hey jay! also letting you know that the FB webpage "KND 2x4 Posting" latam knd community recently rescued OP ZERO latinoamerican spanish dub which was until last week lost media. The page has a telegram channel with the latam spanish dub of the whole series in mkv (except OP ARCHIVE, theyre working on uploading it) that ALSO has the original english for VCL users. the spanish dub is iconic for latinamericans so having the whole thing recuperated from being lost media is smth really important esp if max is taking out the series

Army are upset cause Hybe is investing marketing $$ on New Jeans and Txt while apparently not doing so much for Bts solos.

But that's how Hybe would move right? They need the 2 groups to ramp up quick to help make profits in the absence of bts.

Hybe didn't have to do that with Bts cause armys were doing free marketing. But it's different with NJ and Txt. Those groups are yet to build a strong fb that'll carry on their own without Hybe doing much.

Did the armys think Hybe would wait until BTS finished military, to earn money for them? They are heavily promoting the other 2 groups cause they need to show investors they are functioning fine without Bts members (military or disband, they need a back up plan, esp after they saw how stocks dropped after festa).

Yes, I love for them to give some energy towards the members' solo work too.

But promoting NJ and txt now, is a business move too. And we shouldn't be surprised it's happening.

Army are angry at a corporation that does exactly what a corporation would do. BTS, TXT or NewJeans, they are making money from all of them. Why are the fans so disilusioned right now? They thought that BigHit was like a family and they will only ever care about BTS because if it weren't for them, they wouldn't be where they are? It would be stupid from a business perspective to not invest at least equally as much into other groups and to basically show that your business model works. You don't put all your eggs in one basket. They did that during a time when they basically had only BTS, but once the company went public and made several acquisitions and turned into Hybe, with BH as a separate company, the game changed because they play for the big league now. And as much as they continue with their rhetoric of "we are what we are because of BTS, they're special", money will always come first.

I'm not surprised they are heavily promoting TXT and NewJeans and by also mentioning BTS in the same headline. The point is not to shade BTS (why would they do that, the group is still on their payroll and that group still brings revenue), but to show how well the company is doing, that all their efforts and investment proves to be even more succesful because of the resources and power they have now, ergo these new groups are capable of achieving more in less time than BTS did. And it's logical. They didn't have the same resources back when BTS was in the same position. Basically, this is the result of BTS paving the way and they are doing it for the other groups in the company. Except army only likes to say that line but doesn't want anyone to ever have a similar success and opportunities. Which is once again a waste of energy because they have this nonsense fear that BTS will become irrelevant. And that happens because they fight their little battles daily. All of the members could retire tomorrow and be out of the spotlight and never do anything music related and in 40 years people would still know about BTS and who these people are. That's the level they reached.

Streaming like crazy for BTS now just because Ditto is on top shows how out of touch army will become. NewJeans is really successful and not just with their loyal fanbase. And it shows. People are actually listening to Ditto and OMG, including the GP and it actually reflects how their songs are being received. And it's visible, it just depends what spaces each one observes. For those living in some bubble thinking that Vibe is the hottest song right now, they are wrong. But Army are streaming it like crazy when they find out NJ are on top. Not because they are obsessed with the song and it's so good. It's only a pride and numbers game.

I can understand army wanting the members' solo albums to be shipped in the appropriate time frame because they need that for charting. I understand it because that's what every fandom focuses on and if they have to play the game, then at least all of them can have an equal start. I can also understand the confusion because the company has no issue keeping it on schedule with the albums for TXT while the situation for the BTS/solo albums was sort of chaotic for each of the three of them who already released something. Do I think the hashtags and the the campaign will work? I don't know. I lean towards the company not giving a shit, but who knows? Shipping it on time or later, the fans still make the purchase and the money will still reach Hybe/BH. So ultimately, will they care? An option would be for fans to boycott but it will also hurt the artist who doesn't deserve any of that.

I also think that the company has the resources to equally promote all their groups and their solo artists, but it seems that it's not their priority. I think they're not doing a very good job with the solo albums, but compared to the opportunities other solo idols have in the industry, the BTS members are doing more than fine. The doors will open for them and a delay in shipping of their album will not cast such a big shadow that it will ruin the artist's chance of his music doing good.

I saw your post on slow fashion and the link to the post about linen and I’d love to buy clothes that are more durable and sustainable, but I have sensory issues and need very soft shirts. Compared to cotton, how soft is linen?

hi! i have sensory issues too! it is for this reason that i am obsessed with linen, organic cotton and bamboo.

let me talk about bamboo for a second. bamboo clothes are ridiculously soft. it's become a sort of a phenomenon among parents, because babies who have sensitive skin / eczema / sensory issues tend to do the best with bamboo baby clothes. it's a whole thing. and luckily it is one of the more sustainable fabrics! (sometimes the process to make fabric out of bamboo can be energy-intensive but it is still overall a highly sustainable crop). i have some bamboo pieces from free label that i got secondhand through their FB BST group and i am sooooo into them. they are so soft. i hate wearing bras and i wear the free label bras all the damn time. i also have a bamboo shirt and pants from them and those are also so so good.

