Remembering Digimon Alpha Generation

Given it is still Digimon month, I cannot help but be kinda nostalgic about the fandom. Because, again, it was my longest hyperfixation. I had other hyperfixations, yes, but not a single one lasted me as long as Digimon did.

And I just wanna ramble about my Digimon fanseries that I wrote back then.

The year was 2006 when I created a goggle boy named Yuki Denrei for what was originally meant to be an RPG maker fangame, on which I was writing. But the team around that fangame kinda broke apart so by 2008 I was kinda like: "Hey, maybe I gotta make something else with this character." And then: "Hey, doesn't it kinda suck, that Digimon Tamers never got a sequel?"

So I sat down and started writing on my own sequel for Digimon Tamers. It was called Digimon Alpha Generation. The idea at the time came from the fact that we did have the Card Game Alpha (that did not last quite that long) happening at the time. And so I just made the hook that the main characters here were using Digivices to scan the Card Game Alpha Cards, rather than those of the original card game.

Now, my own writing back then was still kinda a mess, but the story went something like this:

The year is 2008, when rebellious teenager Yuki Denrei gets a mysterious invite to a card game fight. The girl who had challenged him is a weird one, though. As they talk she wants to find out which is the card he trusts over all others. And when he is unable to give a proper answer, she summons a Digimon on him. A real Digimon! The only reason Denrei survives this encounter is, that suddenly a card from his deck materializes into Dracomon. Soon enough, Denrei finds out that there are other Digimon Tamers around. Teenagers like him, who have Digimon partners. But again and again that mysterious girl keeps showing up, challenging and the other tamers into fights...

Again, my writing back then was messy as fuck. It took me years to complete the story (that ended up with about 250k words) and I did not have a concrete plan where I was going with it the entire time.

All I knew at the beginning was, that I wanted to have the demon lords as antagonists and wanted to have a more international story happening. Which is why the entire middle arc has the tamers world travelling.

It was an interesting experience as a writer, though.

I knew from the very beginning, that the main trio for this story was gonna be Denrei, a lone wolf character named Shoji, and a now 14yo Shiuchon. Due to Shiuchon having her partner from the very beginning, she is in fact the first one out of this trio reaching the Ultimate level (in the half-way final).

But it was interesting as given I had only rough ideas plotted out, I could kinda react to what the readers at the time were thinking. For example, the peopled fucking adored Shoji (he ended up as the fan favorite character out of all the Digimon Tamers stuff I wrote), so I gave him more scenes. And folks started shipping Denrei and Shiuchon, so I gave the two of them more scenes together and had them end up together in a later story.

I personally loved Denrei, because man I wrote a lot of my parent related anger issues into this character. But I also had so much fun writing Shiuchon in this as a type of character we really never quite got in Digimon. A female, very straight forward character who just says it as it is. And also... is kinda flirty with everyone. xD

At times I still wanna translate the story into English. But then again: 250k - and the sequel story has anther 250k. So a total of 500k - and that is without all the side stories.

And again, it was kinda a mess. So the temptation would be there to rather do a rewrite of Alpha Generation. I don't know. Just thinking.

Might talk about the sequel, too, in the coming days.

An Angel of both sides

Kasumi and Chouko meeting an Angewomon and Ladydevimon but both been in much larger size do to data absorbing. The two also giant angels seem interested in making the little girls as their partners with mix reactions from them.

Then after some adventures, they merge their partners to become Mastemon to fight a big bad to causing trouble around both worlds.

Who isn't so big and bad as he looks.

You know what I hate most about this situation right now?

How the person who stole my {Meiko} gif in question is now weaponizing the "old days" of FDD {Fictional Digidestined} as a means of ignoring the current situation in which they're blatantly lying about using my Meiko gif for a hatepost they made on 0801.

WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACTUALLY CELEBRATE 0801 TOO.

And how they're a ~fellow Adventure{s} fan~ from ~the old days~---

Before "D.N.I."s ever existed on this Site, we used banners like these.

ALL OF US HAD THEM. ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. BECAUSE PEOPLE KEPT STEALING OUR SHIT FOR THEIR OWN WEB SHRINES AND NEVER OWNED UP TO IT WHEN CAUGHT.

