Deltavember 2023!

Howdy everyone! With November on the horizon, a new Deltavember is sure to come with it. Deltavember is a 30-day drawing challenge themed around Deltarune that occurred in 2022. Last year, it was about Deltarune Chapter 1.

Now that another one is coming around, the question is, should we keep it about Chapter 1, or make it about Chapter 2?

Deltavember Day 2: Kris

i did not know this was an art month. nor am i good at art. so here, have my writing instead! prompts were given by @abandoned-quiche!

Kris keeps the SOUL in their peripheral vision while they stare at the “camera”. It dashes around the cage, likely looking for a way out. Idiot. Doesn’t it know that there’s no escape once the door’s locked?

Slowly, the soft glow fades out until there’s just the barest hint of light coming through the bars.

Is it gone now? Kris kicks the cage as hard as they could without making too much noise- can’t risk waking up Mom now, can they?

There’s no response. Not even a twitch.

Kris collapses back on their bed and groans into their pillow- standing in the middle of their room and making a creepy pose at the “camera” was so awkward. They hope they gave it a good scare. It better be scared. Kris didn’t sit through all of those horror movies without learning how to be scary.

Whatever. Scaring it off was never their main goal in the first place.

Slowly, they peel themself off the mattress, shambling towards the door. Towards their ultimate goal.

SOUL or not, they’ve been doing this operation for years. Socks on to muffle their footsteps. Slow but steady steps down the stairs, put the front part of their foot down before the heel. Quick, shallow breaths- though that doesn’t matter as much when they get downstairs.

They’ve learned to keep their knife on them on these missions- the drawers creak and it’s too dark to rummage around for the silverware anyways. Best to just use what they have.

The pie sits innocently on the counter. Kris shakes their head in disappointment. It’s not even in the fridge to keep it from them- did they look tired enough that Mom assumed that they would sleep for most of the night and not sneak downstairs for it? Or was she too tired to hide it away from them again?

It doesn’t matter. Kris doesn’t even bother with their knife as they dig in- they’ve been through a lot today, dammit, they deserve that pie.
