Tbh is it just me or has Supercute Adventures gotten a lot weirder in Season 6
Not because of the unholy amount of Three Parters, but because there’s this weird emphasis placed on friendship that honestly feels really forced
Season 1-4 were great, with every episode showcasing some random thing hapoening around town that there was always something to learn from either lore-wise or life lesson-wise, and Season 5, while it had it’s weird moments, was ultimately not bad either. But then Season 6 comes along and, while you should expect kids cartoons to be sunshine and rainbows, I can guarantee you there is not a single kids cartoon out there worth watching that is that level of sunshine and rainbows. Not even Peppa Pig goes anywhere near that shit
Like surely I can’t be the only one who notices how monotone and ultimately stale every mention of friendship and togetherness has gotten recently
Because at least in Seasons 1-5, when it was mentioned, there was some kind of purpose that that mention served, and the way it was worded was always intertwined with that purpose. But in Season 6 they just say it for the sake of reminding you that “ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE BESTIES BY THE WAY, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T ALREADY KNOW THAT”
Like. The one Season 6 episode so far that doesn’t do this in some capacity is My Melody’s Bad Day, and that’s because the point of that episode was to show that it’s okay to not be okay all the time because real friends will be willing to be there for you in times of struggle. Admittedly My Mel didn’t go through any real visible struggle as her Bad Mood had no real cause, but the point still got across all the same
Meanwhile compare that to Hello Kitty & The Beanstalk, where while it is technically exempt from this with everyone climbing the beanstalk with Hello Kitty because she’s literally going to die without them for all they know, “Teamwork makes the dreamwork” wasn’t the plot of the episode. Not to mention the “Every adventure is better with friends!!” line is the exact same shit so I say fuck it
Like you get what I’m saying here right
Gone are the days of episodes like Happy Family that shows that not all family has to be blood-related, or Mission Invisible or Kuromi’s Sleepover that shows that real friends won’t judge you for enjoying things that make you happy as long as it’s not like. Some real sick shit, or All Thumbs which teaches you to be the self you want to be rather than the “self” other people want you to be, or Keroppi Faces The Music which was actually real fucking shit ngl or Imperfection that shows that sometimes people make mistakes and we shouldn’t always hold that against them, or My Melody’s Friendship Ultra Blast or Cinnamoroll Sweetness that’s all about setting boundaries and letting people know when they’re doing something that makes you uncomfortable, Happy Campers teaching you that campfire story monsters aren’t real and can’t hurt you, Cinnamoroll’s Dance Craze telling you to be careful what you post online, Flowers For Chococat showing that too much of something is good for nothing, Special Delivery showing how easy it is to get distracted and foresake your responsibilities…
And even episodes that weren’t necessarily about anything were good. Chococat vs Gravity for the most part was literally just Chococat & Badtz being bros, and every Fishy episode is just about Fishy being the mischievous knockoff genie (Affectionate) that she is, Badtz-Maru’s Manga Mania was just an excuse to have Badtz be a Manga Artist because Why The Hell Not, Lost & Found teaches no real lesson ultimately and only shows Badtz, Keroppi, and Pompom being lost in the woods, The Wiltening is just a VR Game, Kuromi’s Escape Room is just an escape room, Hello Kitty’s Gameshow Showdown…

But the difference there is that at least they admit that they have no real plot or moral of the story. They instead just show us more about the town they take place in or simply wanna show X Characters doing Y Thing
Meanwhile Hello Kitty And The Beanstalk says “Every adventure is better with friends” which I doubt anyone but me actually remembered sure, but the actual events of the episode are about… What, exactly? Not forgetting housewarming party invitations?? Not leaving friends to die when going to face a giant??? Not to waste an entire episode on a humorously pointless preparation montage which’s punchline wasn’t even funny????
And what’s Hello Kitty In “Back To My Friends” about? “Remember Kids: Don’t build time machines. Knowing your dumb ass you’ll accidentally destroy your entire bloodline”? I know it has the line at the end about “Leaving the past behind and focusing on building our future as best friends”, but the events prior to it don’t convey that point at all. Not to mention that Sweet Happy News article is an Unfired Checkov’s Gun that will likely never fire
I never really know how to end posts like these but yeah. Those are my personal gripes with Season 6 of Supercute Adventures
Do I think this means the show is coming to be the second Aggretsuko in terms of inconsistency, bad endings, and overall storytelling shittiness? Honestly no. I have faith that it may go back to it’s original roots sooner or later. I just. Really don’t like the needlessly sappy “Oh by the way did you know the characters are like. Friends??? Yeah that’s a thing we’re gonna be shoving in your face constantly for no apparent reason” bullshit