I literally had one of the first 02 O.C. shrines on the web. If people like that visited my site, they were confronted with this banner on the very first page. It looked similar to the page of the Neo-cities revival I've been working on for over a month now.

This is what I have to emphasize now.

People still will blatantly ignore it, talk over you, try to convince you in their own damn terms "actually, this is the IMAGE STEALING website, so of COURSE I'm allowed to steal your images, creations, fan things and every single one of your O.C.s with their exact palettes too, you didn't create this O.C. you only ~re-colored~ it and those pixels {by hand}!!1!!!!" and "you should be grateful, it means free publicity!!!" and "YOU DONT OWN *COPY-RIGHT* TO OTHERS *ORIGINAL I.P.s*""

They'll wax poetic about the "old O.C. days" on D.A., when I was on D.A. too, I STILL HAVE AN ACCOUNT THERE, and I would have confronted them their about stealing my shit too, and I *might* have gotten a slightly better response from D.A. back then.

They'll post about their O.C.s while blatantly ignoring me DEMANDING them multiple times to remove my gif.

They'll talk about the "~old Adventure fan base~" "~before all these CRINGE AUTISTS ruined it~" all without knowing I WAS AN ~AUTIST~ EVEN BACK THEN, AND I HID THIS FACT BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE THIS.

They'll claim they have ~nostalgia~.

Nostalgia{/c goggles} in DigiAdvs standom shouldn't be a term used to refer to an Adventure fan, or an 02 fan, or a TAICHI FAN OR FAN OF THE ADVENTURE CHOSEN who is showing appreciation towards that and those characters too, until people trash them, people like this making positive works for the Chosen, leave anti-semitic hate comments on their work once they know about your family and the holidays you're trying to recognize.....

They should be used to refer to people like THIS, like these "02 stans" or "Adventure-02-Kizuna" only stans {all while trashing on Meiko and Tri in the meantime} who will blatantly steal your work and reproduce it for their ~anti Tri~ HATE POSTS and mock you and call you "cringe" for confronting them.

But oh it's not just the 02 standom who's been pulling this shit.

It's Adventure stans. It's TAMERS STANS. It's even Frontier stans, even Savers stans, even Xros Wars & Young Hunters stans, even SURVIVE STANS, even stans of all the other entries in the series who have pulled the same kind of shit. FREQUENTLY.

This person actually DID the right thing and removed it, even when I confronted them, even when they BLATANTLY may have even pretended to not even KNOW WHO THE HELL MEIKO WAS (when she's mentioned right there IN THE POST.)

You (general) people who never even fully finished Tri don't know who Meiko is, and yet you'll rb a post bashing a girl called Meiko and not put two and two together...

If this person could remove the gif, the person who stole it can remove it too.

Instead of waxing poetic about ~nostalgia~ for ~the good old days of O.C.s on D.A.~ where they probably believe with their whole chest ~no one would confront you over stealing their things without Permission~ (when WE ALL DID THAT THERE.)

BECAUSE YOU SHOULDN'T STEAL PEOPLE'S WORKS WITHOUT PERMISSION FOR HATE-POSTS EVEN IF WE'RE ON A DIFFERENT SITE.

And then everyone constantly complains about how

"Adventure{s}/02 fan base is dYING" and how they're SO SAD ABOUT IT

all while repeatedly pulling the kind of shit above.

It's sickening. It's sickening, it's gross, this kind of attitude in 02 standom NEEDS TO DIE.

PEOPLE LIKE THAT NEVER RESPECTED OUR WORKS AND FAN CREATIONS TO BEGIN WITH.

Episode 0

In ages long passed, Digimon waged a merciless war against one an other until at last a cruel victor emerged. For centuries, the weak were subjugated to the will of the strong, and none dared fight for their freedom. Hope had been lost to them.

That is, until a handful of humans came from another world.

Although they were at first unwelcome, it was soon discovered that by working with the humans, the Digimon gained a new power and thus the Digimon Tamers and their partners rose to fight back against the Evil that had dominated the Digital World for so long.

