One of the things in drawtectives season 3 I’m most excited about is learning. How. York learns to read

Like are we talking Jancy staying late in the office with those baby flashcards (tho she skips “t is for train” just. Just in case it brings up unpleasant memories), and then slowly building it up in difficulty until he can read books by himself?? Maybe he gets a library card and realises he actually loves reading and starts getting recs from Jancy (though they probably have different tastes). Just. Something sweet and family like :3

Or. Did York teach himself?? Purely. So he could jumpscare Grandma and Rosé and maybe do a bit where he pretends he could always read

I like both of these options and either way. I feel like he’d be very intrigued when Rosé introduces him to bao3

Okay drawtectives sleepy head canons lets go.

Rosé sleeps with a fan on. She can’t be in complete silence, it’s distracting to her. I also feel like she’d watch BouTube until she fell asleep. Honestly she seems like she’d listen to boyfriends/girlfriend asmr.

She’d definitely have a body pillow (whether or not it has a character on it is her secret.). She sleeps with entirely too many blankets, she needs the weight to fall asleep but doesn’t own a weighted blanket for some reason. She tends to overheat, another reason she keeps her fan on. She’d also sleep with a lot of pillows but that’s just because she’s lonely (before the drawtectives move together.)

She sleeps in a big T-shirt and shorts instead of proper pajamas.

Grandma can only fall asleep in complete darkness. As such they’d either have blackout curtains or sleep with a face mask. I feel like he’d have a pretty strict routine of making tea before she goes to sleep.

Grenda would have the most “normal” sleeping setup I imagine. A comforter, maybe a thinner blanket too during colder seasons. For some reason they don’t make their bed as soon as she wakes up though, so he just has to make his bed while she’s already tired.

They would sleep in a nightgown.

York is a super heavy sleeper. He’ll fall asleep under any circumstances, he isn’t really picky. Floor? Why not. Standing up? Sure. In the middle of an active volcano? Easy. Unfortunately this means that he’s very difficult to wake up.

He sleeps on mattress. It has. Some blankets and… an amount of pillows. He’s pretty sure there was a sheet on the mattress at one point? It’s been so long since he’s made his bed, he isn’t really sure. But it doesn’t matter to York. He just collapses atop this amorphous pile in what looks like the worlds most uncomfortable position.

York either sleeps in whatever clothes he’s already wearing or he sleeps naked. No in between.

Jancy is almost the opposite of York, she’s a very light sleeper. She requires both complete silence and complete darkness in order to fall asleep, otherwise it just isn’t happening. She also needs things to be cold, so she’ll just turn off her cochlear and have a fan going so the humming doesn’t bother her.

She sleeps with a singular, thin blanket, and her pillow. Somehow she never messes them up when she sleeps, but she nonetheless insists upon diligently making her bed every morning.

She sleeps in a normal pajama set.

Eugene, in a similar manner to Rosé, can’t sleep when it’s totally silent. He has a white noise machine to combat this. He’s a very light sleeper, and extremely nightmare prone. I imagine he still sleeps with a nightlight, or maybe those glowy ceiling stars.

He makes his bed with two comforters and a weighted blanket. He has four pillows, two on each side of his bed with one stacked on top of each. I also think he’d sleep with stuffed animals just because he feels too guilty to get rid of them.

Eugene sleeps in a pajama set as well, and definitely owns one of those overdramatic robes with the fluff.

Hi 🥺 what if they- 👉👈 what if they got mawwied???? 💕💕💕

Okay hi I’ve been working on these on and off all month (mostly off I got really busy whoops) and I have A LOT of thoughts about a Legbone wedding (ft. the drawtectives cause they really are my blorbos) 

Anyways here’s a list of headcannons that I didn’t get to draw:

So right off the bat let’s talk OUTFITS

To me Legzi and Ryjinah had gone looking for dresses but Legzi wasn’t really pumped about any of them 

So maybe they went on a road trip (because ladies bookclub road trips my beloved) to either go look in a different boutique or to do other wedding related shenanigans 

