Happy Pride Month!

You know what I want to see? Artemis Fowl/ Brave AU (and yes, I mean Brave the Pixar movie) with Artemis as Merida (maybe without the archery) 

But imagine it. A warlike Irish Kingdome ruled over by Fowl Sr, who wants his eldest son to take up the throne, and teaches him in the arts of War and such.

Prince Artemis doesn’t want anything to do with that. He would much rather be a scholar, an explorer, a scientist. If he had to be a king, he would certainly not be a warlike one. This, of course, causes some tension.

Whenever he can get a day to himself, he leaves the castle with Butler to find samples for his experiments.

Artemis Sr: Arty, a Prince never leaves his experiments on the table.

Artemis Jr: But father, its just my test tubes!

Angeline Fowl has a bad experience with a bear, meaning she has trauma towards them. The twins are, of course, little mischief makers at Juliet’s expense. Butler is just dragged along for all of Artemis’ shenanigans (nothing new there).

Then Artemis’s suiters turn up, one English, one Irish, and one French (yes, the French one is Minerva). When he gets the chance to challenge them to a game of his choosing, he challenges them to chess.

It doesn’t go well for him. Minerva wins, his father is pissed, Artemis runs away

He follows a trail of orange roses to a hut, where an Elf lives (Holly). She gives him a potion in exchange for a gold pendant, a coin with a hole in it.

Holly: This will help you change your fate.

Artemis: Fate? The idea that our lives have some predetermined plan is nothing but the height of hubris-

A friend told me they'd like to see the individual pride pics from the bigger piece drawn by @thefriendlyfour with flag descriptions, so here's the first one:

Dr.Rose Gold's main flag is genderfluid, meaning the gender they currently identify as (or sometimes a lack of gender entirely) and their preferred pronouns can change based on what they feel suits them best at the time. The smaller flag in their hand is the polysexual flag, meaning that Rose is attracted to multiple genders but not all- in their case, they're typically not attracted to female presenting individuals but are fine with partners who present as male, nonbinary, genderfluid, demi, agender, genderqueer, and can even occasionally find certain female presenting individuals attractive (Rose is more attracted to tall, buff individuals than any particular gender- they want someone who, in their words, "Can sweep me off my feet just as easily as they could break me like a pencil~")

Quick inquiry regarding Rose Gold and Steelbeak; we ALL know the reasons that Steelbeak doesn’t really get attached to anyone, his partners in particular, in your canon verse save Domino. But what I’m curious about is what made Rose different from the various other “others” Steelbeak’s worked with? How exactly did they click?

First, thanks for the ask- I always love it when people are curious about my OC's :3

Well, the simplest answer to that would be "they knew each other longer". In the canon I write for, when Steelbeak originally joined FOWL as a teenager (he was around 15, Rose was 13 at the time) and had his namesake steel beak crafted, the doctor who performed the surgery to implant the necessary posts for his beak was Rose's father (one of FOWL's doctors at the time who later-on became a head-surgeon working on the higher-ranking agents and officers) and the scientist who designed the first version of his beak was one of Rose's uncles (he later taught Rose how to craft artificial body parts, which helped them down the line when they started designing their own metallic legs). Rose would often tag along with their family members at work, a vast majority of them being scientists and doctors with FOWL, and got to see and meet some very interesting people- but, honestly, the grungy, moody, angry homeless boy only two years older than them in need of a new beak was their first time meeting a kid outside of their family and they instantly wanted to be friends with him.

Steelbeak wasn't too social when he first joined FOWL and didn't have a lot of trust when it came to adults, but Rose (still just Keya back then) was friendly and seemed non-threatening enough that he could put up with them in small doses whenever he went to have his beak checked out or repaired. Over the years they became more familiar and comfortable with each other and even started hanging out after work sometimes thanks to Rose's persistence. By the time Rose decided they wanted to try being an agent for a little while, the two had known each other for about eight years and formed a pretty strong friendship (Rose had also developed a pretty strong crush on Steelbeak, but he was still figuring himself out and didn't realize he was bi yet) so Steelbeak didn't mind having them as a partner and they clicked very well on and off the battlefield. When Rose got injured three months into their partnership (the longest lasting partnership Steelbeak had before or since, at least until Domino came along) and wound up in a coma with their legs gone, Steelbeak was devastated because this was one of the first times he'd genuinely cared for a partner from the bottom of his heart and it left a pretty deep scar on his psyche, resulting in him putting up even more walls to avoid getting attached to a partner he'd eventually lose.

