this is one of my favorite scene in monster to watch and read to be honest 🥺. (i'm so normal about this grandpa.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
crying at the fact that he asked someone to take the pictures for him at least three times, he's so old jewish man to me..
it's funny to me how his caricature is just him (in all his beauty) because he's perfect and has no flaw.
(i love you pepaw like the english speaking people say i think.)
i want him to show me all the pictures of all the holidays he took.

Re-watching an old anime...
I just finished re-watching an old anime series called Monster (2004) based on a Japanese manga series of the same anime written and illustrated by Naoki Urasawa. And OMG I just missed all of these characters so fucking much!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Johan Liebert still gives me such chills and goosebumps and I hate him for that y'all 😭
~~~~~~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never thought that I would find a rugged-looking man like Dr. Kenzo Tenma so attractive! 😳
~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Dieter is just so pure and innocent for this world! Protect him at all cost! 😭
~~~~~~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nina/Anna, Dr. Reichwein, Grimmer and Inspector Lunge are all so magnificent and entertaining in their own ways as well. Absolutely love them! 🤗
I personally think it's very sweet how Tenma and Eva know what the other thinks/plans
i’m sooo crazy about monster... it absolutely kills me that johan’s entire personality is based on seeing almost all life as totally worthless, on doing the cruelest thing they can think of at any moment, on having psychological control over everyone. and so much of the series is about questions of what life is even worth, and how much pain and fear can destroy people and their morals
whereas tenma. and nina. and dieter and grimmer and dr. reichwein and so many other characters are defined by how much they care about people, how much they value human life and are willing to put themselves in danger to stop johan.  tenma is willing to ruin his entire life and throw away his wonderful career because he feels responsible for dozens of deaths just because he saved a dying child’s life, and he wants to carry that burden all on his own so that no one else gets hurt in the process.
and i think the contrast between how fragile everyone good is and how untouchable johan is really highlights how difficult it is to be kind and take care of people. i find that struggle makes all the moments of kindness, where tenma is helping someone just because he can and he wants them to stop hurting, so fucking impactful to me
We seriously don’t talk enough about Dr Reichwein. He was a father to Tenma, Nina and Dieter, he literally adopted the three of them.
I just know they lived together happily at the end.
I mean, Reichwein lived alone before they came to his life, I know Reichwein felt a little bit lonely but at the end I just know he feels happier with them.
He was more of a father to Tenma than his own parents, he was always there when Tenma got arrested. And Reichwein always took care of Nina when she had her PTSD episodes. Plus, the way he cared for Dieter it was so sweet, like a grandpa and grandson 😭
I love thinking of them on Christmas Day, halloween, Easter, their birthdays, Dieter’s first day of school, Dieter’s soccer games, going on vacation.
Stop. Found family is my favorite trope.
Just finished reading Monster by Urusawa Naoki, I don't know what to feel. I feel empty. But anyway-
Ohh, I absolutely love Dr. Tenma, even after he had been through, he stayed true to his believe. Also Nina/Anna, Dieter, Mr. Reichwein and many more. I didn't expect I would love so many characters from this series. As for Eva and Lunge, I really hated them at first, but I finally like them at the end.
Johan, I don't know what to feel about him. To be honest, he's the reason why I read Monster, since I always love great villains. I want to know more about his character. He's an enigma even before I read the manga. But now, I have so many questions. I never think about a fictional character like this.
The last, Grimmer. I admit he didn't have that much impression on me at first. But I'm really sad when he died.
Anyway, overall I really enjoyed reading this masterpiece. It's been a while since the last time I read something so intriguing. After all I'm rather picky when it comes to manga, novel or any piece of literature. I can't wait to reread it again.
Prompt:
Grimmer would definitely work at a dog pound if he wasn't a journalist.
At first he doesn't think much about dog or any kind of pets because he never had any chance to interact with animals. But then Tenma/Dieter/Nina casually feeds stray animals, he become curious; he asks why did a dog whines? Why do cats purr? Sometimes cat bites to play? What are their diet? Dogs like leaves???
Dieter wanted to keep one, Tenma/Dr. Reichwein disagree but yet Grimmer is really curious and begged along with Dieter. Both making puppy eyes 🥺
So they had one dog.