Okay so let’s just imagine that dumbledore didn’t let Sirius rot in Azkaban despite knowing he was innocent all along bc dumbledore is a bit of a dick
And obv Sirius didn’t die bc fuck you JKR the fandom is ours now and we say Sirius is alive
I’ve always headcanonned (It’s a word now) that Sirius’s daughter would be a little bit younger than Harry by a few years and would’ve been raised along side him (James and lily still die in my hc bc plot convenience?)
Your own mother died pretty soon after you were born thanks to the first wizarding war, so sirius ended up with dead best friends, one traitor, a two-and-a-half year old and a newborn all within two years
Yeah he was in way over his head
He didn’t give up though. Your cot was next to his bed, and Harry often waddled in for cuddles in the middle of the night. Sirius was in no position to object, and made sure both infants were settled and sound asleep before he even considered his own sleep
There was a lot of help from Uncle Moony, who Sirius and his girlfriend (your mum) had named as your godfather
‘Calm down, Sirius, she’s just got wind. Here, like this’ he puts the tea towel over sirius’s shoulder and teaches him how to wind you properly. “There we go. Always remember the tea towel or you’ll end up with a back covered in vomit”
Teamwork makes the dreamwork really
As you and Harry grow up, there are LOTS of pictures taken, and Remus and Sirius quickly fill multiple scrapbooks with all of your adventures.
Harry starts to show signs of magic when he turns 4. He somehow managed to change the colour of your teddy. Your magic showed itself moments after when you indignantly turned it back
You cried when Harry got his hogwarts letter and left for school that September. “Promise you’ll write?” You had said, and he did promise
A few days later, Hedwig comes to the window with a letter. You tear it open and let her have some of your toast as you read it.
“Dad! Moony! Harry’s a Gryffindor!” You announced and they both cheered. You carried on reading. “Hey... who’s professor Snape? Harry said he’s the worst...”
Sirius roared with laughter, but remus frowned. “We went to school with Severus,” remus said slowly, fixing Sirius with a pointed glare. “We didn’t get on. We’re grown ups now, though,”
The last bit was DEFINITELY aimed at Sirius.
You’re thrilled when you get your hogwarts letter- the owl also had a letter for remus, requesting he teach Defense
It takes some convincing, but he eventually agrees to it, replying to dumbledore as Sirius takes you to Diagon Alley.
You get an ice cream from Florean Fortescue, but Sirius notices you’re a little quieter
“What’s wrong, love?” He asks gently
“Dad... you know how you, uncle Moony and Harry are all in gryffindor?”
He reaches across the table and squeezes your hand. “If you get put in gryffindor, we’ll be proud of you. And if you get put in any of the others, we’ll still be proud of you, alright love?”
“Even Slytherin?” You whisper, because you’ve heard all about Sirius’s blood-supremacist family and the slytherin reputation after reading Harry’s school books back to front (and some of remus’s)
Sirius looks at you with the SOFTEST eyes imaginable, and smiles. “Even slytherin. Because I know you’ve got it in you to be nothing like my lot,” he says, and you’re soon reassured.
During your first year, remus keeps a close eye on both you and harry- there are MANY floo calls and owls in the first term
You soon become a force to be reckoned with, truly Sirius Black’s daughter
You and Harry rat one another out to Sirius and Remus, and it’s often a game of who can get there first, especially if you’re both in the wrong
Around your fifth year, boys (or girls) start making their way into the scene
What starts off with innocent dates in Hogsmeade soon turns into you getting caught snogging someone two years above you in Snape’s classroom
You earn yourself a month of detention
Is your father angry?
Is he SHITE
You get a howler the next day (bc Harry AND Remus can’t KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT and love the gossip)

