"are you here in a journalistic capacity?” most ex ravenclaws are familiar to her, at this stage. if she hadn’t met them during her hogwarts years, there had been plenty of time to get to know them after - memorials and events where their circles overlapped, therapy for some and in their case, the few times over the past eight years where the prophet had shown interest in seeing where she was now. if it wasn’t in the lead up to may, it was usually when there was a lull in actual news. keira had been to the offices more times than she could count, enough to know their name & face beyond the sybill trelawney connection that had stunned them way back when, though she’d only provided an update to her story once. that was for the better. “i heard you’re writing gossip columns, now,” she’s not judging. merlin knew she had no right, and her interest is genuine when she asks, “would you find much of it at something like this?”

let me just start by saying it was so hard to narrow this down to just six characters ! noxtms has so many fabulous characters, i’m truly lucky that i get to experience them first hand. 

catherine “wren” warren ( @auguriies ) as penned by rachel ! i had a really hard time deciding which of your characters to include on my list because i love all of them so much. but there’s just something about wren that puts her above the rest. you’ve created such an unique background for her, it’s truly an inspiration !

liana burke ( @valiantiisms ) penned by caro ! when i say i screamed when i saw your accepted, i mean i screamed ! a burke and a sophia bush faceclaim ? absolutely iconic. i haven’t had a chance to rp with liana yet, but i’ve been admiring her from a far for a while ! i am very excited for our future interactions between liana and kasper !

oriana trelawney ( @cvriousheart ) penned by chris ! despite misspelling their name, i have always adored oriana ! though, it’s fair to say i love all of your characters ! and then you made them a seer which is just beyond amazing 

arthur weasley ( @hoggleswart ) as penned by ziggy ! i initially planned on including zeke on this list but, i just couldn’t get arthur off of my mind. i’ve always been a fan of his character and i am super excited to see what you’ve got planned for him !

blaise zabini ( @ofzvbini ) as penned by mozzie ! i stan the slytherin gang, okay, but blaise holds an extra special place in my heart. and the way you portray him is just amazing. i truly cannot describe it, just know he means the world to me and theodore. 

gracie moody ( @graciieux ) as penned by lex ! i was excited for gracie the second you mentioned bringing in a sydney sweeney fc. i had no clue you would be bringing such an amazing character ! i am very attached to her and i can’t wait to see what you have planned !

"two galleons,” nazli shouts at them without preamble, inclining their head towards the stubby boardman wannabe on stage and adding, for clarification, “on him winning.” someone who had staggered into the bathroom they’d taken up haunting earlier in the night had said something about betting on the outcome, and someone else had directed them towards none other than oriana trelawney. it didn’t seem entirely their speed, but naz had been confident enough in approaching them until a long enough beat passes for them to start wondering if they’d been fed false information and with uncharacteristic sheepishness they ask, “you’re taking bets, right?”

THIRTY  MONTHS  OF  NOX   :   SIX  CHARACTERS. ft.   @stcysmom,  @dolors,  @graciieux,  @chacswins,  @cvriousheart   &   @persiistents

ELIZA  FAWLEY,   as  penned  by  rachel.

it took me a long minute (or several actually) to pick just one character of yours for this. at first, it was going to be hande, my beloved, or pansy (if pansy was regina george, i’m that girl who thinks it was awesome she punched her in the face), then of course narcissa <333 i love watching her tear into arthur <333 that is such a fun dynamic to me. i was spoilt for choice, but! my heart continuously kept pulling me back to eliza  &  i couldn’t ignore it. i’ve been obsessed with the concept of this character ever since i first heard about them. i love a family disownment who came back swinging! and i love even more that the original family is borgin because it’s been great to bring some depth / background to the last name ezekiel claims to hate so much for no good actual reason. i always wanted to know more about the borgins and now i’ve got this little insight. i admire that eliza took everything that happened to her  &  still turned it into a positive. i love that her life is very much about her and her children, more than it is about everything else happening. i especially adore the relationship between her  &  henri. their interactions are a joy to see on the dash. all in all, i just really like this character. i eye up the wcs often. i’m collecting galleons thinking what if..

HERMIONE  GRANGER,   as  penned  by  cherry.

i confess with absolutely zero shame that this almost became an ode to antonin karkaroff. my problematic fave minister of magic! i was sat here, 10/10 prepared to connect with my inner durmstrang trio  &  pledge my undying allegiance for that murderous, little fiend, but when it to writing? i instantly went to hermione instead. my hero, my idol. i could probably (definitely) gush about your hermione for days, weeks, months. i just love the take you have put on her. she is so different from any other hermione portrayal, beautifully so, with a unique twist that i am confident only your talent could perform. i live and breathe how fierce hermione is; how unflinching  &  ready to take on the world if she has to. how she will always make her voice heard, as is her right to, and yet the unsummable amount of warmth that can come when she is around friends. i aspire to be just like her. i fully understand seamus’ former infatuation because i, too, want to marry this girl someday. 