Eventually (read as "when I have money again" -_-') I'd love to have a picture of the two done from back when they were partners so everyone can see what the two were like in their 20's :3

Since you said Rose Gold would appear in one of your Steeldomino fics, How good will they be at respecting Domino's personal space? (And how many times will Steelbeak have to prevent Dom from murdering his friend?) Also I find it funny how Steelbeaks favorite partners are the exact opposite of each other, Rose is a total cuddlebug and Domino would rip you apart if you so much as bump into him on accident. - Pixel Anon

I’ve actually had chats with @thefriendlyfour​ about Domino and Rose’s relationship and how it will progress from their first meeting onward.

To answer your question, Rose knows enough about Domino’s “quirk” both through their own research into Domino’s file (they do this with every partner Steelbeak gets) and Steelbeak’s over-the-phone stories about his current partner to know that touching Domino is a BIG no-no. They may be a bit careless at times during their first meeting and get close to a few accidental touches, but survival instinct will kick in at the last moment, so Steelbeak won’t need to save them too much.

As for Steelbeak’s own feelings towards the two of them, yeah, it’s pretty funny that two of the most important people in his life are such opposites when it comes to physical contact x3 For Steelbeak, though, the amount of contact isn’t as important to him as the meaning behind it- Rose uses excessive amounts of physical affection to show they care about someone, while Domino only shows/allows physical affection to/from those he truly trusts and cares for. They’re two opposite ends of the spectrum, but Steelbeak values both of them in equal but different ways.

That doesn’t mean there won’t still be a few problems to address between the two of them, however: Domino’s likely not going to be a fan of how “affectionate” Rose is with his partner/boyfriend, and it’ll be an uncomfortable, amusing, and frustrating introduction, to say the least xD Once the two get a chance to sit and talk things over, though, Domino will feel better knowing that, despite Rose’s overly-touchy nature, their current feelings for Steelbeak are non-romantic, and that will make it easier for the two of them to get started on better terms with one another. Domino understands that Rose and Steelbeak are very close friends and isn’t going to be the type of overly-possessive-jealous-boyfriend that will tell his partner he can’t have a best friend, he’s fine with the relationship those two have and knows that it’s different from what he has with Steelbeak. From there, there’ll likely be a few instances of Domino being confused/annoyed with some of Rose’s antics whenever they visit Saint Canard- lots of moments of “Why are you like this? -_-” at first- but, once the two get some time to bond and get to know each other better on their own terms, it’ll be easier for them to become friends.

Also, despite their different interests and levels of energy, Domino and Rose would be able to have conversations with each other pretty easily because Rose is a big-time info-dumper when it comes to science, especially about their mechanical legs and traps, and Domino likes to learn, so that would earn him a lot of points with Rose:

Rose, after talking for 20 minutes straight- “You know, you’re allowed to tell me to shut up if you’re bored, everyone else does.”

Domino, looking genuinely interested- “No, please continue. Who knew trip-wire mines were originally used with grenade-cans?”

Rose, eyes sparkling excitedly before shouting towards the kitchen- “Steely, this one’s a keeper! If you ever break up with him, I’m kicking you upside your head!”

Steelbeak, laughing from the kitchen- “If I’m ever stupid enough t’ do somethin’ like that, then I DESERVE t’ get kicked upside the head!”

🎭 - Does your OC show different sides of themselves to different people? For Nega-Steel, Rose Gold, Bokor Baron and Maravilla if you can please?

Nega-Steelbeak: A big part of Nega-Steelbeak’s character is his kindness and generally calm demeanor. Beneath that, however, he hides a lot of insecurities, anxieties, and trauma from his past experiences that secretly affect everything he does in his life. There are, however, a few people who are close enough to him to see these darker feelings- Sid (his negaverse son, by @eclipsewarrior101 ), Andy (his negaverse boyfriend, also by @eclipsewarrior101 ), Nega-Quackerjack (his BFF), and of course Nega-Henri and Nega-Rose Gold (both ex work partners and good friends of his). These people get to see who he really is beneath the calm demeanor and bright smiles and remind him that it’s okay to accept help from others when he needs it.

Dr.Rose Gold: On the surface, Rose is intelligent, energetic, talkative, flirty, and sadistic- an interesting combination that can be a bit much for most people to deal with. For the few who can deal with them, such as Steelbeak (and @starlightmoth​ ‘s OC Belladonna, who we agreed once would make a good lab-partner for Rose and would get along well with their family since they make up a big part of FOWL’s science division- giving her a gigantic family of energetic science flamingos to be a granny to), they also get to see how caring Rose can be in their own odd way and how, deep down, they’re really kind of lonely and socially awkward after being cooped up alone in their lab for so many years with so little company.

