my chem was genuinely so ahead of their time when they made danger days and in its visual elements alone it was a coherent indictment of corporate aestheticism. punk aesthetics and anything related, anything originally subcultural and transgressive and dark, has been defanged and sold back to you. the meaning has been flattened, it's dead and forgotten like the parade marcher jacket on the half-skeleton abandoned in the desert. everything has been sanitized and stripped and sucked of its soul which is as obviously encapsulated in bl/ind as it is in any recent mcdonalds renovation or "clean" skincare brand instagram feed. "black is no longer dangerous, so what is? color."
