Anyone kinda upset by the way the Traveler and Paimon talked to Furina during her story quest, particularly the beginning?

Like am I overthinking or where they rather rude and dismissive of Furina's feelings then?

Cause I understand the troupe at the end doing what they did because while they knew Furina did not want to perform, they don't really have the whole story or understanding of it.

I can even understand Neuvillette asking because Furina looked excited and he was curious and concerned about her.

But to me it really felt like both the Traveler and Paimon were trying to guilt trip her (not saying intentionally but yeah) plus being pretty dismissive of her feelings as I've mentioned.

I don't know maybe I'm overthinking it but it did leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth... So I have to ask if anyone else felt that or if I'm just being overly sensitive

A little clarification on how Neuvillette addresses Furina in her story quest—in English it's rendered as "Miss Furina," and shortly after "Lady Furina," implying he uses a different honorific each time.

However, in both these lines Neuvillette actually uses 女士/nǚshì, the same way he has always addressed Furina in the past, barring the instances where he only uses her name, which he only does in private and generally not to her face.

When Furina asks the NPCs in the quest to stop calling her "Lady Furina," they switch from 大人/dàrén to calling her 女士/nǚshì/Miss Furina. Previously Neuvillette was the only character who called her that. When he did, it was always rendered in English as "Lady Furina," the same as the other more reverent honorific.

So no actual change between them in this regard, just the translation team finding themselves in a bit of a bind over how to translate it going forward where the two are concerned!

WAIT.... what if the reason why vision bearers in fontaine are separated in terms of ousia and pneuma is because furina/focalors separated into two beings: human and divinity???? ok thats a bit of a reach but imagine?? now that neuv's vision story got updated, we now know that visions DO come from archons but they don't actually know who they give it to. so ei's confusion about electro visions not appearing for a while after she closed herself off makes sense.

furina asked neuvillette if they can borrow the opera epiclese for the little oceanid play and neuvillette himself said he'd attend. he had been hoping to see her on stage again. seeing her resolute and singing her heart out most likely granted her an actual vision.

Fontaine's story teaser artstyle is actually so gorgeous T_T it also bears great resemblance to woodcuts and I think that's very cool—seems like that's the irl inspiration that Fontaine's artstyle is based off of (like how Mondstadt pvs resemble stained glass, Inazuma's draw from ukiyo-e, etc).

out of the 3 fontaine pvs (lyney's sq, oceanid cutscene from 4.1, furina's sq) they're all really consistent with the art direction and god it looks like fairy tale illustrations

notice the use of lines (eg in the clouds, in the water) to represent shadows and convey texture

it's easier to see in environment shots (the above are from 4.1 waterborne poetry, and furina's story quest teaser, la vaguelette), but you can see it on characters too (the additional hatching on the characters' hair, hats, and clothes)

it's also neat how all 3 story pvs we've seen have animated some element of water or flowing liquid—fitting for the hydro nation and also extremely pretty to watch. the style looks super nice and even possibly hand drawn

I'm finally doing Furina's SQ and I am literally going to jump off a bridge WHAT ARE THESE DIALOGUE OPTIONS

WHY ARE WE BEING SO INSENSITIVE?? I thought everyone was exaggerating and just senselessly hating on Paimon like they always do bUT WHAT IS GOING ON THIS IS SO OUT-OF-CHARACTER

Paimon and the Traveler completely ignoring the fact that Furina just spent FIVE HUNDRED YEARS playing a role she should never have had to fill and enduring unimaginable loneliness and anguish and you go "wHat'S wRonG wiTH mAkInG oNe ExCEpTiOn? I tHoUGHt yOu wERe jUst a BiT oF a DiVa" I am going to SCREECH

This is so out of character. The fact that it appears to be intentional because Furina keeps saying "No, I don't want to do that, stop pressuring me, stop getting on my case" and yet she's going along anyway out of obligation and feeling bad for putting her foot down for once is just awful. She needs a BREAK. The Traveler and Paimon are usually so kind and understanding in situations like this and I am so confounded as to who they let write the script for this story quest because this is awful. I never get secondhand embarrassment and I'm about ready to throw my monitor if they insult her one more time.

Every frickin option is something I would never ever ever dream of saying to someone in this situation. Every option is terrible. I want to scream.

Ohhhh so the resolution of the serial disappearances case was an important turning point for Neuvillette's character because before, he lacked the understanding of why humans would sacrifice themselves for another.

Through this, he learned the meaning of sacrifice.

So when the time came where he learned the truth of Furina and Focalors' sacrifice, how could he not enact the justice they fought for? For 500 long years?

Finally got enough energy to talk about Furina's SQ and while I loved her and the troupe, MC and Paimon were .... Not Great. I talked about this with friends but in Paimon's case especially, the way they interact with Furina feels like people who just don't understand trauma and depression and then engage with someone suffering from both in all the wrong ways.

Talking about how much of a downgrade her house is from the opera house, making fun of how she can't cook, pushing her to act when she's set a very clear boundary and then guilt tripping her after she's stuck to her guns, shaming her for not being able to fight well (Paimon literally talks about how second hand embarrassment is overwhelming and I'm just like ?????), telling her she's "not acting like herself" when she attempts to open up and be vulnerable....it's just really rough. That and the MC asking "is something wrong" when Furina gets sad over Poission ..like bro people died and she couldn't save them and she's tearing herself apart over it. Those people are never coming back and you know it and you have the gall to ask her is something wrong??? Of COURSE there is!!

It just feels especially odd because we literally get to see all of Furina's suffering and Paimon in particular is. SO mean? Like she was more understanding with Wanderer and Ei and THEY'VE tried to kill us multiple times!! I don't get it, and honestly I'm very proud of Furina for refusing to waver. Let her rest!! She's tired and depressed and she needs time to heal; and honestly fuck Paimon for trying to make her feel bad. Furina's worked harder than she EVER will.