Bokor Baron: As stated in a few previous posts from one of the last OC asks I did, Bokor is egotistical, prideful, and narcissistic; he usually thinks he’s better than everyone else around him and that no one else is more deserving of praise, respect, and admiration than he is. The only exception to this mindset is his partner, @thefriendlyfour ‘s Wildcard, whom he views as his equal and wants to bring to the height of power and respect alongside him so the two of them can shine brighter together. To his partner, he’s a surprisingly sweet, doting, and protective boyfriend, often showering Wildcard with affection, offering genuine praise and compliments, giving thoughtful (and sometimes creepy) gifts, teaching them his rituals and practices, singing La Vie En Rose for them, and even threatening or placing curses on those who’ve wronged his partner (such as their previous team from the northern base, particularly Domino). Wildcard is the only one who gets to see this caring and sweet side of the normally self-centered and manipulative Bokor.

Maravilla: A core part of Maravilla’s character is her deceptive, two-faced nature, making it hard for her to form enough attachment to anyone on either side for them to get to know her very well. Although she does desire romance and would like to one day meet an interesting girl and fall in love, she knows deep down that she’ll likely end up having to change part of who she is and restrict/resign herself to whatever alignment her future lover falls under.

Steelbeak is stubborn and prideful, so him openly accepting help is not something that comes easily to someone so arrogant. What he’ll default to instead is giving orders to his underlings and eggmen- telling them to hurry up and get him something or do something for him- and try to play it off after the fact as just another part of his job.

The only times he’d actually admit to needing or wanting help with something would be to someone he genuinely trusts and has enough experience with to know they won’t judge him or think less of him for catching him a moment of weakness. Examples of these people would be his current partner/boyfriend, @thefriendlyfour ‘s Domino, or his previous partner, Dr.Rose Gold- both of them being people whom he’s built up a lot of trust with after knowing them for some time and getting to know them on a personal level.

For Bokor baron, Rose Gold, and Maravila- 🌋 - What’s your OCs temper like? Are they a slow boil, or an instant explosion?

Bokor Baron: Bokor doesn’t get too many people that try to anger him since many of them are too charmed by him to disagree with anything he says. The few people/things that CAN anger him, however, are able to do so quite easily. He tends to get snappy and rude first when he feels like he’s being disrespected, but quickly escalates to shouting if it continues, and can get violent if it’s someone he truly detests (such as Steelbeak- those two often end up in a fist fight if they’re around each other too long). His temper is explosive and his anger is long-lasting, so once you’ve angered him, you’ll be on his hitlist for a LONG time to come.

Dr.Rose Gold: Rose is usually very cheerful and bubbly, so it’s not often that other people see them lose their temper. Rose is the type of person who you won’t know you’ve angered them until it’s too late- one moment they’ll be smiling with a bone-chilling look in their eyes, the next you’ll be out cold before waking up in one of their dungeons or security/trap mazes to be used as a guinea pig. While it’s hard to notice you’ve done so, try not to anger the hyper-intelligent sadistic flamingo scientist. EVER.

Maravilla: Maravilla is a bit like Rose in that you won’t notice you’ve angered her right away- if you notice it at all. Her temper is definitely more of a slow boil and she’s excellent at hiding it, so she’ll often just smile and laugh it off while quietly plotting her revenge. Using her connections on both sides, she’ll gather information to ruin the foolish transgressor’s life, reveal their worst secrets, and, in a worst case scenario, set them up to be taken out by SHUSH or FOWL during a mission to make it look like a work-related accident. Whatever their fate is, they will learn the hard way not to mess with the manipulative double-agent.

FOWL Scientist/Former Agent “Dr.Rose Gold”

Physical Description: Greater flamingo with extremely light pink (almost white) feathers for most of the body, dark pink tipped feathers on head feathers/hair that give the illusion of reverse-frosted tips, black feathers on fingers with darker pink feathers on hands. Beak has the same standard black tip and line going along the seam of the beak as regular greater flamingos, almost looking like black lipstick. Torso is fairly slim and small, but long legs and REALLY long neck make Rose look taller when fully extended- full extended height puts them about an inch and a half or so taller than Steelbeak. Has beautifully crafted mechanical legs plated in rose gold colored metal, hence the name.

