**He first noticed it during the comedown periods after panic attacks. He'd get all floaty and ditzy for a bit. Brought it up with his therapist. They recommended looking into age regression and to see if he could potentially use it beneficially. - Sure, why not. Initially just got himself some adult coloring books and markers and started watching kids shows while he found his way back into a stable headspace. - It, eventually, did escalate. Namely with his regression being triggered at cognito, being the first time that had ever happened with someone else (Andre and Reagan) present.

He no longer struggles as much with accepting that side of himself. It's just the way he is. He's an adult, who sometimes just isn't. And that's okay. - **It's become more peaceful as well, no longer being exclusively triggered by panic attacks but also now being somewhat voluntary to de-escalate in certain situations.

His age range is both broad and hard to pinpoint! So he'll be sitting with a pacifier and a plushie...watching or doing something entirely not toddler appropriate!

He likes chewlery, teethers & pacifiers at any age! Though, he does have a general preference for chewlery!

Is really into just watching people, especially Reagan!! (she's still nervous about having the kid in her lab though, she doesn't like children, they are sticky…)

Definitely a little displaced in time, prefers 80s nostalgia over his actual 90s childhood

Loves to learn, anything and everything, bothering people with 2nd grade level fun facts is considered an activity for him

Fidgety. Never stops moving. His energy levels seem to somehow increase !? Loves outdoor play when he succeeds in pestering someone long enough to actually play with him!

Tends to float more around middle-space, at about 10-12!

The one thing he kept from his actual childhood is a yellow puppy luvvie,, it's still in pretty good shape and he's often toting it with him around the house!

Overall I think he's really just the sweetest little kid. He needs a fair amount of reassurance from those watching him that he, in fact, is not being too much or annoying. And they, IN FACT, are doing this because they love him and want to see him happy!!

**He does have his moments, not surprisingly. He's not always a happy camper when small, especially if negatively triggered. Sometimes it's a bit of a gamble if he'll come up from an episode and stay in his adult headspace, slip under and relax, or if you're gonna have an especially teary and clingy kiddo.

The gang loves him. Reagan would commit unspeakable atrocities for this kid. Gigi just wants to shower him in prezzies from rich auntie! Andre and Myc are..questionable babysitters...but nothing has happened yet! (because no one lets them babysit.) And Glenn has to be verbally whacked on occasion - no, Mr Dolphman, Brett does not want to learn how to [insert strange dolphin surgery veteran activity] !!!

THE SIDES (+ extra) & THEIR PACIS ! (headcanons)

Not all of these will have images! Some of them will if I can find an example of what I am imagining :)

Roman - obviously, very disney themed or prince themed. He'd prefer red pacifiers, because it's his colour !!!, but will make an exception if it's a character he likes.

The 1st 1 is a Queen of Hearts themed paci, but I think Roman would love all the red details and especially the little crown. I also think Roman loves lilo & stitch (more than usual when he's regressing) & would have a blue paci if it means he can have stitch on his paci.

(Also I think stitch reminds him of his brother Remus and he loves his brother! Even if big him denies it)

Orange - we haven't met him, but I think he loves orange juice and probably has a paci covered in oranges. (Big him is so upset everyone keeps comparing him to an orange and gets even more upset that little him loves oranges).

Janus - has to have a snake on it. If it doesn't have a snake on it he cries and cries and cries until Roman/whoever summons a new one/adds one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a paci that has snakes on it :(

It can be any colour and decorated any way, but it has to have a snake (or multiple, preferably). He also loves when his pacis are the colour of his caregiver(s)!!

I did find this one by bellesbinkies & I think it's right up his alley anyway :3 just imagine there's a snake on it, or janus will wail.

Remus - bright green and covered in as many charms and jewels as he can put on it. Once it becomes unusable and he starts all over with a new one!! I think he has a gir from invader zim center piece or a skelanimal (most likely lolita the dolphin).

He also 100% somehow chews through the all rubber pieces of his binkie . No one knows how he does it.

Patton - FROGS !!! He most likely owns like 20 pacis and theyre all different. One has a frog centerpiece and another one has a dog and another one has a rabbit and another one has a cat— he needs a million (even if logan tells him its impossible to own a million). He likes to switch out through out the day, he doesn't want any paci feeling unloved !!!

I bet he also loves pacis with shakers!

Logan - probably has around 3 or 4 pacis that he switches through, but his most used is something that looks like the one below. He also has his CG (or himself) glue on little letters that spells out "little star" :)

The rest of his pacis are dark blue with various themes, like doctor who and ocean animals! He has a bingo paci too (He loves bluey!)

