fall into a state of chaos, yet still unnatural calm, punctuated by many standalone monster-of-the-week style episodes.

2018- POWER RIDER FUSE

The humans of Earth have been experimenting with Ectophase for a while. But unbenownst to them, the Earth's phase is one day reversed, fracturing the Earth with impassable walls, and corrupting a group of powerful robots, who get to work building a robotic army to make humanity pay for meddling too far, making too many Riders. But one scientist has devised a method to still manage to (somewhat) safely become a Power Rider, using a system of Power Fuses, that can process and harness the evil power. But can he overcome almost insurmountable odds?

2019- POWER RIDER FUSE: CHARGED

Power Rider Fuse has slowly built up a network of allies, some even with Rider powers, including even turning some of the evil robots' Riders to the side of good! But the robots have finished developing their ultimate lifeform, a bioweapon capable of harnessing Ectophase power so corrupted, it can create black holes! The Riders, and all of Earth, have never faced a challenge like this!

This is the first season under Hasbro, but it's overall still a continuation of the previous season so

2020 & 2021- POWER RIDER: END OF TIME

Hasbro decides they have enough on their plate and want to focus on rebooting Power Rangers, so they decide to end Power Rider with a final 2 seasons. For the most part, they find a crew that adapts Zi-O into something that's for once, not a total production mess, and ties off a lot of continuity loose ends.

In the far, far, future, a descendant of Edenoi's royal family begins to have dreams of the Masked and Power Riders. But they haven't existed for ages, a relic of an era bygone. But one day, a watch from his dream becomes real, and when he activates it, he's transported back in time! To the very time period when the time of the Riders ended! Now he seeks to stop whatever calamity happened to wipe out every last Rider, but little does he suspect that if he's not careful... that calamity may be... himself?

and then uh.... Toei gets the rights back and they reach a deal to sub various past Kamen Rider series much like in our timeline, so everything from here just uh.... goes the same as our timeline thanks for reading this super-long shitpost byeeeeeee

Authors note: I’ve been in a writing slump and very uninspired recently so I was so excited when I saw this last night!

She remembers the day very clearly.

It was a Tuesday afternoon, she arrived at the gym to work on a bar routine with Kimberly. After a about an hour the rest of Kimberly’s friends sat at a table nearby watching the two girls practice.

“He’s staring at you,” Kimberly smiled at her friend, who blushed when she made eye contact with Adam Parks. 

“It’s because I’m doing a handstand on a balance bar Kim,” she dismissed quickly.

Kim scoffed and rolled her eyes, “No it’s because he thinks you’re hot, and he told me that part so you can’t deny it.”

(Y/n) felt her cheeks grow hot as she slowly let herself down from the bar. Before she could respond Kimberly’s watch beeped.

“Ope, sorry I have to go take care of something. Same time tomorrow?” she asked.

“Of course,” (Y/n) said. They left as (Y/n) was grabbing her bag to go home. She began her 10 minute walk home when she was suddenly teleported in a beam of light to a strange building with a man in a glass case. And a talking robot. 

Being told that she needed to become the purple ranger was not what she expected on a Tuesday afternoon. What confused her even more was that she wasn’t allowed to tell the other rangers for a while. Zordon never explained it thoroughly so she didn’t really understand why it had to be a secret.

The first time she officially suited up was when the rangers were sent to the planet Edenoi to help fight Count Dregon. (Y/n) was called in to help as Kimberly was sick and couldn’t fight alone.  The pink ranger was very confused when a flash of purple showed up to battle.

 Zordon came through her communicator, “Kimberly, the purple ranger is here to help you in this battle.”

“Thanks Zordon,” Kimberly said, she sneezed for the 100th time that day before turning to her new companion, “Hey so I’ll try my best to help out but I really really hope you can hold your own.”

“Don’t worry about it, Zordon told me you were sick,” (Y/n) said. 

“I’m here to slurp and burp up Angel Grove!” the monster yelled.

“Yeah well you’re making a big green mistake if you think that you can- ACHOO! Excuse me, where were we?” Kimberly said.

“We were just about to kick this green booger to the curb,” (Y/n) said as they got into a fighting stance.

And with a battle yell they ran into battle.

The fight took a little longer than expected, but in the end the monster ended up catching Kimberly’s cold and running away. 

“Hey we did awesome!” Kimberly said, she turned around to try and talk to her new team mate but found no one there, “Huh, where’d she go?”

