🚐👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌲 Traveling with kids can be a challenge, but it can also be a rewarding adventure. One way to add excitement to family trips is by hitting the road in a van. Van life with kids is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. It allows families to explore new places, bond over shared experiences, and create lasting memories. 🏞️🛣️🌅 Van life with kids is not just about the destination, but also the journey. From national parks to scenic drives, there are endless opportunities for family adventures on the road. With a van, families can easily stop and explore wherever they please, without the hassle of finding accommodations. It also provides a unique opportunity to disconnect from technology and connect with nature and each other. 👪🌎👣 Van life with kids is not just for the adventurous, but for anyone looking to create meaningful family experiences. It allows families to break away from the routine of daily life and explore the world together. Whether it's a weekend getaway or a cross-country trip, van life with kids is a fun and exciting way to bond as a family and create memories that will last a lifetime.1. The Benefits of Van Life for Families with KidsVan life can be an incredible adventure for families with kids. Here are some benefits: Freedom to travel and explore new places Opportunity to spend quality time together Closer connection with nature Less screen time and more outdoor activities Cost-effective way to travel Living in a van can teach kids important life skills like problem-solving, adaptability, and minimalism. Van life also allows families to create a personalized and flexible schedule, making it easier to balance work and play. Being on the road can expose kids to diverse cultures and lifestyles, broadening their perspectives and understanding of the world. While van life may have its challenges, the benefits outweigh them. It's a unique and rewarding way to bond as a family and create lasting memories. 🚐💛2. Choosing the Right Van for Your Family AdventureWhen choosing a van for your family adventure, consider the size of your family and the amount of gear you'll be bringing. A van with ample space will make your trip more comfortable. Look for a van with good fuel economy to save on gas costs. A hybrid or electric van may be a good option. Consider the van's safety features, such as airbags, anti-lock brakes, and backup cameras. These features can help keep your family safe on the road. Think about the van's entertainment options, such as a DVD player or Bluetooth connectivity. These features can make long trips more enjoyable for everyone. Don't forget about storage space. Look for a van with plenty of compartments to keep your gear organized. Finally, consider the van's resale value. A van with a good resale value can be a smart investment for your family's future adventures. 🚐💰3. Tips for Creating a Comfortable Living Space in Your VanCreating a comfortable living space in your van is essential to make your travels enjoyable. Here are some tips to make your van feel like home: Invest in a good quality mattress to ensure a good night's sleep 💤 Maximize storage space by using shelves and drawers 🗄️ Choose light-colored curtains to let in natural light ☀️ Install a fan or ventilation system to keep the air fresh 🌬️ Use rugs and cushions to add warmth and comfort 🛋️ Consider adding a foldable table for dining or working 🍽️ Hang photos or artwork to personalize the space 🖼️ Install LED lights for a cozy ambiance 🌟 Choose functional and multi-purpose furniture 🪑 Keep the space clean and organized for a stress-free living 🧹 By following these tips, you can create a comfortable and cozy living space in your van, making your travels more enjoyable and memorable. Happy van life! 🚐❤️4. Fun and Educational Activities for Kids on the RoadLooking for ways to keep your kids entertained and educated while on the road? Here are some ideas: 🎨 Bring along coloring books, crayons, and markers to encourage creativity and fine motor skills. 📚 Pack a variety of books, including educational ones about science, history, and geography. 🧩 Bring along puzzles and brain teasers to promote problem-solving and critical thinking skills. 🌳 Take breaks at rest stops or parks to explore nature and learn about different plants and animals. 