Outfit: Rose’s general outfit consists of what could be described as a “crop-top lab coat” with a light pink upper half that just barely covers their chest and leaves their midsection exposed, and a split twin-tail style back in vibrant red with a rose emblem on the back. Part of the sleeve and tail on one side have suffered extreme tears and burn damage due to previous experiments gone wrong, but they refuse to throw it out because it “gives the coat more character”, in their opinion.

Gender: Gender fluid/tri-gender, will switch pronouns often (always best to assume gender-neutral pronouns unless told for sure if one of the others is okay).

Sexual Orientation: Polysexual with a preference for men and nonbinary individuals. Is okay with a partner who sometimes presents as female like they do, but not typically interested in regular women.

Age: 31

Nicknames: Rose, Rosey, Ro, Goldy, Dr.Trap, Pinky, Kee, Keekee (the last three are exclusively used by Steelbeak).

Real Name: Keya Datta. (Family is from India, but they never went until they were an adult)

Background:

Coming from a family of FOWL scientists, Keya always had a love of two things: Technology and Villainy. However, instead of taking the route the rest of their family did and jumping straight into the scientist role, Keya wanted to try the exciting life of an agent first.

They were partnered with Steelbeak ten years ago before Steelbeak became chief officer and the two worked surprisingly well together (despite Steelbeak not understanding or remembering their pronouns most of the time), with Keya being one of his longer lasting partners with a record of three months.

Unfortunately, their partnership came to an abrupt end when Keya suffered a rather nasty accident on a mission that resulted in their legs being blown off. The damage was so severe that not even FOWL’s medicine rays could repair their legs. Keya was out of commission for two years for recovery and used that time to design and build their replacement legs.

The joy of fabricating something so sleek and advanced rekindled their love for science and a year later Keya officially became Dr.Rose Gold- FOWL’s top security system designer and elite limb augmentation specialist.

Current Position: Still FOWL’s top scientist when it comes to security systems and traps, Rose has an entire laboratory to themself out in the middle of nowhere in the Nevada desert. This is both so they have the room to build and test elaborate traps and security systems, and because most people (High Command included) prefer to keep Rose as far away as possible. They don’t really have a lot of people working at the facility, either, it’s mostly just them and the occasional assistant or body guard that High Command sends to look after Rose, though most of them don’t stay for long because they get tired of dealing with Rose’s erratic nature while working, the traps they have to navigate on a daily basis, or both.

Personality:

Rose has a generally cheerful disposition, despite what they do for a living. Don’t let the constant cheerfulness fool you, though, they can also be very creepy and intimidating when they smile while talking about things such as “live experiments”.

They have a lot of energy and will talk for hours about anything they’re interested in (mainly technological advancements, traps, and security systems). Unfortunately, this energy isn’t always directed properly into their work as they’ll often get distracted and bounce randomly from one thing to the next depending on what strikes their mood.

Once they’ve formed an attachment to someone, things like personal space go out the window and they’ll be all over that person constantly. They’ll do everything from sitting on the person’s lap while tinkering with something, to draping themselves over their shoulders for a hug, and even preening- regardless if the person’s a bird or not.

Steelbeak’s so desensitized to it by now that he doesn’t even bat an eye or register anything off about the contact. He’ll hold very serious discussions with people while Rose is hugging him from behind and nuzzling him and not even acknowledge it until someone points out their behavior, at which point he’ll just be like “Trust me, gettin’ rid of ‘em’s more trouble than it’s worth- this is the safer option.”

While the physical affection can be a bit much for some people to handle, it’s nothing compared to Rose’s protective streak. Once they’ve gotten attached to someone, they’ll be SUPER protective of them, doing things like abducting people who wronged the person they care about to use for security-system testing later, keeping security cameras in key locations around their home to monitor for possible threats, and even planting trackers on/in them to know where they are in case of an emergency. “Invasion of privacy” is a phrase that definitely comes up around Rose more often than it probably should, but it’s just their way of showing they care.

Interesting Bonus Facts:

Rose’s favorite instrument is the hurdy gurdy, which surprises most people since it’s a 1,000 year old instrument, but they consider it a remarkable breakthrough in musical engineering. They’ll happily bust one out and play it to prove their point, which many people may originally laugh at...but the laughter stops when they start playing it like THIS and they just smirk when everyone’s jaws hit the floor.

Despite what many people’s first gut-reaction of seeing someone as hyper as Rose drinking coffee might be (typically fear), it actually has the reverse effect that most would expect and helps them focus easier. If they have a deadline for something coming up, they’ll practically LIVE off of coffee for several days straight and go into a work-frenzy where they’ll hyper-focus on their assignment until it’s completed.

