Day 7 Inverted jobs

This became a thing where for some reason Stone needs to pretend to be the eccentric genious doctor Robotnik, and Robotnik is the sleek agent Stone. Robotnik is not happy with how much fun Stone is having when for once he is the “sir” and “yes doctor”.

I like Stone’s coat. The big red glasses are inspired by some of @cheap-slaw ‘s work. As a coffee loving doctor Stone’s trademark drink would be a fancy Italian espresso served in one those teeny tiny glass mugs. Robotnik doesn’t really look like a government agent what with a red pin-stripe suit but meh, I like the contrast. He makes a dapper looking middle aged man when necessary. 🤭

First Impressions

It seemed almost strange now that he simply hadn’t noticed Stone the first time they’d met. The people working under him were just a vague impression of humans. Nothing more than suits and flesh to watch over him. They came, they went, interchangeable pieces far below his interest. 

He hadn’t even taken note of the precisely shaved beard and sharp eyes that now meant so much to him. Until one night, as the rest of the mass melted away, out to waste time with other bodies or to degrade their few remaining brain cells with alcohol or reality television, one agent remained, hovering near his desk. 

Naturally, he’d considered it a threat at first, priming the badniks in case the agent tried anything. His snappy insult was met with a shy smile, and an expression of admiration for his work, along with an offer of any help the agent could offer. 

It felt wrong, people didn’t smile at him except as a socially acceptable way to bare their teeth. People didn’t offer to help, they demanded results, or tried to take credit for things only he could create. People didn’t look at him like… at the time he didn’t even have words for how Stone looked at him. Imagine, him. The great Doctor Robotnik, lost for words! 

A swift dismissal sent the agent away, but before he’d even left the door Robotnik was pulling up every piece of data he could find on the curious Agent Stone.

Day 1 First Impressions

In my head, I picture agent Stone being sceptical when he gets assigned to Dr Robotnik. Since he’s a very capable agent, I think he’s more used to high-risk missions and jobs that sound way more exciting than being someone’s bodyguard/secretary. It doesn’t help that Robotnik’s list of achivements is a mile long, combined with his record of being an arrogant asshole. Stone assumes he’s getting assigned to just some “government dog” who is all bark and no bite, who just rages about his greatness and his inventions that really aren’t all that impressive. Stone is proven wrong of course, and something about this mad scientist who actually can erase not just government enemies but entire nations with a push of a button starts to tickle something funny in the equally (if not more so) twisted agent Stone. 

I think this would also be Robotnik’s first impression of Stone (once he actually realises that Stone is a capable and worth skimming the first few pages of his records). Robotnik views Stone as the governments sharp toothed lap dog, an efficient agent, but ultimately still idiotic enough to be loyal to the pentagoons. It takes Robotnik a lot longer (like a lot) than Stone to realise the others full potential and where his wicked loyalties actually lie.

I've decided to establish the Stobotnik week, and here it is! I hope you will be encouraged to participate in it.

It will start on March 31st and end on April 6th, time to think and do! But, first some clarifications and facts.

🥚+🪨: Why the date? I wanted to give a kind of significant value, so, I looked for some important and representative dates for the ship. And that concluded in making it right after March 30, the day after the release of "Pre-Quill" the official comic book of Sonic the movie! Where we were given a bigger glimpse of Stone and also his relationship with Robotnik.

🪨+🥚: What's valid and what's not? Any kind of input to the week is completely welcome, it's a dynamic and the important thing is to have fun! The plus is to show it with the rest of the fandom. However, NSFW content is limited, please don't break the only rule!

There may always be more dynamics or challenges that include NSFW content, but not in this one.