The alarm went off on her watch and (Y/n) morphed before being teleported into battle again. 

Kimberly was already battling the monster when the purple ranger showed up. They dodged hits and played attacks off of each other. Working seamlessly as a team. 

Soon enough the rest of the team showed up and (Y/n) couldn’t be more relieved. 

“We need thunderzord power, now!”

The battle of a rough one. (Y/n) shadowed Tommy in his Shogun zord so she could learn the controls, and Tommy was more than happy to help. The rest of the rangers were very confused to see a seventh ranger on the battlefield but after seeing her fight they were glad they had the extra help. By the end of it (Y/n) and the rangers were teleported back to the command center. 

“Welcome rangers, this promises to be a momentous occasion. You are about to meet the newest member of your team. Lord Zed and Rita have been relentless in their pursuit to destroy planet Earth, and it was after long debate that Alpha and I decided it was time to bring in a new ranger to support you in your battle. A new candidate was selected and a new power ranger was created. I apologize for being secretive, not only did we want you to see the potential of your new team mate, we needed to hide from Lord Zed’s interference. I now present to you, the purple ranger.”

The team turned and saw the ranger taking off their helmet.

They all gasped in disbelief, “(Y/n)?”

The rest of the team didn’t know how to respond to their new team member. Her and Kimberly had always been friends but mostly outside of the ranger group. She had never been introduced to them officially but they did know her name. 

Zordon gave them the assignment of team bonding. This led them to having a bonfire at Kimberly’s house. Rocky brought his guitar, Aisha brought things for smores, and Tommy and Adam started the large fire in the backyard. Blankets were laid out and smores were being passed around. 

The girls sat on a blanket eating the snacks they brought with them while the boys chased a frisbee back and forth. Eventually they ended up in a dogpile on top of each other causing the girls to laugh at their struggle to get up. 

(Y/n) finally began to feel comfortable with the group, but Adam still felt distant from her. Shy smiled and small talk was exchanged but nothing ever extended past that. 

It was driving the others absolutely insane.

They all knew they liked each other. The teasing embarrassed the two shy rangers and no amount of pep talks in the world could get them to admit their feelings for each other. The group decided to devise a plan. 

Kimberly asked (Y/n) to go into the pantry to grab more graham crackers. She walked in and shut the door behind her before searching through all the boxes and cans of food. She was about to give up when the door opened again and Adam stepped in.

“Oh, what are you doing in here?” He asked.

“Kim sent me in here to get more graham crackers but I can’t find them.”

“That’s weird, she sent me in here to look for them too.”

The door closed behind them and they heard the lock turn.

“Hey!” Adam yelled.

“Let us out!” said (Y/n).

“Not until Adam tells (Y/n) what he was supposed to earlier,” Rocky giggled.

“This isn’t funny guys,” Adam said.

“It kinda is,” Kim said, “Come on (Y/n) just tell him and we’ll let you out.”

“No!” the girl shrieked.

Tommy sighed, “Suit yourselves then, we’ll be outside enjoying smores.”

“Guys don’t leave! It’s dark in here!” Adam yelled.

They heard the backdoor close and (Y/n) sighed before sliding down the wall. 

“What did Kim want you to tell me?” Adam asked her.

“What did Rocky want you to tell me?”

“.... that’s personal.”

“What? Do you not like me or something?” 

“No!” Adam said nervously.

“Then what?” 

“It’s embarrassing,” He sighed.

“Fine I won’t pry,” she put her hands up in mock defense. 

They stayed silent for a while before she finally says, “Come sit down, you're making me nervous.”

Adam’s cheeks turn red before he sits down on the floor beside the girl.

Adam checked his watch. Ten minutes. They’d been locked in ten minutes already. In his head he could hear Rocky from earlier telling him to man up and ask his crush out on a date.

“Do you remember when I first started at Angel Grove?” He said.

“Yeah, I gave you the tour that day.”

“That’s when my crush started. I thought if I ignored it it would go away, but it never really did. It got worse when I started hanging out with the gang because I’d watch you and Kimberly practice. I couldn’t stop myself from staring.”

“Kimberly is really pretty-” (Y/n) started.

“I wasn’t staring at her.”

“What?” 

“I wasn’t staring at her, I was staring at you (Y/n),” he finished. 

It was (Y/n)’s turn for her cheeks to flush red. In a flash of bravery she grabbed his hand and squeezed it. 