Harry laughs the loudest

You may all be wondering where we’ve been for the last year…or maybe you haven’t. Either way, the blog definitely got pushed to a spot WAY WAY in the back of my mind…a place where I put things that I don’t really want to think or worry about. Have I been too busy to run or be active? Nope! Have I kept up with running or being active? That’s also a NOPE! We haven’t completely stopped being active altogether…and I have still run on occasion, but there was no regularity of it at all. I think the last time I wrote was right before my trip to Mexico. That was a great “girls getaway” to my mother in law’s place where my mom, fave aunt and super awesome cousin met up with me and Shari and we all got to relax and unwind and spend some fun time together in a beautiful place.
In between August and now…well…loads of things went on around us. As all of you sports parents know, sports never end (except when they do for breaks) so we had lots of weekends filled with rugby and soccer.
October break was spent with a getaway to one of our favorite places, Siem Reap, where we introduced the boys to our Cambodian family, and they learned quickly why we had fallen in love with the country and people.
Thanksgiving and Christmas flew by! Valuable time with our sweet girl, Sarah…the twins absolutely LOVE their big sister Sarah 🙂
And January, along with my resolution to get my crap together and start running again, also came and went!! But a “ski trip” hit the spot after some HOT months in Singapore!

For February I vowed to start running and restart this blog…one week in and BOOM! I need to allow myself to be okay with the fact that things can and will come up…it’s part of life. So just days after the twins turned 3, off we quickly went for 10 days in the states…other than the awesome stomach bug that decided to hit 75% of our family (thank God for moms and homemade soup!!)…it was still time well spent. We had the chance to spend time with my mom, brother’s family, grandpa, aunt and uncle…and while my fitness routine was going to need a reboot, it was a trip worth taking (we all somehow managed to not take the loads of family pics like we should have). With the last week of February spent regrouping and getting over a tiny bit of jetlag, I once again made a “new month, new start” promise for March!
It’s the first Monday of March and I’m off to a good start…about 4 total miles done this morning and a solid workout this afternoon. Soooooo balance……….since it’s not something I can say I have been very good at in the last year, I need ideas to keep me motivated. If you aren’t following the Instagram page, DO IT! Keep
up with the posts and comment and send ideas and words of motivation…they’re valued more than you may think! “rundavina” is the IG page. For March, I made a promise to at least stick to TWO weeks, so I need to find ways to create a healthy balance when it comes to staying active regardless of things that come up around us. Dave and I are going to work on this together because you know what they say…TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK! On one hand, I know our unhealthy habits and downfalls, so I am going to stay positive, try to avoid the negative things/people, and attempt to keep Dave motivated as well. Wish us luck!!

As a solo artist I wouldn’t be able to shine and perform my best without the help of my better half. Our wedding live music solution is a husband and wife team #myprosquad If we had one word to describe us I would say our service is #enchanting We make couples wedding day feel magical with beautiful live piano music as I perform renditions of their beloved songs. So far our most memorable wedding we had the honor of musically serving was very recent #kimpletelyinlove hosted their wedding on top of a mountain at a ski resort. All guests, including the bride and groom, rode the ski lift to get to the ceremony. Our entrance music was perfectly timed to flow with the bridal party exiting the chair lift! Luckily we didn’t have to haul our music equipment up the mountain on the lift!! We were chauffeured by a thrill seeker who therapeutically raced up the mountain on a 4-wheeler. It was an adventure to say the least. The wedding ceremony went on without a single glitch and couldn’t have been more perfect. House Hunt Madness Pt. 2—A Quick Update.
5.31.21 4:56 p.m.—The Calm Before the Storm
Well, we have a contract on our house! The third person to look at it gave a full-price offer. And then came a flurry of signatures, phone calls, and meetings with our agent and loan officer. It’s Memorial Day weekend, so we had a little extra time to get it all done (even if my wife’s bad case of poison ivy is driving her halfway crazy…), and we even made time for a wonderful afternoon with friends, but this is just the beginning. The septic and well inspection for the Little House on the Prairie is tomorrow, and the house inspection is this coming Saturday. I’m going to be there for that one. Gotta make sure things are in order and all that. That’ll be Country Days weekend (the local street fair), but that’s okay. I’m don’t have any great desire to mingle with the People of Wal-Mart in their natural habitat (just kidding. I actually enjoy the mostly family-friendly entertainment and food). But I am still fighting the anxiety of, “What if something goes wrong.” Thankfully, I’m drowning that out with constantly looking at pictures of the new house and daydreaming about All the Things my family will be able to do there.
Anyway, our planned closing date for both homes is July 8th, and we have to be completely moved out of our current house by then, so there’s still lots to do. And it won’t be easy since I’m going to be working overtime at work, and the fam is going on a little vacay in a couple of weeks. I know, I know. I should stop whining. Life is good. We’re crazy blessed with everything right now. But there’s only so many hours in the day, and I’m NOT a natural planner. So I’m a little out of my element here. But we’ve got this.