Their robotic legs are their pride and joy, and they’ll happily talk about them whenever someone shows even the slightest interest. The limbs are sleek, strong, beautiful, durable, and practical- the feet have built in magnets they can activate to walk along metal walls and ceilings with ease.

Good luck getting them to cover up those pretty legs, though, they’ll plot your death if you even SUGGEST wearing pants to them.

For formal events they’ll either wear a really nice top or a dress, but a full suit is completely out of the question.

“Would you cover up Mona Lisa’s smile? No? Then don’t you even DARE suggest I hide these works of art from the world!”

People are often confused by/misinterpret the nature of Rose and Steelbeak’s relationship due to both Rose’s lack of personal boundaries and the two’s general familiarity and behavior with one another.

Many assume the two have dated in the past, but that never actually happened, mostly because Steelbeak was still figuring himself out back when they were partners and thought he was straight/didn’t understand Rose’s gender identity. Steelbeak eventually figured out he was bi later in life and gained a better understanding of different genders, but he’s also demiromantic and doesn’t really experience romantic attraction that often.

Rose definitely had a physical attraction to Steelbeak back when they worked together, but it never really went anywhere, and by now they’re both too comfortable with their current relationship to want to change anything. So, in the end, they have more of a “could have been something at one point, but never really happened and now it’s too late to try” sort of relationship.

Nowadays the two of them are still close despite how little they get to see each other in person. At most, they might be considered queerplatonic, but they don’t really have any sort of label on their relationship and just enjoy it for whatever it is.

How about 🩸 with Rose Gold? - Pixel Anon

“🩸 - Does your OC believe in blood being thicker than water? (meaning family relationships and loyalties are the most important)”

I can never resist throwing out the full saying whenever I see the shortened version- “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” It actually means the opposite of what most people get out of the shortened version, stating that bonds you form are more important than the ones you’re born with.

Having gotten that bit of trivia out of the way, Rose is definitely the most interesting of my OC’s to answer this question for since, out of all of my OC’s, Rose is the only one with a still living and healthy relationship with their family members. (The next closest would be Maravilla, but she technically abandoned her family to join FOWL and SHUSH, so her relationship with them is currently nonexistent)

Rose would argue that both types of relationships are equally valuable and that family is what you want it to be: They’re very close to their blood family, despite not being able to see all of them in person very often. Then there’s their relationship with Steelbeak, whom they love and care for (not in a romantic way) as someone they’ll always want in their life. And, as I mentioned in one of my previous posts about them, there’s also their unofficial lab partner, @starlightmoth ‘s OC Belladonna, whom they view as another grandmother figure and would happily welcome into their own family.

In conclusion, Rose loves their family and believes that familial bonds are important, but also believes that family is an open-for-interpretation concept that is up to each person.

🍺 for Dr Rose Gold?

“🍺 - What kind of drunk are they? (e.g. talkative, sleepy, flirty etc.)”

Rose’s mood while drinking depends on who they’re around/if they’re around anyone at all.

If they’re drinking by themself with no one to talk to, which doesn’t happen often as they’re too busy to drink most of the time, they’ll just get bored/tired and go to bed early. If they’re with a family member or good friend, however, they’ll be more awake and talkative, usually being in a good mood and making jokes or laughing a lot- pretty much a fun, giggly drunk at that point.

If the person/people they’re drinking with are to their own personal liking, however (read as “hot, attractive, and likely muscular”), their naturally flirty demeanor and lack of personal space/shame will get cranked up to 11 and they’ll be all over the person: Sitting in their lap, hugging them, stealing a kiss when possible, making lots of innuendos and saucy comments, etc.

Don’t get them mad while they’re drunk, though- Rose’s sadistic nature can come out at any time and they may end up abducting the person who upset them, putting that person in one of their traps or security mazes, and end up forgetting about them for weeks or even months.

I’ll do this for Rose since I’ve had a couple Friendly Four asks recently.

Rose isn’t opposed to receiving help when necessary, but isn’t exactly used to it, either. Their years of living in mostly solitude have made them extremely self-reliant and used to cleaning up after themself and fixing their own problems around the lab. The few times when they DO have someone around the lab, they’ll accept help or assistance when it’s offered, but, honestly, Rose has gotten so used to doing everything on their own that it hardly ever occurs to them to ASK for help, even when someone’s right next to them.

