isn't it also often done without anesthesia? ("ear cropping" involves the removal of part of the ear)

also look at them without the aesthetic changes vs with it ("tail docking" or the removal of the tail is also an extremely common practice)

my doberman theriotype is very connected to my anxiety. I'm not sure why that is, maybe bc of how they're often portrayed as violent, used as guard or attack dogs, and can be a very intense and anxious breed

like– it's not a copinglink bc it's involuntary but it is a way to cope for me

when I'm around people I don't trust, when I'm anxious or irritated, I'm on guard, except instead of guarding an owner I'm loyal to, I'm guarding myself because I'm afraid and I'm angry about it. so I bark and snarl and snap my teeth, even at people who are just trying to help. And all they see is defiance.

I'm that "I get mean when I'm nervous like a bad dog" quote. I just wish people would recognize what my bared teeth and pinned ears mean for once. I just wish someone would care enough to protect me instead, to offer me treats and slowly, gently train the fear aggression out of me. I promise I can learn to be soft again. I swear I'm worth it.

Dudes this might be me

It's so interesting how my different kin types feel

Like I feel like a doberman (specificly blue) but like one that was dumped at a shelter, scared and a little lost but in the back of my mind knowing that I am loved my at least one person even if I am too scared to see it also not being able to properly express emotions (due to being cropped and docked)

And I feel like a gsd (specifically solid black) in the way that I have a job I was made for it's just haven't had the opportunity to show it off yet and also the assumption that if I'm pretty and well taken care of I'm a girl also having no in-between the most high energy and can work/play all day to being asleep on the floor

begining to question a doberman kintype, as i do have a connection to being domesticated and wearing collars etc which no other kintype has, and to having ears like a doberman (cropped ears)

i do have a wolf theritoype but its a past life theriotype and it feels different to this one, not only because its connected to nature and forests.

also to aggression and protectiveness but that could be literally any other kintype

another separation from wolf is that i dont get the urge to bark as much as when im wolf shifted but there is another canine in me that likes to bark and growl, and that one has a low, loud bark.

also less long, fluffy fur unlike my wolf theritoype.

when i feel shifty that way, i dont feel a tail which goes with having straight upright ears like a doberman.

any other dobermans have any advice/experience that could help?