She took a deep breathe, “Kimberly has been telling me for months that I should’ve asked you out the first day. She was probably right. I wish I had sooner.”

His hand came up and cupped her cheek, pulling her to him and placing his lips on hers. After a few seconds they pulled away.

“I should’ve done that sooner,” Adam smiled.

The door swung open and the rest of the team began clapping loudly causing (Y/n) to hide her face in Adam’s shoulder. Adam just stared wide eyed and blushing. Eventually Tommy shoved them out the door back to the party to give the two some privacy.

And after a while of shy kisses and smiles they walked back outside hand in hand.

The Masked Rider

(King Dex in his prime on Edenoi) After the fall of King Kotami his transformation belt was retrieved however the damage to it was too severe, however the Alchemists managed to use shards from the gem to create a new transformation belt to be given to Prince Dex when he came of age. However fate had a different plan.

Years after the fall of King Kotami the evil Count Dregon and his Insectoid empire set their sight on Edenoi and began to attack it. The current king barely had time to give Dex the belt before he had to flee off world with his long time friend Ferbus (a creature Dex had saved as a child).

The prince's ship crashed in the hills outside a small town called Leawood however some of the grunts had followed him. While trying to fend off the Maggots a couple of Earthlings stumbled onto the scene. In order to defend them Dex transformed for the first time. However he felt unworthy of the title of Power Rider for his failure to defend his homeworld.

Dex was injured protecting the couple so they opened their home to him in gratitude and their family welcomed him with open arms. After informing them of his story they agreed to let him stay with them and help him adapt to Earth (Ferbus would make the hills his home).

After a news crew recorded one of his early battles against the Insectoid Empire they dubbed him "The Masked Rider" a title Dex accepted with pride.

"The people of this world have given me a new name, it is the name of the Insectoid Empire's greatest enemy. I AM THE MASKED RIDER!"

For months however Dex was haunted by guilt over what he saw as abandoning Edenoi to its fate. As his victories grew and with the help of the kindhearted Stewart Family he began to smile again and forgave himself. However he never lost track of his ultimate goal, to defeat the Insectoid Empire and set Edenoi free!

His grandfather soon sends aid in the form of two sentient vehicles. A motorcycle called the Combat Chopper and a car called Magno. Each of these has an insect form they can assume. At one point Dex even teams up with the Power Rangers

During some battles Dex faced overwhelming odds and was at the brink of doom when his father's spirit visited him to give him encouragement. These allowed Dex to unlock two new forms to combat his foes.

Masked Rider: Robo Gold form gives Dex highly advanced computers to assist in combat. It also drastically increases his physical strength and defense however at the cost of speed and maneuverability. His targeting software can pinpoint his enemies weak points.

Masked Rider: Liquid Blue form allows Dex to transform his body into living liquid and disperse himself to attack multiple foes at once. This form also drastically increases his speed and maneuverability however at the cost of strength and defense. Finally Dex confronts Count Dregon in a duel and manages to defeat him and destroy the Insectoid empire freeing his homeworld. Prince Dex returns to Edenoi along with his love Molly and assumes the throne. However before he can enjoy his victory he is confronted by his father's killer. The Shadow Rider managed to survive the final battle and demands a duel with Dex. After a brutal fight Dex avenges King Kotami and the Shadow Rider falls. The rule of King Dex is peaceful and the rebuilding process is completed quickly. For over a decade Edenoi and its people are at peace. Tragically the peace is shattered when the Stellar Empire descends upon Edenoi. Fortunately they had enough warning to begin evacuation however it is not enough. King Dex tells his queen and their son to flee and Ferbus swears to protect them. While they escape Ferbus gives his life to defend them. The king fights back against the approaching troops and manages to hold many of them back. However while saving the life of a child King Dex is attacked by a monster. Overwhelmed by increasing numbers of troops as well as this brutal monster King Dex falls... It takes an alliance of all the universes Riders to set Edenoi free and King Dex would be avenged by a rider from his adopted homeworld... When Prince Donais (named after a childhood friend of Dex) comes of age he plans to have the Alchemists combine the remains of both his grandfather and his father's transformation belts to honor them both as Masked Rider Rex (basically Rex with MR color scheme and form changes)... However the story of King Dex does not end here...

When we last saw King Dex of Edenoi he had fallen in battle against the Empire invasion. However this was not the end. His spirit survived after his death and advised heroes.