organic cotton is good too. you want to look for "GOTS" or "oeko tex certified." this kind of cotton is not only super soft, it is also better for the people who are processing it. it is not as sustainable as a crop but esp if you're buying secondhand, this is a great label to look for. (there is a big debate about which is the more "legit" certification; GOTS is apparently more stringent.)

ok so linen. i've already waxed poetic about linen here, but let me address your question more specifically.

linen is a funny fabric! depending on the person / company working with it, it can come out stiff or scratchy, or super soft like butter. the thing with linen is that even when you find a stiff, scratchy, or wrinkly linen, all you have to do is wear it and interact with it, and your body heat will relax the fibers and make it soft and pliable. i have put on wrinkly linen clothes on a hot day and found that half an hour later most of the wrinkles are gone.

i have linen sheets and pillowcases! i used to swear by cotton sheets because #sensoryissues and i was nervous about the linen sheets, because, like i said, it can feel, at first touch, a little stiffer or scratchier than cotton. BUT THEN YOU SLEEP IN IT...! and the linen transforms into a cloud, ushering you to blissful sleep. i have been spoiled by linen. i literally can't even sleep in hotel beds anymore. the thread count doesn't matter. my body craves linen.

it's a bit of a magic fabric; it keeps you cool when it's hot, and retains heat when it's cold. polyester fabrics tend to get worse the more you wear them; linen gets better with every wear. in my communist utopia everyone will be wearing linen sacks and loving it. i hope this answers your question.

paranoid that i was exposed while getting my fucking vaccine. i had minimal side effects (little bit of tiredness and still a slight soreness at the injection site, even 2 days later) but this evening i started feeling dizzy and sniffling. started panicking so i took half a xanax. ordered in food because i couldnt drive after taking the xanax. im hoping it's just delayed vaccine side effects esp cause i got novavax so i cant compare to the 3 pfizers i got before. but everyone in the fucking clinic was unmasked, save for the pharmacist who put on a surgical only while actively injecting me (and a worker that i saw in a bifold, and we smiled at each other, and she complimented my mask :) ). i dunno man. im so tired of living in this world that feels like there's a fucking gun to my head any time i step outside and then people laugh about my fear of being killed.

we watched a bunch of zombie movies tonight in the discord and ive come to realize zombie flicks are much less fun in the wake of a pandemic when i really do feel like one of the only survivors left. to my knowledge ive still never gotten covid. but at what fucking cost? my career, my future, my sanity. i dont know how much longer i can keep doing this. but i cant just unlearn what i know about covid and what it can do to me. its why i didnt pursue dental training in the midst of all this; i know the anxiety id have over constant exposure will kill me before the virus does.

death is so terrifying. so is a potential life of severe disability. people with long covid in the groups i'm in are writing up their own eulogies, apologizing for not wanting to live anymore. "I don’t intend to let this be drawn out indefinitely, but I would really like to not die after spending all my final days sad, sick, in pain, and alone." "Maybe I should give up; I’ve given up on pretty much everything else. But I just don’t want this to be it. 2023 New Year Goals and Reviews and Stuff

I usually do goal and review posts every year just like everyone else, but if I did this for 2022 I sure can’t find it. Maybe I was too lazy, which would surprise no one.

2022

This felt like a fairly chill year overall, which is probably a good thing.

We did some hiking and camping. As always, we could have done more.

Chandra made good progress in her iliospoas rehab that started at the end of 2021 (def a reason we didn’t hike as much, especially in the first half of the year). She is cautiously returning to agility and we’ll see how that goes.

Chandra did some more obedience training and also made good progress there. We didn’t trial other than some at-home WRCL runs.

Blizzard really picked up her agility trialing! She had her first full year of trialing after a slow start largely due to covid.

Between virtual runs and real trials, Blizzard made her way up to Masters in USDAA and Level 5 in CPE. She earned her MPD (Masters level title in USDAA) and is about halfway to her PDCH (championship title)

I finished 3/4 of my schooling for my GIS certificate and transition away from dog training to a new career. There is still a lot of anxiety going on with that, but the mental relief of getting away from agility-as-a-job has been soooo worth it.

I put more effort into self-improvement mentally and physically! After years of yo-yoing and steadily creeping weight gain, I revamped habits, made better choices, and lost about 25lbs. I admit this came after hitting a mental low point (and high weight point) early in the year when I was sitting in a hotel room eating grocery store chocolate cake with my fingers because I ‘needed’ it. The cake wasn’t even that good.

I also reined in my internet and social media habits, especially Facebook as recently mentioned. But also things like not scrolling my phone in bed at night, and not checking it first thing in the morning either. I think a lot of people these days have some sort of social media addiction, or at least way too much there, and Facebook was mine. For a long time I knew how bad it was making me feel for a hundred different reasons, but it was still a struggle to quit or cut back. I finally managed it in the last couple months of 2022 and I really do feel soooo much better just ignoring my friends feed and going on primarily to check some hobby groups. It is so much easier to spend less than 5-10 minutes a day there versus the hours I used to spend. Unfortunately I’ve kind of replaced the FB addiction with a Reddit addiction, which is something to work on in 2023....