Virgil - i found this one and this is SO virgil. He probably goes all out for his binkies !! He wants his binkie to be "spoopy", but not super scary or else he gets really scared (remus once tried gifting him one that was just a little too much for baby virgil & he couldnt sleep alone for weeks).

He uses one paci at a time, usually for months, but once he gets tired of it, he will swap it out.

EXTRA !!

C!Thomas - has a steven universe paci. It's red with a yellow shaker full of little stars (like steven's shirt)

Emile Picani - a snoopy paci that's black and white with little charms

Remy/Sleep - all black paci, covered in little "z"s with the words "sleepy baby" on it.

Babysitter Leshawnaaaaa?

im guessing this was a fic req (correct me if I’m wrong) so I’m gonna do it as a fic !! i don’t have much to write really 3: apologies in advance !!

littles ; bridgette + lindsay

Bridgette and Lindsay were relaxing in Leshawna’s cabin, playing with their toys together. “Hey babies!” Leshawna says as both of them run up to hug her. She accepts the hugs, smiling at how happy both of them are. “Well, you guys are certainly sweet, aren’t you?” She giggles. She sits down on the floor, getting ready to play with them. “So, what we got here today?” She asks, looking at the large amount of toys on the floor.

Lindsay is currently wearing a princess dress on top of her head, as she used the wrong hole to get it on, meanwhile Bridgette is playing with her surfer Barbie and sea creature toys. “Pssssh.” She says, mocking the sound of a wave, although she was using her pacifier, so it was more of a “pffff”. Leshawna giggled at both of them before helping Lindsay.

“Well, babygirl, I don’t think you put this on right.” Leshawna says, fixing it so it’s on her now. Lindsay cheers as the dress is now on, going to show Bridgette. “S bery pwetty!” Bridgette says, staring at the beautiful dress. There was glitter on it and it was a beautiful shade of red. It was stunning, even. It had ribbons on it. Lindsay put on her crown after, doing little hops around the cabin.

“Hey, sweetpea, you doing alright?” Leshawna says, watching Bridgette sniffle and cry. Bridgette doesn’t respond verbally, she just sits there, tears rolling down her cheek. “Oh.. c’mere sweet girl..” Leshawna says, giving Bridge a hug. Bridgette sniffles, mumbling a quiet little ‘fank you’ to Leshawna. “Your welcome darling.” Leshawna says, smiling at the little girl as she runs back to go play with her surfer Barbie doll.

Leshawna wasn’t always Bridgette’s babysitter, but currently Gwen and Courtney were doing things, so she’d do. Lindsay is now playing Barbies with Bridgette. “M a pretty princess” Lindsay says, before stopping herself and pointing at a marine animal. She pointed to the dolphin, asking if it was a shark. “Oh no, honey, that’s a dolphin!” Leshawna says gently, making sure Lindsay knows she didn’t do anything wrong and it was just a simple misunderstanding.

Lindsay says a little ‘oooh’ before picking up the dolphin and making her Barbie ride it. Bridgette giggles, glad she gets to have a play date with Lindsay and hang out with Leshawna. Leshawna never babysat often, but she was really glad she got to get this chance to.

In which Zariel struggles with stillness.

Waves sweep softly over an infinity of silver sand. Her fingers slide through it, the motion followed by a faint cascade of perfect chimes as each grain returns to the whole. Harmonised, always. Zariel looks up at the shimmering calm of the twilit sky and breathes slowly. It’s a miracle still, to breathe slowly. To allow her heart to beat like a heart, and not a war-drum.

She leans back against Lulu, whose mammoth form—though large—is but a speck among specks on this endless beach that stretches out, eternally, from the base of Mount Celestia. Lulu shifts and snuffles; one huge, liquid gold eye cracks open, confirms sleepily that Zariel is still there, then closes again.

They come here a lot of late. They came here a lot of old, but gone are the days of drawing battle plans in the sand, and whispering impossible dreams into the surf. Now Zariel is content to simply be, and Lulu is ecstatic to be with her.

Only…she trails her fingers through the sand, grooves that collapse in on themselves the moment her hand lifts away. She’s not content. She doesn’t know if she will ever be content again—if she was ever content to begin with. She suspects she was only ignorant, and then she was outraged, then prideful, and foolish, and lost.

She does not know if it is possible to be content, or if such a state is merely a construct meant to pacify.