However the wicked

Captain Necruel

sought to use him to destroy the gathered heroes on Edenoi. Dex’s spirit was not returned to the body however and in order to be of use to him Necruel was forced to heal many of the wounds.

After the heroes defeated the reanimated body the royal alchemists used advanced medical techniques to make the body capable of supporting life once more and thus Dex’s spirit at last returned to his body and he lived again.

So the trend is to just kill everyone with angst today, huh? Huh? It’s not like I need love and happiness in my life anyways-

“I can’t believe this.”

“You really should’ve seen it coming.”

“From everyone else, maybe, but from you? I trusted you, Kai.”

“Lloyd—“

“You were supposed to be my brother!”

(Haha psYCH this isn’t even angst, somebody’s gotta bring balance to the force so here is!! totally self-indulgent bros being idiots, aka Kai tries to teach Lloyd how to drive, as inspired by treasured classic Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zach and Cody.) 

“I can’t believe this.”

“You really should’ve seen it coming.”

“From everyone else, maybe, but from you? I trusted you, Kai.”

“Lloyd—“

“You were supposed to be my brother!”

“For the love of—“ Kai turns around in the driver’s seat, staring at Lloyd where he’s (very much against his will) sitting in the passenger’s seat with his knees pulled up to his chest. “Are you seriously quoting Star Wars at me right now?”

“You tell me, Anakin Mc-Scarface, you traitor.”

Kai rubs a hand across his face, counting to three under his breath. “You are the worst drama queen, you know that, right.”

Lloyd folds his arms across his chest, looking grumpier than the wet cat Kai had rescued from a drainage flood the other day. “Takes one to know one,” Lloyd mutters.

“Look, I’m still serious about picking up that cookie cake, promise,” Kai says, wincing a bit at the reminder that he has, technically, stabbed Lloyd in the back, just a tiny bit. “Driving practice is just a stop on the way.”

Lloyd shoots him one of those I’m-Gonna-Flaunt-My-Overlord-Heritage looks, the one that could strip paint from a wall.

“I don’t need a stupid driver’s license.”

“Yes, you do!” Kai exclaims, throwing his hand up in the air. “What are you gonna do if you need to get somewhere? What are you gonna do if you get pulled over?”

Lloyd’s lip juts out stubbornly. “I’m gonna light the car on fire and fly away on a dregon.”

Kai wonders briefly if this is how Nya feels. “You’re the worst gremlin of a brother I’ve ever had.”

“And you’re a stir-fried ice cream head.”

“I should’ve let you burn in the fire temple,” Kai mutters, as he pulls the car into a mostly-empty parking lot.

“But you didn’t,” Lloyd says, a bit more cheerfully.

“A tragic mistake, really,” Kai sighs.

“Yeah,” Lloyd says, propping his elbows up on the armrest of Kai’s seat and grinning at him. “Just think — then you could’ve been the green ninja right now. Blew your chance.”

“It might not be too late,” Kai says, side-eyeing him. “I could still off you and steal the green gi, you know.”

Lloyd snorts. “Yeah, then you could give the motivational team speeches—“

“You haven’t set a super high bar—“

“—and you get to fend off whatever rabid ex-student of Sensei Wu comes by next week—“

“On second thought—“

“—and you’d get Garmadon for a dad—“

“No I wouldn’t!”

“Well you’d have to see him all the time, at least—“

“Well that’s the nail in the coffin, there.”

Lloyd giggles, falling back in his seat. “As if you could defeat me anyways,” he says, smugly.

“Oh yeah?” Kai says, pulling the car into one of the vacant parking spots (not that it matters, the entire lot is empty save for one car in the corner, but you know, lessons). “How about this: I’ll trade you five cookie cakes for the green gi—“

“Done.”

Kai blinks, his hand pausing on the gear shift as he shifts it into park. “Seriously? That’s it?”

“I’d probably trade it for one,” Lloyd says, messing absently with the string on his hoodie. “Cookies are a way better trade off.”

Kai has words for that, but he desists. The Preeminent was only a few months ago, after all, and not that long ago Lloyd had a greasy emo jerk possess him because he was salty that he wasn’t the chosen one.

Kai suppresses a snort. After meeting the guy, he honestly wonders why anyone was even surprised—

Anyways. Rant aside, Kai is on a mission here, and he’d promised Nya and the guys he’d have Lloyd driving like a pro when he came back. In hindsight, this was probably too big a promise on Kai’s part.

