Music Video: Fousheé - Deep End

I recently came across this amazing artist Fousheé upon working the Re:SET concert series earlier this year at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. This woman does it all yo!

"Deep End" is a vibey, soulful track off her 2021 LP, Time Machine. But she also has full on punk, alternative and eclectic experimental tracks.

The video was directed by Zach Sulak and the track was self produced by Fousheè and Biako. check it!

How are you doing? Is it cold where you live? Talk to us about your creative process when you draw! What shows/movies are you watching? Any books you're interested in reading or are reading? Right now, do you have a song stuck on your mind? What's your comfort food? What languages would you love to learn?

now THIS the type of shit I’m talking about

Alright where to start:

1. Vine compilations and Merlin crack videos on YouTube are the only things keeping me sane currently

2. It’s kinda cold where I live but not cold enough to snow yet (unfortunately)

3. I start with a vague idea and sketch it down. Sometimes detailed sketches sometimes horrific children’s drawings sketches. Depending on the level of detail, I either clean the sketch or sketch another layer. Again depending on level of detail, I either use the cleaned sketch as lineart or I lineart on another layer. Base colors where I figure out the colors I wanna use —> use layer modes and stuff to find a pleasing color palette. Lighting/no lighting. Add a few detail. Add watermark. Add some texture and/or chromatic aberration or whatever I’m feeling. Second guess whether I should post it and then et voila! A fresh batch of unhinged fanart :’))

4. Not watching anything at the moment tbh which is probably why I’m in such a funk although I am considering watching Merlin cause the crack videos are hilarious. Can’t even remember the last movie I watched

5. Aaaa so many books I want to read but so little motivation :((

6. Current song stuck in my head is deep end by fousheè or however u spell it

7. Comfort food is probably tangerines, I always eat like five in a row cause jabshsbd they’re so,,,, tasty,,,

8. Would LOVE to learn Spanish and Korean and Arabic

I recently just talked about Fousheè as a new artist to me when she was featured on Lil Wayne’s recent single. I previously heard her song “single af” randomly and enjoyed what I heard so she’s been on my radar ever since. This past #NewMusicFriday, she released this new single and she got me again. The vocals are clearly there as she was a contestant on The Voice but it’s something so distinctive about her tone that captured me initially and continues to do so on this song. She’s not hitting a ton of high notes but there’s power in the airiness and rasp of her voice. The song was one that I liked immediately and I liked it even more after hearing it a couple more times. She hasn’t released a debut album yet, but with this track and the handful of singles she released last year, I’m hoping to hear an entire body of work from her soon.