Then two.
Then...
“Wolfgang, as much as I love you, this is too much dog in one apartment.”
They found a humble man that runs a dog pound with the charity of people around town and Grimmer gladly wanted to work for free.
Every week/month Tenma, Dieter, Nina and sometime Lunge visits them.
There's this one particular old dog that stares wistfully at the other dog. He didn't bark but sometimes aid the disabled dog with their food. “His name is Heinz. What a coincidence right?” Grimmer grinned ear to ear.
Heinz. Heinrich Lunge.
He smiled, and stand beside the dog. When Grimmer calls them for dinner, the dog turned around, meeting Lunge's eyes, as if beckoning. Lunge smiled, and trotted beside Heinz; walking in sync.
End :)
I think we deserved to know a little more about Dr. Reichwein, specifically about his work... yeah he was in the police force but I really want to know how and why he was apparently known for being able to perform physiognomic readings. I think it happens more than once that he is shown a photo and asked if the pictured person is inclined for evil. That pseudoscience would have already been so outdated at the time and it's absolutely wild to me how casually it's discussed... like it's an ordinary thing to be knowledgeable about
Vorlesewoche im November an Jenaer Kindergärten
Tumblr media
Bücher haben eine ganz besondere Rolle an Jenaer Kitas
Die nächsten Tage nehmen Bücher eine besonders große Rolle in vielen Jenaer Kindergärten ein. Denn anlässlich des Vorlesetages am Freitag, 18.11.2022, veranstalten einige eine ganze Vorlese- bzw. Bücherwoche. So auch der kommunale Kindergarten Regenbogen und der AWO-Kindergarten Jenzigblick. ➤ Weitere Nachrichten aus Jena >> Kiga Regenbogen  „Vorlesen fördert Kinder auf vielfältige Weise. Sie lernen aufmerksam zuzuhören und auf Details zu achten. Dadurch wird ihre Konzentrationsfähigkeit gestärkt. Zudem erweitert es ihren Wortschatz und unterstützt ihre Sprachkompetenz. Deshalb haben wir eine ganze Bücherwoche organisiert“, erklärt Oxana Tretyak, Sprachfachkraft des Kindergartens ThEKiZ Regenbogen.
(Foto: Kiga Regenbogen) So können die Kinder nicht nur ihre Lieblingsbücher mitbringen, sondern in einer Bücherwerkstatt auch ein eigenes Buch herstellen. Zahlreiche Vorlesepaten werden in dieser Woche erwartet und die Kinder können sich auf vielfältige Methoden freuen, wie ein Erzähltheater, Geschichtensäckchen oder das digital begleitete Vorlesen. Am Freitag organisiert der Förderverein zudem einen Bücherverkauf. Anzeige: Jena Fotokalender 2023 – Die Facetten einer Stadt auf 13 wunderschönen Motivseiten
Jenaer Fotomomente 2023 – Wundervolle Aufnahmen für deine Wand im Format A2 und A3 Kiga Jenzigblick „Bücher an sich sind für Kinder schon ein ganz spannendes Medium. Sie regen die Fantasie an. Die Kinder können in fremde Welten eintauchen und sich ganz eigene statt vorgegebene Bilder ausmalen“, erklärt Heide Broda, Leiterin des Kindergartens Jenzigblick. Ihre Einrichtung arbeitet im Rahmen der Vorlesewoche auch mit dem Jenaer Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium zusammen. So kommt eine 7. Klasse vorbei, um den Kita-Kindern vorzulesen. Einen anderen Tag können die Kinder ihre Lieblingsbücher mitbringen, die dann gemeinsam gelesen werden. Zudem werden Geschichten nur teilweise vorgelesen und die Kinder denken sich ein eigenes Ende aus.  Vorlesetag am Freitag, 18. November Am Freitag zum bundesweiten Vorlesetag kommen Eltern, Omas und Opas in beide Einrichtungen und lesen den Kindern vor. Zudem erwartet der Kiga Regebogen den Thüringer Landtagsabgeordneten Torsten Wolf. Oberbürgermeister Dr. Thomas Nitzsche besucht in diesem Jahr die Kita Jenzigblick. Read the full article