“Do I have to?” Lloyd complains, as Kai unbuckles his seatbelt and gestures for them to switch places. “We drive mechs, Kai, why do I even need to know how to drive a car?”

“Because,” Kai says, insistently. “This is a normal person check box. If you ever want to have a life outside of obsessive ninja training and world-saving, you gotta at least know how to parallel park.”

“You don’t even know how to parallel park,” Lloyd accuses.

Kai bristles. “Just because I hit another car once—“

“Twice.”

“—twice, doesn’t mean I haven’t parallel parked right before!”

“Sure,” Lloyd says, in a voice that sounds way too much like Kai’s own snarky skepticism, oh geez, has he created a monster when he wasn’t looking—

No, Kai decides, calming himself. He’s been nothing but a stellar role model, of course.

“Anyways, it’s an important part of growing up,” Kai says sagely, like the absolutely amazing older brother he is. “You’ve only got a certain number of important life events, and you already steamrolled past becoming a teen. We gotta treasure the rest. Getting your license, being old enough to vote, having alcohol for the first time—“

“Actually, I already had alcohol for the first time,” Lloyd corrects him.

“…what.”

“Yeah,” Lloyd says, wrinkling his nose. “When Morro possessed me he took this shot or something, it was super gross — wait, Kai, where are you going? Kai, get back in the car!”

“—find a way to the Departed Realm myself, and then I’ll show him where he can stick his shot glass—“

“Kai, please—“

“—shove his ugly emo head in a blender—“

“Kai, people are watching us!”

After a good ten minutes of Lloyd coaching Kai through calming exercises, and a bad five minutes of Lloyd dragging Kai by the hair back into the car before he tries his hand at necromancy, Kai finally convinces Lloyd to get into the driver’s seat.

This is, unfortunately, the easy part.

“Okay,” Kai says, pointing to the gear shift. “These here are super important, ‘cause if you put it in the wrong one, you’ll shoot backwards on accident.”

Lloyd snorts. “Speaking from experience?”

Kai shoots him a look. “Just listen, okay?”

Lloyd shrugs, but he doesn’t say anything else. Kai shakes his head. “Anyways, like I was saying — this is an automatic car, so it’s easier than stick shift, but you still gotta pay attention to the gear shift. It’s in park right now, which is the P, see?” Kai taps the transmission. “That means it won’t move, even if you hit the gas. If you want to move, you shift it into drive, which is D, right here. The R is for reverse, which is if you wanna go backwards. N is for neutral, which is pretty pointless I guess. And the L is for low, which means, uh….low,” Kai finishes awkwardly. Huh, maybe Nya should have taken this one…

He shakes that off and directs his attention back to Lloyd. “You got all that?”

Lloyd, who has been tuning him out for the last five minutes in favor of watching the little bee that’s outside their window buzz around the antenna, quickly yanks his attention back to Kai, trying to seem like he’s been listening like a diligent little brother the whole time.

“Yes. Totally got it. The PRDNL. Good to go.”

Kai narrows his eyes at him. “Then what’s the P stand for?”

Lloyd rolls his eyes. “Park, duh.”

“And the N?” Kai says, shrewdly.

“Uh…” Lloyd tries not to sweat. “Never hit…another car?”

Kai thunks his head against the glove compartment. “You’re not even gonna make into the car for the test,” he groans.

“It’s not my fault it’s so boring!” Lloyd defends. “All this stuff about the park and reverse and braking is stupid—“

“Really, the brakes are stupid?”

“You know what I mean!” Lloyd huffs, slouching down in the seat. “I don’t even want to be here.”

“Look,” Kai says, trying his very best not to make a crack about the five year-old that Lloyd is. “If you stop whining about it, I’ll make cookies with you when we get home.”

Lloyd eyes him, looking slightly more receptive. “Chocolate chip?”

“I was actually thinking oatmeal raisin this time, change it up a bit—“

Lloyd gags. “Oatmeal raisin?” he repeats, scandalized. “You’d rather have oatmeal raisin cookies than chocolate chip? Who are you, satan?”

“Yes,” Kai says, flatly. “I’m the devil incarnate.”

“The driving devil—“

“You know what, just go ahead and start driving,” Kai says, grinding his palms in his eyes. “You know which is brakes and which is the gas, right?”

“Obviously,” Lloyd rolls his eyes. “Get ready for the ultimate driving master, heh.”