🎲 Play games like I Spy, 20 Questions, and the Alphabet Game to improve observation and language skills. 🚗 Use a map or GPS to teach your kids about geography and navigation. 🎭 Encourage imagination and social skills by having your kids put on a play or puppet show. 🎵 Listen to music and sing along to improve language development and memory skills. 🍎 Pack healthy snacks and involve your kids in meal planning and preparation to teach nutrition and life skills. 🎉 Have fun and make memories by playing games, telling stories, and enjoying each other's company.5. Managing Family Dynamics in a Small SpaceLiving in a small space with family can be challenging. Here are some tips to manage family dynamics: Establish boundaries and rules to respect each other's space and privacy. Communicate openly and honestly to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts. Encourage everyone to participate in keeping the space clean and organized. Plan activities that allow for individual and group time, such as movie nights or board games. Be flexible and willing to compromise to accommodate everyone's needs. Remember, living in a small space can also bring you closer together. Embrace the coziness and make the most of your time together. 😊6. Staying Safe and Healthy on Your Van Life AdventureWhen living on the road, it's important to prioritize your health and safety. Here are some tips: Invest in a good first aid kit, including medications and emergency supplies. Stay hydrated by carrying a water filter and reusable water bottles. Regularly clean and sanitize your living space to prevent illness. Get enough sleep and exercise to maintain your physical and mental health. Protect yourself from the sun with hats, sunscreen, and shade. Be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts when it comes to safety. Don't forget about your mental health: Stay connected with loved ones and build a support system. Practice mindfulness and self-care to reduce stress and anxiety. Take breaks from social media and technology to disconnect and recharge. Find ways to pursue your passions and hobbies on the road. Stay organized and plan ahead to reduce stress and anxiety. Finally, be mindful of the impact you have on the environment: Dispose of waste properly and recycle whenever possible. Use eco-friendly products and reduce your carbon footprint. Support local businesses and buy sustainable products. Leave your campsites cleaner than you found them. By prioritizing your health, safety, and the environment, you can have a successful and enjoyable van life adventure! 🚐💪🌍7. Budgeting for Your Family Van Life ExperienceWhen planning your family van life experience, budgeting is crucial. Here are some tips: Calculate your monthly expenses and set a budget. Consider the cost of the van, insurance, and maintenance. Factor in fuel costs and campground fees. Plan for unexpected expenses and emergencies. Save money by: Buying a used van instead of a new one. Cooking meals instead of eating out. Using free campsites instead of paid ones. Limiting unnecessary spending. Track your expenses and adjust your budget as needed. Use apps like Mint or YNAB to help. Consider ways to earn money while on the road: Freelance work or remote jobs. Selling handmade items or crafts. Offering services like pet-sitting or house-sitting. Starting a travel blog or YouTube channel. Remember to prioritize experiences over material possessions. Enjoy the journey and make memories that will last a lifetime! 🚐✨ In conclusion, van life with kids is an adventure worth taking. It allows families to bond, explore, and create memories that will last a lifetime. The freedom and flexibility of this lifestyle is unmatched. While it may come with its challenges, the rewards are immeasurable. From waking up to breathtaking views to teaching children about the importance of minimalism and sustainability, van life offers a unique and enriching experience for families. 🚐👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌄 Don't be afraid to embark on this journey with your loved ones. Van life with kids is an opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with what truly matters: family, nature, and adventure. https://van-squad.co.uk/family-adventures-van-life-with-kids/?_unique_id=649188d3282c7

