EoB: Diavolo - Avatar of Gluttony

(Exchange of Burden info post) (Moodboard by me!) With the scramble of brothers and Barbatos sitting on the Devildom's throne, Diavolo becomes an avatar of his own, taking up the place just above the twins. As Gluttony, his fascination with the outside world has translated to a love of the realm's food...and also their recipes. Nine times out of ten he will be the one preparing meals for the House of Lamentation, filling his mind as much as he's filling his stomach.

He's insatiable in almost every sense of the word, doing nothing by halves as he reads stacks of books filled with cultures, foods, and recipes from across the three realms, traveling with his stomach to all of the places Mammon has advised that they never see. As long as Simeon keeps him stocked with ingredients, he is happy to satisfy his never-ending hunger with the things he has learned. He never seems to run out of protein, as between his requests for supplies, he always has the remnants of his brothers' messes to clean up and dispose of. Belphegor is the most prolific with the demons he needs to vanish, but Diavolo has been known to take matters into his own hands if someone threatens his family or manages to grate on his last nerve and his deep well of patience finally runs dry.

He is a protector at heart and tries to keep the peace with his brothers as much as possible, though they hardly make it easy for him. He will happily lend a listening ear and a freshly-made snack to anyone who finds themselves in need of a place to unload their burdens for a moment or two. Simeon is his closest friend, both out of necessity and a mutual love of adventure, though the other demon's questions about Mammon's rules are starting to make him nervous.

Sooooo, the EOB AU looks super super cool! Are there any plot differences you’re free to spill?

Aaaaaaaaa thank you and bless your sweet face ;w; I hope this all makes sense because it's sort of the culmination of weeks of rambles and ideas, but I'll give it a shot!

So this whole AU hinges on the question "What would the brothers/plot look like without Lucifer there?" And it sort of.......blew up from there jfkdlsdf

This exists kind of concurrent to canon as one of Barbatos' multitude of doors, where he is able to rule over a separate, self-sufficient version of the Devildom. In this version, the brothers fought against the Celestial Realm after Lilith's death, but Lucifer didn't make it through the fall, succumbing to his wounds right as the others were turned into demons. Because of this change, everyone's cardinal sins were scrambled.

Mammon is Pride, and the head of the family. Mainly he's trying to keep everything together, and keep his brothers from going to the Mortal Realm (despite this, several of them go anyway). He's much more efficient, but still the same big-hearted dummy we all know and love.

Levi is Wrath, and pretty much the "bad cop" to Mammon's softie demeanor toward the boys. He's a hardassed stickler for the rules and more of a closet otaku, nerding out in private rather than in front of the others.

Asmo is Envy, and much more obsessed with his own self-image. Any object of his interest will become his new fixation until he wrings all worth and value out of it, and his whole world falls apart if he feels that anyone is surpassing him.

Satan is Lust, and also the Devildom's most loved and prolific author. He drowns his insecurity over being compared to Lucifer in paramours and smooth lies, and despite Mammon's warnings, is the one who goes to the Mortal Realm the most often.

Diavolo is Gluttony, and has been described as "Hannibal but happy" and that's...pretty accurate jfdkslf he's the resident cook for the house, but has a tendency to go a little too far to pursue cravings. And he's a very classy garbage disposal for any bodies that need to go away quickly and quietly.

Beel is Sloth, and has taken the whole war thing a lot harder than his normal self. He's much more prone to bouts of melancholy of irritability, and trusts a lot less easily. He's got a sweet, soft heart deep down, but it's under several more walls.

Belphie is Greed, and he's mUCH more efficient at taking and keeping what he wants than Mammon was. He's known in both the Devildom and Mortal Realm as something of a mob boss, and many of the bodies that Dia uses in his culinary escapades are Belphie's fault. He's cold, calculating, and savage.

Simeon is in Barbatos' old role as the Prince's right hand, but he's a lot more...sinister. He was an angel that defected with Lucifer and the others, and he's still very hurt over the fallout, especially Lucifer's death. Bringing angels into the Devildom under the exchange program is a very big offense, in his eyes.

And there's a couple more changes here and there, (Mine and @lovelesslovers' MCs being changed from humans to an angel and a demon respectively being one of them) but I'm sure I've rambled long enough and I hope that all of this makes sense jfkdslf Thanks again, I'm always glad to share about this AU aaaaaaa