And on the side of the road Legzi spots this rag 

And of course it’s a torn up wedding dress and suddenly she has a Vision^TM

Just Legzi being more excited about fixing up this dress than anything she could have just bought up to that point 

Because to me Legzi is someone who loves to feel like a part of the process and having all her random skills she picked up from Darkmouth 

Then design wise I wanted something puffy so I could hide how much taller I made her 

Because personally I think her using the leg stilts on her wedding day is not only very Legzi^TM but I also made myself laugh with the concept :) 

And florals because those are fun, green, and easy to make by hand (as someone who’s made a lot of ribbon flowers)!! The vines were places where the dress was really torn and needed more structural stitching 

Ryjinahs dress on the other hand I wanted to take some inspiration from her season 1 design (even though I haven’t seen it) 

Also I love a chance to draw some boob 

so anyways York’s invitation

I’ve said it before but “artists draw fan art of each other’s art” where Karina drew Ryjinah, York, Rowan, and Jacob horse all hanging out is CANON TO ME

Which is why all of those characters were invited!! :)

Anyways I imagine all the invitations had your standard stuff- names, dates, rsvp section

But where it would’ve said +1 I think Ryjinah scribbled that out and hand wrote “+2 ;)” 

Which of course Grandma would be slightly flustered by meanwhile York is like “AWESOME you guys can come!!!” 

I believe in drawtectives polycule supremacy and also York is aroace

Which also lead to my miniature leg wrestling joke :)

Oh but the second York and Rah’ōxah lock eyes they’re going to leg wrestle (Pokémon rules) 

Then they can become friends too and we can make Julia’s drawing in “pro artists redraw their old OCs” canon!!! 

Rah’ōxah is both Legzi and Ryjinahs maid of honor :) 

She’s awesome of course she can do both!!!!!!

I wish I had drawn this but to me Parker the cat officiated :)

Maybe while standing on top of Parker the horse 

Ryjinah was not pleased with this but also couldn’t say no to the combined force of Legzi and Rah’ōxah’s puppy dog eyes 

Plus Parker the cat is the only person (cat) they know who’s ordained

Oh last thing I wanted to but didn’t draw was a Rosé & Rowan interaction 

Or not even so much of an interaction but they catch each other’s gaze from across the room and freeze 

Oh more headcannons but they’re siblings to me 

I mean dyed hair? Knives? Mysterious pasts? Color schemes?? Attracted to himbos??? 

Anyways they both have moved on from their family in different directions 

So to suddenly meet again even from across the room 

Then York or Gramdma calls for Rosé and she looks away and they’re gone

But I digress 

Tbh for everyone’s outfits I kinda just went “you know what would be cute???” 

So floral dress for grandma (obviously) 

Jumpsuit + long gloves for Rosé because vibes 

Unbuttoned shirt and double breasted vest for York so he doesn’t have sleeves 

Similar thought process for Rah’ōxah because they give off similar vibes BUT I made Rah’ōxah’s the same colors as Ryjinah and Legzi so she could match both :)

Then a demon Johnny button on her outer vest kinda like the pin/broach she has in Julia’s drawing in pro artists redraw old OCs 

Rowan I just wanted to look swanky and what’s more swanky than a tailcoat? 

And for everyone but Rah’ōxah I tried to keep to their normal color schemes!! :) 

Are all these outfits practical for what I made a beach wedding on a whim? Absolutely not 

I gave pretty much all of them some sort of heels even if they are technically wedges which is better but STILL 

Beaches are fun and easy ish to draw and I never do backgrounds anyways give me a break lol 

But anyways I think that’s all my thoughts!!!