So happy with how Bunty’s renovation is going. Adding a bit to work covering has made such a different to the feel and vibe of the caravan. She is starting to look more like a fun beach hut than a 1970s tourer. With a new member of the family on the way, the plan is to have her ready to travel from around February next year, so that we can get a solid 12 months use before we look at getting something else. Once the walls are@done we@are going to move onto the cupboards and doors, the carpet and then finish off recovering the upholstery. Hopefully we can stick to a tight budget so that we finish up with a lively little van, made with our time and love ready for our little girls first travelling experience. Check out IGTV and the link in the bio for the video ;) #ukvanlifediaries #ukvanlifers #ukvanlife #vankifeuk #caravan #renovation #retrocaravan #retrocaravanclub #retrocaravans #familyvanlife #familyvanlifeadventure #uk #carosel #video #youtube https://www.instagram.com/p/CFJc9AGhhN6/?igshid=1j4xex3n4a694

That was one hell of a weekend. ⁣ By that I mean its broke me. ⁣ ⁣ I had a lovely weekend visioned in my head. Some weekend #vanlife vibes. ⁣ But we had arguments over who was sleeping where, arguments because of careless stupid mistakes, tears because of cancelled plans (which then went ahead anyway) I felt like because we went from stress to stress my head was never truly as “in the moment” as I’d hoped.⁣ Just not quite the weekend I thought. In fact it seems like that how some of our days go at the moment! ⁣ Tainted by arguments & foolishness. ⁣ ⁣ There were some good bits and looking back I hope these are the bits we remember.⁣ 🌿 I managed a Saturday morning river swim. It really is the best way to wake body and mind. ⁣ 🌿 We went to the beach for the first time since March. Which was brilliant. Felt busy. But brilliant. ⁣ 🌿 Paddling in te sea, hunting for shells, making a cuppa In the camper and drinking it right there on the beach. While the kids played. These are the moments I live for. ⁣ 🌿Finding a lovely little campsite that had a cafe onsite that made amazing bacon butties. ⁣ 🌿Squeezing in some time on the canoe. ⁣ 🌿Then finishing the weekend along the canal last night chatting about what boat we would like and I’d we could buy the lock house we walked past. ⁣ ⁣ I hope as life continues to get to a new normal the stress of heading back to normal will lessen as I’m sure that has plays a major part in everyone’s attitudes. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Right on to Monday. Let’s see what the week brings. The last week of homeschool. We’ve got this. ⁣ ⁣ #parentingduringapandemic. #weekendadventures #weekendvibes #instareality ⁣ #camperlife #familyvanlife #beachlife #beachvibes #weekendadventures #familyof6 #twosetsoftwins #twinlife #adventuresofours #momentsofmine #makingmemories (at Huttoft Bank) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCk06KmFLLG/?igshid=29023fsgfpww

A few weeks ago we were wandering around the @neccaravanshows full of excitement for our Easter Road trip. ⁣ The Road trip where we had to pick up a brand new Motorhome from Tuscany. ⁣ This morning however we all got the email Italy is in Lockdown. Flights are being cancelled and the road trip postponed. ⁣ For us that means we’ve had to cancel as it’s been postponed to outside school holiday dates. ⁣ We are gutted to say the least but also very sad for Italy and the rest of the world. ⁣ We are in a scary situations at the moment and it’s only going to get worse before it gets better. ⁣ I’m anxious at the moment about when and where to plan our next adventure. No one knows how this virus will affect us. No one knows how long it will be here for. ⁣ But I think for my own wellbeing it’s important to look forward. ⁣ So onto planning for future adventures. ⁣ ⁣ 🚍⁣ I also want to take a moment to say thanks to @justgouk for giving us the opportunity in the first place. I wish the team well and hope that they are all stay safe and well. ⁣ ⁣ Here’s to future collaborations. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #justgoanywhere #familyvanlife #twins #campingadventures #ontheroad #feelinggrateful #familytraveladventures ⁣ (at Just go Motorhomes) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9jrkT5lMkA/?igshid=xzbmt2roakgf

This image was from our first or second year traveling. Just the other day Abby said “can you believe we have been traveling for 6 years, non-stop”? I said “ wow, that seems like a long time but it’s gone so fast”? I then asked if she missed having a house? She said “no, look at all the places we feel at home”. It made me think there is a lot of freedom in living this way. We have started calling it #homefree as we are free of the physical, and financial bounds of a bricks and sticks home. But still have the freedom of shelter, community and nearly complete freedom to be anywhere we choose. Not to say there arent many challenges, but overall I am very grateful for all the amazing time we have spent together as a family and places we have really been immersed in. #famagogo @gopro #nomadicfamily #gonow . . . . . . #adventurevanlife #bikelife #bike #vanlife #familyvanlife #rvlife #homefreefamily #familyadventures #familytravel (at Springdale, Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9ZUsuhllCS/?igshid=4u93zf53kp4t

#wales trip highlights 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💚⛰️🌳🐏🌊🚐 Elan Valley - beautiful dams, reservoirs and 73 mile aqueduct of the Elan Valley were built a hundred years ago to supply desperately needed clean water to Birmingham. It was an epic feat of civil engineering set within an area of outstanding scenic beauty. We haven't explored it all, it’ll be a place to come back on our next trip.