Zariel’s hand strays to the blade at her hip, bound to its scabbard with delicate peace-thread. She’s sworn not to draw it again unless there is dire need. That she will not run headlong into any fight she can find to prove herself—the Seven Heavens do not need her to prove herself, but she’s afraid she’ll want to anyway. Her form implies redemption, but how can she earn forgiveness sitting quietly on a beach?

Lulu would say she doesn’t need to earn anything, that what she needs is to rest. To find stillness, and peace, and joy, the way she used to have it in abundance. Soaring the skies of Mount Celestia, up through the highest heavens she can reach, with Lulu at her side—this does bring her no small measure of joy. And seeing Lulu happy; this too brings her pleasure.

Lulu deserves happiness, after all the years of misery Zariel put her through.

Something silver darts through the waves. The sharp, bright movement spikes adrenaline through her heart, and without conscious thought, her fingers wrap tight around her sword hilt. Her eyes catch her instinct before she can draw the blade; just dolphins, souls, traversing their afterlife. A moment later, they’re out of sight, and Zariel relaxes her grip.

She’s still not used to being here. She keeps waiting for the ground to crack open and unleash screams of agony, for the skies to bleed, for the azure clarity of the rivers to run with bloody carnage. It’s so hard to get the war-drums out of her heart.

Lulu keeps encouraging her to forget, to move on. Because Archduke Zariel was not her Zariel, but some other creature—the real Zariel was trapped inside that monster, screaming and weeping at the atrocities the Lord of the First committed. Why shouldn’t she move on, when it wasn’t her that did those things?

It was her. Every part of it was her, and now she’s seen the kind of person she can become, she’s afraid that if she does move on, if she forgets for even a moment, she’ll one day make the same mistakes again. Thus the peace-thread, and the promises of pacifism, even though she wants to fight, aches to. She’s terrified that if she does, she won’t be able to stop.

Zariel moves her hand from hilt to wrist, running her fingers over the soft, white silk that wraps her stump. There have been countless offers to repair it, and countless pitying looks at her continued refusal. They think she’s choosing suffering, that it’s a penance, but it’s neither of those things.

It’s a consequence. Because people like her—angel or Archdevil—spend too much of their eternities free from consequence.

Lulu snorts and raises her head. Her trunk ruffles Zariel’s hair. “You’re doing that thing again.”

Zariel pets her trunk. “What thing?”

“The thing where you get all thoughtful and sad.”

“I’m not sad.”

“But you are thinking.”

“Yes.” Zariel shifts so she can see the face of her oldest, dearest friend. She smiles, because Lulu likes her smile. “You do not need to worry.”

“Promise?”

“I promise.”

Lulu huffs, and settles more comfortably into the sand. Then, without warning, she shrinks back down to her ordinary hollyphant size. Zariel topples over with a cry as Lulu swoops up in a trail of golden sparks, laughing.

“You always fall for that!”

Zariel spits celestial sand and wipes her mouth. “Fly fast, little hollyphant. I shall give you a ten second head start.”

“Generous today!” Lulu calls, already speeding away. By the time Zariel is on her feet, she’s gotten a generous lead along the infinite shore, and it will take some doing to catch up with her. For someone so small, Lulu is deceptively fast.

Zariel leaps into the air and as she chases down Lulu and her laughter, she feels her maudlin mood falling away. It will be back, she knows, but for now there is the wind in her face and her friend in the skies, and though her heart pounds, it remains just that—a heart.

hai guys just passing by and adding to the possibility of faimet of being a lime, so some ppl say that limes could be lowblooded seadwellers since eqquius(or was it aranea?) said that once in the comic(i have no fucking idea where that source abt eqquius saying that is im sorry) abt limes vs seadwellers and/or highbloods/the condense killing all the limes n shit but some people disagree cause if we all agree that karkat is a mutated lime then why doesnt he have a tail or anything seadweller-y? well to answer that isss,,, mutations too, faimet is most likely a muted lime as well cause she's pretty much the only troll we see so far with a tail, and karkat's ofc if he actually is a lime is his candy red blood, but why do i say he is a lime(if limes are seadwelling?) is simply cause of crab dad, he's essentailly the only 'seadwelling' lusus (most crabs need water to survive, crabs in order to live out the water have to keep their gills wet and i am not gonna try to find out what kind of crab karkat's lusus is considering it lived that far without water its a fuckin monster crab, unless tap water is ok) that takes care of a 'landdwelling 'troll we see (unless i missed something then im stupid) aside from gamzee's lusus but i think that wouldnt count? since marvus canonically having a land dolphin lusus purples might just have the same thing as limes aka having mostly/lusii that are half land and water animals(...dwellers..?), also if this idiot theory proves correct(low chance) then limes could have been highbloods since theyre pretty much almost like purplebloods (if it werent for ig being as weak as lowbloods??) and are the caste that are really good at pacifying (that also being a power?!?!??!) the most violent caste so yes faimet is a lime 101% (i am ready to get called stupid i wanna learn)(also yeah this turned more into a lime theory than a faimet theory lol)