A hard won peace spread over their world, but as expected, it was a peace that could not last. Digimon who desired the power of humans began to cross into the other world seeking partners of their own, and not always by respectable means. Others became revolted at the concept and sought instead gain power by their own means by eliminating humans and the Digimon who sympathized with them.

A great divide grew between the Digimon, and before long new factions were rising, falling and consuming the Digital World. Fearful of their own world becoming caught in the conflict, humans retreated from the Digital plain, but were reluctant to leave their partners behind. A bridge between worlds was created, a Safe Haven known as the City of Network where humans and Digimon could meet in peace while war continued to plunder the Digital World.

Yet even this solution will not bring lasting peace to the Digimon Tamers. Out of hundreds of armies, two now remain; the Court of Angels and the Court of Demons. Their war for control of the Digital World and the threads of destiny will now once again lead the Tamers to the center of the war.

And the choice of one will rule the fate of all

So from my understanding, the Digidestined from both Inferno and Playing With Matches are from the UK. Is that the case with all the series in your FDD verse (main and side)?

That is true so far, though it's mainly a case of me being British and writing what I'm familiar with. The Inferno/Chasm casts are from a fictional South Coastal England town, and the 404 cast is Welsh (all unless otherwise specified in story). I have plans to expand it out a bit for some future stories/teams, but the main story cast will remain fictional-UK-based for human-world settings.

Odaiba Memorial

Okay. It is August 1st and as such it is Odaiba Memorial Day. So, for once I give myself the chance to just ramble a bit about Digimon, which to this autistic dude was his longest hyperfixation.

You know, in 2000 Digimon got to the German TV station, that was basically airing all the anime over here. I still gotta say, that the ad campaign they did for it, was unwise and would most certainly fire up the entire "Digimon vs Pokémon" thing here in Germany.

It went like this: "Pokémon ist der Wahn! Digimon ist der MEGAWAHN!" (translated: "Pokémon is the craze! Digimon is the mega craze!") So, as a Pokémon fan I instantly went like: "It can never be better then Pokémon!" But... not soon after I got sick with the flu and spent the afternoon sitting in front of the TV and watched Digimon. It was the final episode of the Devimon arc, so episode 13 and I... was instantly hooked. And then went on to watch it religiously.

A year later I finally got access to the internet. More specifically I was allowed to use the computer rooms at the local university during the weekends. And while I used it to learn programming, I also used it to download all the anime. lol And guess what? Digimon Tamers was just out. And while I was hooked on Adventure, that was nothing compared to Digimon Tamers.

I always loved card games and the series incorporating the card game was a big plus. But also, there was Ruki. And Ruki to me back then was the kind of female character I needed in my life. A confident, stubborn girl, who was just so cool. Like so fucking cool. I mean, look at her.

And, yeah. Digimon to me was the thing that kinda kept me alive throughout my entire youth. I watched and rewatched and then rewatched again the series. Especially Digimon Tamers. Any Digimon news would make me super excited and obviously I learned all the Digimon names, levels and types, because that is what the autistic brains does when hyperfixating on something.

While no longer my biggest fanfic project, my biggest writing project at the time back then was Digimon Tamers Generations, a sequel to Digimon Tamers consisting of Digimon Alpha Generation (7 years post-canon) and Digimon Battle Generation (10 years post canon).

Like look at these little idiots. (They are the main characters from Digimon Battle Generation.)

So, yeah... Digimon really meant a lot to me for a very long time. Does, in fact, still mean a lot to me, even though I am not quite as obsessive about it as I was before. Mostly because I am now obsessing about Castlevania xD

But yeah, man. Digimon is great. And there are just so many great memories connected to it.

For the most part, I would never have started writing, if it was not for Digimon. So I will be forever thankful to it for this reason alone!

And with this, everyone has been updated with their champion stages. Gytramon waited a long-ass time for me to get a design down I was happy with, but that’s life. Shadhamon is named and based on the shadhavar, or at least a few particular accounts of it. A carnivorous unicorn with fangs, who lures in her enemies with music produced by her flute-like horn. Her solid hooves can shatter anything that is unfortunate enough to get caught underneath them, but her real killer move are the floating, psychokinetic chakram that float either side of her flank thanks to the gold discs mounted on her. Her partner, Kali, is rather involved with this form. 6u6 horseback fighting.