“I can’t believe I helped raise you.”

“Psh, you were lucky to,” Lloyd says. Kai shakes his head, grinning against his better will. Lloyd falls quiet, and Kai watches him expectantly.

Then watches him expectantly for another minute.

“You can drive now.”

“…”

“…Lloyd.”

“…”

“Lloyd, you can drive.”

Lloyd remains frozen at the steering wheel, gripping it hard enough to creak. “Um.”

Kai stares at him. “Lloyd?”

“I’m going,” Lloyd says, tightly. “Just. Gimme a sec.”

Kai blinks, staring at him another minute. Lloyd makes no move, and the car doesn’t either, quietly puttering away in park.

Kai gestures to the gear shift. “Just start with changing the gear—“

“I know,” Lloyd grits out. “Stop putting so much pressure on me.”

“Pressure, I’m not even—“ Kai cuts off, trying not to face-palm. Okay, new tactic. “Just…imagine the road is Morro’s face,” Kai suggests.

Lloyd blinks. “What?”

“Imagine the road is Morro,” Kai repeats. “And you’re, uh, running him over if you drive.”

Lloyd turns this over in his head, the epiphany dawning on his face. “You’re right,” he says, his voice hushed. “If I knew how to drive, I could run him over.”

“Well yeah, I mean, if he wasn’t already dead, and that’s not quite the point I was going for there, but—“

“I changed my mind,” Lloyd says, a look of hellish glee in his eyes. “I like driving.”

Uh-oh.

“Don’t get carried away,” Kai says, sweating. “Here, just take it slow—“

Lloyd throws the car into drive, and— oof, there’s the gas, he was paying attention after all, apparently.

“Okay, that was a little rough, but so far, so — um, Lloyd?” Kai says, weakly. “Lloyd, you might wanna — you might wanna slow down a bit—“

“That would defeat the purpose,” Lloyd says, resolutely turning the steering wheel as they pick up speed.

Kai looks at him in alarm. “The purpose?”

A grin spreads across Lloyd’s face that looks way too much like it belongs on Garmadon’s face. “Of running Morro over.”

“Morro is hypothetical, Lloyd—!”

“I know, but—“ Lloyd pauses, a slight look of panic crossing his face. Kai follows his line of vision, and realizes that they’re now headed in the direction of the lone car in the lot with them.

“Uh, which one was the brakes again?”

Kai stares at him in disbelief. “The left.”

“The left what?”

“Are you kidding me?”

“The left what, Kai?!”

“The left pedal, Lloyd, hit it, hit it — no, with your foot, you idiot—“

As it turns out, they’re both idiots, as no one thinks to turn the wheel in time.

“Can I say a bad word.”

“No.”

“Rats.”

“I can’t believe this,” Kai moans. “There is literally one. One single car in this parking lot, and you still managed to hit it.”

“I’m going to prison,” Lloyd says sadly, surveying the two wrecked cars, Sensei’s old rented car neatly smashed into the considerably more expensive sports car, crushing the side in.

At least neither of them got hurt, Kai thinks, dully. Property damage was only kept to a few couple thousand dollars this time, that’s…probably a record for him and Lloyd, actually.

It’s still not good, but Kai is nothing if not a loyal brother, and if Lloyd goes down to his own inability to touch a car without wrecking it, he’ll go down with him. But preferably neither of them are going down, Kai likes living life outside prison.

“No, you aren’t,” Kai says, shaking his head and rising in determination. “You’re too young to go to prison.”

“Yeah, I haven’t even voted yet.”

“Cut the sass or I’ll make prison look like a playground next time I’m on training with you,” Kai says, tightly. “Look, we’re just gonna—“

There’s a slam from the door of the building near them, and Kai hears voices sound from around the corner. Lloyd takes a careful step behind him, going pale.

“Ah,” Kai says. “Okay!” he claps his hands together. “Lloyd, this next lesson is called hit and run, which is terrible and bad and you should never do, ever, however—“ Heavy footsteps round the corner. “Desperate times!” Kai yelps, grabbing Lloyd by the arm and hauling them both into a sprint. “Run for it!”

“Weren’t Kai and Lloyd supposed to be back by now?”

Nya looks up from her book, meeting Zane’s concerned expression. “They’re probably just taking their time,” she says. “Lloyd didn’t look super enthusiastic about driving.”