In Search Of Meaning

The woman on Facebook said I didn’t understand her comment and accused me of being sarcastic.  I thought I was engaging in subtle teaching.  She needed to see what she’d written made no sense and that blaming others for misunderstanding her wasn’t kosher.  The person who sends the message is responsible for its clarity.  My nudge enflamed rather that pacified, however.  I might as well have written she was writing drivel and moved on.  Recent discoveries in the animal kingdom suggest mammals and birds have language skills. While not advanced, they can combine ideas. A bird can caw both a warning and advice to its neighbor. “A snake hides beneath your branch so come here.”  Humans can do more than cobble two thoughts together.  They can express complex ideas. Complexity invites errors, of course, because words carry emotion as well as information. Science abandoned communal language in favor of mathematics for this reason. The symbol for Pi, (π,) rarely enranges an individual.    Whether the brain is engaged in emotional or logical thinking, it is an inventive machine. It uses the senses to shape our world, giving us snippets of information that may differ from what dolphins and trees require, but which keeps us safe.  Prediction is its primary function.  “If I fall from this branch, the snake concealed in the autumn leaves below will eat me.”   Ironically, the organ on which we heavily depend is a mystery to us.  Why, for example, does the dying brain continue to function after the heart has stopped?  In its final moments, it floods its tissues with the same gamma rays that produce dreams or hallucinations, conjuring blissful scenes, if near-death survivors can be believed.  Are these visions intimations of heaven?  If so, why do dying rats share the same gamma experience?  Unsurprisingly, one question begets another. When a person falls into a prolonged catatonic state, where does consciousness go? Science has made some progress in this direction. They’ve learned these comas have to do with antibodies that alter receptors that bind glutamate…disrupting how neurons can send signals to one another.  As scientists learn more about our biology, they may discover how to restore somnambulists to full consciousness. But will we ever learn where these dreamers have been?  Sigmund Freud devoted himself to exploring the unconscious, that world to which the afflicted may have escaped. Mainly, that part of the brain regulates bodily functions.  Conscience is unnecessary to keep our hearts beating, for example. Even so, stress can pierce our hidden mind’s armor. We may suffer inexplicable breakdowns or possibly go mad. Sometimes artistic or spiritual revelations explode from the same murky depths like bursts of fireworks. Several years ago, I commented on Barbara Ehrenreich’s book, Living with a Wild God.   In it, she described a moment when the heavens opened and poured into her.  A non-believer, she didn’t rush to the nearest church to bend a knee before its altar. Nonetheless, the experience did give her pause. Having had a similar one, I, too, was forced to pause.  Had I stumbled upon an alternate form of consciousness?  Was the mind, like the elevator of an infinite department store, capable of opening its door on many levels? So much of what we think we know is ephemeral.  Yet in our hubris, we dare to pursue a multiverse of our making, one where we are both omniscient and omnipotent. I refer to Artificial Intelligence (AI). With it, we explore meta-worlds where no human thought has gone before.  Optimists see AI as a plane of good intentions. One day, they imagine,disease will be no more.  One day, even death shall die.  Not everyone is sanguine.  How will this tool fare in the hands of bad actors, they wonder.  Creating ethical standards is a necessary step, but then… few rogues will care about that. And who should create these standards? Russia? Saudi Arabia,? Perhaps North Korea could suggest a shining path. At a crossroads in a giant step for mankind, AI poses many questions. My choice would be to move slowly.  Paraphrasing a line Robert Frost’s famous poem, ”Before I built a Universe, I’d ask to know about the rules, who was being admitted or barred, and to whom it was likely to give offense. * Our species has wandered the planet for 200,000 years, yet we have no agreement on the meaning of good and evil. Linguistics is a weak vessel for this purpose as it can both clarify and disassemble. No wonder even the most sincere stumble.  Whether language informs our brain or the brain informs language, or the process is some endless loop between the two, I do not know.  What’s certain is that communication is difficult and words are incapable of judging the worth of their cargo.  Whether we convey truth, ignorance, or lies rests with our intentions and much of that lies in our unconscious.   Language does manage to communicate, though.  Mostly, it reveals information about ourselves.   *Adapted from Rober Frost”s “Mending Wall.”
