Sure, it’s going to be vague as heck tho…

I used to live somewhere where there was a large field and then a rather busy road on the other side of it. I heard a large boom in the middle of the night and ran across the field to investigate. I called emergency services as I ran.

It was… it was bad.

He had hit the one tree on that side of the road been thrown out of his car.

I dropped my phone, sat beside him, very carefully took his head into my lap, ran my fingers through his hair and talked to him. He tried to talk back.

I KNOW you aren’t supposed to move people, but, he wasn’t going to make it, even if an ambulance had been right there when it happened.

So, I gave him comfort and company so that he wasn’t going out alone.

I still see him sometimes when I close my eyes and it makes me want to vomit, but I held it together for him until he was gone.