“I suppose you’re right,” Zane says, not looking entirely reassured. Nya can’t blame him — they’re trusting their only normal car into the hands of Kai and Lloyd, the odds aren’t exactly great.

Zane shifts, making to stand. “Perhaps I should check on—“

The heavy sound of a dragon landing on the deck echoes from the ceiling, and Nya gives a tiny sigh of relief as twin footsteps echo across the deck, heading down for the cabin. Both her and Zane glance at the door as it swings open — and blink. Kai and Lloyd look fairly cheerful, which probably has something to do with the three large boxes from the Great Ninjago Cookie Factory Lloyd’s balancing in his arms, and the half-eaten slice he’s got stuffed in his mouth.

“How’d driving go?” Nya asks, eyeing the boxes shrewdly. She’s already debating how difficult it’s going to be to wrestle those from Lloyd before he makes himself sick, chances slim to none.

“It went okay,” Kai shrugs, hanging up his jacket. “Lloyd knows the gear shifts now.”

“Yeah,” Lloyd says, through a mouthful of cookie. “The PRDNL.”

“Oh,” Zane says, staring at them. “That’s good. Did you bring the keys back?”

“Yup,” Kai says, tossing Zane the key ring. Nya relaxes, exchanging relieved glances with Zane. Ah well, she sighs to herself. Its not that she’s unhappy to be wrong about her brothers’ capability, but she’d really thought they might end up—

“By the way, the car’s in downtown Ninjago,” Kai says quickly, placing his hands on Lloyd’s back and shoving. “It mightbealittlewrecked too but we gotta go, training awaits, go Lloyd go—“

Before Nya can blink, Kai’s shoved Lloyd down the hall, the two sprinting away as Lloyd cackles. Zane gives a tiny, quiet sigh of utter despair.

Horrible as she feels, because poor Zane and his dejected expression, he doesn’t deserve this…but Nya can’t help the tiny smile of satisfaction that spreads across her face. Ha. Cole’s losing twenty bucks to her after all.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Rito Revolto & Mordant

A mercenary for hire and his accountant who handles his space finances, meet Rito Revolto and Mordant!

Rito was hired by Count Dregon almost a year ago as an extra warrior. His ruthless fighting style, nonchalant attitude and willingness to do almost anything if it means he gets paid proved useful to the Count's cause. However, Rito defects from Dregon when it looks like the warlord will be defeated by the combined forces of the Power Rangers and the Masked Rider, meaning he wouldn't get paid anymore.

Mordant joined up with Rito a few years ago, seeing him as a steady contract that makes him money so he can maintain his cybernetics. He now makes more than enough, but sticks around because he knows Rito would make terrible financial decisions without him.

Shortly following the departure of Dex from Earth, the two are approached by Goldar as a representative of Lord Zedd and offered a deal. Destroy the Power Rangers and Zedd will give him the Power Coins as a reward. Though the Dark Specter would never, in fact, actually give up the Power Coins to a random mercenary, Rito accepts the bluff, despite Mordant's best advice.

Rito then joins up with the growing ranks of Lord Zedd (or "Edd" as he calls him), surprised to see Scorpina also among them. Once again, Mordant is stuck tagging along with his client, against his better judgement.

Masked Rider Morphinverse(Black-Black RX)

I'm keeping the Morphinverse train going with my version of Saban's Masked Rider. Kamen Rider Black-Masked Rider season 1: Scientist Richard Stewart envious of the success of his father Lexington, and brother Hal becomes a mutant supervillain named Count Dregon determined to transform humanity into his mutant slaves starting with his own nephew Dexter. But Dexter escapes before his uncle can brainwash him, and still has mutant superpowers he must use to save the Earth from Count Dregon, and his minions. Kamen Rider Black RX-Masked Rider Season 2: Count Dregon, and his minions have returned having enhanced their own mutations, and creating new more powerful mutant monsters to carry out their plans, and have even turned Dexter's best friend Donny into the evil Robo Rider to destroy Masked Rider but Dexter's own mutation has evolved giving him new incredible powers which alongside new vehicles created by his father, and grandfather to stop Count Dregon for good. In this version Dexter is a biological son of the Stewarts, and his Grandpa, and Count Dregon are Hal's father, and brother, and the story is meant to be more like the Japanese Kamen Rider with evil scientists, and mutants. Also Dex's friends from Edenoi are included but their humans from Earth as well, and their names are now Donny, Sarah, and Fabian. Ferbus would be replaced with giant genetically engineered grasshopper created by Dex's grandfather using footage of Berry from ZO, and J. Also the Robo Rider saga would be the final episodes of Season 1, and the first episodes of Season 2, afterwards Dex would cure Donny of his brainwashing but he'd still have his Robo Rider powers, and help Dex fight Dregon's mutants in American footage. Alternately I'm thing of having Black, and Black RX being two separate characters with their own different stories like Black is the story one Earth with the Stewarts, and Black RX is the story with Edenoi, and the Endenoi characters but it takes place entirely on Endenoi.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - "Mask of the Masked Rider"

