It’s insane to me how good my roommate is at picking out people who have been in either Desperate Housewives or The Walking Dead, no matter how small their roles were in the shows. She doesn’t know anything about actors, and yet has such an eye for these two shows. Like, she genuinely doesn’t know who Owen Wilson is and thinks Ben Stiller and Nic Cage look exactly alike, but she saw Kirk Acevedo on the tv screen and was like “I KNOW HIM! He was a soldier guy that was with The Governor in TWD!”

Kirk Acevedo was in two episodes of The Walking Dead.

Season 2, Episode 7

Oh my god, I forgot how much Zelda looks like Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair in Desperate Housewives!!! Couldn't find a close match outfit wise, but for some reason, watching this episode I was thrown into DH Land for a bit.

Somebody asked me about my favorite BL series and I wanted to make a list but then I thought it’d be more useful to make a list of series I recommend with LGTBIQ+ characters because in some cases they aren’t one of the main characters, or their love story/story happens just in one of the seasons or in individual episodes. If you want more details about any show or you just have any questions, you can always ask me in the chat where I’ll be happy to answer.

I had some doubts about including certain Asian series but I finally decided to add them if I have given them at least 7 out of 10 stars on MyDramaList because even if they could be improved, I think they still have some enjoyable elements and they are worth checking out.

The shows are ordered chronologically and by nationality. I know there are many more shows but I haven’t included anything I’ve not seen (at least 1 season or enough chapters to have an opinion) and obviously, I’ve omitted those with less than 7 stars.

Since these are all shows that I recommend, I decided to make a list of my favorite series at the end as well as I was asked. I tried to make it a top 20 but it was impossible.

My thoughts as I’m watching 24 seasons of law & order svu:

Season 7

The season is starting off strong with Elliot undercover. He and Fin are just great together. Elliot being made aware of his anger management problems whilst he’s pretending to be a pedophile is ironic.

7x03 “911”, I get why it got Mariska an Emmy, her acting is great in it and the story is set up differently. However, it probably won’t go on my rewatch list. And I’m sorry, but I have to say this, but her chest compressions were more like stomach compressions. They would have saved no one.

Absolutely loved getting an insight into Elliot in 7x04. Also, him finally addressing his anger problems.

7x06, what can I say, nazis getting their asses kicked, Munch getting shot in the ass, Benson and Stabler having a hospital scene and Marcia Gay Harden showing up. Great episode all around.

7x08, I liked their discussions about end of life care or pulling the plug. Did not like the open ending with the rapes.

7x10, good episode, got even better after they were told to stand down. Olivia leaking to the press, Elliot calling her out on it, and Dad mode for Cragen. I do wonder if they ever followed up with Jackson Zane. Or is the dude still held in contempt?

I love in TV, when medical equipment isn't correctly installed, yet the monitor is still normal. Like in 7x11, when the electrode isn't even attached to the body.

Donelly conspiring to have a kid get free was great in 7x12. And their discussion on gun control is still accurate 17 years later.

Elliot hiding in the trunk of the car in 7x13 sent me. I just really was not expecting that. Warner getting her time to shine though.

So I know Mariska was pregnant during this season. So they did the obvious things to hide it: started off with her wearing open coats all the time, then the camera only showed her chest and face. In 7x13, we graduated to big objects for her to hold. Camera work in the last few episodes is creative.

7x19, well let's be honest here, I knew how this episode was gonna play out. It didn't disappoint. Benson and Stabler both choosing each other over the job. My personal favorite moment of the episode has to be the silence of the two of them after Gitano was killed. Just great acting of the two of them communicating without saying a word.

Stabler really misses Benson in 7x20. I did like that she came to him after he and Blaine got into it. Stabler's eyes say so much when Benson hands him the evidence to arrest the girl.

Look how happy Benson is, when Fin and Stabler go to her in 7x21. The season finale was kinda depressing.

First off: the season counts are weird. Season one either has 7 or 23 eps and season 11 either has 3 or the normal count and the episodes on the fanwiki have 22-23 per season and thus there’s 17 but other sites have the weird count and thus there's 19 and…we’re going by the fanwiki. SOOOO:

okay this is kind of random & call me crazy but i think i shifted to a reality where desperate housewives has 8 seasons instead of 11. I remember so clearly checking with mum how many seasons there were and I was shocked when it said 11 and i was like omg 11 ?! how is that possible when most series stop at like 7 ! and now i just checked and there’s only 8 ??? my first instinct is to think i misread it but im not falling into that loophole again, I DID THAT. and im mad bc i wanted to see how they were gonna drag it out for another 5 seasons 💀