My York Headcanons

(Based mainly in either my oneshot book, or my villain!tectives AU)

-York, thanks to being half human, is actually pretty small by orc standards, he was always the runt growing up in a full-breed orc community

-He gnaws on things to keep his tusks in shape (Usually Grendan's dog toys)

-His "Blood feud" with his brother was very one-sided

-Until he learned to read/write, he'd leave Jancy cryptic drawings on her desk, trying to explain what he needed

-He eats more that the 'tectives can buy in a week's grocery money

Apropos of nothing, I present my Drawtectives Hugging Headcanons:

York is at first very confused, as they don’t have hugs in the Northern Tribes, and thinks you’re trying to put him in arm jail. Once that misunderstanding is cleared up he is quite taken with the idea of hugs, but is somewhat overenthusiastic about it. Hugs from York are always a little too strong, like someone trying to give you an enormous bear hug

York smells like musk and some northern conifer, likely pine or spruce, with just a hint of inexplicable citrus like lime or yuzu

Hugging Rosé is a bit awkward - she’s a little prickly about physical touch and doesn’t care for hugs on the whole. She also *will* pick your pocket if she does hug you

Rosé smells like a sweet fruity wine, some sort of sangria

G’ma gives the best hugs, after you figure out the height difference. It works best if you’re sitting or kneeling, or they’re standing on a chair or something. Their hugs are warm and comforting

G’ma smells very strongly of patchouli, with notes of gardenia and, yes, a bit of dog

Jancy’s hugs are a bit stiff and slightly formal, but still sincere. She’s not that used to hugs, or perhaps it’s been a long time since she hugged a lot, but she appreciates the sentiment

Jancy smells like strong black tea with a hint of vanilla (and lately maybe some notes of coffee too, wink wink)

Eugene is confused by hugs at first as well, they’re not something he remembers. His hugs are awkward at first, unsure what to do with his arms, but he eventually relaxes into it

Eugene smells like ozone and the void between stars

Yall seemed to like those sleepy bedtime head canons from earlier, so uhhh…

Drawtectives ice cream headcanons :)))

Rosé tends to like flavors that combine fruit qith chocolate. Cherry chocolate, strawberry chocolate, ect. Whenever she gets Neapolitan ice cream she always does that thing where she only scoops out the chocolate and strawberry flavors so there’s just a strip of vanilla in the middle. Grenda ends up having to eat it. If she wants to treat herself (which is most of the time) she’ll get strawberry cheesecake flavor.

Grandma generally prefers more simple flavors that use vanilla as a base, like chocolate chip, cookie dough, and cookies and cream. They just really like vanilla. His favorite flavor though is pancake or maple ice cream.

York doesn’t actually like ice cream that much. He doesn’t dislike them per-se, he’ll just pick something else if he has the option. He prefers sorbets and popsicles for frozen desserts. He’d like more sour fruit flavors like lime or raspberry.

Eugene likes blue moon ice cream for obvious reasons. It’s a decently rare flavor though so if he can’t get it he’ll just get chocolate.

Jancy doesn’t tend to get ice cream for herself that often. Neither does Eugene for that matter, but the difference between them is that Eugene actually has a favorite flavor and preferences, but Jancy literally always orders vanilla at ice cream places just for simplicities sake. She doesn’t even like vanilla that much, she just doesn’t want to get decision paralysis.

Rosé found this to be completely unacceptable, describing vanilla as “a sad flavor”. She insisted upon Jancy branching out her ice cream flavor profile, which was mostly unsuccessful. She did, however, reluctantly admit to enjoying coffee and matcha flavors, as I think she’d like bitter flavors.

.. She still just gets vanilla though.

Drawtective's Headcanon:

With how much everyone loves Eugene(audience, the Drawfee crew, AND the characters themselves) I'm so very eager to see how they add him to season three!

Like, I easily see him shadowing ALL of his parents.

Dog-walking with Gma(maybe even running into Harper and her new pupper from the one shot! I'm sure that'll be a fun day to tell the rest of the team over boba or sammies).

He's for sure fashionable enough to walk the catwalk with York! THEY CAN HAVE MATCHING OUTFITS!

But mostly, as he's brought on and will be qualified to be on the next case as a JUNIOR Drawtective, he's mostly an intern at the office doubling as Rosé's assistant!

I am very eager for next season, I can't wait for my found family to come back. And I can't wait to see what my baby boy's been up to in prep to join his parents on the next case!