Prince Dex of Edenoi was given the powers of the Masked Rider by his dying grandfather, King Lexian, following a devastating final assault on Edenoi's capital by the evil Count Dregon. With Edenoi's defenses crippled, Dregon set his sights on Earth. Dex soon followed, teaming up with the Power Rangers and forming a strong alliance with them, counting them as some of his first and closest friends.

Dex's past is riddled in tragedy, Edenoi having been under constant siege since before he was born. His planet made for an easy target, as most of the population were pacifists, save for the Masked Rider Warriors that stood guard against incursions. Sadly, they were all wiped out in Dregon's final attack, leaving only Dex and his Ectophase Activator as the last remnants of the Rider Warriors.

Around the Rangers, Dex says everything extremely deadpan, making it hard to tell whether or not he's joking, but he will soon clarify with an equally deadpan "That was a joke." or "Was that not funny?"

He comes into inadvertant conflict with Tommy as she starts to worry about him replacing her on the team, threatened by the "newer and cooler green guy". The two soon reconcile as Tommy apologises for projecting onto him, with Dex saying that, as someone who also had never had friends before now, it's understandable that she would be worried about losing them again.

I AM AMAZON. would be canon.

After recruiting former Count Dregon associates in Rito, Mordant and Scorpina, Zedd has Dr. Finster conduct further research into Putty Patroller creation, utilizing the Dark Specter's crystal shard energy with molten rock to create a new variant of Putty: the Z-Putty.

Much stronger and able to withstand the strongest attacks from a Power Ranger, the Z-Putties prove to be a valuable asset to Zedd's growing forces.

Edenoi

The planet of Edenoi is covered in many vast deserts and mighty mountains as well as some isolated forests and jungles. Two twin moons orbit the planet and an Edenoi Day is split into four quarters, Morning, Noon, First Moon, Second Moon. For countless millennia Edenoi knew peace after tribal warfare gave way to an united kingdom. Edenoites are mainly crafters traders and merchants. The peace was shattered when a Cult worshiping an ancient death deity known as Sha’Kur emerged. Using dark alchemy they turned many of their followers into monstrous beasts and attacked the innocent. Looking for a way to protect his people King Takgo ordered his royal alchemists to discover away to give him the same power as the beasts to find them on even ground. Using the Kamantis, an insect sacred to the royal family as a sign of good fortune to the just, as a basis the royal alchemists created a method to grant the King incredible power. He had become the universes first Power Rider, called such because he rode into battle on a cycle of great power. This sparked a conflict between the Riders of the royal family and the Cult of Sha’Kur that would last many years. Finally after a great battle the Cult was in ruins however their maniacal followers would rise in the future to avenge them by battling King Kotami.

Aside from the Cult of Sha’Kur Edenoi has experienced many hardships in recent times. The first of these being the invasion by Count Dregon and his Insectoid Empire that forced young Prince Dex into exile on Earth as the Masked Rider. Years after the fall of the Insectoid Empire a new larger empire attacked Edenoi. The Stellar Empire turned much of Edenoi into ruins even striking down King Dex in battle.

Years later the King once more sits on the thrown with Queen Molly and Prince Donais by his side. The King is focused on training the young Prince as both Rider and ruler. Though Edenoi is a peaceful world they are not defenseless, especially after the multiple invasions. The Edenoi Defense Force is full of soldiers ready to defend Edenoi. The armor is designed to honor the original Rider though it is not as powerful as the real deal.

Edenoi also has developed an air defense force though they are still small in size they are armed with specialized suits that allow them to withstand the air pressure as well as glide short distances.

The royal family is protected by the Royal Guard. Their uniforms are made to honor the great Captain Joji. The face mask is retractable but during combat they keep it on. Every member of the royal guard is armed with a nano gauntlet that allows them to call on many different weapons and tools.
