I recently started watching The X-Files👽 I’m on season 2 and I’m loving it! The 90s-ness of it is just so spectacular, and the weirdness is delightful. I have many many thoughts which I’ll probably share eventually. But if you want to follow my watch journey, I occasionally liveblog over on my sideblog @dragonanne4fun 😂

Anyway, here’s a sketch of some fanart I’m working on. I love how both of the leads have very distinct features—it makes drawing stylized likenesses so much easier 😂

It's Appreciate A Dragon Day, according to one of my friends, so I would like to take this time to appreciate Soni, and all the other AWESOME dragons in your series!! I love the way you've built them into your world, it's super cool!!

Thank you so much!!🥰 I always forget about Appreciate a Dragon Day until it comes 😂 Waking up to this warmed my heart, and I had to draw Soni to include in my response 💚

Fun fact: the drawing of Soni in the prologue of The Killing Thought is not actually quite an accurate depiction of her. This is much closer. I’m still learning and honing my skills when it comes to drawing dragons, and I’ve grown a lot even since doing the illustrations from my book. So please enjoy this “proper” design for Soni as a hatchling 😂

First art of 2023 is fanart, I guess. The last couple of weeks I’ve been reading The Lunar Chronicles with @aceofstars16 I’ve never read them before, but it’s been a blast! Cress was the last book I finished before the new year, and I blazed through it, reading most of it on New Year’s Eve 😂

Last week I finished Rook di Goo by Jenni Sauer, and I loved it!!!✨💕

I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but the Goodreads reviews were promising, and I was not disappointed!!!

So many times I found myself burying my face in the book to giggle because of character interactions or hilarious scenarios! It was a delight!!

Of all the characters, I think Ginger formed the clearest mental image in my head, so she was the first to be drawn. I very much want to draw some other characters, but I don’t know when I’ll get to them.

So anyway, if you haven’t already read this book, go snag a copy right now and find a nice mug of tea and a cozy spot on the couch!! It’ll be well worth it!💖

There’s a very rough AU coming together in my mind of post-rotj. They find a way to revert Rex to his chronological age. It’s got trauma-stricken Rex due to the fact that an unintended side effect to the reversal is that growing into an old man and then rewinding your genes and suddenly becoming young again gives him a weird sort of survivor’s guilt (complete with wretched nightmares). And then there’s Ahsoka who feels guilty for leaving him alone all those years after Malachor and is also having her heart ripped open seeing him in pain from the gene treatment and its side effects. They had both hoped this would give him an opportunity for a semblance of a normal life and it just didn’t.

#I know I don’t post much rexsoka but…yeah I kinda ship it (I’m picky tho. the whole accelerated aging thing makes it a mess ngl) #plus I mainly only ship it in fan content. #like yes. I adore every single one of their soft canon interactions #but I think it would be my worst nightmare for them to be officially canon #the only thing that would be acceptable to me would be if they kinda behaved like kanera did for the first 3 or so seasons of rebels #it’s HEAVILY implied and they tease and are kinda affectionate but it’s not actually confirmed #rexsoka #captain rex #ahsoka tano #Star Wars rebels #swr #my art #dragonannedraws