GRACIE  MOODY,   as  penned  by  lex.

gracie!!!!!! <3333 i have been unbelievably fond of grace moody from the moment i first met her and i don’t think that will ever change because the more i see, the more i love. in true lex style, you have taken what was already an interesting concept and turned it into something that is so mesmerising  &  fun to read, especially if hande is involved. my attachment to their ongoing connection? very, very dear to me. i think in any harry potter situation, we always hear about characters who were affected by the war because of their parents, because they were order-aligned, because of their status. all valid reasonings, but i find it so engaging to have a character who was drawn in  /  affected romantically, to see how that decision changed their life and still does. gracie is joining the long list of noxtm characters that i am completely convinced are / should be canon. i can’t wait to see more of her.

HELENE  LEVESQUE,   as  penned  by  maeve.

it has been, and continues to be, such a pleasure to get to know helene. admittedly, i’m slightly biased, because ezekiel is fond, but also i mean this in general! we love a strong, sexy milf in this house. there is something so beautifully elegant in how helene holds herself and yet, at the same time, affable when compared to ezekiel’s rough around the edges, brutish manner. on paper, they’re very much opposite, and yet it has been such a joy blending their light  &  darkness together. i think helene in general is a breath of fresh air, something zeke isn’t entirely used to, which has helped me develop him in ways i didn’t expect to when i first brought him to life. i’m always excited to see what the future holds. away from their connection, there is an enviable ‘devil may care’ attitude that helene holds herself with; a kind that says i’m important, and i know what i’m worth, and that draws me in every time i read any kind of interaction involving her. 

ORIANA  TRELAWNEY,   as  penned  by  chris.

not only is oriana one of my favourite characters here, but they’re quite possibly one of my all - time favourite characters to write alongside in general. there is something so outrageously fun about them and their articles. i love their ambition. i love their well - thought out familial dynamics. their dynamic with lavender is another long time personal favourite of mine. i think there are very few people who can still reach lavender’s playful nature, the hogwarts version of her before it all went horribly wrong, but something about their bond (even if it’s at the expense of other people’s business. sorry, guys!) seems to ironically ground her  &  i really, really enjoy writing them just as much as i enjoy reading oriana’s interactions with everyone else. i think the one thing i adore most about oriana is how unapologetically them they are. yes, they write their articles. no, they don’t owe you an explanation, and that’s brilliant. i admire them. i’m looking forward to reading all the future gossip tidbits. 

MOLLY  WEASLEY,   as  penned  by  gia.

mom <333 mama bear <333 love of mine  &  arthur’s life <333 my heart feels so full every time i get to explore the wonderful dynamic that is molly and arthur weasley. two good, wholesome parents, who love each other and their children. i’ve always had such a fondness for their relationship in general, so getting to explore it deeper, to mould it  &  develop the way we’ve started to here in noxtms is truly such a gift. i pull the literal pleading face emoji every time i read a reply. i love how much you’ve grasped the caring side of molly. that soft, maternal nature, who puts family above all else. it shines through in every post. when molly was injured during the attack, both myself  &  arthur were beside ourselves, because that’s our wife and we love her.

ASTORIA YEŞILÇIMEN, PLAYED BY CHERRY.

cherry, my fellow and favourite aussie. <3 i love you with my entire heart and i love your characters just as much, so choosing just one was a challenge. at the end astoria won because her and cho’s friendship ? they truly own my entire ass. this almost went to parvati because honestly speaking, she’s an underrated favourite of mine but you execute her so perfectly just like you do with the rest of your characters. believe me when i say that it’s not even an exaggeration, as i’m sure that i speak for everybody here when i say that your characters are so detailed and it’s one of the many things that i love so much about you ! not to mention your writing, i am forever in awe. i could go on and on, but i just love you and your characters so much. <3

MIKAELA KARKAROFF, PLAYED BY LEX.

this spot was originally going to be for ismene, but i chose kaela because i love her so god damn much and how iconic she is. not to undermine how much i love ismene because she has a special place in my lil heart and always will. <3 lex, you’re honestly one of the most funniest people i’ve met and i love the one liners you come up with when it comes with kaela. i’ve still yet to come up with how i can slide connections for her with any one of my girls, but seeing you on the dashboard in general is always such a joy and ilysm !

PANSY PARKINSON, PLAYED BY RACHEL.

without exaggeration, choosing only one between all of your characters was another great challenge for me, because i genuinely love every single character that you’ve brought in. whether they’ve been a canon character or an original character, you always manage to make them so different from one another, and bring so much life into your characters. i enjoy all the ideas you come up with, and seeing them come to life on the dashboard so much more ! you are truly one of the most creative people i’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it’s always so fun writing and coming up with plots with you. antigone and cho <3, nazli and cho <33, ginny and fleur <333, hande and fleur <3333 they are all so very dear to me and my heart. i love your characters so much, and you even more !

SEAMUS FINNIGAN, PLAYED BY ZIGGY.

ziggy, i honestly enjoy reading your writing so much because everything that you write sounds so chefs kiss ! seamus finnigan is an underrated character that you portray so perfectly, and there truly isn’t anyone that could play him as well as you do that it’s as if you’ve made up this canon character all by yourself. you’re that good ! jeremy allen white is also such an underrated, but absolutely hot take to have for seamus, and it works so well. i love him so much. <3 i can’t wait to come up with more plots and connections with him ( and the rest of your amazing characters ) for cho and fleur !

