Wedding post part 2! The ceremony!

Crow fidgeted nervously as he awaited his beautiul bride's arrival. It all felt so embarrassing. He wasn't used to so many eyes on him at once. His claws snagged slightly in the lace of his tunic as he anxiously fussed with the hem. He almost missed the guests standing to watch Moon's entrance, but once the harp's first chord rang out, he snapped up to attention.

As soon as he laid eyes on her his anxiety melted into a smile that threatened to tear away his cheek stitching.

Her hair was shining brilliantly in the dappled sunlight, and he could already smell the fresh picked herbs in her hair and bouquet from the other end of the aisle. As she approached, the lovely scent enveloped him and he felt so safe it was as if the crowd had disappeared around them. They sang their vows as their hands were tied with a soft lace. It was only when everyone cheered that Crow remembered they were watching. But she was here with him now and that made all the difference.

And the first dance!

Moon couldn't tear her eyes away from husband as they glided across the dance floor. She loved the way it felt to call him that. Her sweet, loving, beautiful husband. Neither of them would be alone again. They vowed to stay by the other's side as much as possible.

She felt like they were the only two in the world; like they were dancing on a perfect cloud just for them. Crow's strong arms held her close, claws catching in her long hair. It was only when the chandelier came into view that she realized she truly had created a magic cloud under their feet. They giggled to themselves as it drifted them around the room full of loved ones. The guests applauded and hollered at the lovely display. Some of them threw their own magic into the air, adding lovely sparkles and swirls of color to the atmosphere. It would be quite the night to remember.

This Artifice is a Faewood hybrid on a Super dollfie body. I painted and color matched them myself :3

Good news!! 8/2/23

This morning I woke up to an excited text saying we'd found a bunch of the Dollfie Dreams, including one I wasn't aware of that had been delivered shortly before the theft. They identified the lot through some unique flaws, and while some had sold already, we are in the middle of a buyback for some of the remaining ones. (Keeping the platform and seller to myself because I don't feel right just yelling their name on tumblr. They're sweet enough to work with my friends to get the dolls home in a way they can afford and that's what matters; suffice to say it is a reliable platform and they have generous terms and good feedback.)

Jim is rattled now that he's under the microscope--in his own words, "if [he] had to give back everything [he] was told was stolen, [he] would be out of business"--and likely in a hurry to offload what he's still got that's saleable. (There've been some related local incidents, I'll update y'all on the details once it's resolved.) So keep an eye out for anybody listing dolls they can't identify, or are labeled but have (?) next to the sculpt name, which is how he labeled the hybrids he listed initially. Some will be headcapless or missing bodies/parts or have mismatched hands, as he broke and disassembled a bunch, too. Appearing with a simultaneous lot of furbies is another potential tell.

The vinyls are officially accounted for minus the MBD Nicolas, who does not appear to have been in the lot. We're mostly just looking for resin and heads now.

They finally have legal rep beyond just the property law end of things, and the unofficial position is that things will move more swiftly in light of recent events. Couch surfing unfortunately eventually has an expiration date, and theirs is the 8/31. If anyone would like to help out with moving costs, @sweetsugarpain is offering tarot and related services as incentive, and I have clothing and wigs left over from this year's DCD swap on offer.

zephyr doll is an imomodoll 75, with jointed hands from DF-H

rali doll is a wip but she has an obitsu 50 skeleton/shins/feet/arms/hands, angel philia thighs, dollfie dream dynamite hips, and a dollfie dream flat L bust... shes a piece of fuckin work

their heads are sculpted by me with luv... hehe

anywho i usually get my clothes from luts! they carry a lot of nice stuff for zephyr's size (a whopping 2 feet tall...) i havent looked around for much stuff for rali yet. they also make dolls themselves as well

i actually ordered directly from imomodoll's tao bao shop via a proxy (super buy) to get zephyr's doll body which idk. i dont really recommend it's scary as fuck navigating that site. as for rali, i ordered the original obitsu 50 cm from parabox.jp and hybrided/modified the dollfie dream parts (ordered from the volks usa site) onto the skeleton. I got the AP thigh parts from faithz

if you're interested in smaller scale bjds I reccomend 1/6 scale lil guys. they're about 30cm tall usually (around barbie doll height) but typically, from what i know about, have more chibi/child-like proportions!

i've heard good things about tinyfox's 1/6 line and also imomodoll's 1/6 line - they're both vinyl bjds and have an internal skeleton as opposed to a resin bjd which are strung tightly with elastic. also i will say imomodoll and tinyfox have some suprisingly cheapo prices (around 200 iirc???) for their fullsets which include a faceup/wig/clothes/eyes/etc along with the doll itself.

i'm anti recast (which everyone should be btw. dont steal people's art. jesus) so i dont reccommend anyone shop for dolls themselves (like heads/bodies/etc) on aliexpress, temu, ebay or etsy--- they're usually stolen from the artists.

sites i can reccomend for buying legit doll stuff is alice's collection, jane's doll land, clover singing, and i think i've heard good things about stacy's pink ocean but i can't remember lol. those sites i just linked carry all sorts of stuff from official dolls to clothes and accessories to maintenance items.

if you're interested in getting vinyl dolls i recommend starting with an obitsu parabox like i did! they're cheaper than dollfie dreams and if you dont like their head sculpts for their dolls it's mega easy to mod a DD head onto one.

So I haven’t been posting any pics of my dolls as displayed because I decided a couple years back to start liquidating my collection so there’s less stuff to manage when I finally can move.

But the BJD generally aren’t on the chopping block, though I have let go of a couple of them that I didn’t really click with (Ji and Bach).

Most of these were bought with my own money, though some were gifts and some were won in drawings.

The majority of my dolls are hybrids.

I do include my vinyl/ABS dolls in the BJD category because of aesthetics.

I tried to buy some DD fist hands in white. I foolishly didn't double check the item number on Volks and went by what I thought I was seeing in the ebay listing. And after forever in shipping I finally got ... v hands. 😅

Apart from not being the fist hands I wanted for Poochie, they're also tiny. I had hoped their regular size would be fine despite preferring the large hands. But yeah ... these aren't great against Poochie's huge noggin. And the hole for the wrist connection doesn't work too good on my hand carved wrist balls because it's teensy.

At the very least, the color is a lot closer than semi white. That's all I got.