I got myself spayed and off of hormonal birth control! It’s only been about five weeks but I can already feel the mental benefits and I’m so glad I did it. Only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. I look forward to seeing how my brain and body continue to change and hopefully for the better. HBC is great for so many reasons (esp the No Babies part, so I have no regrets for that), but it’s also got shitty baggage.

Seems like a lot of 2022 was about me, which was probably more than a little overdue. As they say, put on your own oxygen mask before helping others. ~self care~ and all that!

What’s up for 2023?

Continue monitoring Chandra’s rehab and see how it goes and how she does with some agility again. I have a pipe dream goal of finishing her PDCH (she needs 8 Qs, even less than Blizzard) but I don’t want to be selfish about it. So we’ll see.

Obedience...idk. We’ll keep doing some training but at this point I’m not sure about trialing. The obedience community really does it make hard to love. Maybe later on I’ll feel interested again. I don’t want to regret not doing it, like I regret not finishing Ryker’s CD before he died.

Blizzard, I would love to finish her PDCH! It might be tough to do given the lack of USDAA trials here but I think it is still a possibility.

At this point I’ve put thoughts of Next Dog on hold for a while again. I’m currently enjoying the two dog life, backing away from dog sports again, and doing more non-dog things (even though a lot of it still involves them anyway, like hiking and camping). Plus with us likely moving, me hopefully getting a new job, I think it’s good to just not add another dog to the mix until all that has settled. I won’t say Next Dog is totally out of the question for 2023, but right now it’s unlikely and not something I’m planning to actively pursue.

At some point this year we’re planning to move to Minnesota. No specific timeline yet, but probably summer-ish. It will be incredibly sad to leave Colorado...

I’ll finish school this spring, hopefully find a real adult job in that field (yay..) and not have this schooling be for nothing.

Continue reinforcing and improving my habits for mental and physical health. I’ve been considering getting into bouldering for something different in the physical activity realm, so I’ll probably check that out. Plus the usual hiking and camping. Gotta get out and see some places before we leave! Then have new places to check out when we move.

Hmmm yeah I think that’s it so far. 😂

fb+/meta or whatever is one severely unfunny joke. i know i am mostly a hater of social media, but i don't see how threads is going to be better for usability and reach. especially given how shit numbers are on IG (i get more noted "per capita" of followers on tumblr and twitter for untagged posts). i already made a small thread of zucc apps being shit which I'll copy paste here. i don't know how people are thinking threads is going to be better than any of the twitter alternatives when it's most likely the WORST option out there. anyway-

the reason why the other twit replacement apps aren't as insidious as threads (zucc/fb owned) should be obvious, but i'll list some things:

• infamously on zucc platforms you can get reported for saying "white people" which is why so many of us say yt now (a bit of poc social media history for u from the 2010s)

• private messages are sold/given to police no warrant: this could be anything used against you, could be protest info, where you've been, etc.

• right wing propaganda/misinfo is lucrative for facebook. this is something that heavily affects the global south btw.

• they lie about views and growth for business accounts to keep you on their platform. the case i know best is that they inflated college humor's analytics to compete w youtube. this resulted in so many businesses throwing money and labour at facebook w out much return.

BTW i have been preaching this for years but if you want to learn why our internet is fucked up, learn about what happened with net neutrality cases in the US, and then later, SESTA FOSTA (primarily targetting sex workers but is the reason why everything is censored now). ppl online have been warning everyone about this for years, but you are just now experiencing the consequences. but again, nobody listens to things that target primarily sex workers.

plus from a functional standpoint, if you want to delete your threads account, your instagram is deleted as well. like it really doesn't seem worth it for people who are desperate to find the social media that will stick. i don't have anything nice to say about any of the other social medias except that some Mastodon instances do a great job at keeping nazi's out and using alt text, but the bar is extremely low and everybody else is even lower ^_^

So I just randomly joined an Austin Butler group on Facebook just for the heck of it. Not to age shame but most of them were over 40😭 the Admins look like they're 50+ and they don't allow any posts about Austin if Kaia is with him. They say they wanna respect his privacy but I came across their twitter and they're bitter about Kaia💀I know older women like Austin because of Elvis but wth is this??? Liking is one thing but to trash a girl who can very well be your daughter's age is something I can't digest.And the ones who trash Kaia on twitter or Instagram are also mostly middle aged women. I need Austin to have more normal stans

some of the fb group ladies are sweet- my faves are the ones that are like "Hello I am 81 years old and oh boy Austin is cute!!!" bless their hearts haha but yeah there are some tough nuts on there. and not all middle aged fans are horrible!!! but it's esp weird when that age group gets the nastiest about kaia bc like...she is half your age!!! calm down!

but also i think i'm in a diff group than the one you found bc the one i'm in gets kaia posts every now and then.