OLIVER WOOD, PLAYED BY MAEVE.

oliver wood, my favourite himbo character. <3 i feel like that isn’t what you were going for when it comes to oliver, but for him and cho’s dynamic, that’s how she and i see him. maeve, i don’t think you understand just how much i love your characters, but oliver really takes the cake for this round because of how well you’ve written him up. and because darren barnet is such a perfect faceclaim for him and i will never shut up about it ! i love the banter they have between each other and they are honestly my comedic relief friendship. i can’t wait to come up with more plots and connections with him, and the rest of your characters !

ORIANA TRELAWNEY, PLAYED BY CHRIS.

i don’t tell you this enough but i honestly am in love with oriana and cho’s dynamic very, very much. the fact that we have like four different threads going at the same time for them is a testament to just how much they mean to me! one of my favourite moments with you are coming up with oriana’s first prophecy together, and you telling me that you had never watched harry potter and you were running off everything rachel was telling you ahsjfajaf. you continue to be one of the most funniest people i know and ily a lot, chris !

“oriana. you received my owl?” sybill rises from one of the waiting room chairs on instinct she wasn’t aware she even had, opening her arms wide as if she might deign to wrap them in a comforting, maternal hug, shrouded by suffocating ballgown. she doesn’t go for one, of course, but the thought certainly seems to be there before she drops them once again, elbows awkwardly jutting against her own side. she had sent two before apparating ( horrible thing she tried not to do at all, but it had felt the only way to travel on this night ), one to their other mother, one to cassia’s sibling. she tries not to think too closely about why they’re the first to arrive. “she’s alright. sleeping, now. from what i gather, there was a rather...- exciting night.” that was one word for it. all had not slotted into place, as yet, but sybill would get their eventually. the day as dark as night had certainly come.

my favorite face claims for aurora are t’nia miller, renee elise goldsberry, tamara taylor, freema agyeman, laverne cox, gugu mbatha raw, christina milan, adepero oduye, danai gurira, kerry washington, bianca lawson, lupita nyong’o or gabrielle union ! you should absolutely contact chris @cvriousheart for a better overview of how they view aurora, but i can tell you what i initially canonised when i played sybill, which was that aurora was a very, very good mother who was much more made for that role than sybill ever was. they were married for over a decade, but there had to be some reason for their eventual divorce and i think the easiest one of all is that aurora eventually saw fully through sybill’s bravado and didn’t like what was underneath. she should probably be upwards of 45, but there’s always some wiggle room. you have a lot of freedom with the role, but i would amend the main endorsed wc to ‘contact chris before applying’ over contacting the main - it’s been a year since i killed sybill off for the plot, so my views don’t matter as much as chris’, anymore !

i had such a hard time picking just six characters to highlight in this post because every single character in noxtms is absolutely amazing ! every day i wake up thankful to be a part of such a wonderful roleplay. and i consider myself incredibly lucky for the opportunity to roleplay with all of the wonderful characters. also, can it take a minute to highlight all the amazing takes on canons we’ve seen in this roleplay? truly amazing. 

marietta edgecome ( @sneakscar ) as played by bee. i don’t think i’ve ever played opposite of a marietta- at least not one that’s left such an impression on me ! like wow i just want to shower her and you with love and affection because you both deserve it ! 

avalon balinor ( @avalcn ) played by alyssa. of course no list can be complete without my gal lonnie. i’m not even sure where to start, so bear with me. but i mean whats not to love? a slytherin da member? it’s sexy. also lonnie might be the only character who actually likes each of my three boys (don’t fact check me) but thats jsut impressive. 

oriana trelawney ( @cvriousheart ) as played by chris. i’ll admit, i had a hard time deciding whether or not i wanted to include theora or oriana on this list but in the end orina won ! i just love them a lot. i really enjoyed seeing the interactions between oriana and sybill (may she rest in peace). and i haven’t even touched on the dynamic with oliver ! i’ll admit i was a bit skeptical when you suggested the roommates wc, but any doubts went out the window almost immediately! they’re such a fun pair. 

damien graves ( @chacswins ) as played by gia. what is there for me to say that you don’t already know? i love damien. like a lot. more than i can put into words. he’s just so complex. and i absolutely love the backstory you’ve created for him as well as the family dynamic (i mean duh- i am playing his mother) but !!! i truly look forward to his future happiness because he deserves it !! 

kenneth trower ( @thymetrowler ) as played by vee. okay, i may bit just a tad bias because kenneth is filling one of my wanted connections. but boy oh boy do i love him ! i love how you managed to take such a minor character and breathe life into him! it really shows just how talented you! 

amelia dolohov ( @rcveuse ) as played by saz. okay, i know i haven’t actually had a thread with amelia but that hasn’t stopped me from admiring her from afar! and i’m not just writing this because i’ll be playing her dad on lumos, though that is certainly a plus ! i am truly in love with this character that you’ve created and i am very excited to know more about her !