For a while, though, he’d be ashamed to admit it, but he would’ve liked some companionship- someone he could think of as an equal that’d be able to support him on both a personal and professional level. After his partnership with Rose was cut tragically short, he went a long time without getting really close to anyone because he had a string of partners that either got injured/killed on the job or he just didn’t “click” with them on an emotional level and they’d get on each others’ nerves.

He kind of gave up hope for a while that he’d get anyone worth keeping around until he was partnered with and grew closer to @thefriendlyfour ‘s Domino- after getting past their initial issues with one another, Steelbeak found that the two of them actually worked pretty well together when the two of them weren’t at each others’ throats. On top of having good work chemistry, Steelbeak eventually figured out his own complicated feelings towards his partner and, once he figured himself out a little and the two of them started talking more, they began to spend more time together off the clock and Steelbeak felt an emotional attachment to someone that he hadn’t in several years. He now has someone he “clicks” with on both a professional and personal level and he’s more grateful for that than he’ll probably ever say out loud.

“What is something they always wanted to do but too scared?”

Steelbeak’s not usually too scared to do what he wants when the mood strikes him- what does he have to be scared of, right?

...Well, admittedly, there is one thing he may be just a little reluctant to do: He wants to go back to New Duck City and find out more about himself and his parents. He wants to know what happened to the lady he used to call his Ma and why she just stopped coming by one day. He wants to know why his Pa never let him out of the house and why there are no records of his existence. He wants to know what happened to his Pa’s body after he was gunned down and if he’s buried somewhere. He wants these answers and any others he can get but, even though he has the connections and resources to make finding these things out possible, he’s hesitant to do it because, honestly, for how much he secretly WANTS to know the truth...he’s also SCARED about what those answers actually are..

“What was the last thing they cried about?”

Steelbeak’s a tough guy that doesn’t break down in tears easily. When asked, he’d likely say that he hasn’t cried since he was fourteen when he got his beak stomped in by the cops after shop lifting from a mall- and those were tears of extreme pain, so they hardly count.

If you asked his former partner, Dr.Rose Gold, however, THEY would tell a different story. They’d even have visual aids including pictures and videos of Steelbeak getting his beak worked on over the years while too drugged up to notice he was crying.

Rose also has a candid pic they took of Steelbeak from when the two of them were partners years ago when they talked him into watching Bambi, but Steelbeak swears it was photoshopped or something because there’s NO WAY he’d cry over some dumb kid’s movie, right? Sure, there’s the part where Bambi’s mom gets shot in front of him, but it’s not like that would hit close to home for Steelbeak because of how his dad died or something- that’d just be stupid and he’s not even going to justify that stupidity with a response.

🍼 for Dr. Rose Gold?

“Does your OC have any children or want children? What names would they pick? Are they good with kids or a complete disaster?”

Rose doesn’t have any children yet (mostly because they’re still single and don’t keep partners for very long), but they wouldn’t be opposed to having children of their own one day. While Rose themself grew up as an only child, they always had LOTS of cousins and loved being part of a big family, so they’d be happy with any number of children of their own. They’re open to name suggestions from their partner, but, if they have multiple kids, they’d like at least one of them to have a hindi name like them. Lastly, they’re actually not bad with children after spending time at family reunions/get-togethers with all of their cousins’ kids and can even handle babies with ease.

In conclusion: Rose isn’t a parent YET, but would definitely be down for having kids if they had a partner that was open to it ;)

“What does your OC do when they see others upset or in pain? An upset friend? A stranger?“

This IS Steelbeak we’re talking about, so the answer for most of this question is simple: He’d laugh at their suffering, likely because HE would have been the one to cause it.

The exceptions to this would be if it were one of the few people he’s closer to (like my OC Rose or @thefriendlyfour ‘s OC Domino). In those situations he’s not always sure what to do at first because, honestly, it’s been a long time since he’s had anyone around to comfort him when he’s upset, so it’s not like he has very many points of reference for what to do when someone he cares about is upset.

Because he doesn’t have any great references for what to say and knows that words can sometimes makes things worse, he’d be more likely to let his actions do the talking by doing little things like sitting with them and letting them vent about why they’re upset and only offering advice if they ask for it- maybe be a shoulder to lean or cry on, if they really needed it. He’d try to avoid things like faking sympathy for situations he hasn’t gone through before and, if it seemed like the right call, he’d offer up a distraction instead like getting them to talk about something they enjoy or telling them about something weird or embarrassing that happened to him earlier. No matter what he settled on, he’d do his best to stay nearby until he knew they were good then joke that they could treat him to dinner later as a thank you.
